Please Help.. I have tried everything to root my phone. - SuperSU

I am the verizon s7 edge sm-g935v . I have download all the tools needed, superuser, odin and the root file.. This is where the problem happens i try to use odin to install the root file only its a zip file and odin only works with tar. Everyone keeps teeling to just use the custom recovery like twrp but that is not on the phone, correct me if i am wrong the phone needs to be rooted before you can have custom recoveries on them? Please someone provide me with a link of step by step instructions to root my phone. PS using one of the methods i have some how erased the factory reset ability from the phone. Right now there is no recovery. The phone is still working I just can't reset it at all. Goes into a boot lock screen if I do.

[Q] Nothing seems to work to root the phone, what to do?

I have followed the rooting directions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
and the "if nothing else works heres how to root" thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18981227&postcount=4
However, I cannot seem to get the phone rooted. Everything appears to go fine in terms of using Odin to downgrade from 2.3.6 (which I understand cant be rooted, which is why you have to downgrade first), but when the phone restarts it just turns the white back light on and the phone is unresponsive - it doesnt actually boot. I can put it into download mode and put it back to its original ROM (N7000XXLA4), but thats it.
Basically, I am stuck trying to downgrade to root - anyone know what to do?
Try re downloading rom.. Sometimes downloaded files may corrupted somehow..

Re-download a rootable rom form the above thread. Flash it via pc odin. And boot it. If it is struck at boot try clearing the caches in the Samsung recovery and reboot. Then download the corresponding cf kernel file and run root me now.bat after verifying that the zImage file is int he folder.
Try and let know your results!!
Cheers!
Hit thanks if it helped!

Need URGENT help

My friend tried to root my device and messed up and my phone boots stuck on samsung logo then turns off can anyone be knid and guide me how to fix this problem thank you:crying:
Can you access recovery mode?
yes
Flash a stock firmware through Odin.
Look up the available firmwares for your region at sammobile.com
Find out how tlyour friend tried to root the phone
If you can access recovery, maybe try flashing the unroot zip.
Or... use odin, you'll get a working phone and all data will be wiped.

Galaxy S6 - Soft brick using auto-root

I downloaded CF-autoroot and followed these steps and now it is stuck on bootloop. I downloaded Odin 3.10.6 and right cf-auroroot version as well.
http://galaxys6root.highonandroid.com/galaxy-s6-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s6-or-s6-edge/
"When done, you should see “RESET!” on ODIN program and your S6/S6 Edge will reboot to show something like below. This is where CF-Auto Root roots your S6/S6 Edge."
It never boots into recovery and it's immposible to manually boot to it as well. It just auto-reboot and stuck on "samsung powered by android."

Try this....run cf auto root again with Odin...make sure NOTHING is checked under "options" (the tab above the log)...after it finishes (only said RESET! for me too)...once it is done, hold VOLUME DOWN AND POWER until the screen goes black....it should (did for me) boot into stock recovery and finish the root process... Once it is done, reboot system.....you should be rooted now.

Stuck on Stock Recovery help!

I have an problem,my note III wont boot,it goes straight to the stock recovery. This happened after I reinstalled safetrap, but I didn't uninstall first before installing new one,so I'm guessing thats what I did wrong?after I installed,I pressed on reboot to recovery and now i'm stuck.I restarted the phone a thousand times but it keeps going straight to recovery after the note III logo screen. The Rom it was running is Alliance 9.1 Lollipop. What should I do?Please help, and sorry for my english.
Power off your device then hold the power button, volume down button and your home button all at the same time until you enter download mode. Once in download hit volume up one time the using your USB Cable
You can use Odin to downgrade to NC2 and root it. Odin v.3.10.6 http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3109599&d=1420980613 and N900AUCUCNC2 ODIN Files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54803130&postcount=136 Once you Odin back you can use Towel root or Kingo root (links are posted above your post). Then install Supersu https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu&hl=en and run it, install Busybox https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox&hl=en open and install it, then Safestrap http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=7216. (You should make a backup once Safestrap is installed before you flash any Roms). Once you're done you can pick a Rom for your Note 3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/development Now you ever use Odin? http://www.samsungodindownload.com/odin-tutorial/ (The site only shows flashing the All-In-One file so you know). Use all 4 Odin files, not the All-In-One when coming from Lollipop.

I am running Alliance 9.1 rom and I was searching for my Safestrap recovery. I didn't find it and so I tried busybox "reboot into recovery" script. Doing that made my phone go crazy "go to att and let the service tech" look at it. I can't boot into recovery as it gives me this error and I have to use ODIN to flash the BL file. Now I can't get into my phone because of a Pin. I think that the script from busy box is still running and if I can get passed my pin, I want to see if I can disable the script. My main issue is, can I use the aforementioned process to just start over? I was told I cannot use ODIN to flash to stock rom. I have already found out that I have tripped my knox counter. PLEASE HELP. THIS IS MY ONLY PHONE AND MY WIFE IS GOING TO KILL ME.
Thank you for your help.

