Hi, with the help of kalijo, I have made an archive to install TWRP and root your X98 Plus II model C2D4.
Reported to also works on C2D6 and C2E3.
Use at your own risk.
You will need an USB mouse to navigate in TWRP.
Instructions are in the archive.
With v1.2, I've added instructions to save the original boot and recovery images, but this will only works with new install, not upgrade.
Download link

What have you done before ? more infos needed.
Version 1.1:
Updated SuperSU to v2.78
Did anyone have any success so for on C2E3 (2GB Android only model)?
Or, maybe to the DEVS - as this is for the dual boot version, is there any reason it would definitely not work on the Android only model? Willing to take some amount of risk, but dont want to brick my device...
It should work. Worst case, you have to reinstall Android, so make sure you have the files before trying.
To obtain the files, type your model number here (you can use Chrome for auto translation):
http://www.teclast.com/tools/pad/pad.php?t=p
That will lead you here:
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1nvpQOGx
(Use Jdownloader to download the file).
The dl speed is rather slow, I'm trying to download right now, will update the post with a mirror soon.
Update: here is a mega mirror:

Please report your findings, so I can update the first post.
Well bad news, I tried to flash according to the instructions but the whole thing stopped working/responding during the "fastboot boot loader.efi" stage. I tried restarting the process using dnx mode, however in the end I received "corrupt bzimage kernel" error and device would not boot. I then installed phone flash tool and tried restoring the default images, the process completed OK however when booting teclast logo stays on screen for around 10 minutes, then I get this error: "Bootloader error code 06. Multiple crash events have been reported."
I tried flashing both the "blank" and "recovery" profiles, flash completes OK but tablet is unsable
Any ideas how to solve this, or did I just brick it?

In my attempts to install xposed module, I destroyed my both boot and system.
Since you have the problems with bootloader, get android files for your tablet (C2D3) unpack and find the boot.img and system.img
First step flahs origin boot.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then try fastboot boot loader.efi
If your tablet is stuck in a bootloop, then also flash the original system
fastboot flash system system.img
Hope it helps
BTW, did somebody succeeded in installing xposed on our tablet?(C2D4)
I got a working factory image up and running, turns out the issue was some kind of driver/USB problem, I reinstalled everything from scratch on a fresh PC and the recovery flash worked flawlessly the first time I ran it. I will try root procedure again on the other machine later today or tomorrow.
Hooray, I got it working on my c2e3 model using the files and instructions in the original post.
However I have to say this was one of the scarier rooting procedures I went through, even using the cleanly installed PC to flash I had to do it multiple times and kept getting various flashing errors, bootloops, TWRP exiting immediately upon launch etc.. But of course this could just be some kind of HW issue with my tablet, would not suprise me at this price.
Thank you all for your support! Now if we could only get Nougat on this baby...
@maxmax0 thanks for the feedback. @veaceslav No wonder you had issues, Xposed for X86-64 don't exist ! which one have you tried ?
@mooms I tried the normal version, which gave me a bootloop and then I tried the magisk version. Actually the magisk version is flashed, but it doesn't show..
You don't get the point, normal or Magisk version, they are not designed for x86-64, only ARM, ARM64, and X86.

my experience is very good .ive rooted the phone and flashed also adblock gps is working good internet very fast lte for the price just amazing
After Update Bootloop
After the 7.0 Update, i have an issue. If my Umi Plus is connected to my WLAN AP (with other devices no such error), it is rebooting every 10 seconds. If i turn my Access Point off, it stops rebooting itself and if i turn it on again, it is restarting after 5 seconds over and over again. My mobile carrier internet works fine, without any such errors.
I dont want to use my mobile carrier with limit, but my home wlan.
Anyone has similiar issues? If anyone knows the solution please write it

So far so good. Android 7 has made a big improvement to my Super.
Does anyone know if root is possible with this beta and / or whether there's a version of TWRP that will work with it?
Thanks,
Steve

Root is possible using TWRP 3.0.2 for umi.
I've attached a zip file of the TWRP version below, unzip it and flash using SPT flashtool, you need to untick all the other boxes and just tick the recovery and direct it to where you unpacked the zip file.
I've also attached the Super su i used to root the beta 2 for the umi super. Flash it in TWRP.
Brilliant, thanks for that @Creedo4Life.
Can you remind my poof befuddled brain please - does flashing TWRP / recovery wipe the device? I should know this but can't remember.
Thanks again.

