Hey guys.
I tried some ways to install Beta Firmware starting at L09C432B322 finishing at B360 and all the time dload shows fail.
My previous P9 was registered in Beta program, but after update it got bricked and service replaced it for new defect-free model.
I got it unfortunately at 2nd December and Beta Program was closed...
Now I try to install all ROMs with Nougat Beta and all the time Dload returns "Install Error" depending of update type.
For example: B360 - 5% install failed
B322 - 37% install failed.
I don't want to unlock by bootloader, because it's quite a new phone.
Do you guys maybe have any ideas how can I install beta? I really liked new EMUI 5 and some SystemUI improvements.
If there's any way which will work, please write it down step-by-step. I desperately want Nougat on my P9.
Currently I'm on EVA-L09C432B182
Or.. If it's not possible, I can install it via TWRP. But.. How's the things with relocking bootloader?
I am on the same build L09C432B182, Downloading the beta software returns error at 5%.
I am set as joined inside BETA programme.
so im guessing there is more to this.
hopefully someone knows

Hi all,
I'm trying to upgrade my P9 to the latest software build but I've hit a brick wall. The phone is currently on L09C432B182 software version.
My phone was originally branded to EE (C440), but I followed the guide posted here to debrand it to C432. This was successful and after getting to B136 firmware I then got the updates to B166 and B182 in succession.
I've been using B182 for a couple of months, and all is working fine, but I've now got the urge to try Nougat. The problem is, all of the methods I've tried seem not to work.
- Huawei built in Updater app says no updates available
- Hisuite says no updates available
- Using the "Huawei Updater" via Hisuite/proxy method doesn't work as Hisuite is saying no internet connection (I think the custom ROM URLs are no longer valid)
- Using the Firmware Finder app and proxy add-on method gets me further in that I can download the updates (B360 or B361) in the built in Updater app and the phone will successfully verify them; however in all cases the installation fails at 5% due to "Software update failed! Failed to check the package"
- As a last resort, I tried extracting the update.app files from downloaded firmware, mounting in SD card/dload and then using the Dialer method to install from SD card; this also fails with a "Software update failed!" error
Has anyone had this issue when trying to upgrade from B182 and if so, did you manage to resolve it?
Thanks in advance
Nick
Don't try Nougat the battery life is ****
I tried the hisuite and Huawei updater route and got the no internet connection all the time. I gave up and went back to the firmware finder and tried to download B386 using the proxy method. This came back with failed to download. By random choice I checked the updater app on the phone to download latest full package. This immediately brought up and download the B386 firmware and it installed without a problem with no loss of data. Just to check it wasn't a bit of luck I did the same with the wife's phone and it worked the same way . As for battery life I don't see any problems with it
Hello guys, as the tittle says my Huawei P10 ( VTR-L09) is stucked in that version (8.0.0.046 (04VT)), this occurred when I tried to update from Nougat to Oreo and after that I get the previusly oreo version metionated.
I want to update to the last version of Oreo for Huawei P10... so for this reason I try tutorials like "update oreo to oreo" and "rollback oreo to nougat (to update again after that)"
and in all the cases when I try to install the files with TWRP i get the same error... "MD5 file not found, skipping MD5 file" (I already checked the TWRP options) and after that the installation starts, stuck in 6% and send me an error message... and everything still in the same place....
I'm writing this thread because I have searched in all the web with no success... and i just want update to the newest version of Android my phone...
I will aprecciate sincerely all your advices to solve this problem that is freaking me out since 3 weeks ago...
PS: I'm Spanish speaker, so if you want you can write any help in Spanish.
THANKS

Hi,
I have the same problem, I have VTR-L09 8.0.0.046 (04VT). I've been reading another post and I found the solution of Rebranding. I have not tested yet because I cant find the correct TWRP for Oreo that allows me to do a backup of my oeminfo just in case.
Did you find another solution?
Hi all
I picked up a second hand Huawei P9, (EVA-L19) my intention was to unlock the bootloader & flash a custom version of Android 9 or 10 on it.
I unlocked the bootloader via the DC method, and loaded TWRP, and wiped the previous firmware...
Only during the process, I realised I needed to update the phone to the latest stock version of Nougat first, and then upgrade it to Oreo, and then load the custom firmware... I have struggled to find stock software that works. I have used TWRP, the multi tool, and other programs such as firmware extractor, the HUR updater and I just cannot find anything 100% working. On top of that, there seems to be a problem with the battery, not sure if it is firmware related, or I need to get a new battery. The phone stays on for 2 minutes before the battery dies.