[GUIDE][G870A] Downgrade S5 Active MM6.0->LP5.0

DISCLAIMERI am not responsible for any damage done to your device. The following guide is to be used at your discretion, you are taking the risk of rendering your phone unusable. It is also advised to Factory Reset while following this guide, so backup, backup, backup! Only attempt if you are confident in doing so!
Marshmallow to LollipopA recent development has allowed us to root the G900A/G870A on 5.1.1., which you can find here. There is a guide for G900A users to downgrade from 6.0 to 5.0, but I wanted to provide a guide for Active users to do the same. Once you have downgraded to 5.0, you can root using this new method, or update to 5.1.1 and root. I was regretting my upgrade to MM, it wasn't worth the cost of root and custom roms, so this was exactly what I needed to love this phone again. Now, on to the guide.
Step 1
Download the necessary files using the following links:
G870A OF3 ODIN TARBALL
ODIN 3.11
Step 2
I will make the assumption you have the Samsung USB Drivers installed and can see your phone in File Explorer. Extract both of the downloaded files wherever you'd like, you'll have an Odin folder, and four files from the tarball: BL, AP, CP, and CSC files. Put them in their own folder, just to avoid any mistakes with flashing. Run Odin as Admin and you'll see 4 slots, which you'll fill with the 4 tar.md5 files you just extracted. You'll load the tar files into their appropriate slots, IE AP_* into the AP slot, and you will encounter delays as Odin reads and verifies the files.
Step 3
As a precaution, it's recommended to have your phone charged to at least 75%. Now to restart the phone into Download Mode, you do so by powering off the phone, then power on the phone holding the Volume Down + Home keys. Once in download mode, hook the phone up to your USB cable attached to your PC. (Most failed ODIN flashes are due to USB cables, you may need to try a few)
Step 4
Go back to Odin and you should see your phone show up in COM box. Once you've verified that the phone is showing up, verify that you have all of the tar files loaded into the appropriate slots, and push Start. You'll see the progress as each file is flashed, look for any error messages. Once everything is flashed, your phone should reboot and you'll see a green pass. At this point, I recommend doing a battery pull or hold down Volume Down + Home + Power keys until the phone reboots. Once it shuts off, immediately hold down Volume Up + Home to boot into recovery. Now just do a quick factory reset, wipe the cache, and reboot. You should now be back to OF3, you can verify this in recovery, or by going to About Device under Settings, under baseband it should read G870AUCU2BOF3.
Step 5
At this point, you can use the previously mentioned guide to obtain root. If interested, once you have root you can head over to the Unofficial List of Roms and use FlashFire to flash a shiny new rom.
I'd just like to thank @AptLogic for his contributions, as well as @719c6 for finding the OF3 tarballs.
Thanks a lot! Just wanted to report I downgraded successfully and will try to work on rooting next. Thanks!
Hello,

The lowest you can downgrade to is OF3, which you can do by following the guide. The OF3 firmware uses the same bootloader as MM, so we were able to downgrade, NE4 uses an older bootloader, and we are not able to downgrade bootloaders.
Sorry.

It was linked in the OP, but it's in this thread. Apparently, they're having an issue getting it to root now, so if you get it to root, report feedback on the thread and make sure to keep it. I was lucky enough to downgrade, root, and flash my favorite rom, Xtrestolite. Finally have my phone running nice and smooth again, I won't be jeopardizing my root on this phone anymore.
Good luck!

Are you using Supersume?
That app (it is paid) automatically uninstalls kingroot and replaces it with supersu, and as far as I know, you have to use it for everything to work properly.
Good luck!

Yea, refer to the linked root thread in OP, there was some modification to kingroot that broke the exploit. I haven't been there in a few days, not sure if they found a workaround yet.
It's unfortunate, but another method or workaround could pop up anytime.

I need more then that to go on. Off the top of my head, I'd recommend a different USB cable and also a verification that the PIT files were downloaded properly, as in, they aren't somehow corrupted.

Please, i want to know, does root work on this? I need root for my device. Thank
Just want to check, but for obtaining root I would follow Steps 1-6 in the OP linked guide and then do I follow through with Step 7 (flash 900a PreRooted OF3 ROM -- as described in the link) or do I jump straight to a new custom ROM?
If it helps, I'm trying to flash this ROM (XtreStoLite) to my 870a, which should work based on this post

Im already on OF3, but when I try to install the "combination" file from the guide you mention, ODIN doesnt install anything, tried different PC , usb ports, and usb cables aswell. is this the only way to get root? I mean it would be easier if we had a TWRP working for our device.
That's not for the active. It's for the 900A
