Note 4 S-LTE , SM-N916 - General Duscussion

Hi all,
Just wanted to start some discussion here on the new variant of the Note 4.
Supposed to be coming with the Exynos 5433 and South Korea release only.
Personally I've got the S5 and have been very tempted by the Note 4 but 64 bit support and much faster/better battery life sounds like the one.
The S6 might be pretty great too though. We'll see what the exporters are offing this for soon enough I guess (supposed to launch this week).
What are your thoughts?

It's been out at Korean carriers for a bit now.
Comes in some new colours.
Some online resellers are starting to carry it.
28mobile for one has it now at about 1k usd. Their prices are a bit high I find.
welectronics has it for $849 usd. Confirms it's running 5.0.1
Looks like xtmobile has it for about $700 usd.
Think it's running 5.0.1. Bit of conflicting info around.

Yes it's available at some stores like 28mobile however that benchmark was done Dec 10 when they were testing it with the Snapdragon 810, at 64-bit from what it seems.
It is released with Exynos 5433 and 3-band CA CAT 9 Support as you can also see on the pictures of the packaging on 28mobile.
Also Samsung site confirms it is the 1.3 1.9 octacore CPU:

Yeah. I questioned that benchmark. Multicore seemed a little slow and 5.0 is listed which isn't right.
I was aware it's the 5433 and not 810 but this updated version is supposed to be 64 bit.

Yeah, the most recent benchmark of SM-N916S:

Dammit.. No 64 bit. That's dissapointing.

has anyone purchased this phone? i got mine a few days ago and didn't even notice it was not the general note 4 (SM-N910S) in korea.

I got the N916S the other day. Apart from some SKT bloatwares (which I have disabled or hidden) and some issue with the 70 characters maximum in messages, there are no issue using it.
This is probably the rarest variant of the note 4 so atm I haven't found any rom cooks or how-to-root for it yet

N916 is rootable. I have the kt variant and as long as you can follow a tutorial written in Korean you're good.
As far as ROMs go, I am wondering if the exynos based ROMs for the N910 will work. The hardware should be identical aside from the radios.

Anyway you could translate those instructions for those of us who don't read korean?

I just got mine yesterday. I'm getting a hard time looking for custom ROMs and rooting instructions

Hi I have this version of Note 4 (N916S) and I want to root it but I dont know which tutorial should I read. I don't know which version of Note 4 should I follow. is it N910C or N910H. Do you guys have any recommendation thread about this? already asked in Q&A Thread but no response

why would you want the exynos note 4?
it has ancient Cat.4 modems not integrated into chipset, and many users still complaining about connectivity issues.
snapgragon Note 4 has Cat.6 qualcomm modem that is way better.

I just did snapdragon is faster. It was unlocked note 7 snapdragon vs unlocked note 4 exynos

Right. Mostly it would be around for 30k for 64GB and 32K for 128GB

Eagerly waiting to buy the 64GB gunmetal color as soon as it's launched. I am guessing 31k for for 64GB and 34K for 128GB.

But I guess they will sell.cheaper in China. Onplus mostly will end up pricing 3T 64gb little costlier than current one plus 3 phone (28k)

Moto Z play is good but OnePlus 3T is better (apert from MOD support)
3T has better battery life and better processor than 3.
So definitely I would recommend 3T.

Ordered my 3t 128gb today, it will arrive by 15-19 dec. Im too excited for it

ordered 128gb , lets see how fast they deliver

I also ordered 128gb ....first time deviating from samsung lets see

Ordered 64gb version... waiting period is a week

Thanks a lot for the reply @salilpune. I will wait till new years for a new phone as both Moto Z PLay and OP3T seems to have their share of problems. 3T will launch on 14th Dec and I will wait so that I can see the delivery times. anyways appreciated your reply.

CPU Z app shows proper.

Just look at your phone color, if it is gunmetal then its 3T

Mine shows "QC_Reference_Phone" for some reason, don't know why...

Use something that doesn't pull info from a database instead pulls the info off the device. Like AIDA64

I was on the same boat as you. I bought mine from Swappa and was FURIOUS when I saw that. Almost gave the person a bad review because I thought they had sold me the 3 instead of the 3T.
What I used was AIDA64 to confirm that the CPU, camera and battery.
CPU = Snapdragon 821
Camera = 16mp
Battery = 3400
If your specs are like that then you're golden. Kind of annoying that they didn't even bother changing the model number lol

Hey guys, I have oneplus 3t I'm just wondering why the app CPU-Z which you know it all, is showing my battery capacity 3000mAh?

The 3T is often falsely detected as OP3. Hence apps think it has only 3000mAh.

See in device if it is Snapdragon 821 means it's op3T ...If not then you have to worry

Kernel Adiutor shows all specs correctly due to it being constantly updated about once or twice a month. It knows you have a 3T. But, your phone itself knows what it is. just let your phone do its thing and ull be happy with it.
