Ls991 IMEI FIX - Sprint LG G4

Hello this is my first post, I need advice regarding IMEI fix for my unlocked Ls991,
I've received it as a gift for Christmas and I really like this device, it's not blacklisted or stolen, but the problem is that I live in Syria where the regime and carrier networks will block the phone from connecting to network unless I play an unreasonably high fee just to allow my net phone to work on Syrian network which is very unfair.
I've paid the fee for my old phone and I'm not wiiling to pay it again every time I get a new phone, I wish If I could just change IMEI of my new phone and put my old phone's IMEI instead so they can't find out that I got a new device.
As an Android enthusiast I've read many articles, but I'm still not very sure I can make this change cause I'm afraid I may brick my new phone, a comprehensive guide from the trusted xda devs will help me make this jump.
I think the only possible way to do it is to flash efs partition - correct me if I'm wrong -
Xposed framework will only mask IMEI and the carrier will still find the hard-coded one.
And what about unlock status, I think it's encoded in efs as well,
Thnx everybody for your contribution
Have a great day

so of coarse this is a touchy subject what firmware are u on is it zv6 through zva if so root it use xposed and there a module called imei changer can spoof the imei to whatever u want i use it and most online services that can do imei detection register my spoofed imei most of the time i did it with my g4 on net 10 not always a sure fire but is a possibility.
if u do get it changed to the other device change the other device to this one or destroy it
so there is no confusion in the future.
i did my g3 and forgot to change it back one time and caused a headache
other than u need the msl code from sprint and use cdma workshop to change it accordingly
the unlock on sprint lgs usually is in the carrier folder

change the esn?

Is the only way to do this with the cdma developer program
I just bought a HTC pro but its in a negative file
I have a HTC 6800 that i broke the screen on with all clean numbes like the esn can i somehow swap them with out paying another 200 dollar to buy the full program
Negative list? My guess is what your trying to say is that the phone is blacklisted because it has been stolen or lost and that the legetimate owner called the phone company to put the ESN on a blacklist. This is highly illegal and immoral as you are trying to steal the property of someone else... Even if you paid good money for it.
In that case I don't think anyone here on XDA will be helping you. It's not because we are unlocking phones here and by this way we violate the terms of the limited warranty of mobile phone opperators that we all steal and pirate stuff. We merely enhance the functionnality of our phones. If you found the phone or stole it you should bring it back to it's belonging carrier in a store.
Anyway if this is not the case you should know that even if both the phones are your legal property(Then I apologize for the little morality speech... Please ignore it.), this is still an illegal procedure you are undertaking. I really doubt you will find active help in this thread, moreover this has been discussed many times in other threads. Have you search?
Good luck anyway in getting a working phone!
Its not stolen the guy that had it before still owes money on the bill so the phone cant be used
bell knows I have the phone
I have done a lot of searching and I have found a lot out
Just wondering if there was a way around the program for $200 that will help me fix the phone
Ide like to get it working .......... worst part is that i know it can be done Just need a bit of direction
O well.............

I hope I'm not going to get into trouble for linking off site, this isn't the place for this topic as psyko_chewbacca said. I think you might be interested in this thread though http://www.mobile-files.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87425&page=20 the solution(post 192?) is for a touch diamond, might work on your phone. A forum search on that site might turn up even more. That site is more appropriate for topics such as this though.

Willis
Thanks!
That thread has lots of good info abut as far as i can see i still need CDMA workshop
im still looking for it

downloaded unlocker thread dissapeared is it safe ?

i understand the implications of some unlockers modifying IMEI's and understand reasons for this not being welcome on the forum, but now i don't know why it has been tottaly removed without an answer ? now i dont know if its ok to use or not. i cant be the only person to have downloaded it right ?
would it not have been better to have removed the posts linking the file as apposed to the whole thread itself giving somone ( a modorator ) time to establish whether it was potencially illegal or not ?
i just wanna know if its legal to use or not ?
don't mean to sound shirty or anything.
i dont think its legal, if you mess with your imei, you dont have insurance anymore in case something happens to your phone.
and are there not other ways to unlock your phone?
i remember network codes on the old samsung and nokia phones. like *#-----#
only stolen phones needs new/change of IMEI
this is the reason why it is illegal, as it provides a venue for stolen phones to be used by others
As above

