Notification pull down lag fix!!! - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

This is very simple! Turning on certain, if not all, apps that require Accessibility causes notification draw lag.
I thought it was installing too many apps but I was wrong. Granting certain apps Accessibility causes lag.
Disabling the app or apps in Accessibility should make your notification area move smooth again.
For example sake, take a look at the pic below. If I had "Chrooma Keyboard Picker Service" turned on I would be getting the lag. But since I turned it off I'm lag free.
Hope this helps!

I had to uninstall lux dash auto brightness for this. Pretty sure it had accessibility services enabled too. Anyone else notice any problem apps?

Yup. We need to bring this to 1+'s attention.

I have lag too when I pull down the notification, but I have no apps turned on in Accessibility.

I'm using LastPass app to store passwords and fill in them when needed using a fingerprint. It requires accessibility toggle to be on in order for the notification to float.

@Xennet you can ask me anything here.
But I wanna find out about changing the font

I just found out something while playing with fonts. U can hav 2 diff fonts in ur system ui...
In oneplus 3t...
One type of group of font is system wide for keyboard, settings (except the main group headings in settings) and in every other places
The other group of font is used in status bar, in settings in the main headings and in main headings in apps...
To do this u need to change two group of font files in t directory system/fonts.
The first font group i mentioned is droid sans.ttf and droid sans bold.ttf
The second font group is roboto regular, roboto medium, and roboto bold ttf.
(Replace all the fonts in t first and second grup, just replacing 1 font will not do t trick.)
For replacing t fonts just use any of ur favourite font file in ttf format (dont use otf format fonts) rename it exactly as the font to be replaced and most importantly after replacing t font give permission to the file as rw- r-- r-- and reboot.
By using fonster and other font changing apps u can only have one font system wide. But using this method u get 2 diff fonts in t system at the same time. Just play around

Absolutely worked for me. LastPass app was the culprit. Unfortunately this breaks LastPass quite severely so I hope a fix is still in the works. I am going to the main site to see if there is a bug report.

Lockscreen DPI

I changed my DPI systemwide to 560. The dialer, lockscreen and camera become off set. So I downloaded app settings through xposed and changed dialer and camera DPI back to 640 and solved the off set issue. However I can't find the actual file/app name for the lockscreen. There's 100s of system files/apps to choose from. Does anyone know what the actual lockscreen is called. For example com.android.security or something like that. If anyone knows it would be great. I don't want to edit 300 systems apps one by one until I fix my lockscreen. I've tried apps simular to security but nothing changes my lockscreen DPI back to 640.
It should be keyguard if memory serves me right
That was like the second or third one i tried. Didnt fix it

RESOLVED: Found another thread that talks about this and has the fix --> Make sure that "Apply res to widgets" is CHECKED in com.android.keyguard along with DPI 640 AND reboot. There is only one entry and not two. It is com.android.keyguard. See link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...anging-note-4-dpi-settings-to-change-t2923408
Hi budco2000, I am having the same problem as you on the lockscreen once I changed my system wide DPI.
Using Xposed's App Settings, I can only find one entry of keyguard (com.android.keyguard) and not the second one like you mentioned. I tried different keywords like "key", "guard", "pin", "lock" and still not able to find the second keygurad entry. So, my lockscreen's PIN pad is still not aligned.
Can you please tell me what's the second entry you are referring to, please? I am using the same T-Mobile's Note 4 on AT&T
Thanks

Block blue light setting just appeared on my notification bar.

I'm running Pure Nexus, and it's not been updated in a while, so I know it's not the rom, but I've not been able to find what app is now causing this "block blue light" setting to appear on my notification pulldown menu. I really don't like these new stuff being added without my knowledge.
Edit I think I found it, my Buzz Launcher was the culprit.

That's mostly true. It's true that I installed it, but when I installed that app, it didn't have that "feature" at the time...and there was no notice that that feature had been added, other than it just appearing on my notification pulldown. It's not the first time I've run across new updates adding major adds, for example the ES App Locker fast charging lock screen add.

Long Press on the notification, it should give you the silence/info buttons after a moment. Click the info (i) button, it should open the app info page for that app.

