I just got my watch and starting using it yesterday.
I keep getting updates - constantly, and it kills my battery.
Why do I keep getting Android updates?

Same problem here.
Not happening here. App updates, I presume?
Same here. The Android version of my Watch was pretty old. Check in Settings - Info the software version. Mine changes from install to install and i still haven't LCA44B (latest) yet. So keep on charging and updating

Ive been having an overheating issue since updating to lollipop. The actual OTA update. My phone overheats on idle and the battery drain is certainly astounding. Is anyone elae having this issue or found a work-around or fix? Ita still early, but I'm checking nonetheless.

It could have been a bad update. I would do a manual update. Make sure to back up as it will completely wipe the device. Internal storage and all. With the new update that really is the only option that has caused no issues at all.
And before someone says well whats the point of an OTA? There isnt one and no one that knows does it manually and doesnt go near an OTA.
Alright. Thanks... I'll try that and see what happens.
I'm getting really mixed reviews for the lollipop update lately. Some love it, some hate it, some haven't even gotten it. I'm just curious towards the majority of opinions for the new update. So, should we or should we not update?
For me, it was great. Everything worked fine and you get the awesomeness of Android Lollipop. I've seem some people with problems with Xposed, but I don't use that.

Have you noticed any performance problems? Like slow menus or animations? I myself don't have the update, but that's a common problem I hear.
I tried it for short, but it was quite somewhat laggy and not as fast as I am now used to have on custom roms.
But I am interested what other users got to say
Lollipop and KitKat from LG both has terrible RAM management. I had to restart my phone every 48h to stop it from restarting my apps.
Besides that it's quite a good ROM. Very stable, bug free. Workes much faster than KitKat.

No, to me, it's faster than kitkat, but that might be because I flashed the kdz then reset the phone. I don't use CM because video recording doesn't work.
So after rooting my l90's I noticed my OTA updated one was at least 5 times slower than my offline updated ones. This is not an exaggeration, while installing an app, I was able to remove apps on my other phone, and install the same app, before the app finally installed on the OTA updated phone. That's just the start, menus are slower and there is tons of lag. I'm not sure exactly if it's the OTA that is the issue, but all of my l90s are at most a month old, and were purchased at the same time, so I doubt it's hardware. The firmware of the ota is identical to the offline updated, although I can't definitively determine if updating over the air is the issue because I only have one phone with the OTA. That being said I have also reflashed the same firmware with the offline method onto the ota, and it has made no changes.
My phone has been doing this for days now. Stock, L29 B120. I've stripped out any recent installed apps. Is anyone else suffering?
Thanks

First, update it. Second, built in Facebook application could be to blame. Disable it, but first, update your phone.

I have never used Facebook and the build I have is the latest afaik, when I check for update it says none available. It got steadily worse so I've returned it today to Amazon and ordered an s8. P10 was nice phone, shame it started rebooting. Thanks for helping!
My phone has been on (has not turned off or restarted) in 80+ days. Nothing much else to share. Still working great! The only issue I have noticed is that my battery is dying a lot faster than before. May be related to not restarting, but I'm not sure.
What about during OTA updates?

Hey! That is the downfall. I had not received an OTA update since I flashed to a UK version (for the fingerprint scanner).
I ended up restarting the phone after 100 days. Phone did a great job. Also, I recently flashed another custom firmware so that I could acquire the September 2018 update. The battery life on this phone is incredible (after the September update).
I got the update today. TCL is not advertising it when you check for update, and still says none available. But when it went to update manually, it showed up. No problems with download or installation. Actually seems to run a bit faster. Less bloat. Still evaluating.
I'm not too impressed with the phone...a little erratic at times and I have to reboot. Just got a notification for system update v3.0.8BHJ. Maybe that will help.