[Q] Help Choosing Rom To Flash

I have moved his over to the appropiate section and copied and pasted my question.
I am new to this forum and apologize for my noobness in advance as i wasn't sure either to post this here or in the Android Software and Hacking General section and i appreciate any comments as i understand i am new here and have contributed nothing to this forum. Here is my dilemma, i recently purchased a t mobile g1 from a friend about two weeks ago because i was interested in the android OS. Being in the UK it is locked to the T-mobile network which my existing sim is orange. I understand that there was a developers ROM that was released (codenamed holiday (adp 1.1)) which allows other networks to be used on the g1 e.g orange etc as its a developer version. I was wondering what compatible ROMS for the g1 (htc dream) that would allow me to use my orange sim. Again i really do appreciate nay comments and help i receive and understand i have not contributed to this community and it is highly rude to ask for something when given nothing.
Changing the ROM on your device will not unlock it so that you can use it on any network. You need to get an unlock code for your device. T-Mobile US will give these out to their subscribers but I don't know about your carier. If they don't you can get it online too. They will need your phone's IMEI to generate the code. Just put in the new SIM and it will prompt you for the code regardless of the ROM you have.
isnt there such a thing as a hardware unlock though if i use a custom rom?. I brought this phone from a friend so i doubt phoning t-mobile will help get me a code.
p.s. cheers for taking the time to comment
No, I'm fairly sure the only way to unlock this device is what I posted above.
i thought you just needed a t-mob sim to login and then you were free to choose after this whole rooting/flashing thing.
its already a long time ago, so i might confuse a lot and its only that what i think to know. nothing sure..
i wanted an android phone and my friend was saying i culd get his off him and i thought that be a perfect time to get into the android os and stuff, i wasnt ure if i coulld by rooting/flashing that id be able to use another network thats why i wondered if i flashed it to a deveopler rom the adp1 one i could us another sim, i will look into the method beav_35 put but im not sure on any reputable sites to trust to do this method.

IMEI

Forgive me if this has been asked before but how important is it to have the correct IMEI?
I've been flashing my phone since i got it a year ago but in the last week i've been using a miui rom for the first time. I love the rom but as many others have said my imei is now wrong. The thing is i have no problems with data, calls or messages or anything else.
Do i need to restore it or carry on and don't worry about it?
cheers
Warranty! If something happens to your phone and you want it to be fixed, your IMEI is checked, if it's not correct I'm pretty sure they will not repair it. Also most people claim to have issues using android market and making calls, but obviously this is not your problem.
Thanks for that. I won't worry about mine for the moment as everything is working fine.
Under the battery, you see your correct IMEI, so you can check if it is the same if you write *#06# in your dialer.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
If you lose your phone, the IMEI number can be used to block it
So flashing with a custom rom will change the imei? That's great!
I will be getting a SGS2 soon, and the phone is associated to my identity which i think it is absolutely unacceptable (I can understand others wanting this in case their phone gets stolen, but at least I think it should be optional)
Please dont come with legalities... the illegals are the governments and corporations building this unfair system and using technology against the population to control them and keep their position on top.
Should we build a .onion site like Silk Road for IMEI spoofing development and IMEI number exchange?
Thanks

IMEI changes only when the rom flashing process went wrong .. when your IMEI is wrong your device will keep crashing every 2 seconds and you wont be able to use the phone at all. . ( I've had this already O_O )

root guide for sm-n960u

what guide should i follow for this phone to root it? android v10
You must be new here. I believe you have to be on Android 8 to be rooted and plus, it's pointless from what I read, anyways. For one, your phone will never fully charge and 2, I'd already inquired about it, the rooting process ends up not being dependable and your phone will no longer be a daily driver. So, the thought of it is a no for me.
I doubt there's even a way to go back to Android 8 and any necessary security patch levels.

