I don't think wireless charging will be any faster no matter what 5v USB adaptor you use as the wireless pad will only put out a set current, but I used the adaptive fast charger that came with the phone and to give you a rough idea of it's speed it topped my Edge up from 24% to 97% in about 2 hours. Quick enough for me and way faster than my old Nexus 4 on wireless charging.
While we are on this subject, would it be harmful for the phone to be wirelessly charging and plugged charging simultaneously? Would it do nothing, charge even faster, or overheat and damage the phone? I dont plan on trying it, just curious.

I would imagine that once something is plugged into the USB port (charger, OTG or whatever) wireless charging would be disabled as a safety precaution. This has been the case on other devices and I assume the same would apply in this instance.
The new wireless charger from Samsung supports AFC (adaptive fast charging) and it works with the cable and power brick that came with it. Been confirmed online a few times and I can also confirm because it charged my phone from about 5% to 100% in under 2.5 hours. That being said it's still not as fast as just plugging into the wall.

Just so everyone knows how it works you can use either the charger that comes with the phone or in the box with the wireless charger. As far as it charging faster the way it works is 50% in 30 mins when connected physically to the wall. On the wireless charging pad it goes up 20% in 30 mins. Now the good thing about it is when the devices charging port goes out you can still charge your phone and it's faster then the old pad they used to use.

This makes little sense. If it supports fast charging, it supports fast charging. If it's "not as fast as just plugging into the wall," then it doesn't support fast charging.
Fast charging will get you from 5% to full in around an hour, not 2.5; which correlates with where wireless tech is right now. Because regardless of whether or not it can support the power input from a fast charging adapter, wireless chargers currently cannot utilize "fast charge" tech. The fastest wireless Qi chargers currently are 5V/1A chargers. That's as good as it gets right now and they're nowhere near fast charge spec.
So regardless of what you may have seen "confirmed" online, the Samsung charger isn't a fast charge device.
I am using a wireless charging and I would comment like "so far so good"
I think you should also try this. !!!

The charging pad for me is a convenience factor. The fact that the fast charging gets ours phones up to 100% in 1-2hours depending on who you listen too is already fantastic. I like the idea of just walking in my door at home and placing it on the pad. Who cares if it takes a little longer that plugged in fast charging. Enjoy the ability of just placing the phone on the pad when you get home and have things to get done right away. Can't believe so much negativity for a phone just released with no development yet such as custom ROMs and kernels to make a beast of a phone, a KILLER beast. Sorry, just too much negativity for me. I have owned every Samsung Galaxy all the way up to this Edge 128GB. Yeah, you can't remove the battery. Yeah, no SD card slot. But the Internal memory is so damn fast, I am no longer in that complaint department camp. As for people moaning that their rear glass magically broke all by itself...I have a hard time believing that. I bought a Spigen NeoHybrid case that covers the back with a nice rubberized well fitting cover. The edges of the case ar metal, so you still have that wonderful tactile feeling of a solid metal phone. Best Samsung phone to date, IMHO and once ROMs and custom recoveries come along, it can only get sweeter. In the meantime, I will get off my soapbox and enjoy a phone that far exceeds my S5 and happily wait for developers to do their magic. Patience is a virtue. Sorry for my rant if it offends those that expect perfection out of the box. Yes, it's a damn expensive phone. So are IPhones. And they had issues right out of the box and their OTA fixes caused worse problems. I rest my case.
EDIT: The help so far from users here in general have been fantastic and my hat off to thos that helped me deal with softbricking my phone from either initially using a root file that didn't work for our 925 models, to showing the way to use Kies to actually restore the full stock image, and to ZiDroid to actually give us the ability to at least have a working stock recovery screen instead of the dreaded black only screen after rooting. And I enjoy using apps that require rooting so as far as warranty issues goes, I don't really care. If I can Odin, Kies, smartswitch or whatever new stuff comes along, then I'm a happy camper. Other here just need to do a little reading and search before posting rants that have fixes already out there posted. Off soapbox again
S6 wireless chargin box doesn't include cable and plug in it. I will buy a new data cable and plug for it. Should I buy adaptive fast charging cable and plug which comes with S6 or can I use S5/Note 3 charger for it? I am asking cos S6's adaptive fast charging cable and plug is more expensive than S5 charger

In Turkey, they give it free with S6 edge as a promotion without cable and plug. What kind of cable and plug does it have? Same as S6 fast charger or classic S5/Note 3 charger?

