Just moved from Samsung and I miss the stock email app where I could set up exchange email and have reminders on my phone calendar.
Any solution for Oneplus? I tried bluemail but cannot schedule email sync (I prefer to receive emails on phone after office hours). Have tried nine but still it does not add calendar events to my google calendar.
Pls help.
I use Gmail which works for exchange adequately.

I came in to suggest Nine. I have it up and running on my phone and it syncs with the Google Calendar application without issue. Did you give it permission to access your calendar when you first added your Exchange account? If you go to Nine -> Settings -> (Your account) -> Calendar do you have "Calendar sync" checked? You should then be able to go to your Google Calendar app and see a new "account" in the sidebar that will have any of your Exchange calendars that you can select and remove.
I've used Gmail in the past and am on my trial of nine. Both work well.

Shouldn't have to. The Default Calendar App setting just determines which calendar app opens when you tap the calendar icon within Nine.
I will suggest outlook. I have all emails inside it. Calendar is good as well.

Hey guys, has anyone figured out how to set the default calender on the captivate when adding a calender event it always defaults to "my calendar" which is in the phone. Every time I add an event to my calender I would like it to go to my gmail calender instead of always having to change it.
I'm surprised nobody has run into this yet. Does anyone use their calendar???
yeah I have the same problem.
Couldn't find a setting to change it. I will play with it a little more right now.
yep no luck.
Even went into settings while in calendar and unchecked the "my calendar" one - it still comes up as default.
No setting for it.
I haven't tried this yet, but if you add an event to "my calendar" does it still sync with the Gmail account? I assume no...

Anything on this issue yet? Isn't the point of a google phone to be able to integrate into google applications like calendar? This is a horrible feature on this phone which for me is a pain as i enter a lot of calendar entries daily. It worked just fine on my htc hero (as did the gps and contact groups...).

Did you go to Settings / Accounts and sync / your Gmail account, then check Sync Calander?

Yes. My gmail account syncs just fine. The problem is when you add an appointment to the calendar on the phone, it defaults to "my calendar" (which will not sync with google). I would like for it to default to my google calendar when adding an entry on the phone.

Try an alternative calendar app like Gemini Calendar or Jorte Calendar. They are both free and let you use your Google Calendar by default.
I chatted online with a Samsung person to find out if there was a way to make the Google calendar the default in the calendar app that comes with the phone. She claimed that she was able to sync an event from her phone calendar with her Google calendar, but the steps she told me to use did not work for me. I think she didn't understand what I was asking.

Im currently using Jorte and it is working fine. I hope samsung gets a fix for this as i do like the layout of the stock samsung calendar.

Really?
Create an event, change the calendar where it is saved to your gmail account, click ok, SAVE EVENT. If you don't want the event, delete it.
Next time you create an event it will default to your gmail account.
I have no issue with the calendar.
Open the calendar app, press the menu button, select more, select setting, select calendars, un-check 'My Calendar' done.

This is not working for me. Is there an actual setting somewhere you can set to force the phone to do what it's supposed to do?
Why on Earth does S Planner default to My Calendar instead of my Google Calendar? It's an unnecessary annoyance to always change calendar's.
Hey, I'm with you on this.
Regards.
Yes, I agree and it has been pointed out in two other threads. Hopefully either Samsung or a developer will rectify this at some point. Calengoo is a good alternative calendar that allows you to sync to google
Is there any way to Sync my gmail Tasks wiht s planner tasks?
I just go into the options and tell it NOT to show the internal calendars. Only my Google Calendars.
Same issue here, hiding them is good but not when the default is set to samsung when you add new event and then you cant see the events.
Guess have to move away from S planner.

Go to Settings>Accounts & Sync> Click individual accounts and switch off calendar sync for calendars you don't want to sync.
Go to S-Planner>Settings>Calendars> Deselect the calendars you do not want to display
I have 2 Gmail accounts (Personal) and 1 Exchange account (Corporate) configured. But I sync only the Exchange calendar and it works good. It saves to the Exchange calendar by default.
Geoux, thanks. However I couldn't disable My Calendar in system settings. I did disable calendar sync of the Samsung account and that seemed to help. When I now go to calendar settings I still see My calendar and I can't unmark it. But that's no issue because when I make a new appointment it will have Gmail account as default

Hi guys. I have an NTG and use aCalendar but I'm not fully satisfied. For example I can't create new events.
Just curious what everyone around here recommends. It would need to sync to gmail calendar.
Thanks!
Cedric

I installed Calendar Pad of MoaiApps (sorry, XDA doesn't let me post a direct link). Haven't used it much, but so far it seems to work fine
I use touch calendar and it fully syncs with Google calendar.