You don't have to be on oreo right now for it to work, you just need a combo firmware that uses the same bootloader revision as what you're currently on. You can currently get an oreo combo firmware up to revision 4. Basically it's a "modded" oreo firmware that uses the same bootloader version as newer firmwares.
Please change title or close this thread. Got me excited for nothing
Why close ? Its informative.
Now i know i need to sell my phone caz it cannot be rooted.
How ever, S8+ on 9.0 had root but some devices such as mine were turning into brick attempting to root them due to bootloader version conflict which was not identified by root method or person who wrote the method.
Bricked several S8+ phones attempting to root. Was too afraid to try my last one.
Hell, am not made of money buying phones every time root turns it into a brick where even EDL'ing wont fix it.

I dont like to just follow steps on some dodgy website, i'd rather follow steps here on forum since people can validate it.
Too scared to try, too little information about side effects.

Yeah, don't trust random websites. They mostly contain generic procedures that are either vastly outdated or downright wrong.
I have a rooted N960U, and this is what it takes to get there:
To actually be able to root an N960U, you have to be on a software version with an Android security patch level of February 1, 2021 or older (if you look at the baseband version under software information in the About phone section under Settings, the 5th digit from the right should be a 7 or lower number). Anything newer than that is unrootable as far as I know. And for the rooting procedure, you have to unlock the bootloader first which currently requires a paid service as mentioned in the following post:

Finlay someone giving useful info.
I looked at the sampwn website for unlocking service and i didnt like it.
It threw some kind of subscribe message at me covering entire page so i couldn't even see what the website is all about.
Then it constantly showing "someone purchased this or that" and opens a chat i dont want to see.
Those are 3 red flags for a fishy website so i have to pass.
I did how ever manage to look at the purchase process page and it was also full of red flags.
It was asking too much personal information.
It did not say what you are buying, how much you going to pay for it or what payment method is accepted.
Entire website has a theme of a scammer website, or at the very least it was built using those themes and thus it acts just like it.
Telegram, discord username required ? What if i dont have one ?
Do you want my password to my bank as well ?
Card number with expiration date and full name address and 3 security digits to pay ?
Are you F'ing serious ?
I dont know a single website that sell you stolen serial keys or cracked software that ask you this much information and claim "its required"
Besides, if there is a paid way, there must be a free way.
Who is this guy, owner of some sort of unlocking device ?
Whats the point of locking it if some lone wolf can unlock it anyway ?
Very sketchy.

Whatever method is being used to unlock the bootloader on these models has not been made public, so that's why there are only paid ways.
I can't speak for SamPWND as I used the first link with UNSAMLOCK, and the guy running it was quite helpful and did things quickly. But you do need to contact him through Telegram.
This is certainly not for everyone, so you really have to be sure you want it as it's a one-time, one device only thing. Otherwise, you'll have to look at the Exynos models or the international Snapdragon N9600 model for freely available bootloader unlocking and rooting methods.
SamPWND is a group on telegram i joined.
But i cant contact anyone there. All i get is what the owner posts.
How am i suppose to contact the owner if i want to unlock my bootloader ?
Jeezes ! Why they make things more complicated then they need to ?
In any case, the owner of that channel is some guy named Mohammad Afaneh
Are you F'ing kidding me ?
I am not sending my phone to some guy named Mohammad. Hell no !
He either hack it or put ship me a bomb back that will explode when i open it.

That's pretty strange for a Telegram group. Check the UNSAMLOCK one then as that's the one I used and had no problems with.
But remember that only older software versions are eligible. If yours is later than February 2021, then you won't be able to do anything.

Afaneh has a good rep on XDA, for all I've seen. But I read you about Telegram, kinda irritrates me how it's taken away from the much more available xda forums. I could join, but like I was saying elsewhere just last night, I'm already way too "joined" as it is.
