Anyone have the N910T3UVS3EPK2 Modem? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Mother in law just updated to N910T3UVS3EPK2, and she no longer has any service. IMEI is fine, but Service State is Radio Off, searching for networks returns an error, etc. It's also recognizing the Sim because it says no sim if you take it out. I tried to flash via odin back the EPJ2 modem, but it failed. I also tried flashing EPJ2, and that also failed. I'm wondering if the Modem didn't get upgraded in the latest OTA? I'd like to try flashing the newest modem for N910T3UVS3EPK2, but I haven't found it anywhere.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Download the stock "EPK2" firmware, remove the ".md5" extension and extract the contents. Look inside, find the "modem.bin" file, and then flash it in Odin in the third slot. Odin can flash .bin files but only if loaded in the third slot (CP). I looked but I couldn't find the extracted bootloader/baseband set anywhere either.

[Q] Flashing JH2 problems

Alright, I'm pretty uniformed when it comes to these things, but as it stands I need some help. I have a Bell Galaxy S (GT-I9000M) that I unlocked to use on Telus and then rooted a month later in an attempt to trouble shoot a reception issue (don't ask). Trouble shooting failed and now I'm trying to get the circumvent the warranty issues by trying to re-flash back to the stock bell ROM, which is from what I can tell the I9000UGJH2. I downloaded it from (samfirmware). I'm trying to use Odin and am having some troubles. When I extract the file there is only a single .tar file inside (I9000UGJH2-PDA-Kernel-Bootloader-CL490514-Low). As such I am unclear as to what to enter for the PDA/PHONE/CSC fields. I assume this file is the PDA, and inside is the modem file if I look. Do I need to extract this to use in the modem field? I'm so confused.
Also, a couple of things. Ive had 'success' flashing using just the the one file in the PDA field, as well as that plus the modem file found inside extracted and selected in the MODEM field. HOWEVER, in both attempts though it seem to boot into the OS fine, neither recognize my SIM card. Clearly this is some sort of failure. Any suggestions?
Oh, and yes, I can get into download mode. That's the only reason I'm fiddling.
since the phone boots into the OS
and you have the 3 buttons working
you can try flashing it back to stock (JH2) using KIES
and see if you can get it to recognize your Telus SIM card with that.
before you go ahead, do you have friends or family with Fido or Rogers SIM you can try?
just to make sure it's not a Telus SIM card problem
I'm pretty sure I did flash it to the stock JH2. When I plug into kies and search for firmware updates it says there are none. Am I doing something wrong?
maybe if I flash the update prior to JH2? Then it will see it need an update and go to town?
on the registry just change all the JH2 references to JG9
then it will offer you JH2 for "upgrade"
or you can use this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=799810&highlight=i9000m
done and done. used the regedit. prompted to update. did so. loads the galaxy s screen, then goes to black. i kind of want to kill myself ;(
try booting into recovery mode and wipe data + wipe cache
see if it can boot after that

[Q] Mobile Network Not Available

I have this galaxy mini (GT-S5570), it was network locked to "H3G, Italy", I unlocked it by extracting the bml5 file method, it worked for some networks though but not all the networks. Then I flashed some other stock firmwares through Odin just to check if all the networks works but no dice, they didn't. I then flashed back my Original stock firmware downloaded from sammobile.com and since then my mini don't show any network, i have tried different sims but none of them works now, phone is unlocked though, it just shows a sim card with (!) and when try to make a call it says "mobile network not available", efs folder is ok it shows the correct imei. I have tried flashing different roms with different modems even updated the firmware with kies but no luck, Please any solutions will be highly appreciated. Pictures attached.

-Which firmware should i flash ? (Currently i am on my stock firmware)
-where should i download multiple package firmwares ? i downloaded few but they were all "one package firmware", so there is no way not to flash modem.
-thanks for your response.
i got 4 packages firmware including modem, actually on my pc. it s european firmware though (it s like xwktn). i downloaded it long time ago. i ve found it on some web when i was googling about upgrade 2.3.7 ... or something, i dont remember.
those package help me so much, fixing my sd card, unbrickin softbrick, even downgrade to froyo.
well, it must be somewhere on internet or here in xda (i ve read some thread bout it).

I have tried around 10+ different firmwares of different regions, networks didn't work on any of them. do you think flashing any firmware without modem would work ? if yes can you please upload that multiple file package firmware ? i searched but couldn't find any with multiple files.

What does Secure Check Fail (Radio) mean?

A few days ago, I got an update for my Samsung Note 5 (SM-N920V) which is currently running Nougat, from Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant. I tried to run the update from my laptop and the update failed. I tried to run the repair and the repair failed. The error my phone was showing was "Secure Check Fail (Radio)." My device was bricked. I tried using Kies and SmartSwitch, but still get Secure Check Fail (Radio). I tried using ODIN, but still the error would show "Secure Check Fail (Radio)" at the end of the download. After using ODIN to download just the PIT file, it's working again, but I have in the settings "Service Provider: KT twophone service" and only have CDMA option for mobile networks (no APN settings). I was previously using this on a GSM network (not one of the big names).
Does anyone know what the "Secure Check Fail (Radio)" means?
Or how to get GSM access back on the phone?
(I am not trying to root the phone, I just want the stock Verizon version back!!)