No worries. There's no need to wipe anything after you flashed Supersu in TWRP. One of the best things about Nougat 7 is that it use a different file system then Lollipop and Marshmallow, so you will never again sit and wait while the OS optimize apps (sometimes hundreds if you had a lot of apps installed!!) Just reboot after flash and you good to go. The first boot might bootloop once or twice, no need to do anything it will di everything on its own. Enjoy full root mate.

Quick question - I've only flashed recoveries using adb before, how do I point SPFlashTool at the recovery .img file?
Do I replace the recovery.img file inside the UMI ROM folder, with the TWRP .img file?
And then tick 'Recovery' inside SPFlashTool per your instructions?
Thanks,
Steve

That's correct, you browse the img file on the ticket recovery (the only one that should be ticked.) click on "download only" while your phone is switched off and then connect it through the usb. It will then flash TWRP and let you know when its done. Now disconnect your phone and hold in power button and volume up simultaneously. When you see the umi logo let go of the power button but keep holding volume up. When you see the TWRP logo you can let go. The first time you boot into TWRP you need to swipe the bar which will allow modifications, you will only have to do that once, the system will then remember it. Good luck and happy rooting.
Thanks.
Hmm, this is odd though. I managed to get TWRP flashed but whenever I flash that SuperSU and reboot, all my apps complain and keep quitting when I try to launch them. I've been careful to wipe cache after flashing, as usual.
In fact I've rried wiping everything cache, dalvik, - even started again from an entirely factory-wiped device, including data.
Flashed a fresh copy of the Nougat beta ROM, booted up fine. Flashed TWRP, booted up fine but then I reboot to recovery, flash SuperSU and bingo - on my next reboot all the apps starts complainin that they have stopped - even Launcher.
Weird...

That's very odd. I used the exact same supersu myself and never encountered that problem. That version is also compatible with Nougat. Try one of the other versions on https://www.chainfire.eu/
Maybe that solves your problem.

You have full root, you just don't know it.
If you want to edit anything in any system folders you need to change r, rw permissions. I use file explorer for this. Look at the attached SS to understand what I mean.

No, you need to flash beta 2 using SPFT, there is no zip file to use with TWRP for this.

Hello,
I have the problem that SPFT shows me 100% wehn I am flashing TWRP to the UMI Super but still hangs at 100% and does nothing more.
I'm using the Android N V7.01_20170123.
I also tried an Android scatter from Android 6 before I flashed Android 7, but it also doenst work.
My Asus memo pad 7 is stuck on fastboot.... 123# screen. I've tried temporary recovery and had success installation with lineage-14.1 but nothing changed. Please help. Thanks.
Did you have Lollipop installed before?
Also, do I understand it correctly that you're able to get into the temp recovery session?
Yes lollipop was installed and rooted long time ago, after the issue I decided to put it away. I did loads after that though, so I don't think lollipop is still there.
It was first at boot screen, got this fastboot... 123# after I flashed a fastboot image. Flashed loads of recoveries, systems and boot images before and after the fastboot issue.
Hope this helps you understand the state it's in. Thanks for replying.