APK for reverting back to black NavBar

Hey,
I used this on my S8 Plus, and tried it on my Note 8 and it works too. It adds the option for a black navbar back in the Display > Navigation Bar settings. Just install the APK, reboot and head into the settings to turn it on.

Cheers
Wonder why they removed it. Did they want to avoid screen burn in with this model?
Yea was remove due to burn in or wash out

Thank you much for this, it was driving me nuts and all other colors are lame and are not consistent with a blacked-out theme.
Much appreciated!
Nevermind, the option was blacked out due to black theme. Thanks!
Not seeing where you turn this on. No option in the Navbar settings.

See if this one does, I don't believe it did. If it does it's probably because that's where you have it stored prior to installation.

I can confirm it ask for SD card and Phone permissions, both versions uploaded here in the thread. I went ahead and disabled the permissions and seems to work fine still, even after a restart. Still odd to ask for phone permissions tho

Works on mine once theme controls for Nav bar were turned off.

Nav Bar Disable!

I know some people are looking for this. I have been searching through a lot of posts and found some Apk's that didn't work or worked through the Samsung theme blaba. I found one that works without too much trouble, install and reboot! Sometimes it will ask to be Uninstalled when you delete a app. Just click cancel, sorry for original maker but I cannot find the post where I found the Apk.
Make sure to have an alternate way of navigating before installing!

I love the concept but long home press stops working, and alternatives to the nav bar dont work in secure mode.
Does any one know of a working navbar height reducer?
I have tried a few apk's that were working on S8+ but they have no effect on Note 8.
Thanks in advance

What I'd prefer is the ability to see my nav icons only across the entire system, across all apps, but make the background of the nav bar transparent. Using no themes. Stock. Does that make sense? Things are transparent whilst I'm on the home screen, naturally. So that's not an issue. But across all apps? That's what I'd LOVE to have.

Probably.
Have you tried reducing the DPI in developer options?

Navbar weirdness

I installed some mod that made my navbar look and act weird. Basically, after installing a certain mod (can't tell which one actually), the navbar looks like this:
I wouldn't mind it too much but the fact the home softkey is not perfectly centered annoys me. Also, on this navbar, clicking the home softkey plays the little animation with the four google dots, another thing that I don't really like.
If I go to Settings, Apps & Notifications, Default Apps, Assist & Voice Input, and change it say to Firefox, and then back to None, the navbar becomes normal again.
But at reboot I get the crappy misaligned one again. I don't use any Assist&Voice Input app, so I set it to none. I also deleted the Google App and Assistant and everything else related to it, because I don't use that stuff.
Like I said, I think a mod that I installed caused this issue. It could have been Pix3lify or the modded Xperia Home with the pill navbar. I removed both mods but the navbar goes back to the weird one after any reboot, so maybe a leftover from one of these mods is still in my system, but I can't find it. How can I restore the default navbar without doing a factory reset? Unfortunately I don't have a backup and I would rather avoid the factory reset. Again it's not a big deal, but I would like to fix it.
While this might not be a perfect solution, you can modify the looks of the navbar with a substratum theme.
Such as this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rc.navigate
This is the substratum theme engine, and it requires root on android 9 and up:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=projekt.substratum
If you need more info about substratum look in the app's description or just ask here.

Sorry, I don't know that.
Maybe this article about modifying the stock navbar can be useful?
https://www.xda-developers.com/add-custom-buttons-to-nav-bar-on-samsung-galaxy-s8-galaxy-s8/
Or this one:
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...icons-or-re-arrange-the-buttons-without-root/
They might mention it somewhere.
Weirdly enough, if I use Substratum, the theme I set appears on top of the crappy navbar, and by that I mean that I see both at once once. Guess I'll have to factory reset huh
I was bored today so I came back to this issue. I reflashed System with flashtool, which brought back all the bloatware obviously, but the navbar stays in its weird mode. If I create a new user, the new user gets a normal navbar. If I enable Google and the search assistant, the navbar stays weird on reboot but as soon as I start Google, the navbar becomes normal again.
Anyone know a possible solution to this puzzle?

Just do a full reset and start from scratch. No one likes doing them, but sometimes it's the only option.
