Hello
I replaced the bootanimation.zip file in system/media and my phone just loops the animation forever.
--things I tried--
-Wiping the cache partition
-Wiping data/factory reset
--Phone info--
-Model: Optimus Boston 4g
-It is rooted
-It hasn't any custom rom
--Bootloop description--
When I switch on the phone it shows the manufacter logo, then the animation starts playing and then at some random point it stops and the animation plays all again.
I've instaled this bootanimation: https://forum.xda-developers.com/go...pps/bootanimation-nexus-5-animations-t2789918 (the nougat one)
If I could acess the phone internal system I could change the bootanimation.zip to the default one easily, is that even possible?
All of your help would be appreciated.

Try using adb replace your boot animation.
Or Flash your stock firmware

Here is the little bit modified version of bootanimation from system dump of Xperia Play.
This boot animation has been modified to run in loop and give better effect on DHD as I didn't like the one which came from dump...
As usual try at your on risk I am not responsible for anything....
Use root explorer to copy the bootanimation file into /system/media, or use adb to pust the file....reboot and enjoy...
Also attached is the splash screen matching to bootanimation.
Unzip the splash and copy the splash img to same folder as fastboot. connect the phone in fast boot mode and run "fastboot flash splash1 splash.img" to use the new splash screen.
Have you screens of this bootanimation
Hi,
I'm using Jellaxy ROM and I think there's something wrong that makes my phone stuck on bootscreen.
I noticed my ROM is having an issue with some services called 'netd', which using too many CPU usage, so I have to kill the process using Terminal Emulator everytime my phone feels laggy. It works but I have to do that multiple times on single day.
So I think if I just move the 'netd' files from /system/bin to another folder (in this case, /system), my phone won't be able to run it. And yes it works, but here's comes the next problem, when I try to reboot it, my phone stuck on CW bootscreen. I have solved it for the first time, I boot into CWM recovery, and run ADB through my computer to move the file back to its original folder. My phone had successfully reboot, problem solved and I move the file back again.
And today, I decided to reboot my phone after copy the file back to /system/bin folder, but it stuck on bootscreen again. I've tried to re-copy again, but now it seems my phone won't let me access its /system folder via ADB. I've tried to using Aroma File Manager but the result is the same.
Please help, and sorry for the long post.
EDIT : I've solved it by choosing "Fix Permissions" in CWM.
I know that you can change the moboot default option but I was curious if it was possible to skip the boot select screen completely and boot straight into Cyanogenmod? I have no reason to boot into WebOS and can boot into recovery via the power option inside Android. It just adds polish to just see the boot splash first when the device is switched on plus it saves a few seconds of waiting around.
Thanks!
I think you could set timeout to 0.
Unfortunately, that just turned off timeout all together.
Anyone have any other ideas?
You could try deleting moboot but I don't recommend it. Might work, might break things.

Please mind that if your ROM becomes unbootable and you can't boot straight to the recovery, it will be more problematic to fix.
However, I think it is possible. There's a possibility to set the next image to be booted by a text file on the boot partition. I don't remember the exact name and content, but this way android makes the moboot reboot straight to the recovery. Moboot reads the file, boots the desired image and deletes the file. So you would need to create such file for booting the android image and make that file somehow permanent. I don't think changing permissions would be enough, but you could recreate it every (re)boot by some script.
I was going to point out the same thing pojir said above me. Sure, you could boot into recovery from CM9 but if you cant boot into CM9 and are stuck in a boot loop or something, then what? Just set the timer to 1 second and have it boot to CM9 by default. It shouldn't be a big problem to wait 1 second before booting begins.
I've attempted to do a search but yielded no results...
I attempted to modify build.prop but of course, being the noob that I am, forgot to change permissions and got my Xperia Z into a boot loop...
Now the catch is this - I've tried pushing a stock build.prop through adb and also using the file manager in TWRP to move the correct (stock) build.prop in /system. However, the bootloop still continues, and booting into recovery shows that the build.prop file has disappeared from the directory every time I reboot. I've tried the process a few times and it doesn't work. I did change permissions to 0644 after copying build.prop to /system, and I've also tried doing a factory reset, restoring the nandroid (without the build.prop, somehow it's not in the backup) and then pushing build.prop through both adb and the inbuilt file manager. It shows up, but my phone continues to be in a bootloop while booting into recovery shows that the whole build.prop file is gone.
I'm on stock firmware .233, rooted.
Anyone could provide any help or solutions to this problem? My goal is to restore without losing any data... Thanks in advance for any help!
Flash a stock FTF with Flashtool with no wipes. You'll have to root again, but your phone should then at least boot.

I've tried to flash several other boot animations as well as yours and every time my watch boots with the stock animation? WTF. Maybe I need to manually copy the animation zip into the proper directory? Do you know if the proper directory is /data/local/ ?

To do it manually just in terminal type in "adb push (location of boot animation) /system/media/ " Then boot into TWRP and mount system then go into files then to system/media and click on the boot animation then click chmod and change permissions to 644 and reboot

I've tried every different method I found to install your boot animations but nothing works. I still get the stock boot animation. HOWEVER, I did notice something odd. When I put the zip in the /system/media directory I am NOT able to change its permissions in TWRP? It give me a red error message. I'm rooted with TWRP and I have Root Checker to confirm root. Is it not letting me change the permissions because I am unable to mount the system? But in TWRP I check the box to mount the system. Is there a quick way for me to confirm whether or not I am able to mount the system? Any help you may offer is greatly appreciated and compensated....

did you try and just flash it? Because that should work it has on both my urbane and huawei watches
Can you post me a screen shot of the error or what the error says, also try using 0644 instead of just 644.
