Maybe I bricked my z3c? Or near enough? - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just bought a used z3c and was trying to root it and install a custom rom using these directions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343
I got to step 12 in the list: Flashtool said that I had completed flashing fw 23.0.A.2.93:
Code:

When I rebooted, the screen remained black/blank/not powered. The power button is responsive: if I long press power/volume up, it buzzes three times and I guess I'm in flashmode? But again, the screen doesn't turn on. Just pressing the power button does not always get a buzz. Its hard to tell if its on or off without a screen.
When I try to connect via flashtool, I get this:
Code:
30/037/2016 18:37:09 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
30/037/2016 18:37:09 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode

30/038/2016 18:38:26 - INFO - Device disconnected
As the debugging is turned off, adb does not work, and so I can't run the gieroot program. As the screen is inoperable, I can't set usb debugging off again.
Does anybody have any thoughts or guidance? Where do I go from here?

The three times buzzing thing actually means you have force turned off the phone.
Try flashing a MM ROM to the device, normally try to boot into flashmode by holding the volume down while plugging jt in etc.
If that doesn't work I think it is hard-bricked but I am not much of a pro so maybe someone in the forums will help you if this doesn't work.

Make Sure your cable is proper. Do not connect your mobile until flashtool prepared for your mobile otherwise it will go out of the flash mode
When the file is prepared then connect your mobile and once connect do not touch the USB cable.
My USB cable is very sensitive to my touch.

fully charged fo sure. thats why this is so baffling
If you have an AntiVirus, disable it's realtime scan momentarily, or exclude USB auto-scanning until you finish flashing. I have BitDefender Internet Security and it often causes the exact same thing to happen.

sigh still nothing. the phone keeps disconnecting itself. and when i try to turn it on normally, all i see is a momentary flash of the led at the bottom and then nothing.
Are your flashmode drivers are installed?
Open device manager and connect in flashmode.
And check whether those drivers are installed or not.

As I can see, your phone isn't turned off.
There is an OFF button under back cover. Press and hold it for a few second until 3 vibrates. After that flash the phone.

Huge Problems, help!!

Hi
I bought the ZR a month ago, but opened the box about 3 weeks ago, , I updated it to 4.3 via OTA freshly out of the box.
It was working fine until last week, got one messsage "android phone stopped working" once, then I wasn't able to hear when calling or recieving a call. Everything else was still working.
Now, two days ago I turn it off and on, the phone goes up to locked homescreen and then screen goes black and restarts automatically. This repeats indefinetly, if I don't turn it off as soon as the homescreen appears, I have to remove the battery because power key doesnt responds.
I got the phone from an ebay seller
I live in Peru.
Excuse my english.

Switch off your Xperia ZR first
Press and hold the Volume Down button
Connect to your PC using a USB Cable while holding down the Volume Down button on your Xperia ZR
Before plugging in the USB cable on your Xperia ZR make sure that the other end of USB cable is already connected to the PC.
Your Xperia ZR should be in Flash Mode now and the device’s LED light should turn into Green

That's impossible. Go to Flashtool folder. U will find the driver folder and Flashtool-drivers.exe to be run to install the required driver for ZR. Run it and tick the nessesary driver and clicked installed and u're done.

Are you on windows 8?. Windows 8 requires some special steps to install the xperia A drivers. You have to disable the driver signature enforcement first then install the drivers.
I don't know about ZR but your log says USB debugging is off .
So enable USB debugging.
And make sure you are not in mtp mode in USB connectivity

I can't do that, the phone freezes at homescreen and the it restarts

OK... I will tell about my case.
I bought the ZR in august 2013. It was rooted and flashed to 4.2.2. Everything worked fine. Until January 2014.
The first problem was - Silence during calls. I was not able to hear something. And my voice was not heard on the other side. In tests microphone and dynamic worked fine. External dynamic and earphones did not change something - silence during call remained.
After some time (phone was on and off... and again... and battery was removed some times) problem disappeared. But after one day it came back. And disappeared again... and came back... and so on for few times. The other functions all the time worked good. I only was not able to talk during calls.
I flashed the phone to 10.4.1.B.0.101... and to some previous firmwares by Flashtool. But nothing changed.
The next stage after some days was: I turned the phone off. And after turning on it was not been able to see the network. And wifi was not working. I went to settings and saw - IMEI and MAC have disappeared.
I flashed phone to 10.4.1.B.0.101 again. Nothing changed.
And after a little time phone said something like: "the system application stopped" ( I did not remember exactly). And than after rebooting it went into:
"the phone goes up to locked homescreen and then screen goes black and restarts automatically".
I think our cases may have one problem in basis. And I think the problem is in hardware. Because i flashed my phone for some times and flashtool did not said something about errors and drivers was ok.
I will go to service center. But I think they are not very good in fixing phones here...
Any thoughts?
Problem was solved. Sony changed some electronic parts of my phone. Now it works good. It was the hardware dysfunction.