If the tablet boots into the screen with the 3 fastboot lines you are in DNX mode, which means you've likely messed up your bootloader. To restore the bootloader, follow the steps outlined in https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73672837&postcount=5
If everything works, you should get to a second Fastboot screen with NORMAL BOOT etc. From there you can either start the temporary TWRP recovery session (see https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73673438&postcount=7) to flash the Lollipop package you've downloaded earlier (UL-K013-WW-12.10.1.36-user.zip) or flash LineageOS.
If you want to flash LineageOS you need to unlock your bootloader. Download https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=312978532265362065, take the ESP.img from the ZIP and download https://github.com/me176c-dev/devic...recovery-3.1.1-20171119-UNOFFICIAL-me176c.img. Then run:
Code:
fastboot flash ESP ESP.img
fastboot flash recovery twrp-recovery-3.1.1-20171119-UNOFFICIAL-me176c.img
Power off your device, then press Volume Down + Power. Intel logo should show up, and ask if you want to go into recovery or fastboot. Go into recovery using Volume Down. Do a Factory reset again (it's under Wipe), then flash https://github.com/me176c-dev/devic...ge-14.1-20171119-UNOFFICIAL-me176c-signed.zip (e.g. put it on your external SD).
I will try these steps and update you. Thank you very much.
O yes! It worked. Tablet is now back in operation on lineageos. Going and get Gapps now. Thanks a lot lambdadroid
I believe my work on this tablet is not complete as I can't install Gapps. Installation failing every time. So I tried to reinstall lineage as this was installed before when I was trying all sorts to fix it.
Then when I followed the procedures you sent me, it booted into lineage after I unlocked the bootloader and installed twrp. So the system still had lineage from my fastboot installation attempts. What I can install now is the original version (ul k013 ww-12.10.1.36-user) and that works but I don't want this.
Any help on getting lineage to complete the installation? as it gets to the end with a little to go hut just never finishes (left this overnight)
Thanks.

No need to reply twice.
Please clarify: What exactly is failing? The LineageOS ZIP or the OpenGApps ZIP? Do you get an error during installation or does it never finish the boot after installation?
Things you can try: Check TWRP log for errors (usually marked red if you click the bottom right button in TWRP). Try a factory reset in TWRP.

Just thought you wouldn't be notified if I don't quote.
The gapps file is giving an error and failing, the lineageOS just stalls and never complete the installation.
I will try again now.....
patching system image unconditionally....
This is going on and on, about 10% left to complete but it never does. LineageOS installation.
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error installing zip file '/external_sd/0-System zips/
Asus Memo pad 7 K013/gapps 7.1.zip'
And that's what I'm getting from the gapps installation.
Installation failed.
Got the Gapps to install, had to choose x86 version. Still no improvement from lineage.

Maybe the file wasn't downloaded/copied properly. Enable ZIP file signature verification in the TWRP settings and flash the LineageOS package again. Does it print "Zip signature verified successfully"?

Hello everyone.
I had this issue recently that I figured out how to fix.
When I tried flashing a custom Android Q Rom in TWRP recently, it would either go reboot to Twrp or get stuck on the bootloader unlocked screen for a few seconds and then give me a qualcomm crash error. I found out the problem (at least with me) is that I upgraded my OOS to stable 10, tried it for a bit, and decided to use the downgrade pie zip that OnePlus provided, and I didn't know I was getting those errors because of that.
To hopefully fix it for you guys too, first, you wanna put your device into fastboot mode and download the zip from here https:// androidfilehost .com/?fid=11410932744536996577 then unzip the archive and inside the unzipped folder, unzip the other 2 archives and run the .bat file named flash-all-partitions-fastboot and let it run and finish, and after that your custom ROMs should boot. If you're still rebooting to TWRP for some reason after that, flash Twrp 3.3.1-20 by mauronofrio and that issue should be fixed.
Hopefully this quick guide will help some of you out.
Edit: Forgot to tell you guys in that link that I gave I put a couple of spaces so I could post you guys the link, because they won't let you post links with new accounts, so just delete the spaces
Hi guys, i wanted to change my rom, from pixel launchher from october to newest one, as always i downloaded it, and newest twrp for mi a2, I turned phone in fast boot mode, flashed img of twrp using adb, then I copied .zip of newest pixel launcher to phone and wiped system data and cache, then wanted to flash my .zip and I did...but during the 'flashing' it stuck on step 1/2 for about 5 minutes, then changed to step 2/2 for a minute and finally told me thats its done. but its not, when i wanted to reboot it told me that 'no os installed' wth? help me please
tried to repeat all steps, change twrp image to older one, tried to change rom to another (but every one rom i tried was android 10 - no going back to 9 i know), nothing worked.
Im in a big need of this phone getting to work
BIG BEER for someone who will help me
After you flashed the ROM zip in TWRP go to Reboot and from there change slot (if you're on A select B and if you're on B select A). After that, reboot to system, the warning about not having an OS installed is normal, don't worry.
