Recovery Corrupted? - Verizon LG G2

Do I went to upgrade my wife's G2 to a newer TWRP version. Instead of smartly doing this by flashing the new zip in twrp, I used JMZ's twrp app to flash the newer version. It said success and thought all was good.
When I return to recovery, it's just a black screen nothing loads. I rebooted and tried again. Same problem. Rebooted and tried flashing CWM through ROM manager. Same result - black recovery screen.
By now I've tried to access fastboot but fastboot doesn't recognize device (although ADB had no problem). I've attempted flashing the IMG file from the official TWRP app and also using the "dd" method on terminal Emulator.
I'm at a complete loss here. My guess is the recovery is corrupted and anything short of using KDZ or TOT method to return to stock and re-root is going to just keep frustrating me.
Thoughts?

yeah those twrp apps are more trouble than they are worth on the G2 at least.
I think there was a lollipop version of autorec floating around might have to google it
or you could try and pull the recovery.img out of one of blastgators zips and flash with dd then flash the zip in twrp

I dont understand one thing, can you boot the phone? It can turn on normally? Anyway about the recovery, have you tried with AutoRec.apk? Google for it and it should install some old version of TWRP then go and find 3.0xx bumped TWRP which is recommended in most of roms and flash it through the old one, after that reboot recovery and youll have the latest recovery

Yes the phone boots just fine. It's just the recovery that's been blasted. I'm gonna try the autorec you guys mentioned. I'll let you know how it goes.
When you say find a bumped version of TWRP, that is something different than the one on the official site right? Also, the version I found of autorec was the kitkat version. I believe I rooted her phone from Lollipop. Will this cause problems with running autorec? Moreover will it mess up my boot?

So tried autorec for the vs980. Unfortunately it can't find or install the Loki_tool. With that it closes the app. I've tried looking up info on the Loki tool, but I'm not finding anything that is being helpful.
I'm familiar with using the kdz method and might just do that and start fresh. Really wish I hadn't used that stupid twrp app now. I'll take any further suggestions that could save me from restoring stock.

Autorec works , it must. You have SuperSu? Go in supersu settings and uncheck something about 'name spaces' cant remember the whole thing. Then reboot, run autorec again.

I should have probably mentioned I'm on a custom rom already. Don't know if that's part of it.
I'm on RR MM 5.7.4 using built in root manager in the rom.

I'm also getting "boot certification verify" error on reboot when attempting to boot into recovery.

Yeah figured as much. I might just leave her on stock honestly. She is a very light user of her phone. I only rooted and did custom recovery because her original software became corrupted and boot looped her.
Thanks for all of the help!

I have been unable to find a reliable/working method for installing TWRP on my LG G2 VS9803AA (5.0.2) - It appears AutoRec is no longer supported - and I have read too many horror stories (including the one posted here) about those TWRP installer apps. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Yup can do it as long as nothing else is modified but most people who root modify system, files. I did exactly what you're saying except a little different. I used flashify to back up stock recovery, then I flashed twrp and when kitkat came I restored to suck recovery uninstalled xposed framework and manually installed kitkat. Then I used Autorec to install twrp again and backed up recovery worth flashify first. This time though I forgot to backup the kernel too because Autorec modifies it. So now I'll probably have to kdz to stock uhh f a later update comes unless there's a flashible zip for it.

I found a repository here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48794341&postcount=4
When I renamed the 12b version from .bin to .img and flashed with Flashify, it factory reset my phone and even wiped internal storage. So I restored my nandroid (that I'd backed up externally), then flashed the 11a version. That installed on my 12b phone successfully.
The OTA then errors out with 0x1111004.
Upgrade Assistant tries but fails to detect the phone in ethernet mode.
In download mode the phone is detected but PC displays "Authentication fail"
I can't recall doing any mods outside of g2xposed and I've uninstalled the framework but maybe I did?
Was recovery was updated when 12b rolled out?
I'll try to dig up an earlier nandroid of my system partition and see if I can rule out other mods. Ideas welcome, thanks

Stock Flashable LS995 Sprint Flex Rom

Here is a stock flashable sprint flex rom for those who might ever need it. It can be used for development purposes or if you simply messed up your phone and need it.
steps to install
1. First download Playfulgods app that installs clockwork mod recovery
2. Download the flashable rom located here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6HYWZRx8JLsRHhPVVhvQko3akU/edit?usp=sharing
3. Boot to recovery by turning phone all the way off and holding down vol + and power until you see a black screen with a symbol and korean writing. You will then see cwm recovery start.
4. scroll to advance
5. click the loki toggle. This will stop the recovery from trying to loki the boot.img and causing an error. The boot.img is already lokied thanks to Playfulgod
6. Install the Rom and let it finish
7. reboot the device.
Very nice work,....

So if loki is enabled in cwm then the rom dev doesn't need to patch the boot.img? or is because it's the stock boot.img?

If your on sprint variant you can update to kitkat and root it with IOroot25 that's what i did. I'm also waiting for roms but not 4.2.2 roms im waiting for kitkat roms i don't see the point to be hype for JB roms when kitkat is out and as long as you can root kitkat that should be fine to hold you off until roms start popping out.

