When I'm at work, I turn WiFi off for the phone. However in the battery stats page, it always shows as on. Any reason for this or a bug?
try this, go to settings, wifi, menu, advanced and uncheck scanning always available

Have the same problem(if it is a genuine problem) but till date found nothing concrete about it. Some say it is a bug which indicates wrong status of WiFi even if WiFi is off and it's true I guess Since I observed WiFi status using both settings chart and GSam Battery Monitor. In GSam it shows WiFi is not active but in the setting battery chart the bar is always on.
This bug maybe is due to the scenario when u are connected to a network using WiFi and go out of range without switching off WiFi but the WiFi battery indicator still thinks it is connected and it shows it on the chart.
Maybe you can try this, connect to the same WiFi network and then switch off the WiFi when still in range and then see what the battery chart shows.
I was thinking about replacing my phone although my battery backup is good but I guess it's just a graph indicator bug from what I observed using GSam Battery Monitor. But still u can try what I said and do report back with what u find, it will help other people and me.
All the best
Happy New Year

I'm running Cezar's ROM, and I'm having a terrible time with battery life. As most people who use the ROM report fantastic battery life, I installed OSMonitor to see if I could find the culprit.
In the "Message" panel of OSMonitor, I keep getting a lot of repeated messages saying:
[Warning]
SSS: ROAM ~~~~~~~~~~~
[ERROR]
eth0 (WE) : Invalid/Unknown Wireless Event (0x8C0A)
Could this be something to do with my battery drain?

Take a look here.
In post #2 there are some links to threads about the issue. I don't know much about it but an extremely short term fix is to turn WiFi off.
In some post they talk about it being a samsung bug in JPY. In another it's said it can be fixed but I don't remember seeing a solution anywhere yet.
EDIT: After reading more about the wifi bug... it looks like what you have and they have may be unrelated. Sorry. It might still be worth turning off wifi to see if you get a better battery though.

Will fix it in my next addon.
Thanks to both of you. Crossing my fingers that this wifi bug is the cause of my miserable battery - I'll turn wifi off when possible now and wait for the fix
Hello
I have this device since yestarday, And what I have noticed that battery drain is huge even when I don't use BT for smartwach, NFC, cellular internet or any other things. With very low usage battery runs out very fast.
Does anyone else have such problem with this device? is it something common?
Well i noticed that, after work around 3 p.m. i had 60% battery and now i have like 30%, very weird
I turned off double-tap-to-wake feature and I'll see if it change anything.
It's not that. It depends on the version you are running. If it's android core apps fault, then you must replace the messaging and dialing apps with some apps from play store. You can see which process is draining that much battery from checking the battery consumption in settings menu.
I have partially solved the problem by disabling double-tap feature and also the one that prevents phone from random actions in the pocket.
I have only few apps intalled and eveything that I don't use is disabled. I'm not going to root my device yet, but I will debloat it someday.
What apps may be disabled? Thanks

Almost everything you don't use.
I disabled those:

Same problem
Firstly I'm a noob in all these developer kind of things. I dont even know what bootloader means and i dont know how to check the status whether its locked or unlocked. I'll give u all the details of the status of my mobile and let me know whether i can get it back to normal status. The issues i'm facing right now are a lot and briefly:
1) First the primary camera stopped working while i was taking a pic from "evernote" app. It worked for a couple of times accidentally after that but again stopped finally. Whenever i start camera it says "Camera error, Pls restart the camera"
2) The flash light error came after a few days. I can just start the flash light from the drop down menu of the android lolllipop and after that the icon disappears from that dock. I had to restart the phone to turn it off. (Recently i found turning on the camera while flash light is on can turn the flash light off. Anyways the camera doesnt work)
3) The wifi when i turn on it works and when i turn it off it shows turned off. But when i see the battery status and check the usage details I can see battery is being used for wifi also. and when i restart my device i can see the wifi is turned off from the battery usage too.
My device is Moto X First Gen AT&T factory unlocked bought from amazon.com and i'm using it in India.
I've done all the basic things from internet to solve these but none worked. Like reset mobile,clear cache partition. But a friend suggested that install a custom rom or stock rom and try it may solve the problem. Someone please tell me or provide necessary links to proceed further.

Hey, my battery performance isn't great on OnePlus 3t with stock rom. WhenI look at the stats I can see constant activity bar. Is that something normal? If not, how can I fix it?

And that's my top apps, most of the juice went into Android system and Google apps
You have bad signal. Your phone is constantly searching for signal so it drains a lot of battery
That's right, I was in an underground location. However, the activity bar is almost always blue, even when the phone signal was ok. Is that something I should be worried about?

are you on latest oxygen os? you can also try clearing cache from recovery and let the phone settle for a couple of days and if the problem is still there try hard resetting your phone.
I am on the latest OxygenOS. Let me try clearing cache and let you know

check out the thread in my signature. I've been battling battery issues for a while. Common issues I have run across: either swiftkey keyboard or gboard keyboard (both drain battery), google app/now feed being enabled has done a similar thing (see the last page of that thread).
Hope you figure it out!
You could try this
Hello everyone, today I woke-up with my phone pretty much dead, with only 1% of battery. The weird thing is that before bed, the battery percentage was around 70ish percent.
Here's a screenshot of the battery usage:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Some details to help me figure it out the issue:
Auto optimize daily is on.
Auto restart at set times is on (it restarted around the time that the battery percentage drops to the floor).
Adaptative power saving is off.
Background usage limits is configured properly.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance!
it's possible the Google services was running (updates and such) and used up a lot of the battery. Google being the OS developer tends to run quite a lot of things in the back without users knowing, and this is quite normal. As to draining such large amount, is your location in a poor data coverage area? if you are, then the phone likely was using extra battery to strengthen the signal. Note that even with wifi connection, data is still used for some activities by the phone.
if this keeps persisting then Google is probably not the culprit and you'll want to report the issue right away to samsung using samsung members app > get help > error report. just be sure to see the drain and immediately report.
Also, I've seen some users install 3rd party apps to track in finer detail on what is using the battery the most. I myself do not know as I don't use it, but you can easily find some recommendations on Reddit i think.
