I can't speak for the verizon note 3, as I have the at&t version. But I did have a verizon S4 on the AT&T network, and the service was horendous. You won't get LTE, but you might get hspa+, service is intermitent Just use this apn and gou're good to go.

Don't spend $700 on a device that won't even support LTE.. plus I think the VZW one is locked also..
I use to buy CDMA devices and use them on GSM but the service and support is just trash

FYI
My phone - Black Verizon Galaxy Note 3 with 4.4.2
I called Verizon about whether or not I could have my unlock code for my Verizon Note 3 since I was going out of the country for a week and wanted to know if my phone could be used as a back up with a local SIM. Verizon told me my phone didn't need a code and I could use it in a different country based on that country's capabilities. I didn't end up using it there but that was useful information.
Today I took my Verizon Galaxy Note 3 to AT&T for service since my contract was up on Verizon and I already had my iPad with AT&T. So here's what I found out... A AT&T SIM does indeed work in my Verizon Note 3 with a couple of complications:
- I wasn't getting data at first but when we changed the "Connections/More Networks/Mobile Networks/Access Point Names/ +" entered "att phone" as the name and "phone" under APN. Voila 20+ MB speeds download... pretty sure I'm on their LTE bandwidth... (Via Speedtest App) (this does seem to vary a bit)
- It says my SIM is from an unknown source in the notifications but data, texts, and calls work just fine.
- At first I couldn't get AT&T visual voicemail to work (Yes I'm needy and demanding haha) only basic voicemail and customer service had to start it up on their end using some other phone number as the number being called vs. my number or *86. Their resigning for this was that their system didn't recognize my IMEI as an LTE phone... and further explanation saying that they didn't test the Verizon version so it's not in the system (fair enough). SO.... I found a work around... a AT&T Note 3 IMEI registered as mine with my number... and presto... visual voicemail
- It does't tell me what type of signal I'm getting in the notifications, just "H+" (HSPA+?)with a 0 to 5 bars. (Whatever)
So a couple hiccups but all and all, it works. Just an FYI and a few details for you guys. Hope this helps.
I had my Note 3 changed from Verizon to AT&T. I get an error message that the Sim card in not a Verizon card, but the voice and data connection via the phone (not through a wireless internet connection) works fine.
HOWEVER... I have noticed that the MMI codes do not work when entered on the phone.
Is this a result of changing to AT&T? Whatever the cause, how do I get the MMI codes to work again? I have sought guidance on YouTube and have tried recommendations there to no avail.
Do you know how to fix this problem?
Thanks.
I'm planning on buying a note 3 at&t branded because I'd be using it on at&ts network but through cricket wireless. Does anyone have any exp in doing this? Does everything work? And LTE?

I think you'll be one of the first to test this. Cricket use to be cdma style communication whereas at&t is gsm. I believe at&t just merged aio wireless and cricket thus changing cricket from cdma to gsm. If this is true you won't have any problems whatsoever. Just pop in the SIM and it will probably update the apn settings automatically. You can find the apn settings on crickets website and enter them yourself if it doesn't.
Just to clarify I am already using aio/cricket for months on this device. All will work fine if you have been reading up on aio and cricket merger you would know att is killing off crickets cdma line and will be using GSM, op just make sure you let SM-N900A is UNLOCKED and that you get a sim card and you should be fine. As per 4g/4g lte you may as well go elsewhere you will get 4g/4g lte where available but remember AIO/CRICKET is throttled data, so no matter what you will be limited to a lower speed. If you need any help let me know I've been on aio for months (pre merger to the point I have an aio sim but cricket in the top left).
I'm from the Pittsburgh area but now I'm in savanna Georgia and I've had lte almost the whole way..... I'm on cricket wireless also and I've had no problems with them.... I get lte almost everywhere I go

Why to go with "Criplet" if you can have this with AT$T Note 3 on $30 T-M prepaid (the radio chip is much better than T-M original)

