Hi guys,
I'd like to know from someone who test different ROMs, which it performs better in terms of autonomy.
On my Mi5, I tested only xiaomi.eu ROMs and recently my SOT is roughly decreased.
So I'm getting close to AOSP ROMs, even if they don't like so much because.... ehm ... MIUI is MIUI
Anyway.. I watched reviews about AICP, the new LineageOS and the RR and some friends of mine told me that RR is actually the best one.
Can you tell me something else about performance and autonomy of these ROMs? Thank you so much
hi guys, id also like to know why the same questions are being asked about custom ROMs over and over again before people have searched for the answer. Mi 5 Forum has all the answers u need. Just search.

Hi friend, in every thread I read you wrote to search better in xda-forum but noone answered properly
Some of these ROMs I mentioned were released yesterday or in this week so ...all threads are older.

Lol then continue on that thread instead of starting a new thread repeating the question. Every opinion will be based on how that individual uses their phone which is most likely different to how you use yours so the best way to determine which one is best is to try them. Just take a backup of miui and play about.

I know this have been discussed before but I cannot get a clear answer by searching this forum, googling etc.
I have been flashing many of the custom roms and they are all great work but I have too many crashes everyday. Right now maybe 3-4/day !
Usually the roms works better in the beginning but then gets worse by time.
I use my phone for business and very often I realize that my phone is just dead and no one can call me etc
I love eyecandy like Energy, Valkyrie roms etc but my first priority is stability today.
Which custom rom would you say is the most stable today ?
also .. I cannot find the last generic rom version. Link doesnt work?
Thx,
Pete
most chefs will say their rom is not bugless.. if you use your phone for business and important calls, guess you should stick to stock 6.1 or rather have a second phone
those labeled as final and unchanged for a few months or as stated above - stick to stock
sounds highly contradictory aiming for a stable and mostly bugless rom while still flashing latest wm betas...
search for generic in gtrab thread, those are not latest r3a but at least dl works
...and was it really necessary to open a new thread for these "insights"?

Sorry I didnt mean to offend or upset anyone. Just politely asking a question.
There are many many great roms but I just need to find if you find one/some particular more stable. Offcourse I accept some bugs etc but my problem is that the phone just dies several times each day.
Great work though to all chefs !
BR,
Peter
Stock rom
I have been googleing etc for hours.
I can still not find den latest swedish generic stock rom.
(I dont want the SE update service)
I want to flash with Hard SPL
All links go to the same dead link?

Another useless thread reported.
It could have been useful without all the ignorant no content answers.
You start a thread if you need answers that you are not able to find.
ie this forums sticky to generic roms is no valid.
Comparing roms from user experience is not useless.
Like a review with SE X10 vs HTC Desire.
Your answer would have been. Buy the both I am not gonna help you!
Thanks for the info I got though !

Start with the threads with the most views or top most threads (i.e., still alive). Read the very first post, view screen shots, feature lists, bug fixes, updates, etc. Then jump to the very last page to see what sort of issues people are reporting. Some are deal breakers, and some aren't. At least you can page back a few to see if the author plans an update. Even with my post count, I never ask people what to recommend. It's something too many people ask, so I end up finding those threads first!
Custom ROM images are free for many reasons, and the biggest drawback is the lack of guarantees that the builds are bug fee.
There are generic, stripped-down ROMS... you'll need to search for those or look at the stickies.
My favorite custom ROM is Touch X 10.9.1. I've had it for a few months after trying at least 3 different ROMs.
Thanks for a great answer !
I asked for the "most stable" suggestion that means I understand that they are not bugfree or totally stable.
Itje and Wildchild seems to be high contenders.
Anyway, sorry for this thread and thanks !
I promise you I have read a lot.
I joĆned 2008 and this is my first thread.

@all: One thing more annoying than a question that has been asked many times before is a meaningless flaming answer. Refrain from making it useless. As far I can tell this thread has served it's purpose, and therefore I'll close it.

