[Q] Change recovery to TWRP

Hello there... i'm new on this device (SGS i9000). i updated my firmware to CM 10.1. I understand that when i update to JB, the rom updates my recovery to CWM 6. i am trying to change it to TWRP without success. My methods are 2:
1) i download a flasheable zip with the TWRP recovery. I flash it through CWM but when i reboot into recovery again, there is CWM, no TWRP.
pd: CWM didn't indicate me any error during the flash of the zip. it says that it were successful.
2) i flash the recovery image through flash_image using the terminal. it says that it was successfully wrote in the recovery partition.
i guess there's an script that reflash CWM recovery in every boot but i am not sure. If i'm correct (or not) what do i have to do to to flash TWRP permanently?

Both Mackay and Latrop kernel have TWRP, and Devil Kernel has TWRP as an option.

[Q] Does cyanogenmod kernel come with custom recovery?

I was wondering whether the cyanogenmod kernel comes with a custom recovery because every tutorial says after flashing boot.img in fastboot mode, reboot into custom recovery and flash the ROM. So, I can only assume the kernel installs a custom recovery. Is this right?

Urgent- Need to restore CWM recovery from current CM recovery

My official CM 12.1 on Mi3 Cancro had enabled cynogen recovery. but it is pathetic recovery so can you pls tell me how to restore latest CWM recovery or TWRP recovery urgently pls.

Xperia Z1 CWM recovery flashable ?

Does anyone have a cwm recovery in a zip format wich i can flash ? I have it but only as a boot.img. Other option will be Twrp recovery but i dont like it!

Need to flash TWRP which will remain after reboot...

Hi All,
I am on MIUI 11.0.1 rom and have unlocked bootloader and have got Root as well. I had flashed twrp-3.3.1-2-raphael-mauronofrio recovery initially but I found that it doesn't persist after reboot and stock recovery appears. How can I make it permanent recovery option and when OTA update comes, will it wipe the TWRP recovery as well?
Also, now I have stock recovery with root and if I flash the TWRP again, do I need to format data again? I have installed all the apps and copied data in phone and dont want to lose again..

You shoulf flash magisk after recovery

Thanks for the reply.. I did flash magisk after flashing TWRP to root the phone.. But now my recovery is Stock..
