Can somebody tell me how to set it as default? Is it possible yet?
Please, don´t ask this question at every moment :-/ Devs are working hard on a real Android ROM for our loveled Xperia X1 but till now there is no way to have Android as default system (I mean NAND instalation).
If you want start Android automatically after charging Windows Mobile, just Google it. You´ll found the solution in thousands of threads: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11058529&postcount=15
And as I told you at the beginnig of the post, please try to keep this space useful for devs reporting bugs, problems and so on for the fast development of Android.
Thanks...
Hey everybody, I've seen numerous threads in general about porting, in general, but what about building a rom specifically for our device, what would that take? I've seen the android "kitchen" post on building roms, but the exhibit II isn't supported. I have also noticed that almost all our roms are ported from other devices. Is there any particular reason for that?
Are there any threads here about that, since I haven't found any?
And if not, could any of you guys help me learn.
I have a computer with 6gigs ram, i5 2nd Gen, and a giganormous hard drive, dual booting win7 and Ubuntu 12.10, but well, I need help learning all of this stuff.
Thank You, in advance.
EDIT: Mods, please move this thread to the correct section
first off this should be in q&a
but here ya go anyway http://www.kernel-xp.net/index.php/en/guide/25-android/32-compilare-cm10
dont limit your searches to xda google is your best friend
Thank you, please pardon my noobiness, but thank you for that Info, I'll definitely remember it.
Hi guys, I don't know if i'm in the right place.
I've been trying for almost a month . I want to compile a kernel for my Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE (9305). I've just modified the stock kernel source adding some features, like chipset drivers. I want to use my TP Link TL-WN722N (that should have an Atheros chipset) with an OTG cable to link it with the smartphone. Because i want to run softwares like Reaver or Aircrack, but unfortunately my device doesn't support Monitor mode. I'm here because i'm getting errors on errors My question is : can someone build the kernel for me ? I know, it's a BIG request. I'm asking you while crying...i'm really tired! :crying:
If no one wanna do it, at least explain me how to go on :c
P.S: Sorry for any grammar mistake, i'm still learning English

Hey, what errors are you getting? I'm building a kernel too and getting lots of errors but I'm still learning try posting the errors here maybe we can work from there as idk what u r trying to do.
Sent from my GT-I9305 using XDA Labs
I posted in the main Android forum for help, but it's so busy there! I figured I may get some help in a more relevant device community. To avoid reposts, here is the original thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/help-build-source-failed-make-otapackage-t3831440
Big thanks to Psy_Man, I used his device tree and kernel to build.
If anyone wants to try my build it's here (use opengapps nano, stock seems to crash the setup wizard, probably because it removes webview). Everything seems to work but I have no clue how to fix anything so don't bother sending me logcats

Maybe (very probably) I missed something but in your thread asking for help you say the problem is build doesn't complete, error at 99%, but then you do have a build that I think (from what some guys say in telegram) boots and all. So what do you need the help for exactly?
On the other hand I always found help posting my problems in the complete android rom development source to end thread, the one with like 900 pages and going....
https://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android/guide-android-rom-development-t2814763
you should post on development section, if you want to keep updating the ROM, many people will try your ROM and help to test it and maybe will help for the solutions too.

I am a complete Linux noob, I have literally never used a compiler before in my life. Yes my build works and boots (which I am amazed at because it's my first try) but I need help in understanding why one way worked and the other way didn't. Thanks for the tip about the development guide

I would post there, need to get my post count up first
I made another test build after setting up my own github account, this time no compile errors at all, and I got an xxx-UNOFFICIAL.zip this time like I'm supposed to! Who knows why it didn't work the first time, but i'm (very) slowly getting the hang of this
Have made a build that works properly now, will make a dev page as soon as i'm allowed. if anyone wants to try it out it's here https://drive.google.com/open?id=1SQGaI4U0KeQQKJwq6EyRsa2VQph91oHA
Before you read this, I apologize for the reason that I posted this in the general threads. I wasn't allowed by XDA to go onto the development threads, so I needed to post it here. Thank you for reading this, and let's continue.
I need help.
I am a young IT specialist (Well, not quite a specialist, but I know alot of computer things,) and I need help with porting Ubuntu Touch and Halium to the following devices:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE [chagalllte] (Which I own since 2014.)
For the past 3 days, I have been fighting with error in the terminal, fought one error, won the fight, and... the next command gives another error. After those days I became tired as hell. And then, I thought that I need a helper in my mission..? quest..? You think of it. So, please comment down below if you'd like to help me/contribute with this project. The Github link will be added later, since all source was deleted from my computer, but I am going to recover it. See you soon.
Github links.
Coming soon.
Edit 1: I apologize, I didn't add this into the thread:
"The halium I am building is based off LineageOS-7.1 branch."

For now, I built the halium system, boot, and other images successfully... But, now, I flashed them onto my tablet and it is getting the "KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING." I have no idea how to fix this, so please leave the suggestions.

You need the SEANDROID marker at the end of boot.img. https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_device_samsung_exynos5420-common/+/226344