So if I flash this stock Rom will my phone accept the kk update or do I still need to unroot? I read something about needing to unroot but also read you can flash a stock Rom? Confused about the best way to take the kk update. I've just seen some people saying it's best to wait for a kk Rom and others say go ahead and update then root haha

Was finally able to download the zip file, is there anyway to get it on my device from Recovery? My Device is stuck in a boot loop but I can get the phone into recovery mode, but I believe the CWM on my device isn't working 100%, I can back up and restore if that helps, but when I restart the system, I get nothing but the LG Boot Logo.
Tried adb sideload, "device not found"
UPDATE: Somehow got sideload to cooperate but keep getting * failed to write data 'protocol fault <no status>' * get this at about 55-60%
Sideload gets to exactly 59% every time, then fails. Can I not sideload this Stock ROM?

[Q] LG L90 D415 solutions?

Hi, I recently decided to unlock my bootloader on my LG device, and decided to install the pacman rom, I installed CWM 6.0.5.1
after installing the rom and the gapps, my phone went into a bootloop and i'm pretty sure it's bricked, I made a laf backup through some commands, but i am unable to access my phone even when i plug it in, it can go into fastboot, but when i am ready to execute commands, it gives me an error saying no device found. I was hoping to not give up and keep pushing for a solution, please help me, i have the kdz for the phone, i just can't enter download mode, my phone will only go into fastboot.
Any help, suggestions, are greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

PAC ROM is the most stable one in the room in my opinion. Don't 7se Tue repartitu9n tool, don't reinstall y9ur laf partition. Just a few of my own observations.
No what it was is that the pacman rom 4.4.4 had a bad boot.img, so i replaced it with a different boot.img and flashed it in fastboot, since that was the only thing i could access. Then it booted up just fine, since i was able to flash the pacman rom

Thank you! I'll try this tomorrow.
Actually, maybe I won't mess with this...seems too complicated, plus I've never gone into fastboot. Thanks anyway!
You can't get into download mode until your laf is reinstalled. Commands for this I think are in the 'enable fastboot' thread. You most likely don't need or want to do this. Also the computer not seeing your phone is normally because of drivers, bad cable or USB port if you can get to fastboot you should be fine.
As for PAC ROM yes the op download has a bad boot IMG. A user named blonde???? Posted a copy with the correct boot IMG. Go to the thread, start on the last page and work backwards the copy and links he posted are posted and quoted multiple times. His copy is good with no issues. You will need to sideload or push the zip to your SD card or flash with fastboot.
Also just a tip before you flash anything....read all of page one of a thread, and most importantly read 10-20 of the last pages....if the thread has a q&a which that one does....read that too.
If you are concerned about doing fastboot commands then I reccomend leaving them available because the alternative is infinitely more restrictive and much harder to use.

You can still weekly update with TWRP. I've been doing it since I got the phone 2-3 weeks ago. It just launches the updater script in TWRP and installs fine
Ok.. Nice! I've just read that TWRP would break the updates. I'll try when the next one comes. Thanks☺

I stand corrected. This week's update didn't work for me. I checked my downloaded_rom folder and it seemed to be downloading entire ROMs the past two weeks, except this week it was just the patch. With. The entire rom download, it installed but with this week's update only it did not install.
Mine did not update as well.. Just froze at the MI logo.. Tried twice.

TWRP does break the updates and even after restoring stock recovery it still won't do it just download the full rom and dirty flash it through TWRP. If you still need stock recovery here's my backup. https://mega.co.nz/#!KFckQTBR!r3zUx_6OoKiusgPWRSBYhltvHP48RLfhuSnZ59wXF2k

Yeah it didn't work for a while but it randomly started working again and I havent had any problems since.
Yea I tried that, then realized how much I used TWRP and reverted back after 2 hours.
I only use twrp when I need it so I connect it to my PC and use fastboot boot TWRP.img

Lg g2 stuck in bootloop after revert to stock

So I just came off a bricked device caused by autorec to install twrp. That bricked my device pretty hard. I was able to get into download mode by using the SRK tool. After that I used LG flash tool 2014 to revert back to stock but instead get caught in a bootloop. I can not boot into recovery but I can boot into download mode. The most I've gotten was a few times it booted past the verizon logo and began to optimize the apps when after about 90/167 it restarted and bootlooped again. Any help would be appreciated as I'm pretty sure it can be fixed I'm just doing something wrong.
When you flashed through LG Flash Tool, did you use the KDZ method or the TOT method? I'm thinking that the method you're using didn't wipe data and maybe that's why it's bootlooping? When I restored to stock a couple days ago I had the same issue and it was because I was clicking "Normal Flash" which doesn't wipe data, instead of clicking "CSE Flash" which wipes everything.
I was able,to fix it. It just took a factory reset from recovery. The issue is it never worked before and would just reboot after the factory reset and still be stuck. Perhaps I let the battery run out on it and that kinda reset it and allowed a factory reset.
Now that I'm on 4.4.2 does anyone have a suggestion on a root and twrp installation method?

It says it needs Loki tool to be installed. I looked it up and it seems as if it has to be done through and.

It says that it needs Loki tool installed. Seems as if Loki tool only can be installed with adb.