That's probably why you just got the pad since it was a promotion. I bought both of mine through samsung mobile website and they came with white ones but not adaptive fast charging. The pad cannot charge fast with it anyways.

Thanks sir. I have just ordered classic 2A charger and will plug it in wireless pad.
Got the new Samsung fast charge wireless charging puck in today, here's a couple of pictures of what's in the box.
Black puck comes with a white Adaptive Fast Charger and white USB cable (what happen to matching cables & charger?) :silly:
Wonder if you just use the Adaptive Fast Charger with the original puck would get the same results?
Will try it out later tonight and see what it does.
I believe that I hear a fan running inside of the puck. :silly:
So does it charge fast?

Yes, a lot faster then the standard wireless charging pad. Not blazing fast but fast.
So what would the numbers be? 90 mins with the wire, 120 mins with the fast wireless charger, how fast with the old regular rectangular samsung wireless charger? And are these numbers with the phone turned on or off?

2 hours with fast wireless charger with phone on, but if the environment temperature is higher than normal, it could be a little bit slower.
And yes there is a fan running inside, if you listen carefully at night, you can hear some noise.

I heard there are slightly different model numbers from Samsung that look a like and you must buy the EP-PN920TBEGUS model to ensure it is the right one for the Note 5 (black; not sure what the SKU is for the white one for the Note 5). They look interchangeable but some of the boxes they come in say S6 and some say Note 5, and I have read that people that have a Note 5 that end up with the one that says S6 on the outside it works poorly... Where did you get yours?

It wasn't the charger it was the phone. AT&T and international devices got a s/w update that fixed it. Maybe other's can talk about their carrier's pushing an update that corrected it.

The fast puck is air cooled and the standard puck isn't. That's got to be better for both the puck and phone in terms of managing heat. The standard puck has a 5V/2A wall charger while the fast puck comes with a 9V/1.67A wall charger which will fast charge the phone on USB. I'm not defending Samsung's pricing but you are getting better features for the increased price.
I am on Verizon and since I got the phone, there hasn't been any OTA updates. Now I don't know if I should buy the new fast charging unit to try since it might have the same behavior of shutting off and blinking blue.

By cooled you mean fan cooled?
Great, something else to make noise!
I have an Echo string trimmer (58V) and that charger has a fan that's quite loud. Of course at capacity (>100 Wh) it's going to need active cooling.
And yes, it's high, there will be aftermarket ones on AMZN for under $40.
I have the stadium three coil that works perfectly now. The phone gets fairly warm with that one as it is. TBH I prefer the slower charge since that's how the battery is charged most of the time. If I need a quick pick up on a dead phone it's getting plugged in and charging by wire at 3A. This should maximize battery life in the long run which may matter for those that keep their phones for a while.
Im on verizon and no problems on the non fast charger. Been using it for a good week.

If you are talking about Note 5, actually it never caused over heating problem when i tested Samsung or aftermarket fast wireless charger, it's been the best wireless charging phone ever, with fast charging, the phone only gets little bit warm. The s6 edge+ is the phone you need to be worried about, it caused much heat when charging with fast wireless charger, it slows down the charging speed, i guess the fan inside Samsung wireless charger is specially prepared for s6 edge+. So for s6 edge+ user, Samsung's fast wireless charger acts better than aftermarket fast wireless charger without fan.
Here is what the manual says about the fan