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

SM-N960U Stuck In Roaming After Moving From Sprint To Verizon

Hi
I have a Note 9 which was originally purchased through Sprint. It's carrier unlocked. After moving the phone to Verizon it remains stuck in Roaming. Technicians at Verizon store clam they've never seen this problem before.
The network's shown as "Preferred System." Factory reset did not help.
I think the phone has Sprint firmware since the Sprint logo shows upon restart.
What works on phone:
Incoming / Outgoing Calls
Internet [around 60MBps]
SMS messages
What's broke:
MMS messages using default "Messaging" application
My wife's pretty upset about this problem.
I am running Linux Mint and familiar with Heimdall.
Do I need to flash Verizon firmware onto this phone?

Since you've already done a factory reset I would think the next logical step is to flash the Verizon or the unlocked firmware. What about the SIM card, did they try a new one?
They only tried one SIM.
When flashing with Heimdal do I simply need to download the Verizon firmware from SamMobile?

There is a thread somewhere in the guide section I recall seeing before from daillcyruz (I think was the OP). Search it and you will find instructions on how to install the VZ firmware.
I am getting an error with Heimdall that there's no firmware.xml.
Indeed the firmware from SamFiles does not contain any xml files.
Any idea how these can be obtained? Goggle does not seem to help.

I ran across a thread where someone had posted a version of Odin that ran on Linux.
Here's one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/utility-odin-linux-jodin3-casual-t3777030
and another: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/odin4-v1-0-linux-t3782930
None of these work. I am not able to get the PIT from device.

you might be able to use odin in wine.. i never tried it tho.. heimdall i havent got to work either..
what firmware are you on? pie is pretty good at switchin csc based on sim inserted.. also crk3 i think it is you can access the csc.apk and change csc easily to any csc.. i havent found any other firmware it works on tho besides crk3..
if u can manage that, theres update.zips you can adb sideload but u need to b on specific firmware versions to update to certain firmwares..
i was messin around with firmwares and changed my csc to sprint.. i have vzw.. although it says roaming i am connected to verizon network so dont think its actually roaming but im not 100% sure
OK
Thanks everyone for help!
I was able to successfully flash using a Windows 10 VM running in Oracle VirtualBox VM. I used Odin v3.13_B. I did not re-partition.
I used this firmware:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note9/SM-N960U/VZW/download/N960USQS1ARJ9/242777/
There were no errors though after the phone rebooted it said there was an "unauthorized attempt" to install software.
It then tells me to connect to Wifi in order to verify my identity.
I cannot skip this process.
The Sprint firmware still seems to be present as I see Sprint applications. I am still roaming on Verizon though the port request was completed at least that's what they said at the store.
Interestingly the Sprint logo does not appear upon booting phone. Only the Samsung logo.
To remove Sprint firmware do I need to flash to the non-carrier firmware first before trying Verizon?
I sounds like someone else had the same problem with the SM-N960U.
The solution in that thread seems to be using the SM-N960U1 firmware.
Can anyone confirm this would be a safe fix to try?
SamMobile is a horrible website
I paid the 8 euro fee and the download for https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note9/SM-N960U1/VZW/download/N960U1UES1ARJ9/244757/ still takes like an hour.
It seems there's some Google phone protection targeted to deter thieves. That could be why it requires me to sign into the previous Google account after flashing.
I am removing my Google account from the phone, doing factory reset, then will try to flash Verizon firmware.
After flashing again it looks like some software called "Sprint OMDAM" still present on the phone. This loads after flashing. When I try to activate on network it comes up while the phone remains in roaming. Again Sprint unlocked the phone.
Should I re-partition?
OK
I wiped the cache partition and did factory reset.
I will yet again try another flash.
The Sprint logo is gone but Sprint apps still remain.
Should I try to re-partition the phone? I don't understand why Sprint applications are showing up when I flash Verizon firmware using Odin.
Make sure you have a Verizon SIM card in the phone.
1. Remove your accounts (Google and Samsung) under settings.
2. Factory reset under settings.
3. Download the U1 firmware using the SamFirm tool
4. Using modded ODIN 3.13.1B flash all four files (use CSC_OYN not the HOME_CSC file).
Optional, if you want WiFi calling and VoLTE:
Download the VZW N960U firmware using the SamFirm tool and flash it the same way using modded ODIN, but this time include the USERDATA file as well.
I think now on Verizon network after using U1 firmware!

No network connection after flash stock rom

Hi, the device in question was stuck in a boot loop and to remedy this i flashed what i thought to be the correct stock rom. Once booted there is a no network connection message and selecting either network operator option shows an error. I have tried multiple firmwares from frija and all have the same issue.
The device is vodafone Ireland which i understand to have the csc VDI which i could not find the firmware for and so far i have flashed with:
a715fxxu1ata7ovf (OVF)
SM-A715F_1_20210118192134_266igcbq71_fac (3IE)
SM-A715F_1_20201119163504_ray32ge5xc_fac (XEU)
SM-A715F_1_20210118192034_dsfkrkwb0t_fac (OVF)
Attached are the the output of *#1234# and *#0011#*
If someone has a vodafone ireland a71 could they post the output of *#1234# so i can see the current correct AP, CP and CSC, point me to the correct firmware, or give any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You speak like you didn't flash the correct ROM. Did you try flashing ROM from this site?
I'm sure you will find the correct ROM there.
I think either this or this should work.
There's a chance you corrupted the EFS, can you check if your device has an IMEI?
If it doesn't then you unfortunately have a corrupted EFS folder and you need to flash your stock ROM.
If it does then you can check the APN and other cellular data settings if it's set or not.