Not to he offensive but tmobile sucks. Tmobile only has coverage (4g/4g lte) in major cities, aio/cricket runs off of AT&T network so you already get better coverage. Speeds may be throttled but I can do everything off it on these speeds, youtube, milk music, pandora no problems. When I had tmobile I was constantly on "edge"/2g, but on aio/cricket 75% of the time I'm on 4g lte and the rest I'm on 4g. OP unless you plan on never leaving a major city, just get aio/cricket.
I was on AIO for about a month, and now am on the merged Cricket with an Unlocked Note 3 (for another month). The 4g LTE data speed is capped at 8mbps. I have no problem streaming whatever I want. I had Verizon and most of the time I only got around that speed anyway. I looked at about every MNVO and provider for a cheaper way to do smartphones, and for 3 smartphones, I am at only $115 a month total with 2.5gb per line. I put out about $700 on a Note 3 and 2 S4 phones, and am saving about $115 a month on what it would cost me with AT&T or Verizon. The coverage for AT&T in my area is excellent. I have also found that the online chat is very quick and helpful with any questions. So far I am very pleased.
AT&T basically threw out Cricket and merely put the brand onto their existing AIO wireless. Given that there are so many more Cricket stores, it makes sense.
I am looking to purchase a note 4 either with T-Mobile, Verizon, or Att Wireless and use it on Cricket Wireless since you guys have done this with the Note 3. Will I be able to pop the Cricket sim card in and let it update by air or will I have to unlock all of these phones for this to work.. Also any suggestions for mms .. 4g LTE..etc will be appreciated..

If you get the N4 AT&T branded phone and plan to use cricket, you just put in SIM. Within minutes, you will get the configuration message, install and you're ready to go. No unlocking needed. With the Verizon and T-Mobile phones, you'll have to unlock. However, with any phone, unless you are on that branded phones service, you will not get OTA to new OS versions. This is not that big of a deal since you are already on xda, you can just go to your forum and more than likely find a flashable. [emoji3]
Im also doing the same now, just got a ATT note 3 to use it on cricket.. i have a note 3 on sprint but i just switched jobs and dont have reception at all, im trying it and if it works i might go to ATT later on, or who knows i might stay at cricket.. is way cheaper and 8mps is good for what i use it.. 55 per month with 10 GB thats a hell of a deal, I use about 8 to 10 on sprint right now
Wow...
Ctfu, yeah, give me a sweet device with crappy coverage... That makes SOOO much sense? AT&T/Cricket/AIO all they way! Funny stuff, keep it comin'!

I'm not too much of a phone geek, but I just started using my ATT Note 3 on Cricket. My APN settings didn't automatically set with the Cricket SIM, but that was an easy change.
I'd suggest the ATT N4 just because ATT bought Cricket, and they're using the same towers now. All things the same, I think it would be the path of least resistance.
BTW, I was paying $120/mo. for Unlimited everything with a 20% corporate discount with ATT. I was only using an average of 1.8GB per month. That also included a partially subsidized phone every 2 years with a new contract.
Now my bill is $35/mo but I'll have to buy my next phone. I'm only on day 2 of the change, but it's a big deal for me after 14yrs with the same company.

I am currently using a AT&T branded Note 3 on Cricket, switched from Tmobile months ago. No need to unlock a AT&T branded phone or at least I didn't have to with my 3.
You can just put a SIM in and change the APN settings to Cricket's which are available on their website.
I've never had issues with dropped calls or losing data with Cricket. I'm paying 150 a month for 3 lines unlimited calls, texts and 10g data on each line.

Has there been any confirmation or otherwise on whether or not the Play Store version will be able to be activated on Verizon?
I know there's only one SKU and I know that the Nexus 5 was able to be activated on Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T so I'm inclined to believe the Play Store device can be activated on any of the major carriers.
i've got similar questions.
like you, i wonder if this 1 "US" model is essentially identical across the board. i wonder if the play store variant can be activated on either cdma or gsm. i also wonder if there's a difference in the play store N6 and the N6 on motorolas web store. i guess i'm really just wondering if all the bootloaders can be unlocked, no matter where you purchased your Nexus 6.
There's only 2 models one for American one for the rest of the world. I have some doubts that Verizon will activate one from the play store only because they might require the imei to already be in their system as in bought from them. But it's possible to have them add your imei after the fact. Or at least sprint was able to with the N5

My understanding is with Verizon, if you already have an activated nano-SIM, you can just put it in the Nexus 6 and it would work (if you set the APN details right). Can anyone confirm this?

This is my understanding
The problem with VZW is you can't just out your Sim into a phone that doesn't have its IMEI/MEID white listed in their system because of the CDMA part. I'm hoping that all of the IME/MEID of all the Nexus 6s will be added but we have no confirmation and VZW won't comment on the matter.
I hope they don't even have to add the imei it should just work.

