Most stable Marshmallow rom right now? - Moto X Q&A

Hello guys,
I am a proud possessor of the Moto X 2013 I tried some marshmallow roms during last months. I can't find a very good ROM. Cm13 and OctOS have problems with the battery. So is there a rom without major bugs, fast and with good battery optimization?? Thanks.

Try AOSP-OMS or MoKee, both seems to be rather good really, but not flawless ofc.

I couldn't get GPS working with OMS ... Otherwise it is a great ROM. I went back to stock ROM because I use Google maps a lot and need GPS. The stock ROM sucks pretty badly.
Couldn't get latest Mokee installed. installed the Lollipop version of Mokee and couldn't get GPS working either.

You just need to erase modemst1 and modemst2 in fastboot and the gps will be working.
The MoKee MM ROM is still in active development btw.

Tried erase modest 1 and 2 multiple times... Didn't work for me.
Maybe because I have a sprint Moto x...Who knows.
I also found that the wifi was capped at 50mbps on speed test...I can get well over 100mbps on stock... So the wifi drivers are not perfect either.

Oh well, that sucks indeed.Did you try CM12.1?It had everything working and it's waybetter than stock. It's LP, though..

I was running Resurrection Remix but was having problems with stability every few weeks prompting me to keep doing reinstalls. I've moved to LineageOS, flashed with Opengapps stock and Nougat-level emoji. Running the 1/2 build right now and having no problems. I'm also on Sprint.

How bad is the camera on CM? From what I understand the camera for the L90 isn't working properly under CM11, taking poor quality photos. Are there any other issues? I love CM but a stripped factory ROM is working great right now on my D415.

I have a D415 running the latest nightly build of official CM11, with BigMajster's patch. Here are the major issues I've encountered so far:
Video playback doesn't work for Netflix or NBC, but it works for browser (HTML5), YouTube, and FIOS Mobile.
Camera doesn't autofocus
Bluetooth streaming cuts out frequently
Random reboots (every 2 days or so)
It's worth noting that the battery life is fantastic compared to my Optimus G and iPhone 4S (never used the L90 on stock firmware, so I can't compare builds). My phone rarely goes under 30% before 9PM, and I regularly get 12 hours of battery with 4.5 hours of screen on time (web browsing and streaming video). I barely use my car charger anymore.
Just tried it with last nights NIGHTLY.
still no video recording.
Gps is about 2300 miles off. LOL
Runs smooth. Less glitchy. Feels good. Didn't stick with it long though....
...went back to CM12 for my daily driver..
Running this mornings w7 NIGHTLY (http://get.cm/get/nxh) on my D415.
My God, someone has been putting work in!
The device is smoother, boots much quicker, screen is far more responsive now too!
The three reboots I have done also recognized the SIM faster too. It usually takes about a minute to recognize the network. This time, four seconds! Nice!
It's much less glitchy, again. Lets see of it still über deep sleeps?
Don't know if any of that is from this mornings update, but this device is running much better than it was last night.
When I woke up this morning:
Dirty flashed over existing CM11 system. (With one eye open, still in bed)
Bootloops, my favorite breakfast!
Flashed @BigMajster kernel (patch).
Perfekt again!
Only been running for about 1.5hrs but, it's noticeably better.. I recommend it.

Yes. For CM11 you need to install the LG IR app and SDK apps that go with it.
There's a thread about it with downloads. I'd blame @shinobisoft for that fix, if I'm not mistaken...

[ROM]s CyanogenMod CM-14.1 (Android 7.1 Nougat) for H811

I've begun building CM-14.1 (~AOSP 7.1 Nougat) for LG G4 H811 (T-mobile). I intend to upload new builds about weekly, or more frequently when I have time and cool things happen in the code. I will do this until cyanogenmod starts creating "nightlies" for the H811.

That's what users post here. I try to note some of the major issues I find on the individual download pages, but I don't attempt to test everything on every build. After all, there's millions of lines of code! I push the build to my phone, fire it up, and if it doesn't smoke the phone I push the build to androidfilehost.
Users tend to use their phones for different things. Some are big into game playing. I don't play games on my phone. Some send hundreds of texts per day; I don't. Some take lots of selfies and movies. I don't. So, you see, it's up to the users to discover what works and what doesn't and share the knowledge. Here is a good place to do that.
As of today the build is good enough that I'm using it as my daily driver. The only major outstanding issue that I've so far discovered is that external SD access by MTP USB still isn't working. Must use ADB or use MTP from TWRP. The GPS and SIM recognition issues seem to have been resolved.

Cyanogenmod reached his end mate, new builds will be under Lineage OS not cyanogenmod's. There's another ROM's like RR, Cypher or DU for H811 on 7.0/7.1, just look into LG G4 forum not TMO LG G4 directly.

