DozeService multiple wakelocks running LineageOS 14.1 - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

Hey everybody!
I was really really happy to use it, but after flashing the last weekly version (31 January) I'm experiencing heavy battery drain because of SystemUI wakelocks.
WLD shows the DozeService multiple wakelocks, so the "Android" process is the first in list...
Is it just only mine problem? If not, how can I fix it?

ParanoidAndroid wakelock messing up my phone

Hello.
I was using the february build of ParanoidAndroid with gapps and ICS camera + some apps. Then I updated to the March 25 build that came out a few days ago. Since then my battery has been discharging at record rates, and charging the phone with AC takes 10-12 hours when the phone is on cause of it draining so fast. USB charging keeps it even, maybe dropping slowly over many hours. I installed BetterBatteryStats and AlarmManager is constantly up and running it appears, as well as Facebook, Google Services and Email using that AlarmManager a lot.
I tried resetting battery stats in CWM after charging it while turned off a long time, but no progress, so it isn't the stats. I don't have any idea what it could be, was working fine until I updated my ParanoidAndroid tonyp build. Anyone can help? Not sure if I included the right log but I try...
Hopefully someone can help! I get logcat from BetterBatteryStats later, at the moment I got to run. Syslog included tho.

my friend,
read the thread by Goku80 about the wakelocks and you will understand a lot of things....
THE LINK IN MY SIGNATURE
Might be fixed...
Ok so I tried to delete some apps, removed checking for email on Email app (hopefully it still checks when I turn on synchronization global on my device, can anyone confirm if it will?), deleted some more apps, removed sound when lock phone and some stuff like that I saw mentioned in the post. Still appears to be charging slowly and dropping more then it should (At least compared to Djangomanouche rom, rather new to Paranoidandroid). What other tips do you have? I will also look more on that post and see if I find more helpful info.
Included logs from BetterBatteryStats from yesterday.
EDIT: This ROM supports fast charging right? If not, it might be hard to adjust to this ROM...

Wakelocks and Massive battery drain!

Hi guys,
After updating from a March nightly to the latest Cyanogenmod nightly I've been experiencing the worst batterylife I have ever had!
I mean, seriously. Charge it up at night, place it by my bed and it's completely dead in the morning!
So it loses 100% battery overnight, with no usage whatsoever
I've tried beanstalk (Also Cyanogenmod based) and experienced the exact same issue. A full wipe and a brand new Cyanogenmod update and it's exactly the same.
I really can't return to stock as I'm making use of a lot of Cyanogenmods features.
The wakelocks are:
As reported by BetterBatteryStats:
Msm_hsic_host
And also a msm_camera wakelock poped up at the top of the list once.
Needless to say "Android OS" tops my battery usage screen with over 90% usage
Is anyone else experiencing the same issues? Anyone know a fix?
I'm basically without a phone right now

I've got the same issue here, but for me it's caused by Google services. At times my battery drains within 4 hours, even if I don't use the phone.
But at some times (most of the times) the phone just acts normal.
Before 4.3 I never had this problem, waiting for 4.4, hope that my problem will be gone. Else I'll just go back to 4.2
Aha! Success!
I have found the issue, I'll post it here if anyone else is having the same issue. Not sure if it'll help you though Dsteppa as your problem seems slightly different to mine
Although I would recommend "freezing" google maps as a starting point. See if that helps! Many android devices suffer from a similar problem, chances of it helping you is about 70%. If you're rooted it's relatively easy to do using apps from the playstore
Msm_hsic_host is used to "mount" the 3g modem as a usb device.. At least that's what I've gathered from various sources. Some phones have a kernel issue which stops the modem from being "unmounted" when data sending/receiving has been completely and thus drains the battery.
Turns out Msm_hsic_host was working as intended. It was actually an app which was apparently steaming data in real time, forcing the 3g modem to remain at full power and preventing the phone from sleeping. The unusual thing is that this app claimed it only consumed less than 3% and didn't even show on Better Battery Stats!
Uninstalling the app instantly solved my battery power issues! So for anyone experiencing similar issues, check for any apps which could be using "realtime" streaming; Such as third party Twitter / Facebook or even Email apps.
Hope this helps!

