Hello Everyone I am a user of nexus 5x but my nexus was dead so i ordered One Plus 3t.
What i want to Ask It How Much Difficult It Is to unlock bootloader of This Device? Is it offline or online via website?
and i want to flash straight away when i recieve my device is TWRP and A Rom Wit SUpports Substratum Fully. Which Rom You Suggest that supports Substratum Fully.
Unlocking/rooting the 3T is easy. All you need is a PC, ADB, FASTBOOT and the TWRP image plus SuperSU. Activate developer options in OxygenOS, enter the bootloader, Flash TWRP and then enter the recovery. That's the very short Version. Just search the guides section, you'll find everything you need. OnePlus is more open to rooting then it's competitors.
Most roms support substratum. Have a look on the roms available in the roms section.

The bootloader is easy to unlock, offline, just like the 5x. About substratum, I think you have many roms to choose from, based on cyanogen mode (lineage).
developer option => oem unlock slide = fastboot => minimalADBFastboot installed PC/ or Linux => fastboot oem unlock
as for theming, there is this thread all about it (availability of roms etc)

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering what I need to do when i receive the device. I am in Australia and the phone might be the Chinese model.
So is there anything I have to do with the phone to make it usable as I've heard you need to flash on the global ROM.
How do I properly set up my device for use?
Thanks

Not easy.To flash the global version miui, you need to unblock your boolloader, then download the global package, and flash it with the miflash. But to unlock the bootloader, you need a mi account and make a Application.

If you bought from a chinese-based online store, most likely your device has a fake ROM. To get rid of that ROM, you need to unlock bootloader. No matter if you want to flash an official ROM or unofficial xiaomi.eu. You can try to change ROM with MIUI Updater app, but most probably it will not work from a fake ROM.
To unlock bootloader you need at least a couple of things: a xiaomi account you can create here Mi Account -> account.xiaomi.com
After you create your MI account you need to request unlock here MI Unlock en.miui.com/unlock and wait several days to be approved for unlocking. In my case it took 4 or 5 days before I received an SMS of approval.
Then download MI Unlock app (Windows) and search a manual for unlocking device (you need to activate developer options).
In order to unlock bootloader you need a Chinese ROM (stable or dev) but If I'm not wrong all 'fake' devices come with a chinese-based ROM, otherwise wouldn't be a fake ROM?
After you achieve unlocking you can flash any ROM, Global or China, unofficial like xiaomi.eu, etc..
Flash global rom without unlocking bootloader
There is a way to flash global rom without unlocking bootloader using special USB cable that you can make yourself if you still want to do so i'll gladly show you how I did with my phone.
If you are tired and irked by MIUI, I would strongly recommend you to quickly apply for Bootloader unlocking permission on the official Miui site. Afterwards, unlock your bootloader and install official TWRP recovery and a ROM of your choice such as CM14.1. That way, you will be able to experience the true "openess" and magic of Android!
You can install CyanogenMod ROM, but unfortunately you will get no updates, since project has been discontinued on Dec 31 . Their successor is http://lineageos.org/ but there's nothing on their web yet.
Do create a MiAccount.. and do remember your security pattern... what ever you intend to do next do those two things
no need to unlock bootloader.
Xiaomi flash ROM came with 2 method.
you can flash not only from fastboot mode ( bootloader mode ) but also from edl mode ( QDloader 9008 mode ).
- fastboot method need to unlock bootloader.
- EDL method not need to unlock bootloader .
EDL method even can unlock bootloader with unofficial method

Chances are Google will come pre-installed, problem is with vendor rom as well just follow the guides (in the guide section, you don't have to root if you flash genuine Chinese ROM don't even need TWRP. If you want EU ROM then TWRP is needed but not root, need to flash dm-verify before first boot if you don't root. If you go Chinese ROM can get Google from mi store.
Hi,
Your device should come with a Vendor ROM pre-installed which already has all the Google apps built in.
Its okay to use the vendor ROM if you dont mind not getting any updates. Just check with Malwarebytes to see if there is any malware. Malwarebytes flagged the default MIUI Notes app as a downloader trojan for me and a few others.
I personally wouldnt advice being on the Vendor ROM but thats just my opinion.
Anyway, as you wait for your phone to arrive, you can try applying for an Unlock code using the guide posted by underlines.
I would recommend switching to the EU ROM as it is a very clean and stable ROM with no bloatware. You can also refer to the guide I've posted if you wish to switch to the EU ROM from a Vendor ROM.
Its simple and as long as you follow the steps, you shouldn't face any issues.
Thanks guy I keep you posted.

You have a Vendor ROM on the device. Follow one of the guides and flash a ROM of your choice!
As long as you follow all the steps carefully, you shouldn't face any issues.

