If you have cm13 installed you have bootloader unlocked and recovery installed (twrp recovery i Guess). If you want superuser options Turn on "developer options" in "about phone" (Google it) and Turn it on. If you want To flash SuperSU go To xda forum about SuperSU and search there..

[Q] Htc One Root help!

Just tried rooting the phone for the first time. Not too familiar with rooting. Only done a few phones before.
Unlocked boot loader on dev site. Installed TWRP just fine. Installing root package went fine, but I was unable to install busybox. It would either fail to install, or crash the phone and reboot. I found a root + busybox zip, flashed that, and then SuperSU said I wasn't rooted at all! Tried flashing the old SuperSU root package again, but I'm still not rooted anymore. Can someone give me a quick fix for this please?
Thanks.
Is there anyone that can give me some advice? It would be MUCH appreciated!
hi friend ..
i'm also new about rooting hTC (1st time).i'd like to help, but not good enough on explanation ..i root my hTC One on day 2nd bought it.Might some help from youtube and xda topics about unlock bootloader, s-off & rooting.
after u done unlock bootloader, just download twrp zip or cwm zip..extract it copy twrp file (img) on fastboot folder (on pc drive with fastboot files for unlock bootloader process).
right click img file to open as cmd. Then type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" then press enter..if u see word just like okay u can go back to bootloader mode, select recovery if u see word on top of screen while htc booting mode that's mean u already done flashing recovery.wait just 2 second, twrp should appear..u should download superSU or super user early put on ur sd then u flash it use twrp..check ur root status use root checker or titanium backup.lastly u tap on superSU or super user icon to update binary (for this method i'm not sure u need to update or not) might somebody got any best answer..
sorry for bad english & too simple methods.

I did, but when I opened it, it says I wasn't rooted as if I just installed it from the play store without a root.

[Q] Rooting my Nexus 6 "from scratch." few questions...

Hey, I recently got a Nexus 6, and instead of installing CM as I usually do, I'm going to try rooting and using Xposed. The trick is that I use Linux exclusively, so I can't use the one-click installers. It's a Nexus, so unlocking is a piece of cake, and I know how to use adb and fastboot to install a custom recovery.
From there, I'm not totally sure what to do. I downloaded the SuperSU zip from chainfire, which I'll install from twrp... Then... Do I need to install busybox or something? I guess I'll have to side load xposed after that?
Also, not sure what the update path will be after that. I guess rooting will break OTA... So what do I do?
Sorry for being such a newb! Thanks!
to root..
fastboot oem unlock to unlock the bootloader
fastboot flash twrp recovery
flash the latest supersu zip within your new recovery
then just reboot, and you have root.
to update, you can flash any updated stock rooted rom, or you can update via fastboot.
@ninjaaron,
Go to the Xposed thread, there's a lot of info > http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/official-xposed-lollipop-t3030118

Thanks for the concise explanation! Can I install a rom from the vendor with fastboot, or will I have to use mod'ed Roms after rooting?

Depends what you mean by vendor. Only Google release official ROMs and yes they can be flashed via fast boot.
Yes, I was referring to Google when I said " the vendor"

Yep. Just needed to clarify because on other android devices, carriers can be vendors

Recoveries gone

Hi,
Well, I do have one recovery - cyanogen recovery, all others are gone.
With cyanogen I can't flash gapps or tangerine kernel,so I need my old ones back.
How it happened? Flashed FlexOS,after reboot they were gone, replaced by cyanogen recovery.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Is it possible that I've lost root? Cause that what root checker says.
P.s. managed to install gapps, will try flashing kernel like suggested tomorrow. Any links on how to do it?
Thanks guys

i have did this from a long time so forgive if it didn't work for you>>> form pc download this zip that i uploaded it for you(https://mega.co.nz/#!y51TmaJR!gSWCWbF_6d3JKbkyjgNzhdfBoKakFvNCCFFvBfRl-cY) extract to C:\fastboot then move the kernel.elf if is it tangerine it will be like this (tangerine.elf)>>>press ctrl+shift on the keyboard and then press open command window here then type: fastboot flash boot (the kernel name.elf) when it's done type fastboot reboot
example: fastboot flash boot tangerine.elf
p.s you have to install the drivers for you phone google it or maybe(Connect your Xperia SP via USB. (Don't forget to enable USB Debugging)
Then run the Software (http://adbdriver.com/downloads/) and choose ur phone, which should be listed in the list.
i hope i helped with this if it didn't work so i'm sorry my friend for wasting your time
good luck :good:
Hi, it's all sorted now.
if someone have same problem this is what I've done:
installed gapps aroma as other packages wouldn't install from cyanogen recovery, then flashed super su also from recovery. after that I was able to install phillz recovery using rashr app from Google store. then from phillz installed tangerine kernel. all good now,
thanks everyone!

