Hello,
The Mi Mix is a wonderful device, but that Ugly navigationbar sucks. See attached Pic.
Is there a way to theme it with for example substratum?
Even make it complete Dark?
I dont searching for any alternativ like lmt, Pie or gmd.
Unlock the bootloader and root the device - once you do that you can change colors or presence permanently as you see fit.
You can even hide them too with slide up to appear for more screen space.
I fixed this issue just now!
Simply download the Xposed tweak called Flat Style Colored Bars then enable it in Xposed.
It works for the Smartisan Desktop app, ViPER4Arise, etc.
And I think it's also useful for your apps.

This module is also does the job. Colourise both status bar and navigation bar by picking the background colour. Good for eyes: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.flarejune.perfectcolorbar

I've noticed on Lollipop that some devs are actually implementing material design and the tinted status bar looks great coupled with this. But why aren't apps tinting the navbar? This is possible, but I don't have any apps that do it (but plenty tint the status bar). Why is that? What apps do you use that have the tinted navbar? Would love to try it out. Thanks!
Only one I can think of is the beta version Franco Kernel Updater app.
Reddit Sync also does this. Its a possibility that we can see this done in a custom ROM feature, there was Dynamic Status Bars. It can be adapted for the navigation bar probably.
Is there any way to change the colors on these two things? On the Nexus 4 there was PA which brought the ability to change this stuff. I would like to make then constantly black because I think I'm the only one who prefers this kind of look... Is there a way to do that so I don't have to worry about them matching the application?

Use Lolistat xposed module to tint statusbar and navbar and also do use Tinted Recent Pannels xposed module to tint un-tinted recent apps Hope it helps
Hi guys, so apparently my status bar can't turn transparent in apps. Instead it defaults to a light grey, almost white which is extremely annoying to look at. Google maps for example always keeps the status bar white when I know that it should be transparent (or at least the default dark grey). Only on the home screen I can get a transparent status bar but not in apps, which I tested with various apps comparing to me tablet.
I thought first that it is an issue with an exposed module but I disabled all of them did a reboot and it still won't turn transparent.
I can make Screenshots or upload a video if you don't get what I'm saying
Must be your ROM or an Exposed module. My stock Z3C does not have that issue on 5.1.1.
But what could it be, I have disabled all xposed modules and I still get it...
Btw i'm on stock .232 (expect root and xposed).
Screenshot attached Btw.
(e) nevermind just updated the xposed framework to .75 and now I have transparency.
Case closed.
On Android 7 and below, a couple screen dimmer apps, like Darker, were able to dim the nav bar and status bar. Seems Android 8 kills that. Any workarounds or apps updated to d the nav bar?
Was wondering about that as well.
My main problem is the notification drawer, which burns my retinas at night.
Currently using Twilight.

I also use Twilight (have done for years) and have the same issue. It's disappointing that Sony removed the standard Night Mode from Oreo, because I've seen it on a mate's Pixel and it works very well - like Twilight did on previous versions.
I use the xBlack - Red Theme where the buttons are just grey dots and it's ok for my eyes. So maybe that's a solution.

There are ways to mod the looks of your phone without having to root Andromeda can be set up with a couple of ADB commands, this then gives you access to Substratum.
The modules that I use most are SX DarkRes, Swift Black and Spectrum.
Spectrum is probably the best place to start for custom dark nav bar.
Hi I'm looking for suggestion options or just tricks that would allow me to change how gesture controls work. I am coming from OP and much more prefer swiping from the bottom to go back as I have to many things that go into menus from left or right so is there a app out there that allows better control of that.
Also all my previous phones had the ability to hide status bar icons by default or by pressing the gear settings icon, is that available in 11 or with pixel 5?
Thanks for the help.

For navigation, I use Fluid NG (I don't have this phone however).
Pixels don't have the ability to hide statusbar icons.
Thanks! Requires root?

On Android 11, yes. Fluid NG cannot hide the navbar on 11 so you have to do it with some method that requires root.
Oneplus 8 pro coming tomorrow.
Actually, system UI tuner shortcut from Brian c in the playstore will let you hide statusbar icons without root.
Navbar is a different story!
Icons is what I wanted will try. Ty
Worked great! Ty
