dm-verity is disabled on Marshmellow Concept

Hello,
Searched the interweb and xda to find an answer, but still can't find one. I can't seem to update my Marshmallow Concept v3536 to v3550. I tried:
Flashing the 3027 build and relocking the bootloader
Flashing the boot, and the reovery partition of 3037 built serparately and relock
Full wipe my device and installing built 3037 and relock
Also tried this steps and after that updated to 3536 by restoring system and boot partitions. All at no avail. I have to clarify that I did not install SU, so that's not the problem. Also: my TWRP recovery is still available if I unlock my bootloader afterwards.
My device keeps telling me "incremental system update cannot be installed when dm-verity is disabled" if I try to update. I haven't got a TA-backup becuse when I rooted that wasn't possible yet.
Is there a way to get dm-verity back as there's no clear answer to this question on xda.
TIA
(Lol. Misspelled Marshmallow in the title)
OK. Here's how I managed to fix it:
I installed this and flashed the last official firmware with it.
Flashed the 3027 concept rom over it.
I manually flashed TWRP (Flashtool corrupted my boot) with the command
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
When I start TWRP choose READ-ONLY mount system.
Wipe dalvik and cache and flash this from within TWRP.
Boot ROM and backup after that from within TWRP if you want to be able to update via OTA (I think this is necessary, but not sure).
After that flash latest (systemless) SuperSU Beta.
Enjoy

Downgrade from OOS 4.1.5 to 3.5.x

I am having serious battery drain on any OOS 4.x.x rom. I used to have very good battery life in 3.5.2. can anyone give me a proper step by step guide to downgrade? Battery is a huge issue for me.
i have my own steps that i found it by my self but it will earse all ur data so backup ur data to pc.
here are the steps :
1. make sure u have unlocked bootloader, custom recovery (twrp) i prefer use blu_spark twrp latest version
2. pur ur 3.5.x firmware in internal storage
3. boot to twrp recovery and do a clean wipe(dalvik, data, internal, system, cache)
4. flash ur 3.5.x firmware. it will take a long time just wait it
5. reboot to system, ull get a no os installed warning in twrp just reboot it(swipe)
6. when the devices boot up ull get a enter password for decrypt data. just reboot to bootloader
7. when u in fastboot mode connect ur devices to pc
8. use op3/op3t toolkit to flash twrp from fastboot u can find the toolkit here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/development/toolkit-oneplus-3t-toolkit-unlock-t3507729
9. then wait when it boot to twrp and when it boot up wipe data, internal storage only
10. reboot to system. done
sorry for my bad english. i hope it works
Ok that sounds easy. Reboot to recovery after flashing ROM retains the recovery I guess. Do you have any suggestion of custom kernel for 3.5.x ? Also i have the latest twrp. Will is allow me to flash 3.5?

Thank you guys. It wasn't really tough. Flashed OOS 3.5.4 full zip. Rebooted to recovery then rebooted to system. However it was bootloop at the start then I restarted and flashed SuperSU zip, it booted up. Don't know why SuperSU is required to boot up. However I am not getting the support for Magisk. I tried cleaning up SuperSU and then flashing the Magisk zip but it didn't work. Any advice ?

You have to reflash stock boot image to get Magisk to work

OOS 5.0 With Root stuck on booting

I was on Oos 4.5.1 and wanted to update to Oreo. I followed the thread on this forum and downloaded the new TWRP BluSpark img file, the OOS full package and the Magisk zip. Booted into recovery, installed the img file and flashed OOS and the Magisk zip file. When i rebooted into system, i noticed Root wasn't installed and my recovery had reverted to stock recovery but my device bootloader was still unlocked. So i booted into fastboot mode, flashed the Blusparks img file and booted into recovery and flashed the magisk file. Now the phone rebooted and its stuck on the "Powered By Android" screen. The boot image of OP hasn't shown up. What do i do? I really don't want to hard reset my phone :/
No need to hard reset the phone, just go to recovery clean flash excluding internal storage then flash oxygen os 5.0 zip file and magisk 14.5.
Magisk 14.0 has boot issues.
I had similar issues which I resolved easily.
You may trigger DM verity flag after booting which you can disable easily.