It wont just work on the cdma side .... Just like sprint and the nexus 5 they will have to manually add the imei to thier system. But should be easy .It may stop people from upgrading and keeping unlimited data but that is another thing in itself

How can you be certain it won't?
Cdma doesnt work like gsm you can't just insert sim card and it work ... You could buy the n5 from Google and sprint had to manually add imei to system or you would not get 1x or 3g putting sim in only got you lte . should be the same again with both carriers now

It's not going to work and unless your phone has a nano sim in it right now ie a iPhone your going to have to call and get it activated on your account... Like i said the imei on sprint had to be added until then you would only get lte .... Without a activated nano sim you won't get anything

I was wondering if I will be able to use this on the Straight talk CDMA network. Seeing the Nexus 5 was not sold by Verizon that made sense, but since Verizon will have the Nexus 6 I am hoping I will be able to use this phone on Straight talk using CDMA network. I am currently on AT&T and am waiting for the N6 release to switch over to ST, but I really need to know if I can use this phone if I switch. Anyone have an idea or is it still to early to know something like this?

I was going to try and sale them on ebay. I was looking, doesn't look like they go for as much as they use to. I'm hoping to get enough to make it worth it. At least $200 per line. But maybe with the Nexus 6 the price will go back up.
Pretty much like the title states.
I have a T-Mobile Pixel 4 XL that currently has both AT&T and T-Mobile service on it. Rather than paying for two carriers, I'd like to just get Verizon as it seems to work everywhere here. T-Mobile is spotty as hell but the data is WAY faster than my AT&T.
I tested a friends Verizon SIM and did some speed tests but I forgot to test Wi-Fi calling which I will need inside my work building. That works on T-Mobile just fine but I can't get it working on AT&T. I see you can bug AT&T but no since if I just go Verizon anyway.
Thanks!

WELL you would think but have you seen the AT&T thread about Wi-Fi calling on the unlocked Pixel 4 XL? GOOD LORD!
SO it seems AT&T blocks Wi-Fi calling on devices not *sold* by them so people are spending hours on the phone arguing with them and spoofing IMEI's to get it working. Some people are getting it done, others are sitting a wall and AT&T won't help.
Just wondering if Verizon pulls the same crap.

As far as I know as long as your phone isn't owed money... Meaning your not doing payments and you own the phone outright than yes. There is a setting under developer options called OEM Unlocking to unlock the phone from T-Mobile. Once unlocked from T-Mobile it will always unlock the bootloader.
At least that is what I read. I'm not sure how to do any of that anyway with rooting and such. I'm still trying to figure out how to screen recording on this phone.
Curious... Did an unlocked t mobile pixel 4 XL end up working fine on verizon? Like regular calls and data?
I am planning to purchase an S20 FE direct from Samsung. I am on Xfinity Mobile (Verizon MVNO). Xfinity now offers 5G. I usually purchase unlocked phones but not sure if this will work.
1. If I want 5g will I need to purchase the Verizon model?
2. Will I be able to use the Verizon "variant" on Xfinity without ever activating on Verizon?
I asked Samsung, Xfinity and Verizon and no accurate or definitive response.
Xfinity:"You need to purchase your phone from us", I am currently using unlocked S9 Plus not purchased from them
Samsung: "Verizon phones only work on Verizon and will not work on any other carrier" (agent did not know what an MVNO was)
Verizon: "All Verizon phones are sim-unlocked but you cannot use a Verizon phone on Xfinity because it will be network locked"
Thank You in advance for helpful replies.
If I'm not mistaken when you try to purchase Verizon phone you will need to have account at Verizon ..it will ask to login to verify existing user ...a d must activate on Verizon ... I'm also thinking their version phone has different 5G capabilities not 100 % sure though View attachment 5105831

Ok, Thanks, I never got that far on shop.samsung or I would not have asked the question, seems kind of moot now.
I did understand that Verizon variant of S20FE is mmWave. That is what Xfinity Mobile uses for 5G (Verizon towers) and why I wanted Verizon variant.
Seems the bottom line is I can't buy the Verizon variant without a Verizon account and the unlocked variant is 4G only on Xfinity... kind of deflates the value for me.

You wanting the 5G for future proof? Right now 5G you would be lucky if you found a good spot ...I'm on Verizon passed on their version and went unlocked ..
Yes, that is good point and same conclusion I came too. I figured Sammy was going to give me $350 for my s9+ it so for around $350 out of pocket I could get a decent phone that would last me another 2 years. I wanted mmWave 5G for future proof but I think even Verizon will have to build out sub-6 network eventually if I read correctly. I just looked at Vzw 5G map and it is not "34 Cities" as they claim, it is more like a few neighborhoods each in 34 cities.