I picked up this Spigen charger as the tylt is much more expensive. $16 on amazon new with a gift card. I use the stock google clock as my alarm clock. Charger works great but after charging to 100% it doesn't seem to restart so using night mode or dock clock causes me to have around 80% battery in the morning. Im running full stock. I dont wish to root. Is there a setting i am missing or does this charger just not restart after a full charge at some point.
With the Nexus 6 and this F300W Qi, the phone seems to charge to 100%, then it slowly loses charge over night, it doesn't keep it topped up at all. The charger powers off, the charger LED powers off.
I don't know why. I don't have this issue with a Nokia Qi DT-900 charger. The charger's LED slow pulses, as it knows it has reached 100%, but keep powered on.
I think I'm sending back the F300W because of this.
Also noticed with Android 6.0 (not sure about before, as I just got the phone) and the Nexus 6, that placing the phone on any Qi charger causes the phone to power on. It didn't do this with the Nexus 5.
I don't like this at all.
---------- Post added at 05:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:11 PM ----------
Seems to be an issue that they aren't fixing.
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=85538
Yea i use the stock alarm clock and night mode. i dont even fool with daydream as this is enough and by morning im at 75% to 80% because it doesn't start back up. Im thinking of trying the tylt as i like the stand but i didnt want the same issue otherwise its great but for me the whole point was to use the clock and not fool with the charging cable. Thanks for the response. I was hoping someone would and maybe someone can tell us if the tylt works properly as it is more expensive and i dont want to play the exchange game for nothing.
Sorry, I don't know about the Tylt, but there is this thread here that seems to indicate that it is the same with the Nexus 6.
http://forums.androidcentral.com/nexus-6-accessories/464076-google-nexus-6-wireless-charging.html
I have a tylt. It will keep it topped up to 100%.
However, if you want to use charging and daydream to show the clock, you will be disappointed. Once it hits 100% and stops charging, daydream ends and it doesn't come back on when the Tylt turns back on to top it up. This is a Nexus 6 limitation.
Charged the Nexus 6 on a Nokia DT-900 last night, it was at 100% when I took it off the charger. The Spigen doesn't do this.
I use the Choe Stadium Qi 3 coil on Amazon.
It charges to 100% and keeps it there until morning for me.

Is having a wireless charger truly easier than just plugging it in? I've also heard of people using a charger in places like under a table or couch and being able to charge their device without seeing the charger. Is this true? Cool if so!
I Just Got the Speigen one last night. Its nIce To sit down when going to bed. It IS slow though. I have the ampere app which measures charging. When on the Samsung wired charger input hovers around 1000 to 1200mah. On the wireless it is all over the place from 100 to 350mah. I've seen it as low as 10mah. So it's really something to just set it on before bed unless the Samsung on has a much better charging Rate. I got that one half price in exchange for a review so the Samsung one may be in my future if it charges a lot faster. It does however work through my ottorbox. Those higher numbers are bare phone though with no case. This one is supposed to be strong due to the 3 coil design. I call BS.
Now there are websites that sell the 3 coil parts so that you can make your own or integrate it into furniture. I'm thinking about ordering it so I can build it into my center console

It's easier once you get the hang of the "charge zone" on your phone. If you don't set it down properly on the charger then it may not charge.
I have one at work and at home. I just set it down and don't have to have and loose usb charging cord hanging around when I am not charging.
Does anyone know a good wireless charger that its light can be turned off while charging? I can't stand lights on when i'm trying to sleep at night.
I made an accessory for mine. It fits the case perfectly and provides perfect alignment every time, even in complete darkness. Engineers, pay attention:

The three coil design only means a larger charging area, I have the same charger, unless yours is broken I don't know what your are calling bs on. Compared to my old ghost 100 that I had to meticulously place my nexus 6 on this one is pretty much just drop the phone on it, landscape or portrait and it charges fine.
I have a glass table in front of my TV that something like this would work great on. Now that they are so much cheaper than before, any recommendations?

Not really, you can charge the case/phone wirelessly which should only take ~3.5 hours for the case at the slower wireless charging rate. If both are completely depleted then it would take ~7-8 hours to fully charge them via regular wireless charging. it really depends on what the case supports in that sense. It would be nice if it had >10W wireless charging as a capability, then I might consider it since my batter life is complete sh*t.
For the price it's this or the Samsung one. Any ideas which will be better ?

You are completely missing any point here
This is an extra battery inside a case, that uses the wireless charging mechanism inside the phone (instead of USB port) to charge your phone when you are away from AC power.
This is pretty cool, but lacking in the style department.

Actually my understanding is that is does connect to the phone via the micro USB port. The case itself has a Qi receiver built into it so you can put the case case on a Qi charger and it will charge the phone that way. The case does not charge the phone via Qi.

I am not talking about the Samsung one! Just look at the bottom of the Mophie case, it would not be that big if it charged the phone via Qi, not to mention that all the other Mophie cases connect via USB or Lightning even on phones that have Qi built it.
The Mophie case does NOT use the same principal, it connects to the phone via micro USB ONLY.
Samsung case = The case is charged via USB only, it charges the phone via Qi only.
Mophie = The case is charged via USB or Qi, it charges the phone via USB only.