I don't know if anyone broke his Xperia while flashing custom ROMs with the correct procedure, but I'll say it's 1 in 1000 cases. Read the stickies and again the ROMs Threads and choose the one you want.
If you want a bugless and fast ROM keep the original 6.1 rom and you won't have any problem.
Mod edit: duplicate, redundant, closed
For the future pls stop opening threads twice, you already mentioned mess-ups and disorder and right away added to them.
Also q&a is not well liked, as the different answers you are certain to get will not necessarily help you at all. Nobody describes their usage behaviour while rating a rom same as you didn't offer yours when asking for ratings. So what is good for others might not be good for you.
There are many threads like "what is the best rom...", check those, there is one with "incomplete comparison between...", check that as well if you like. After that it's up to you. Try and error is definitely an essential part of the process.

People don't usually like these kind of threads. All developers put a lot of hard work into their roms so it's not very constructive to talk about which one is best. That said there's aren't a huge number of roms available to begin with so I would read through those rom threads and see what people are saying.

No. thats why i asked here, because for sure many people here tested some of them , so they can give their opinion about which one worked good for them and why.. So i can see what can work for me...
In mine opinion is a constructive thread , so for sure will stop many people going to Devs topics to do many question about the rom itself
Try them yourself and find out
What is good for one person is not always good for someone else, that's the point.

I'm going to swap my HTC One S for a Note 1... Do you guys think its a good swap? Which phone has a better processor and GPU? The main reason why I'm swapping my One S is because of the dying ROM support and I prefer huge screens. I'm a ROM Junkie and I change my ROM average once a week but my One S is starting to lose developers and not much ROMs left.
Do you guys think the Note 1 will get at least a ported Android L ROM when the official Android L releases?
Thanks so much ~
If you are a weekly flashing ROM Junkie you should know that every question here could be answered by yourself by simply reading in the forums. So start doing it.

Not really. There's no forum about Note Vs HTC One S concerning the processor and the GPU. I'm looking for personal experiences and opinions from people about the swap of my One S for a Note.
My One S had a very active forums like the Note's forums but it became inactive within a week and that can happen to Note's forums as well so this question also goes for the developers if they think they can still stick with the device and port android L when its available. There's not much questions like that here in the forums and some aren't even answered properly.
I checked the forums and I didn't get the answer I am looking for so I made my own thread.
I suggest that you shouldn't be answering if your comment doesn't help in anyway.
I've seen your comments in many other threads (I read a lot) and all I see are negative comments of you telling people to read the forums/threads.
Why not let people do what they want and just let the people with decent answers answer the question of the thread?

For this issue I think you need to change the network type I guess. Search in the discussion forum made for NitrogenOS 8.1 - someone posted the type of network there. I set it to LTE but I had that problem, had to change it to WCDMA or something NOT SURE.
As for the next question goes, I'm waiting for Dirty Unicorns to come out. The sources are stable already, they are taking a bit more time. DU always had been my most favorite custom ROM for every reason under the sun. But for OnePlus 3/3T/5/5T - I was never actually too keen to get a custom ROM. OOS is the best OEM ROM hands down !!
Addressing your calling issue, as mentioned above, that may be a settings issue where you can probably fix it.
But on to your other question in the title, there's no "Best ROM". Everyone will give you a different ROM based on their experience and how they've installed Add-ons to their ROM. All ROMs are created equal, and they all are different in some way. Don't ask what the Best ROM is, just do trial and error flashes of ROMs, and see what best suits you. Asking a question like this will only leave you more confused than you were before you posted this.
Agree with Devlamania OOS is way better than other custom rom, so go for OOS 4.1.5 nougat or any oreo variant.
Best 8.1 ROM is OmniRom or Dirty Unicorns v12 for stability, however I prefer Pixel Experience.

Asking for "favorite ROM" isn't any better or different then "best ROM". There are enough existing threads like this. The question is always asked by folks too lazy to read about the ROM features, and make their own decisions. Or just look at the existing "favorite/best ROM" threads.
Windows 8.1 ?