Did you check whether bootloader is locked? There is a possibility that it is already unlocked.
And yes, you can flash official ROM via fastboot mode even if your bootloader is locked but it requires a special flash cable. Another way is to flash via EDL mode which bypasses a locked bootloader but this is a risky process and is usually only recommended as a last resort. Anyway none of the official ROMS have GAPPS built-in so I'd suggest its best you wait till you get the unlock code if your device isnt already unlocled.

oem device-info came fales only i already requested for unlocking i think i have to wait only.
It ws esy unlocking the bl in g5s+ , what about the z3 play, wife surprised me with this phone, im liking it already, but would like to unlock the bl and eve tually gain root/custom recovery ?
Anyone?
Depends on the model you have specifically, certain ones cant be unlocked such as amazon version. But the steps are the same as all other android phone bootloader unlocks, Steps can be found on motorola website:
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a
The basics consist of:
enable developer mode
enable "OEM Unlock" in developer settings
fastboot into phones bootloader and run OEM unlock commands
copy unlock code from phone that you get using oem unlocking commands into motorola website
receive email from motorola with unlock "password"
enter password into adb terminal
phone will be wiped and bootloader unlocked
Thats what i thought, i went there just to see , looks the same as for my G5S+ , ill likely do this. Is there guide somewhere on instally magisk as im outdated ( an old chainfire guy) just need some hints , doesnt look like twrp works , what about clockwork mod? Thats fine as well, , any good roms? Think 9 is comming?
Magisk root is straight forward. You can either get a working boot.img for your device from a firmware package and patch/flash it yourself. Or boot NOT flash the twrp images from the twrp website and install the magisk zip that way. The twrp for this device hasn't been compiled for flashing. It boots but flashing it to your device will boot loop it. No custom ROMs that I know of but I'm just using stock with magisk and it's fine once you have root to delete the bloat ware apps and install tweaks from magisk.
On AliExpress on almost all listings on Huawei devices (P20 Pro for instance) there is the option to buy it with a flashed Global ROM. And they do this without unlocking the bootloader.
How do they do it? Is it that the bootloader on the Chinese version is unlocked?
For example...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-pro/how-to/guide-force-update-using-firmware-t3963074
This is just a stock rom, you can download an update.zip and install it via recovery no problem.
Don't make the mistake of thinking this is a custom rom like AOSP it isn't.
It's completely stock, all P20 Pro devices come with an open OS afaik, then when you turn it on with your SIM it binds to the carrier / location, least that's my understanding of it.
But 100% not a custom ROM.

What do you mean by an "open OS"?
My Huawei device has a locked bootloader, and I didn't find any way on the internet to unlock it yet. (There is a site that offers leaked unlock codes from Huawei itself for 50$ but I won't pay this much). Consequently, so far I've only been able to install official Huawei ROMs only.
*Huawei has stopped to officially offer unlock codes since a year as of now.

You don't need to unlock your bootloader, look for the otg update method on xda.
It's quite easy.
Open OS, as in its just a stock ROM. Nothing more.
Hello everybody
I need to know if there is a method to unlock the bootloader for an Oneplus Nord N100 but the BE2015 model (Metro PCS by T-Mobile) because I have not found out how to do it in this Forums
My smartphone is running Android 11 by an update (version 11.0.9.BE82CF).
My goal is to unlock the bootloader in order to install TWRP for a future custon ROM
Thanks to everybody and excuse my English.
Happy 2023
If I understand correctly you have to have the phone for 180(?) days and then "OEM unlock" will be available in developer settings. Then you have to request en unlock token from T-Mobile. (I don't have an american phone, I'm not 100% on the method)
You can get an unstable TWRP for this phone, but it will have very limited functionality. And custom ROMs is basically a forgotten dream on this phone.
Basically what you can do is sideload Magisk through TWRP (you have to use adb sideload command) and some people have installed GSI ROMs.

Really I bought the phone already unlocked, it has the "OEM unlock" function in the "Developer options". Because I didn't buy the phone directly from T-Mobile it's impossible to request the unlock token, so better I continue using it normally until I can buy another phone (I didn't comment but I live in Cuba...)
Thanks anyway for your answer...

I think you might be able to load a European/Global ROM through MSM tools. Then you can use OEM unlock command without token. Rummage through the N100 forums here and you can find guides.

I already searched and the ROMs are for BE2011/BE2013 models and mine is BE2015. My fear is to brick the phone in the process because it has a modified ROM especially for T-Mobile, thanks anyway

If all you want to do is unlock the bootloader I think you can just do this.
** WARNING: YOUR DATA WILL BE WIPED **
1. enable developer options -> oem unlock
2. start adb
3. adb reboot fastboot
4 fastboot oem unlock
if step 4 fails then try
5. fastboot reboot fastboot
6. fastboot oem unlock
The phone will show a screen to confirm unlocking. YOUR DATA WILL BE WIPED.
7. fastboot reboot
The phone should reboot. Unfortunately It will display an annoying message warning the bootloader is unlocked for quite a while before it boots into system from now on.
BTW: I had problems with twrp 3.5 for Nord N100 floating around these forums. Latest is twrp 3.7 which I'm still suspicious of. All of my flashing using TWRP on the N100 has resulted in bricking.
My successful flashes have been with fastboot.
I use TWRP on another phone and it works like a dream.
Hi,
In step 3, do
adb reboot bootloader
This will reboot in the ancient fastboot, not fastbootd. This is in this mode that you can unlock the bootloader.
