Huawei P8 [GRA-UL10 & GRA-UL00] How to upgrade to Marshmallow [China]

If you are like me, a strange owner of the china version (I got it as a gift from china) you also probably saw that other regions got it but the china region (C00BXX) is not getting any love, in china, for some reason, it is only available if you signed for the beta test program, but not anymore. This will not be a comprehensive guide since my main language is not English but some basic steps you MUST follow.
Edit: It seems that Huawei now allows you to upgrade without being in the program just follow this steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67959028&postcount=4 (It says it is for GRA-UL00 but should work for UL10 too) if it works ignore the next steps.
All steps are important do NOT skip any, I also assume you know how to install firmwares (copying the zip or update.app in dload folder).
You must be on C00B220 if you are on B230 downgrade it to B220 (you can download it here http://emuirom123.dbankcloud.com/GRA-UL00-UL10_EMUI3.1_Android5.0_B220.zip?rid=2082. Also if you have root you should also do a clean install again.
After that install this firmware https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5nCMmhHnLDNSlhYb0R5MnozX2M/view. Don't extract it, copy update.zip to dload folder in sdcard and install it. I searched for this file for many many hours and had to translate a lot of chinese pages to give it to you, you now have Marshmallow, but it is too outdated (B320).
Now, make sure you have the latest version of HiSuite, update it if needed. Connect your phone with the instructions given in HiSuite. In HiSuite click "Update" and it should find the latest version.
Now just sit and relax, after that you have the latest version of android on your chinese P8

does this work only on Asian/Chinese ROMs?
I am looking to switch over from the Asian/Chinese ROM that came with the phone by default to an English/European ROM or something.
How would do I that?

You cannot change from Asian Region to another region like Europe because you are going to brich your phone.
I found this old site http://www.carbontesla.com/2015/09/how-to-change-region-of-your-huawei-honor-4c-root/ but i think it is too risky.

Another new firmware came today at my phone from Hicare .It is about 156mb and now i am on GRA-UL10C00B359.

Thats weird, I didn't get it Still on B358.
Edit: Oh, HiCare, misunderstood with HiSuite. Nice catch, as far as I understood it adds the feature VoLTE.

Does this work on chineese Ul00?? the firmware looks like it's for UL00 too....am i wrong??

I can confirm this method working on UL00 model too......so can u plz update the title of this thread and add UL00 too....it would help all the other UL00 users like me

Thanks, added an edit in the post.

B166 > B378-FULL How I did it.

Basically I've followed a few different methods and got it to work.
Using the firmware finder apk I downloaded the B182 (full) rom.
While this is downloading... Using es Explorer or similar create a folder called hwff in the root of your main storage.
When it has finished downloading...
Check the md5.
Unpack it.
Move to dload.
Then turn it off.
Turn back on using the 3 finger method.
This will then install B182.
Note: when it reboots it will stay on the Huawei red logo for a few minutes.
Let it finish and you will have B182 working.

Now to update to B361.
I used the combination of Huawei updater 2.0 and HiSense to update.
It found it with no issues and I just left it to update.

Update to B378-FULL
This was simply an OTA update through the normal Settings > Update menu.
Fairly painless, just time consuming really.

Man the update path on these huawei's is killing me. I've only just taken the plunge. Accidentally turned my c432 into a c900 by double flashing a b166 rom. Took me best part of a day to get it back to c432b166!
The amount of slow crappy downloads we have to make in order to make incremental upgrades. Is there not a way that we can just go straight into a later build without all these rollups?

You can just use the proxy install method within the Firmware Finder app, its very easy.
Just google "how to. using firmware finder youtube" as I cant post direct link, then 99% of the work is done for you

Hutchism: Sadly not, from what I've seen you can only jump to Nougat from B182 and nothing earlier - Don't ask me why... Makes NO sense!
Natchi: The proxy install method did not work for me. That's why I did it the way I did... All I know is that it worked and I'm running Nougat.

Hi there, followed your first step with no issues - finally on B182! Struggling to find the B361 update using Hisuite (windows PC), HiCare (app) or the Update app.
Any advice on how to do this? What is Updater 2.0 please?

P9 EVA-L09 back to stock

hi guys, ive searched this forum day and night, maybe i'm not that good or somehow im to stupid.
so, i'm using p9-eval09 with c432b182. a few months ago i dont know how, im surprised as well, i rooted this phone with twrp and supersu. thing is when it came up to create a back-up dont know what didnt work and down the stream my back`up went. now i want to go back to stock as i will have warranty issues cause im not happy of the battery life. in order to do that, i have to get back to stock rom and stock recovery. will any of you guys will be nice enough to give me a hand with this? help would be much appreciated and ill buy you some beers and give you free unicorn rides. god bless

Hi,
You can use this link to download the rollback package

once you download it.
unzip and put the update.app in the dload folder on your external sdcard in your phone.
you have to manually create this folder in your external sdcard.
once you do this
type
*#*#2846579#*#* in your phone dialer
then you will get a menu
in that select
SD card upgrade
then you wait.
it will reboot and finish rolling back to stock.
Remember this will get you back to stock rom, but you will have to upgrade to some other ROM for your L09 after rolling back.
I do not have Huawei P9 but I have Huawei Mate 8 & Huawei Mediapad M3. I feel that there are lot of similarities between Huawei phones & that is why I feel you can make it work using these steps.