[Q] Help with CM11 based ROMs ! Low performance and battery drain

Hello to all,
I have two problems that are almost making me go back to stock 4.3 ROM
The first is related to the battery, the android system appears first with 25% + battery drain, and in most cases equal to or greater than the battery consumption of the screen! This makes my battery does not pass a day, and the stock I went much further (without STAMINA MODE).
The second issue is regarding the performance measured by AnTuTu. I know that does not mean much, but in the STOCK I get 25.5k and I read out there that people also manages the same in CM11 LBL (the MrSteve555 and also bagyusz), I do not understand why I can here the maximum 22.5K .
Independent of ROM I have put the same results. Tested in all versions of MrSteve555 and in the last two of bagyusz. Also tested in the PAC-man RC-1 neXus PRIME, same result and battery consumption.
In all ROMs I wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache.
Does anyone have any idea how to solve this? I am discouraged because I love the CM11.
Ps: I use .207 kernel and I've tried with .205 also, same result. (I have LBL)
Damn what is that screenshot supposed to show?? 30 minutes off charge and it is at 99%!!! It's obvious that the screen consumption will be minimum, it was on for a minute or so probably... I know that usually android system drain is higher in cm than stock but you should compare your battery stats at the end of the day...
Please reset the counter by tapping on the trash icon on the activity bar. Then please post a screenshot after hours of usage. This will enable other people to properly interpret your battery stats.
Some tips though, you will most likely encounter a slight battery drain while using custom ROMs. This is due to the fact that stock ROM and custom ROM works differently. You might actually having a normal drain than a supposedly "bad" one.
By the end of the day will be the same... Anyway I will post later.
I attached new images for better understanding.
Does anyone have any idea?
Firstly, Antutu scores mean sh*t...
In the past I've had allot of ROMs with very bad Antutu scores which performed much better in terms of speed and general user experience than a standard ROM with higher Antutu score.
Furthermore, install better battery stats or any other wakelock detector app to see what is draining your battery. The pictures you are showing us now don't help at all.
I've exactly the same problem, android consumes always more than 25% battery too...

As I mentioned above, you need to identify what is causing the wakelocks first. Untill then there's absolutely no solution that can be presented to both of you.
By pointed by Gamm86, it might be due to wakelocks. Once the wakelocks are found, you may use Greenify to hibernate that rogue app. When the app is selected within Greenify, you will find it easier to see the wakeup path and cut it off through Greenify.

It's not always apps themselves that cause wakelocks.
Background services related to phone or app settings are usually the culprits, meaning greenify won't resolve all wakelocks.

yes I understand. Hmm i believe you are more experienced in this matter. Would you tell me how to stop those wakelocks that caused from other services? I would really appreciate that, cause I find many people solve this problem but they never did expose where they learn from or the methods they use. and yea, I've googled but I got nothing

Use Disable service app. Check which wakelock is occurring and disable that service.
Or get the donate version of unbounce and delay the wakelocks like every hour or so.
I already use Greenify and hibernate all apps that are not chat, not solved.
I also noticed that while I sleep and the phone remains idle the android system does not consume a lot of battery, something around 6%, but when you turn on the screen and the phone is active it starts to drain. So the problem is not in the wakelock, but elsewhere.
I'm using the applications suggested to post new screenshots later.
I used the apps for a day and I'm posting the screenshots of the result ... the system keeps draining and I don't see any information that would help me on the images.
Anyone have any ideas?

I'm on MrSteve555's CM for LBL and was also wondering why I was getting a much lower AnTuTu score than stock. Then I discovered that I get 22.5K scores WHEN CHARGING and 25.5K scores running off the battery!

I have noticed the same issues on all 4.4.x based roms (slimkat, pac, PA etc.). The only fix i found was to disable the automatic screen brightness. After disabling it the system_server service became normal and Android System dropped to 9-8% of overall battery consumption.
Good luck

My phone never enters deep sleep when i lock it with WiFi on, this happens on cm11 by steve it drains a lot overnight
4.00 - 4.30 hours on screen = 2 days with playing fifa 15 and facebook + viber. 1-2 photos, 60 mins browsing and about 30 mins talk good for me without using battery safe apps - lock my bl and using .207's kernel on mr.steve555's Weeklies CM11 lbl
try CM11 Mahdi Rom 4.4.4 with gapps minimal 23mb ,my battery work as well after play music, game and facebook

Very disappointed in OP3t battery life. Not sure what to do.

I'm coming from a OnePlus One. Unfortunately, I can't find reliable BLP571 replacement batteries in the U.S., so I purchased a new OP3t.
On the OPO, I have been running custom MM and N-based ROMs. When the OPO (currently running Nougat 7.1.1 on TugaPower 2.1) is sitting around doing nothing, I typically see my idle battery current drain at around 9 uA to 14 uA and Wakelocks around 10%. Of course, when I turn the screen on, these jump up.
On the OP3t, I have tried running both OOS 3.5.4 and the new TugaPower 4.0 (which is based on Nougat 7.1.1). When the OP3t is supposedly doing nothing, I saw an idle current of around 85 mA on OOS 3.5.4, and around 35 mA on TugaPower. I didn't check the Wakelocks on OOS 3.5.4, but the Wakelocks on TugaPower are around 93% awake time (!!!!).
When I wake up in the morning, the OP3t is down to around 75% battery. For reference, my OPO used to be around 98% overnight when the battery was new. Even now, my ancient OPO with a nearly useless battery is around 85% for the same overnight time period.
What can I do?
3.5.4 actually has drain issues, try 3.5.3
Even after the annoying wake-locks and the random battery drain that just happens because why not... I still manage to get 5-6 hours of SOT, I have managed to push it till around 9 hours if I keep the Bluetooth and data off; with Greenify and using the aggressive doze it has helped but I don't get any notifications until I turn my screen back on.. Which is fine with me, as I get texts and calls. It's much better than the nexus 6 and the galaxy s4 which would struggle to even get 4 hours of on screen time. There are plenty of people raising issues about battery life on the OnePlus3T even though its probably much than your last device. XDA also has plenty of threads already created talking about the same subject.
Edit - I'm on the latest nougat update 4.0.1
the 3T or OOS doesnt have any drain or bad battery issues.
the problem is user/user-app based.
sort out the app which is causing the problem.
I just made a post to a similar thread. It seems the battery issue is hit or miss. At any rate, please check my post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70581453&postcount=9
Let me know if this helps you out. Look forward to feedback.