[Q] phone won't charge

my phone ran out of battery, then i plug it into charge but nothing happen,
when i check my charger with other phone the charger. is work
then i test to connect to my pc and open flash tool nothng happen,
then i try to turn on my phone, it is on for a while and the flash tool recognize it.
then the phone shut off again.
and still wont charging.
what should i do?
the battery is really empty right now..
Hang it for atleast 24hrs to the charger. There will be no led light indicating anything but it will charge.
After that restart it..
If this does not happen then the usb connector is broken (I had the same issue)

For me Flashtool works better because via the log you can see what is going on
From what I get your device is booting into flashmode but only for a short time. You could try to hold the volume down button a bit longer.

[Q] Why can't my Sony Xperia Z1 can't enter flashmode properly?

Hello everyone!
My C6903 (rooted, unlocked bootloader, cwm working, drivers properly installed on computer) is currently on a bootloop. It works in fastboot but it can't enter flashmode properly. During this process the led lighting on my device is not on green light its just dead but in fastboot its blue all the time. it show this log

10/012/2014 22:12:35 - INFO - Device disconnected
after that my phone would just boot up and get stuck on a bootloop again.
Additional question. In flashtool there are 2 options when we hit the lightning button, the flashmode and the fastboot mode. Can i use the fastboot to flash the ftf file? If yes what are the safe steps?
Help please! Thanks!
Give more infor.
What did you do before this happend, what you wanted to do.
Check your usb cable to see if you have a loose pin.that can cause the device to get disconnected(from experience),just try to push in the usb cable when flashing
Fixed
I have fixed it guys! Thank you all!
I flashed cyanogenmod and then connected my device while its on, running flashtool. just choose your device on the options that pops up. and just wait.
INFO - Running installftkit as root thru sysrun
I was stuck on the log above for several minutes and i just disconnected my device.
i run flashtool again but first I clicked the lightning button then flashmode.
Choose your ftf file then flash it.
wait for the prompt from flashtool to connect your device.
connect your device (it should be off) while holding the volume down
the process should start smoothly now.

Driver Issue Flash Mode

Hey everyone,
Have a bit of a major problem with my Xperia SP right now and I am hoping someone can help. I originally was on Windows 8.1 and had some major issues with the system, among one of these when I tried to install Flashtool drivers from the included file, I had to go through all the resetting and reinstalling to get driver enforcement off however when the drivers installed I connected my device and it was fine.
Then I tried to put the phone in Flash Mode and everything was going downhill, basically I connected my phone as I had done a thousand times previously on windows 7 and the phone would go green for about 3 seconds then red light and go into charging mode. If this was done when requested from flashtool it would detect it was connected but I get an error with loader.sin as below....

Now in normal circumstances this means your bootloader cannot be unlocked right? However my bootloader is unlocked.... and confirmed by service menu and also I have been using unlocked bootloader ROM's....
So anyway I eventually had enough of Windows 8 and went back to Windows 7 (separate partitions are a beautiful thing ) and tried again.... same process same result. The best bit is on both systems I cannot forcefully uninstall any phone drivers because i just get an endless loop of failures unless I do it before connecting the phone once to the computer. The way the phone reacts in flashtool is as if the phone is permentantly in Flash Mode however its not and still stays the same way until I reboot my computer.
I have tried factory resetting the phone, I have tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling but nothing is working. I even tried a different cable just in case and nothing. This only affects flash mode or the entire phone once flash mode has been activated once and then it affects the entire system and wont allow me to restart normally without pressing the reset button on my case even if the phone isn't connected and I also cannot do anything with the drivers anymore at this point.
I am actually trying to relock my bootloader and go back to stock as I will be selling the phone later this week. I flashed a cut down stock ROM from XDA using recovery but now its flashed I no longer have recovery either since it was stock and I have no root privileges now xD
Ideally what I am aiming for is to relock bootloader through flashmode, then use sony tool to reinstall full official firmware. This issue also happens with Sony tool by the way.
Any Suggestions greatly appreciated!!!!

Would you like to use a Linux version of Flashtool? I will guide you from the very Live USB booting, UDEV implementation, and lastly the flashing process
Though please note I am quite busy, so my replies will be quite slow.
