[Q] HELPPPP!!

Alright I am a little new to this. I rooted my phone and am trying to upgrade to a custom ROM.
I installed clockmod so I can get into my recovery, and can install the ROM zips onto my sd card.
Installation goes through successfully and as soon as I reboot I get the custom splash screen that just repeats and repeats and repeats.
I know I must of missed a step somewhere, but where??
Help me out please!!!

What ROM are you installing? Did you make sure to wipe user data and cache from Clockwork Mod? I'd start there and see if your phone boots after data/cache wipe. If it doesn't work, did you make sure to do a Nandroid backup prior to installing the custom ROM?

That's exactly what I did. Just started messing around with stuff and then it started working.
Appreciate the tip though. Now I know what to do next time.

Weird CWM behaviour

Hello!
Before I want to go on to CWM I want to tell you what happened before.
Yesterday I flashed TWRP recovery which resulted in a really bad situation. I was stuck in recovery. If I pressed reboot it went straigt to recovery again, even if I pulled out the battery. So flashed the stock firmware via the KDZ flashing method and everything worked again.
Then I rooted again, installed CWM, installed CM, installed all my apps (TB backup on PC was quite old),....
So all in all it was a big amount of work and it took me a few hours.
Then everything was working again as it should and I updated all my TB backups and then I wanted to make a Nandroid backup so that I wouldnt have to do all that flashing and installing again.
So I went to recovery--> backup and restore --> backup
But it didnt finish. It always stopped with this error: Error while meaking a backup image of /system!
So i thought maybe I should install everything again, which i did. (I had already made a TB backup of all my apps, so i thought this woulb be done fast)
Well, went to recovery again, did a factory reset, wiped dalvik cache and even formated /system. Then I installed the latest CM + GAPPS and rebooted.
And the first thing i recognized was that the screen popped where it says "android is upgrading". And I wondered even more when I realized that all my apps where stille there. So obviously the factory reset and also format /system didnt work properly.
If I format /system and dont install any ROM then the device doesnt boot (which i guess is the normal behaviour). But what I want to say is that the format works there but if I flash CM afterwards all my apps are still there (despite the fact that i also did a factory reset).
All in all the phone does work normal now, but I'm not able to make a Nandroid backup and I'm really wondering why.
(I also reflashed CWM recovery but that didnt change anything)
I would be glad if s1 could help me.
PS: Could the solution be to flash stock again via KDZ and then do everything from the beginning?

Never heard of anything like this before.
Did you flash the recovery as a .IMG or through Rom manager (I would suggest to flash it with Rom manager).
Try this and report back (maybe your recovery image is damaged or smth.)

I have no idea what caused this crazy behavoiur of CWM, but I started over again with flashing kdz and now everything is fine

Maybe your SD card is full. Try deleting a few files from your SD and then do the backup.

I dont have any external sd card and on phone memory there were more than 10GB free space

Help deleting folders - used rooted phone

I just bought my first Android phone - HTC One. I'm loving it so far!! The guy I bought it from previously rooted it and ran several roms on it. I'd like to copy all the files to my computer and then figure out how to wipe all the folders back to stock (no need to have all kinds of roms and folders from apps he had installed previously, etc.)
Is there a way to do this and wipe everything back to factory?? I tried to do the reset through the OS but the files are still there. I also seen factory reset in the bootloader but havent tried it since I'm still learning and dont want to brick the phone.

If you have the nandroid backup of stock the mobile.
Then goto recovery mode and wipe all data,dalvik cache, battery stats.etc..then say restore..The original stock will be back.
If atall u see old files delete with no fear using root explorer.(be carefull)
If any thing goes wrong just restore the backup through recovery....

Thanks ... I was thinking the same thing last night ... I thought after rebooting into recovery TWRP had a wipe function (not sure if this does a full wipe or not).
How would I restore a backup once I wipe the device if it wipes the entire device? Use USB and upload it back to the device then restore?
Lastly, I restored into the first backup the device has on it but unfortunately it has tons of stuff already installed on it and I'd like it to be a fresh build. Additionally, I'm only on version 4.1.2 and I'd like to upgrade if possible. Perhaps I can find a newer version of the factory AT&T image which is fresh?
I seen a 4.2.2 thread stickied on here ... would that be a factory AT&T image I could restore to after wiping the entire device of everything? Or perhaps I should try the 4.3 leak or even wait for 4.3?

[Q] [Issue] Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 Stuck At Spinning Circle After Titaniumbackup Flash.