Oh yes, i figured Magisk 14.0 was the issue. I waited for 30 mins+ and the phone still didnt boot up, so i switched it off and booted into recovery and flashed just the OOS zip file and it worked. I don't want to wipe data as well.
Can i flash Blusparks twrp from adb, boot into recovery and just flash OOS and Magisk 14.5 and wipe dalvik/cache?

You can flash bluspark recovery from fastboot. But for the successful installation and avoid problems, forget the application data. You can fresh install apps which is always recommended while flashing any ROM even if it is updated version. I never dirty flash ROM. I care for internal storage and not for the small apps.
You can try dirty flash as you stated but stability may be an issue.
Dirty flashed with Magisk 14.5 and it worked

Recovery booting problem

Hi,
I am on xiaomi.eu weekly Android 10.
My device cant boot to any recovery. I flashed them all (3.3.0, 3.3.1, 3.2.3 or PicthBlack)
I flash them all successfully but none of them opens, they all stuck at recovery logo screen.
If I format my userdata and cache, twrp opens, but I dont want to wipe data every week.
Why all recoveries stuck? Does anyone have an idea?
Last time I format everything, installed 3.3.1 and installed rom. It works but I still couldnt open any recovery. (fastboot boot .img or volume up + power has same results)
This one solved the problem

Question Question about OTA update zip file

My phone M2102K1G came with IN ROM as I bought the phone in India during launch.
I unlocked bootloader and flashed Xiaomi.eu's fastboot ROM which is based on CN ROM and my model was then M2102M1C. I didn't like the Xiaomi.eu ROM and switched to Global MI fastboot Rom. Rooted as well. Very happy with this
I did not fastboot flash TWRP and left my phone on stock recovery. I have tested fastboot boot TWRP and that works well though the initial language (TWRP) is Chinese and you have to first switch the language to English. I haven't flashed anything via TWRP as yet.
My question is:
OTA zip file (Global MI Rom)
Can i flash it via TWRP?
Even though my phone is for the India IN region?
And if I can flash it via TWRP, then do I immediately flash with Magisk zip as well to keep root?
Thanks to anyone who had the patience to read through this and can hopefully reply.
In case you want update a stock ROM without TWRP and keep root throughout the updates here is my guide to do so.
Download on your phone latest recovery package manually from trusted websites. You can find the ROMs and firmware specific for your device on here https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/star/ remember to download the recovery version
Disable magisk modules and reboot
Upon reboot go to settings->system version->Miui(top left button)-> in the updater click several times on the main icon to unlock hidden settings->once unlocked tap on the three dots on the top right and select "choose update package"->browse your folder to find the downloaded recovery package, select it and press the V button on the bottom->update will start->wait until completion and reboot
Once rebooted follow the procedure to flash magisk.zip
Reboot the phone into fastboot
Connect phone to the pc
Boot into twrp
Once in twrp flash dalvik and cache
Flash magisk.zip and rewipe dalvik and cache
Reboot system and voila

Ok thanks.
I'm definitely gonna follow these steps the next time I get an OTA update.
Don't need to be rooted to flash boot TWRP is it?
No, you don't need, but you don't flash twrp, you just boot into twrp
If I have a unlocked and rooted phone with stock recovery, what happens if I just update normally via the stock update procedure? Will it not work?
Without disabling Magisk or anything and just updating.
Honestly I don't know but I can say that magisk wasn't fully working after updating without reflashing it
Okay.
So I cannot flash the OTA zip.
But have to update using the full recovery ROM for the updated version.
And then flash Magisk via fastboot boot TWRP

How will I get boot.img from the recovery ROM?
Only fastboot ROM will have boot.img
I think you have a bit of confusion, only thing you have to di is download magisk.zip on your phone, boot into twrp and flash it, simple

Yes, you will probably have to reinstall Magisk as root will more than likely be broken. The update server still sees a stock rom and as long as you have stock recovery, the stock OTAs will work.
The guide posted above explains properly the steps. Will try that next time around.
