Not able to flash
Have unlocked bootloader and , I am unable to install marshmallow November patch , is there any solution except reverting back to stock recovery
what's the error you've been getting?
Well there is no such information in your post and subject
Hi all,
I unlocked the bootloader of my OREO X4 and flashed root - Magisk.
Today I received a February update with security fixes.
Unfrortunately, I am uncertain how safe it is to update it. Do you know of any complications, that may occur, if i update by OTA and do not flash the whole again ?
It is too much of a hassle to configure it again, honestly.
Thank for your help !
I have the XT1900-1 android one version. Before unlocking my bootloader, I had the December 2018 security update. I unlocked my bootloader to get lineageOS, but decided to go back to stock using muchy_cool's guide. But now the security patches are going up to November 2018, and then it says its up to date.
Is there a difference between the stock firmware from the guide and the stock firmware upon buying the phone? I would assume so because if I relock the bootloader again, the warning message on boot changes to "device has loaded a different operating system". But then this is still stock firmware. Why don't the updates get detected?

Well it sounds like the OTAs ARE working if you're still on the November update. (My non-Pie phone is still on October update and Android 8.0)
It sounds like you just haven't gotten the December update yet. So did you first get September, October, and November?
As I am aware, even if you got the update it will fail at the moment of installation. There is no official stock recovery available so far that's why even if you lock the bootloader you are using the modified system warning shows at the time of booting.
So, here's the thing: I upgraded to Pie using the leaked OTA. When the January update became available last month I didn't try to rollback or anything because it had nothing new.
Now the February patch is supposed to have the missing Pie apps (Digital Wellbeing, etc) and it would be really nice to be able to update, but I can't even update to the Jan one since it gives me error when trying to install the patch.
What's the best way to go to the February security patch? Should I try to flash an official firmware, and how?
I'm on 00WW_5_110 and my phone isn't unlocked or anything.
Yay, I did it! I followed this guide from here about unlocking the bootloader but only as far as downgrading to November patch.
After that it installed the official December Pie beta and then the January patch. It doesn't find the February update, but I guess it just isn't available in my region.
Does anyone have, or is there a way to install the July security update to my Unlocked Sprint V40 which is on the May Security Patch. OTA will not work.
Thanks for any help.
