So I guess Htc/VZ decided to release the source: http://member.america.htc.com/download/RomCode/Source_and_Binaries/incrediblec_cc1c2268.tar.bz2
good luck.

We have been down this road before with several other devices...
HTC has ALWAYS released the source code....within a few months or so.
You can email all you want, but your going to get generic responses, and its going to be released anyways.
The phone is only available for pre-order and its not even the 29th yet...so give them sometime.
Cheers!
Will having the kernel source for the Incredible make rooting the device easier because of the potential for "work arounds".
From what Paul is saying over at Modaco, it seems HTC is going out of their way to make the Desire and Incredible "more secure"... which means locking down bootloader, kernel, etc. More of a pain for rooting... agh!

No worries at all man
Glad to see you getting involved...
We blasted HTC before with thousands of emails, and even got News sources involved, but since all that they have always released the source codes within a few months or so.
Cheers!
Droid Eris was released on 11/6/09; kernel source code is still not released.

I should have been more clear. I was referring too 2.1, but since that's not technically released on the eris yet, my whole post is wrong.
Nothing to see here, move along!

LOL...good job catching yourself
My my I think it worked. Congrats!!
Its a marketing strategy because they know people are going to mod it anyway, so this way if people mod it, they are more inclined to stay with the device and HTC.

talk to FAUX123... whos willing to donate enough for an XZ. just curious....
If anyone who doesnt know about FAUX, just know he's a damn genius, and he make amazing Kernel for Nexus 4 and other devices.
i think doomlord is doing fine
I've been a fan of his kernels on all my devices, shame he doesn't have an XZ.
Too broke to donate atm

So what are you guys missing?
Really, what do you expect from a modified kernel?!?
If it's something important for more than 2 users: Why don't you talk to doomlord? maybe he can add it to his kernel!
The more the merrier

Faux has made some very nice features for Qualcomm devices such as Turbo Boost, Snake Charmer and his own custom hotplug driver. I think Doom is too busy to port these features.
Also it would be nice to have someone working on AOSP kernels.
Hopefully with the release of the T-Mobile US XZ and if course the Google Edition we'll see more devs.

Whoa, that's kinda fast?
Hmmm... Google releases 4.4.3 to AOSP on the weekend before Christmas without a peep on social media, the android blogs, nor the Android Building Google Group? This seems a bit bizarre.
I'm subscribed to your thread, anxiously awaiting your update
I can't see any evidence of this on googlesource?
As far as I'm concerned this is Link Bait & should be closed for false information. If I'm wrong I apologize but for now you have no proof to back up what your saying.

I'm seeing 4.4.2 as the latest branch, can you provide some evidence?
I'm sure the OP saw this while he was compiling https://github.com/android/platform_build/blob/master/core/version_defaults.mk
"PLATFORM_VERSION := 4.4.3.2.1.000.000"
So he jumped the gun and got all excited and OMFG I'm compiling 4.4.3 hahaha
4.4.3 or whatever next version Google decides to release is not out YET and won't be out until something serious gets reported for them to patch up or they have something juicy to release.
Move along.....nothing else to see
yup, 4.4.3 is NOT in aosp. if it was, it would be here, but its not https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest/
oh my bad lol

That's only for tablets. Nexus 5 and other nexus devices will get lollipop in 'the following weeks'

As exciting as it is, I wanna see them post the source asap so our favorite devs can take a crack at this.

The OTA is only for tablets!
Dev images should be posted today but nothing will roll out today for GSM/CDMA devices.
The OTA for the other nexus devices will come in the following weeks.

Next coming weeks could literally mean in the next 5 minutes to the next coming weeks. Plus Google doesn't give everyone the update at the same time. It takes weeks.

Its been stated over and over by various sources including google that the OTA from today will only be for WiFi devices aka tablets.

It's cool either way, as long as it doesn't take 2 months or some'n than I can wait a couple of weeks. In such events like these, I'm glad that I chose to buy Nexus 5 instead of the usual Samsung/HTC as I did in the past.

Haha ... have a look at https://github.com/whatawurst/android_kernel_asus_sm8350 .... there seem to have been some development here.
Guys relax. No ETAs please. The device is brand spanking new and only just released in some major markets, so be patient. Developers owe nothing and are doing us a favour so let them work at their own pace.
The guys who are working on this have a solid track record with the S10 series as well, so don't worry.
Wishlist, HOPEFULLY hehehe
1) MicroG spoofing support (Imperative)
2) Wireguard support (Imperative)
3) Stock Camera (Splendid if there)
