I received an update on my P9, stock non rooted. When I try to apply the update I receive
"Package checksum error"
I deleted the HuOUC folder and tried again but with no luck.
Rebooting and wiping cache did not help either.
What could be the problem?

Try with HiSuite, while donwloading files, you can find them in "Documents/HiSuite/ROM/".
When the donwload reach the 100%, copy rapidly the files to another location, you can verify the MD5 checksum in each file included in filelist.xml (file sizes too).
Anyway, if no luck, try with another internet connection.

Hi,
just had a bad experience with the updater today. Due to a bad connection the downloaded zip files were corrupt causing the updater to try and abort every time.
Why not let the OTA Upgrade also download a associated MD5 file for each Upgrade ZIP? TWRP's default action if a .md5 file present is to check the file CRC before trying to apply a upgrade. If md5 is wrong it will be skipped.
a little change for a better upgrade process.
Thanks

MD5 is already checked I think. Are you sure it aborts because of that? Have you tried turning off secure flashing thing?

What I mean is placing the MD5 file on download to the zip file. Currenty TWRP is lcearly stating "No md5 file" so the CRC check is skipped. The problem was that one of my downloaded zip files was corrupt but it still startet to unpack it unfortunately it broke at 80% and left my device in a unfinished update state. This should never happen. Luckily I was able to recover by installing the latest full omni download which was still on the SD Card.
So my post here is just a suggestion to also add a .md5 file for each automatically downloaded zip update. There is not much more to do then this because twrp will do the remaining work and check CRC before starting extraction.

Hmm, did you disable secure mode?
That should NOT have happened in secure mode because ZIP signature verification would have failed.

post the output of fastboot getvar all except imei and serialno
you have unlocked bootloader. This process wipe /data including all HTC preloaded apps in /data/preload/. The ota updates sometime applies patches to these preloaded app. If they are missing, youmust put them back in that folder and set the right permission.

1. Hi, first You Phone needs to stay Rooted
2.you need to have your phone S-on
3.You would have to get your Current Phone's OTA in Zip Downloaded
4.Get es Explorer
5.Decompress The OTA.zip Somewhere on your Pc then Browse through it,You will see a folder Data/Preload
6.Copy everything and paste it in your Phone anywhere you want it
7.Now use the es explore To create the same folder in 0/Data Create new folder Preload there then paste the Whole thing there
8.Now from the es Explorer Change the Permission of every file and apps ( Check on everything)
I almost forgot u must be on original stock recovery of your Phone for the update to run
9.Paste The new Ota update in your downloads then Check for updates then you would get Update completed Intall now.
10.Install it now And you are Done
Sense looks very awesome let me now if there is anything else
I ran into this exact problem and just reflashed the stock ruu with s off and ran all the ota updates again and it worked.
Good luck!
So after some messing around today with one of the cm12 builds, everytime I try to do anything in twrp I get the error "E: Unable to stat ' /data/power_supply_logger/power_supply_info.bin' " and i have no idea how to solve it. The only effect it seems to have is it makes restoring and backing up data fail at the last second (although as far as I can tell all of the data makes it). The error is always right after "updating partition details". I've tried reflashing 2 or three different versions of twrp (2.7.1.1, 2.6.3.1, and 2.8.1) as well as restoring stock vzw firmware through rsd lite as well as the gpe rom to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, when flashing cm12, i get "mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc. 1/by-name/userdata at /data: Device or resource busy"

The first error or the second? I've narrowed the first down to a missing file in my data folder. Unfortunately rsd'ing doesn't help. If anyone'd be willing to upload it for me that'd be awesome. It's the bin file in /data/power_supply_logger/

That error is caused by the version of TWRP you are using. Something about different versions and different updater scripts. Some have had sucess with 2.8.1, some with 2.6.3.1 and some with 2.7.1.1. You will need to try all three until you find the one that works for you. Do not touch the power supply file, that's whats causing my first error. Somehow it got deleted, and restoring to complete stock does not replace it, thats why i need someone to upload theirs.
I botched up a ROM installation and now my phone cannot be flashed using dload (it doesnt accept any type of update.app since it says that it is incompatible), and eRecovery is not finding its package info every single time. On flashing the official ZIP file via TWRP, it always says that the /data cannot be mounted due to "device or resource busy".
Can someone help me? Thanks!

Device or resource busy shouldnt be a problem, the flash will be fine.
Goto twrp
wipe Cache, Data, Cust, System, Vendor, Product
flash for EXAMPLE EVA_L09_C432_B386_update.zip (dont try to flash the update.app only)
flash for EXAMPLE B386_update_data_full_EVA-L09_hw_eu.ZIP.
Reboot System
If this is not working or you already tried the tings i mentioned above you can extract the Update.app and flash the essential partitions with fastboot (watch out my friend)
This did the trick! Thanks!
Hello to all. Sorry for my English, I do not speak it very well. I have a p8 lite 2017 and I'm trying to flash a stock firmware downloaded from firmware finder. My problem is this: when I try to flash 2 of the 3 files (update.zip, full.zip), the twrp gives me an error and in particular
