Hi when I try to install any lollipop based rom its install ok, but when rebooting it gets stuck on the sony logo and then it loops. I've managed to install the pre rooted lolipop, but want to install the resurrection rom, does anyone know hot to solve this ? Also if I try to install a kitkat rom it works ok.
for stock rom, you need flash lollipop kernel to boot it up if you came from kk.
your bootloader is unlocked? jush flash a kernel have build in recovery to flash RR.

DO you have a link ?
Before installing the .zip in the recovery make sure you do a Factory reset, then wipe Cache, then wipe system, cache, data and then Dalvik/ART cache. Then install ROM .zip and then gapps.zip and then reboot.
i was using AICP on my S3 LTE
received OTA update message so I downloaded and tried to flash for a newer version as usual today.
however, after flashing the newest AICP Rom, I cannot enter into my system.
I wiped all data, even system data and flash it again, but same.
i am stucked in the animation logo.
i tried the following, all failed
1. flash newest version of TWRP by Odin, and flash AICP in TWRP
2. flash newest version of TWRP by odin, and flash CM 12.1 in TWRP
3. flash newest version of CWM by odin, and flash AICP in CWM
4, flash newest version of CWM by odin, and flash CM 12.1 in CWM
all of the above, i used factory reset after flashing, however, still stuck in the animation logo.
but then, i flash original SamSung S3 9305 firmware using Odin, I successfully enter the system again~
so i would like to know, in my case, what should i do if i would like to use custom rom?
thanks!

i failed to enter the system from any Custom Roms.....
With AICP you must flash a extra kernel. It's in preview post of AICP

Hi. I want to install latest nougat version of Miui . I use customs since i got phone, it was on marshmallow. I haven't installed nougat, and now i don't know how to install it properly, without bricking device. I already bricked it, so im a little scared of installing miui. I have now ressurection rom with 7.2.9 firmware. Can i just install new miui rom? Or should i install marshmallow first, then nougat? Thanks for help.
Hi..
What twrp version you're using it currently..?, is it official or zcx..?, if official...i suggest you to switch to zcx twrp version for installing miui recovery rom. you can find and download it from here or original thread from here, after that you can flashing miui rom that based nougat version with standard procedure of installing rom as usually, wipe cache & dalvik, data and system then go install rom.zip. But just advice..just try using xiaomi.eu rom instead of official one..coz this rom already optimized for global used.
never wipe system!!!!!!!!
I have lineage OS 14.1 with f2fs.
What i need to do to install xiaomi.eu ROM ?

i think just wipe cache, data, and system on twrp and make sure use ext4 for system, cache and data.
then just instal miui eu rom .
if error try reboot your phone to twrp again an flash miui eu rom.
I always do that from mokee or aicp or RR, and my phone just fine .
is that possible flashing stock rom with twrp? i tried few times and it failed

I've always updated miui via twrp and never had any trouble, only thing is i had to reflash twrp img and flash root zip.i download the update via official miui update app and then it reboot to twrp and install without issue
So, I tried everything, flashed the ROM based on OREO like 9.6.1.0 ended in bootlooping the device, also custom rom based on OREO doesnt work too, like pixel experience, LINEAGE, ETC
Other than OREO based, ROM based on NOUGAT works well, like MIUI 8.xxx or RR based on NOUGAT
Any idea why this happens?

Your custom recovery needs to be an Oreo version compatible, so you can install oreo based roms on it.
Try to update to early version.
Regards.

this is quite weird ... since if you install any nougat ... you'll sure receive OTA update to oreo (dev or stable) ...
why dont you take that OTA?

yes, installing the OTA based on OREO update also cause bootloop happens
basically, anything OREO based, whether it's ota or flashing it manually through TWRP, ZCX TWRP, or Mi Flash cause bootloop
Have you wipe your internal partition?
I think we need to wipe all partition after installing firmware when come from nougat to Oreo, because Oreo have new vendor partition.
At least you should use twrp-3.2.1-1-gemini

Try reflashing latest twrp via fastboot (not from within twrp).
After wiping all partitions (also mount and wipe vendor) and formatting data, reboot to recovery before flashing the ROM to access the data partition correctly again.
Then also try to boot (would go with a custom ROM) without any gapps, mods or root first, to further center the problem.
What happens now?
Have the same problem
Try to install latest build via fastboot --> failed
Try to install miui nougat based work, ota update to oreo based -->bootloop
Also try to flash all included internal storage but the problem still occured
Any miui nougat based and aex mod 5.1 work fine in my phone
Install lazy flasher before installing anything like SuperSU...

Puh, don't know.
Do you have an old backup of your efs partition lying around?
If so, try restoring that.
If that also doesn't help, I'm through with my math here, I think...
Flash a Lineage OS 14.1 build without GApps but with a firmware that supports Oreo. Then, go to developer settings, turn on ADB and run adb devices on your computer so that the RSA Fingerprint pops up. There, make sure you tap on remember this computer and click ok.
Now, do an update to Lineage 15.1 without wiping anything. As soon as you reboot your phone, connect it to your PC and try to get a logcat. Paste the logcat here and we'll be able to see what's actually going on.
Hi everyone,
I'm using Redmi 4X (China Version) currently with the latest 8.11.15 Global Beta ROM. I would like to flash TWRP again and go back to Xiaomi.EU ROM. I'm a bit confused because: If I want to flash LineageOS for Redmi 4X (santoni), in the instructions it says "wipe system" but in Xiaomi.EU they say "don't wipe system". So if I want LOS for now, and then Xiaomi.EU, who is wrong and who is right? Or will I have any issues if I wipe system?
Yours sincerely,
CyNote / peryson

In Xiaomi.EU site they are saying when you flash their rom, do not wipe system or persist! (I'm confused)
Because I wanted to try LineageOS, and in LOS site they say to wipe system.
You must need to clean flash (including wiping system) when switching between different ROM but you don't need to wipe system if you are flashing same ROM or it's update.
E.g. as now you are using MIUI 8.11.15, so whenever next update releases you can flash update without wiping system.
So if you want to flash Lineage OS and your device has currently installed ROM is MIUI then you'll have to clean flash including wiping system.
This same applies to all other ROMs. If currunt ROM and the ROM you want to flash are different then you'll have to wipe system too.
If you've already installed xiaami.eu ROM installed already then you don't need to wipe system, you can directly flash update/on top of it.
Xiaomi.eu and MIUI are two different ROMs.
MIUI is official ROM from Xiaomi and Xiaomi.eu is modified ROM from official MIUI ROM hence they are different and requires clean flash if you switch in between.
You'll have clean flash including wiping system in order to flash Lineage OS on your device.
Do take full backup of your data before flashing.
Hope it clears your doubt.