It's a shame Calendar Pad doesn't show the location in the week view, aCalendar is much more attractive, if only it allowed adding entries!

I've just noticed, you can use the great looking aCalendar to add appointments.
Just go to it's settings and near the bottom you have settings for New Event. Tick the box for 'External editor' then when you add an appointment tick to always use the default Android calendar app. Then it seems to work perfectly.
The problem I have is that I can't set a secondary gmail account to auto sync the calendar, just the primary one. Anybody else managed to get a second account syncing?
This old version of Android doesn't allow calendar syncing with more than one gmail account.
The solution is simple though - simply add the second calendar to your primary gmail account's calendar, then it will be selectable and synced on the Nook.
I had the same problem. I needed more simplistic approach to the whole calendar. I was surprised to see that ColorNote has a calendar too. It perfect for simple note taking and events it has some synchronization features as well.
Hi all,
I suspect that there are all manner of threads on this very topic given the difficulties that each company (Google and Microsoft) seem to have imposed with regards to syncing between the two, however, I find I get a more directed response if you ask in the specific phone type, so here it goes:
I have a hotmail account. I have had for years and it's my main email account and that which I use for work. Outlook has also a feature that picks up potential scheduled events from your emails and drops them into your calendar for you which I find useful. I also have a gmail account because, well you know, I love Android phones. However, having purchased a Oneplus 3t and coming over from an Xperia Z5 I am having some unexpected difficulty in syncing all my events and calendar schedules into one calendar view. I am using the Google calendar widget and would like a way of syncing my outlook events into this calendar. Is there any way of doing this?
I used aCalendar+ with the Z5 BUT there was the option to add Exchange accounts via the stock email app on that phone which I assume was the catalyst for allowing me to sync everything together in aCalendar+. This isn't an option on the OP3t.
Therefore is there a work around or an app that can do it for me? I am happy to use a decent third party calendar app providing it allows for a decent widget view option but would prefer to use google calendar view instead if possible.
PLEASE HELP. I thought this would be such an easy thing to achieve.
Had the same problem. Tried a few apps and by far the best one was Nine.

Go and get yourself a biscuit and a medal. Thank you so much. Pissing me off that was.
Doesn't Google Calendar allow you to achieve this?

I agree that Nine is by far the best all-in-one email, calendar and contacts app, but it doe not support free Gmail accounts, only paid Google apps for Business accounts.

But what it does do is allow you to add a 'proper' Exchange account to your device which means the Google calendar app can be kept up to date. I then use the Gmail app for my three email accounts thus getting exactly what I need from the app itself. It's almost an app simply for syncing accounts more than anything else.
I have no issues with exchange showing up in Google calendar. Perhaps the truck is to add your exchange account in your Gmail app. You could still use another mail app to use exchange if you prefer (turn off all Gmail notifications for your exchange). I have gotten accustomed to using Gmail app for all my email accounts. I am on office 365. I know some older exchange servers don't get along with Google, my wife is on a 2003 exchange (for some reason beyond me). Nine is the only email app that works for her. Gmail will start out working but eventually stops syncing.
So. I have a problem that's developed over the last couple days.
I have all my contacts in Outlook.com. I added my account through the Outlook app and can see all my contacts through the app.
I have set the Contacts app to display contacts ONLY from the Outlook account but when returning to the app, it displays none.
I've checked by also asking the Contacts app to display ONLY contacts from WhatsApp. Although I don't have any stored, I thought it might show contacts from the app anyway. But none.
Tried the same with Messenger, but no Facebook contacts display.
Tried deleting Outlook app and reinstalling but no change. It worked until the last OTA update a few days ago.
Any ideas?
Turns out in order to sync properly, you have to turn it on in the Outlook app.
Open Outlook app
Click on Settings (the cog)
Click on the name of the account
Click the "sync contacts" toggle