I have managed with the HUR updater & huawei-firmware.com to get a version of Nougat installed, it seems to boot, but the keyboard doesn't work, and any attempt to reset it gives me the explanation mark in the recovery menu.
The phone is a South African version of the L19.
My intention would be to get the phone back to working version of stock, then follow the correct proceedures, and update to Oreo, and then custom again. If the battery still gives issues, I will replace it.
Please help, running out of patience.
Thanks
Hi all,
How are you?
I have spent soooo many hours trying to upgrade my new old stock Huawei P9 EVA-L09, its driving me absolutely crazy. When I bought it, like an idiot, I didn't check the Android Version, which I discovered was 6. So, I did oodles of research, gathered the right tools, downloaded the suggested updates and started.
I successfully upgraded to the latest android 6 (L09C432B210), but I tried many versions of Android 7, but to no avail. I eventually found a version of Android 7 called 'L09C432B322' that worked, but when I checked it says 'NRD90M test-keys', which is EMUI 5, Android 7; it is a fully functioning version of Android 7 but it is a pre-release version I believe, and neither the 'Files' option nor the 'Update' option are available on it, which is a pain. I have now tried a total of 23 different update versions, but no success, and with exactly the same issue with the update process, saying that it cannot update using that version (not precise wording!).
A couple of days ago I accidentally ended up on the phone update screen, the one with the big circle, while I was trying to get in to TWRP (fat fingers...). It sat there for an age doing absolutely nothing (aside from the circle spinning), not even failing, and I didnt even have an update file in 'dload' on my SD Card (not that I'm aware of), so I pressed the power button and shut it off. Now when I try to update, using either update.app via manual update or update.zip via HWOYA7, any update at all tbh, even old ones that I know failed but at least the update file was seen by the phone & process, it tells me the install failed and 'the update package does not exist'. I thought it may be a file extension association issue in Windows 10 (not sure how, just clutching at straws), so I reset the associations to Windows default, but that did not work. At around about the same time of the update issue starting, I couldn't say for sure when as I wasn't paying enough attention, I started using the HWOTA7 tool, which too gave the same result of 'the update package does not exist'.
Did HWOTA7 cause this? Did I cause this inadvertantly? Has a broken update.app caused this? I simply do not know and am hoping one of you fine people may be able to help me. Is the process looking in a different place to where either HWOTA7 puts the file (not changed from default) or where I put the file (SD Card 'dload')?
The reason I'm trying to update is because Android 7 is no longer supported by Google and one by one apps are disappearing from Google Play, so I'd like to update to Android 8 (Oreo). There lays another fine issue as I cannot find a version of it anywhere, not since Huawei removed the updates from its site a couple of years back. Not that any update will work of course...
I've never known a phone to be so difficult to get the correct software for and to ultimately upgrade. I even managed to update an LG G5 around 2 years ago when there were no official updates, but this Huawei P9 is just silly...
I think the update process should be this, update to the latest possible Android 6 then 7 for the P9, rebrand to the AL10 and, update to the chinese Oreo and then overlay the Kirin fix (I think); is that correct?
Thanks folks.
Paul.
Hey @vorlockfoss can you send me the B322 that you have found in order to update from B210 Marshmallow to Nougat?
Huawei's firmware servers were taken down only last quarter of 2020 so october/november/december 2020 around those months.
Hi W00fer,
How are you?
B322 is the version I downgraded from, back to C900B300. If you have B210 then you'll need B386;
HWOTA.zip | by Tecalote for P9
there are instructions in the folder. It includes the full firmware for EVA-L09 C432 B386 - for update from Android 6 to Android 7. For example from b182 or b210 to b386.
androidfilehost.com
I've responded more completely to your other message, so if you need further advice it may be better to reply there and I'll do what I can to help. I will update this thread after we've finished, just to keep it tidy.
Thanks,
Paul.
Hello pipul I stoicly still run with a Huawei P7 Ascend (series number: P7-L10V100R001C00B623. andoid version: 4.4.2. Emui version:3).. Today Whats App is not working anymore and cannot update it because "your device is not compatible". A cold wake-up. I red online tha whatsapp don't work anymore with olld version of Android, I would like to try to upgrade to Android 5. I saw online that this update is even officilaly possible, as already in 2015 Huawei was rolling out the update directly to phone's updater. Unfortunately in my updater there are no new update one can install. But I see in the updater in settings that there's option to install "locally", with update being placed in the sd card. I'd like to ask you guys the best way for me to install the (official) version of Android 5 for this device, where I can find the software, if there's a particular guide etc. (ps. I ask you also the noob question, that if I need to backup my data priorly as they might be lost in the process, and what are the best app for the P7 to do the full backup). Thank you so much for the help you can give me !!