For updating to EMUI 5.0
you can use firmware finder from play store.
Install the app

in the settings of this firmware finder app
switch on "add on proxy"
now go to your WIFI-settings
tap and hold your WIFI connection
modify network - select manual
there you put the following
proxy is
localhost
port is
8080
that's it save.
then go to firmware finder app
search
download the right firmware for your P9 L09 and then click on "send the firmware to updater"
now
go to settings
update -> you should see the OTA for EMUI 5.0
But don't this now. First you have to rollback and only after that go for this EMUI 5.0 update.
Don't forget. Please click on :good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good:

L09C432B182 FULL firmware file. Found it in another thread. It seems to be working for them.

It seems every version I try, its fails at 5%. What am I doing wrong.
Can anyone tell me a system that works to get back to the latest stock nougat.

Have you tried their consumer site? Just download the original, i did so, and the rest will come OTA.

b329 update and no music app

Hi everybody) A few days ago i updated my branded(vodafone) mate s to CRR-L09C02B329(MM) version, during update i had a fail message and when I restart the phone I found out that the update was installed successfully, but there music app was not installed so now I can't open mp3 files on my Mate S.. If someone else have had the same issue, how you solve it? Can I make downgrade the phone to my stock android 5.1 version by downloading the firmware from officila hghuawei site? I know that I cant flash c432 versions because it's not vodafone... Maby someone has the vodafone 5.1 firmware in this case, I would ask you to share the link with me) Thanks in advance for all xda audience))

Do a hard reset to see if this solves the problem. To find all the available roms for your version download the app firmware finder from play store.

C900 is global firmware and the procedure is the same for all versions. You can flash this and then flash a 5.1 rom with C02. The file has instructions on how to do the rollback.

Yes, you can. Probably this will solve the problem. I suggest you to use the installation method with the three buttons so that to do a clean install. Note that with this method you will lose your data, so make a back-up.

What is the size of the rom file? Did you use the method with the 3 buttons?

So the firmware size was 3Gb, yes I have already tried two procedures with three buttons and from menu by by digitting code #*#*2846579#*#* and selecting software update but nothing changes, yesterday I also looked for lollipop vodafone version, but I could not find anything.. I thought about flash role back c900 from official site and then retry to flash the same Marshmallow version... Can I do that?

Download the app firmware finder from play store to see all the available roms for your version.

I have already seen all roms of firmware finder but there are all OTA versions, and only c02b329 (which is my current version) is FULL. Is it illegal to flash current version over c900?
I have tried to install rollback and then once again c02b329... But after install rollback I didn't have c900b300 as axpected, but still have c02b329 and then reflash same version has no effect) But yesterday I found c02b110 which is an official firmware(lollipop) of vodafone, (if somebody else would need this firmware I will share a link) Can I try to flash this lollipop version just over my current firmware?

Hi everybody here)) Finaly I installed c432b321 which i found at huawei site. All finished with success, I updated throught dload folder. Finaly i have music app:angel::angel: But now my version is C900B321 and not C432B321 as expected.. Someone knows how to pass from C900 to C432?

Help updating EVA-L09C432B210 to Nougat

Hi guys, I have followed the debranding guide from user "Z-Blade", and got up to the point where I was on B182. From there I was supposed to update to Nougat via Huawei Updater 2.0, but that didnt work. HiSuite gives a 'No Internet Connection' error (pretty sure I followed the steps correctly). My phone received an update to B210 via the System Settings app and I proceeded to update, hoping that I would receive a nougat update after.
I am now on B210, but I can't find any working way to update to nougat. I tried the Firmware Finder app as well, but the update always fails.
Could someone upload a dload folder containing the nougat update? Or is there some other way I can use to update.
Please help, really want those Nougat features!
Also, if I download one of the "B361_update_data_full_hw_eu.zip" files, how can I flash it?
I am unrooted and my bootloader is locked.
//managed to fix the issue, for some reason the B361 link wasnt working, but the B360 was. Updated to that and got the OTA to B387. Nougat is beautiful.

If u receive no internet connection using huawei updater and hisuite means u didn't follow the steps correctly,remove /full/filelist.xml from the url u put in the huawei updater

I was trying to use that url, and still cant get it to work. I just tried the url for B360 and it is working, im downloading the update now. Hopefully from there I can update via system settings.

Yes, thats the guide im using. The start button was clicked. The B360 link works, so im trying to update to that now.

Hi, I wanted to know if you were able to update to B360 from B210 using that guide (the guide states that Huawei Updater 2.0 only works with B182 and B360/361). I'm currently stuck in B210 as you mentioned at the beginning of the thread.

Yes, I was able to update from B210. When I got to B360, I got the OTA to B383 straight away. A couple of days later I got the OTA to B386.