You stole my thunder.
Just kidding, but you're absolutely correct. I'm waiting to get my OP3T and then I will write a tutorial for users to help them out with the battery. Those 2 apps will be in my tut along with a few others that are helpful!
Weird, usually my phone, while idle of course, drains by 1% every 2 and a half to 3 hours. During use while im not playing games or anything im using pixel filter. Most time ive gotten is 9 hours 32 mins screen time. Im on 4.0.1 not rooted. Just uninstall apps u dont really need like amazon, youtube, facebook, tumblr and so on and use Firefox web browser. Firefox has background play for YouTube or any other audio source so you can stream music on Spotify soundcloud or whatever you want. I basically rely on Firefox for all internet things as if my phone were a PC. Saves time and battery because with 6gb ram my browser never slows down or reloads. Firefox is also really nice in the background consuming only 10mah every hour when not active or streaming audio. Cutting down ur app count will allow your device to doze longer, fetch less data and it certainly drains far less. Also if you're into this sort of thing, boot times are much quicker too.
Edit: sorry for the unedited massive paragraph here.
Another Edit: Make sure in case you want to use battery saver mode while streaming music to toggle Firefox to have unrestricted data usage in the data saver menu.
Check the link in my signature. My drain wasn't quite as bad but might help you figure it out. Good luck!
Thanks, guys! Greenify + ForceDoze seems to be helping a LOT! I'll need to let it run a few days to see the the real-world numbers.
I am having a problem adding apps to the ForceDoze Whitelist, though. Is that a known issue?

I've found that the whitelist appears blank until you add or remove an app, then the whole list will appear.
For me at times something appears to kick in in the background causing the CPU to spike and the phone to heat up. I can't figure out what it is though. When this isn't happening the battery drain is virtually zero and the phone flatlines overnight ,when it kicks in,the battery loses about 10% an hour on idle. I think there might be faulty drivers or something in the ROM causing this?! It's not apps as it happens to me on a completely debloated ROM with no apps. This is on Lineage and OOS. I've never seen this before on the phones I've had.

OOS 4.01 - I am experiencing exactly what you describe at 12%/hr and I have done literally all of the suggestions here. I have greenify, force doze, turned off location, disabled swift, did a factory reset and installed only 1 or 2 apps- and still I can watch battery drain with:
4 hours off charger and down to 44% with:
Kernel (android OS) 42.5%
Android System 33.7%
Google Play services 2.4%
Blah...Blah... (much smaller %'s)
What the heck could be causing this kind of drain? It seems to flatline when not in use for a while...
thoughts? Love the phone., but it is not usable like this....
4.0.1....No battery saving apps..

Hello,
I usually use Greenify Paid Version + Amplify Paid Version but only in 6.X roms in 7.X Xposed isn´t released yet....
Do you recommend use Greenify + ForceDoze (I never heard about this app) even without Xposed?
Thanks in advance.
I am still struggling with battery performance on my new OP3t.
I am running TugaPower N10 (LineageOS 7.1.1) + Better Battery Stats + Battery Monitor Widget + ForceDoze + Greenify.
While my wakelocks seem to be pretty short now, my lowest average current drain is 35 mA. For reference, my old OnePlus One had a lowest average current drain of 7 mA, or about 5x more on the OP3t.
My battery meter reflects the higher drain.
I have the same apps installed, maybe even some less.
Looking for more assistance ...
I'm on 4.0.3 OOS and using Franco kernel, 2% drain during all night, 5 hours of screen on time and still 56% battery, check what is wrong with your apps, or move from Lineage to OOS, is simply better.
EDIT: I'm not using any app like ForceDoze or Greenify
I'm not dissapointed.

Google app, Google play services and dreaded qcom_rx_wakelock.

Up until now i had only read about these battery sapping horrid problems. Being on OS Beta4 i though might be lucky enough to be exempt. But last night i lost over 30-40%.
Wakelock detector told me G/app and G/services are at fault and the cause of qcom_rx_wakelock keeping phone awake 50% of the time.
Has anyone experienced this and got a solution. Very annoying and thx in advance.

me too but I realized thoses kernel waklocks are supposed to be there and its not a reason that your battery drains over night. My 5X 6P 3T HTC10 have them but Thoese wakelocks can be blocked by installing a custom kernel. My 3T sleep like a baby. the battery graph is flat.
They maybe supposed to be there but I don't think they they should keep yr phone awake @ 50%.
I am always checking wakelocks especially after trying new apps and stuff. Luckily I've never experienced these problems with google apps and services but now I am. Thx