I have tried this numerous times still no result.
Cm 10.1.3 works perfectly fine. But once i flash it with my Titanium backup update.zip file. There will be errors, and after i reboot it, it iwll just get stuck at the spinning blue circle. I have tried everything, from apps+data to only app data. Nothing works.
I would have to factory reset and reflash it again.
I use clockworks mod recovery.
My phone is a odin rooted Galaxy S3 Lte (i9305)

use recovery to flash roms not TB, its much more reliable.. i think the problem is because of apps and data you trying to restore with the update.zip. i know you use tb because you want to restore your apps+data easily while flashing new rom, but tb seems to give problems with this method

Nah, i didnt flash my rom with tb, i flashed it with recovery. Then once everything was done, i would go back into recovery and flash the update.zip file

yes i see, but that seems to be the problem ''restoring apps, data with tb'' and from what i know it occurs that this sometimes gives errors, fc's and bootloops like in your case

So is there no way to go through with this? Maybe export my backups to another software or something? or am i supposed to start fresh?

you could try to export your backups (only data) to pc temporary and after having flashed the rom with full wipe, install the apps again and put the backups manually in corresponding directories and see how that is gonna work out. I gave up on TB because of this problem and usually i always start fresh with new flashed roms. I only put my personal files on pc and put it back manually after rom install.

Thanks so much, I dont really need all my apps to be backed up, just important ones, has the manual method worked out for you?

yes, most of the times works fine but cant guarantee it will work with every app, i guess has something to do with permissions i.m.h.o

Help needed - Samsung J5-sm10fn (touchwiz) stuck booting into TWRP recovery

So I tried installing Xposed Framework by flashing it's ROM, but after I did it, I rebooted my phone, but every time I do it, it always boots into TWRP recovery. I tried fixing it by looking in the setting and I used a backup I made before doing all this crap and I restored, but my phone still boots only into TWRP recovery mode. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me. Thanks.
PS. My phone is rooted and it has TWRP

Is it possible that you used the wrong Xposed for your device or SDK version? I can't imagine that restoring a backup didn't fix it. Did you try wiping system in TWRP first?
Things you can try:
- Flash the "Xposed Uninstaller" zip file in TWRP, which should always be on your device when you are flashing new versions of Xposed.
- Reflash TWRP in Odin. This should fix a recovery loop.
- Wipe system, data, dalvik, cache in TWRP, then try restoring your backup.
- As a last resort, you can download the latest stock firmware for your device from the sammobile site, flash it in Odin, let it boot once, reflash TWRP, wipe in TWRP and restore your backup (if you were running a custom rom you liked or something), then flash the correct Xposed for your device & android version.

Now I'm left to just reflashing TWRP and if that doesn't work I'll have to flash the original stock firmware for my phone. I have spent already 2 days with constant searching for ways to fix my phone and not being able to do other things because this has been taking up my time and my patience, so I really appreciate every bit of fixing my phone that I get. Since I am new to all this I would be very grateful if you could send me the links to the correct files for my device and also give me a tutorial on what to do. As I appreciate any support, so I'm thankful for you helping me But until then my device is still not able to boot regulary but rather boots to TWRP

Also, if I try to reflash TWRP, do I have to reflash the original firmware first, or I can just go straight ahead and just reflash TWRP?

Update:
I fixed my phone, and here's what I did, so if anyone is new here with the same issue I had, I hope this can help you. So first of all as I said I kept booting to TWRP, later I tried reflashing TWRP, but I remembered that I missed something in ODIN, so I just pulled the cord and my screen after rebooting just said something along the lines of "An unexpected error occurred while updating software, please recover using Samsung Smart Switch." after that, I tried Samsung Smart Switch, but it was no luck for me, so then I used the last resort. I went on sammobile.com, I searched stock firmware for the exact model I had and then I checked the stock firmware that was available. Since I'm from Latvia, I picked the Baltic region, then I downloaded the latest stock firmware. After a long time, I downloaded the file, and I checked the instructions on how to flash it, I flashed the stock firmware, and then my problem was fixed, my phone was working again and now I have Android 7.1.1 as I used to have Android 6.0.1 and I had ZERO file loss However as you flash the stock firmware, TWRP get "flashed" out and same with root if you have it, and in that case if you want TWRP and root again, I highly suggest Meziani's YoutTube channel, because he gives simple and working tutorials on how to do it I'm glad if this helped anyone.