[Q] Okay, rooted. Now what?

Rooted using PingPong. Did some de-bloating. Need to flash recovery (preferably TWRP). Unlocked "Developer options," though, so far, I can't see anything relevant there. (Should I enable USB debugging? Any other Developer settings relevant to flashing TWRP recovery?) Anyway, I installed TWRP Manager from the Play store, though it keeps asking me to patch the system partition so it can write to SD. Is that safe? Should I say "yes"?
P.S. Haven't updated to 5.1.1 yet. Still on 5.0.2.

don't touch anything in dev options. Just download "flashify" in the play store and flash the newest twrp 2.8.6.2 recovery image in the flashify app. That's it.
here is the link for the newest twrp:
https://dl.twrp.me/zeroflte/
download the "twrp-2.8.6.2-zeroflte.img"
good talk
Yeah, don't update to 5.1.1

Why?
you'd lose root, custom recovery, and you wouldn't be able to downgrade. i would wait awhile before upgrading to 5.1.1

Flash Failed trying to Install Recovery

Hi guys, is the first time i try to install another room on my Xperia Z, i followed step by step all the requeriments
-I unlocked the bootloader
-I rooted my phone
-Install Recovery. I downloaded the TWRP App on Play Store. I select my device (Xperia Z) and i choose the last file to flash (twrp-3.0.2.0-yuga.img). I press "Flash To Recovery" and it says Flash Failed, so i can turn on my phone on the Recovery Mode..
There's another way to install the recovery? I'm a little bit worried because i heard about "Bricked Phone" and i don't wanna do something that could bring me to that.
PD: After i unlock the bootloader and root the phone, i downloader the TWRP App, and i think this could be important. The first time i open this App i have the Option to "Backup Existing Recovery". And i never installed a Recovery and in addition, when i unlocked the bootloader, all the information was deleted (yes i knew this) but TWRP gave me the option to backup and existing recovery.
Maybe if now i reset all data to zero and install again TWRP app could work?
PD2: First time i did it i don't read if the Recovery was installed. I was following instructions and tryied to reboot to enter recovery (turn off button + volume down) but it didn't work. So i once again did the same process and it said Flash Failed. Seems maybe i already have the recovery installed but for some reason i can enter
Seems i already have installed the Recovery with the TWRP Official App. The problem is that the first time i installed i didn't read the message that said if it was all ok or no. Seems was all Ok. But when i tried to enter into the Recovery Mode i coudn't (Turn On + Volumen Down Button). So again i installed the Recovery but this time it said "Flash Failed"
If i install XZDualrecovery assuming for a moment that i have already installed a recovery, could be any problem?
I m also facing problem in flashing from twrp.
Each time I m unble to flash.
As msg is showing flash failed.

Yes i did it but my problem is already fixed.
First i unlocked the bootloader, then i rooted with Kingroot app. I installed TWRP Official App but this didn't work for me. So i installed the XZDualrecovery. After that i tried to install the ROM but again failed with another error. So after i installed the XZDualrecovery i installed TWRP 3.1.0 and then the ROM, and is done.
You can see the Chippa post, people helped me there

I'm gonna explain you all the method for you to know and if somebody has any problem.
First of all, if you did something and was wrong, go to flash your phone here: https://developer.sonymobile.com/open-devices/flash-tool/use-the-flash-tool-for-xperia-devices/. This restart your phone, quit root and recovery.
1- Unlock your phone here: https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/
2- Download and install Kingroot App, root and then download Check root App if all is okay.
3- Download the XZDualrecovery here: http://nut.xperia-files.com/path/XZ...g21jd24hub9so04tqn9vc50&randomizer=_oupgp8psh and follow the instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NteAd_MzsPI
4- Once recovery is installed, reboot, enter the recovery and Press Wipe and select Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache. Maybe system but i don't know.
5-Install the ROM and without reboot install the Gapps. First time maybe it could 10-15 minutes or less to restart with the new ROM, just wait.
Hope it worked for you!

Dual recovery will work in both Stock KitKat and Stock Lollipop rom.
The very first install should be from KitKat ofcourse, because in KitKat
its the most easy to root, and root is require for install dual recovery.
The recovery must be installed in fota partition if you read instructions
on twrp homepage.
Its hard to try help people when they partly ignore
and do their own experiments ..

No, no matter if you flash or not, if you unlock the bootloader is gonna be unlocked even if you flash. If you did something and was wrong, in my opinion you should flash and start again.
And the rom i used was lollipop 5.1.1. I didn't see what you say about kernel or boot, maybe i did it wrong but i'm good now with the ROM.
I forgot to mention that after installing dualrecovery you install TWRP 3.1 but i see you know it