Cm and stock firmware isnt the same.. Stock or based stock roms are roms using tmobiles stock firmwares.. So far we got marshmallow no nougat yer.. When theres no more updates then you use cm or aosp rom. To update to latest say next version after nougat... Have in mind that using cm its faster and better battery but camera quality its not on par with stock.. Framework they use a feneric.
As of 01/22/2017 I'm running this ROM and it's been solid so far. I had a little issue with the initial install at first it kept asking me to transfer my info from another Android device but after restarting it, all went well. Everything works except the Bluetooth. If I'm not mistaken , CM has always had a Bluetooth problem. Anyone know any trick to make it work?? But overall thank you for bringing Android N to my G4!
Currently On the 1/28 nightly and it's still going strong. The Bluetooth is working correctly and the user icon in the notification draw works as well. Keep up the good work. It's been my daily driver for a week now.
so it's safe to use coming from stock rom? Is it reliable?
Is there xposed framework out yet by rovo89 supporting this rom?

I had no issues coming from stock. As far as Xposed , it isn't compatible with Android N yet. But this ROM has everything you need IMO.
Any updates planned beyond 3/16? It's been running on my G4 since the day of release and incredibly stable.

Custom ROM and Force Reboots

I have had a DT since launch and I have had a custom ROM on for quite a while and upon using Android N (through crDroid) I found an extreme amount of forced reboots, I was wondering what causes them as I would love to join the ranks of the 1%ers who use android N across all platforms.
Obviously saying "it doesn't work please fix" is not going to get me anywhere so ill throw my pride out the window and accept any and all assistance if yall would be so kind.

Just to give you an update, I just removed AOKP because whenever I try to make a call through a Bluetooth device (like my car's hands free system), it completely messes up the phone and eventually force reboots. These roms are based on early versions of CM14.1 (we don't even have official CM14.1 builds yet) so some bugs are to be expected, but they're all being updated very regularly so I expect that they will be virtually bug free in a no time. Just keep trying them until you find one that works for you.

Also @calsurferpunk just re-synced his "unofficial" CM14 to RR's builds to hope to get that stability. Previously he was uing crDroids database (or whatever). His unofficial CM14 builds are a hybrid of more bare bones CM and everything-including-the-kitchen sink tweaks of custom ROMs. His builds have the more popular tweaks, like being able to download Moto apps and a couple more, but are not change-everything ROMs.

I'm really thankful we have evolved no thanks to the developers like chainfire and all the wonderful people who still care for our 3900mah mini Nexus 6... Or at least close enough
Edit: I will try out CM14.1 Unofficial for a day and see how that goes. I really want to stay away from "kitchen sink" roms because of the restarts. Thanks again for your help

It is stock bro. There is no bug in stock. Everything works awesome. Everything.
I hope so, because when I had the marshmellow stock rom, those apps didn't work properly, so I had to downgrade to lollipop again.

Yes, me too. After i move some apps to external SD card, they always have a "force close" error. I had to restart my A7k-a, error fixed. But after few hours (3, 4h or 5h or maybe 12h...), "force close" appears again. I'm on latest Ota ROM.

Yess, there is. I'm currently using the rom. It's called androium v1.3 unofficial. I've downloaded it from the needrom website. Everything is working: wifi, gps, bluetooth, led, hotspot, superuser, xposed, etc. It's even better than stock. It had no bugs (I've faced only one, sometimes flash does not start, but when you launch camera and focus with flash on then the flash gets fixed). Multitasking is even better than stock. Performance is awesome. I suggest you to download this rom if you do not like stock.

Solution there is none since all the roms have bugs
Music stutter on standby, Bluetooth for calling or flash light or camera issues on some Roms. I have flashed alot of Roms already and no update to any of the Roms since it's been out. So I'm running a Rom right now that has issues and that music on standby stutters but thankfully some one showed me how to fix Bluetooth and the distorted music but still it stutters on standby which no one as of yet got it fixed . I have also pm dev's about the Roms and some are working on it on the next release and some haven't pm me back to let me know if there gonna update there Roms. Waiting patiently:silly:

None I would say ..they all got problems like I said so if you want you can use AICP Rom or lineage 15.1 but they have Bluetooth issues that's about it ..calling by Bluetooth won't work if you don't mind that . Phusson , pixel , bootleggers, RR Remix all got issues there is a site called GitHub with more Roms on there that you can also use GSI Roms but still with the same issues with Bluetooth .
i don't use bluetooth, i rarely use for send media but nowadays everyone has apps for that and a lot faster...
i tried with aosp extended pie and bootloop
now im testing RR oreo, seems smooth
the pixel experience goes too laggy
EDIT: RR Oreo, it's hard to configure fingerprint, and when it's done, doesn't unlock
EDIT 2: Fingerprint is working, but as you said, audio stutters while playing, so i'm back to the boring Lenovo stock rom
