Anyone change DPI yet?
One of my main reason for wanting root was to change DPI. Anyone have success in changing dpi after root?
Does this root method trip Knox counter

I have Active. Just install the apk and it reboots? Does SuperSU show up?
Superuser doesn't show up but root apps work. You can download rootchecker from play store to verify once it reboots

Mine didn't get tripped. You're safe
from my frothy.... froth... frosty... frost
Rooted and yes, I was able to change per-app DPI using an Xposed module. So far, no issues. Haven't done much but install Xposed and a bunch of long-awaited modules!
Rooted SM-G900A. Knox is NOT tripped, double checked. SuperSU manually installed using the .apk available from their website. The SuperSU app in the app store is not updated to the latest version yet. Froze LocalFOTA and AT&T Software Update using Titanium Backup so hopefully no OTA in the future. Also froze the security policy update app in Titanium Backup.
How do you check if Knox tripped

@skatin707 do not use build.prop to change the DPI. That makes a global change, you can use Xposed and then get the module called "App Settings" in the Xposed Download repo and change the DPI to something different for each app. Forums/browsers maybe you want 400dpi or smaller but games system etc you'll want to stay at a higher DPI to not have spacing issues. @runnernsd this also applies to you.

I wasn't going to use the build.prop to change it, I just wanted to know what the stock DPI was. I use textdroider and xposed modules to modify specific apps.

Turn off the phone, then, press power, home, and volume down button together and hold them until you reach a prompt that says press volume up to continue. Press volume up and you should see a Knox Counter in one of the lines listed. If it's 0x0 its not void, if it's 0x1 its tripped and therefore warranty is void.
I can't find the dpi in build.prop either but I actually want to do a global

I prefer the smaller icons... my M8 is at 320 It's the perfect size.

I prefer smaller as well. I used 380 on my G2 and it worked really well.
I would like to disable them and get rid of some bloatware that T-Mobile has put on this phone. If y'all can give me a good app and the apks needed get rid of I would be very thankful.
Thanks in advanced

You may want to take a look @ MicroMod777's debloated rom. It has the major bloaters removed already and OTA disabled.
I'm running it without issue.
Good Luck

You can freeze and uninstall apps with Titanium Backup.. It's a great program to have.

So I went to flash the debloater zip file and it put all the T-Mobile stuff back on my phone. Did I do something wrong?
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
Did you put the debloated ROM on your phone or the debloater app because they're two different things. Also are you ROOTED because you can't use the debloated ROM unless you're rooted unlocked and custom recovery installed.
I have the Debloater T-Mobile rom zip drive. I have flashify and twrp while being rooted and oem unlock.

Well if you have TWRP installed already then all that's left to do it boot into recovery, make a backup ( in case bad things happen) wipe cache ( TWRP may already do this while flashing ) and then flash the debloated ROM.
first time in twrp it asked me something about making the system read only to stop future ota updates? did you guys do that or? I think the button said "read only" so it would make it read only?
---------- Post added at 02:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:59 AM ----------
Also without flashing a new rom can i disable ota updates? There has to be a file or app I can remove?

Lol I'm confused because it sounds like you're done, what else are you trying to do?

I'm vaguely remembering that but I think it's asking it you want to allow an OTA to wipe over TWRP. You probably wouldn't and that because then you'd probably lose root and recovery.

Ok, just rooted my T-Mobile g4 (congratulate me yay) do I just freeze "update center" via titanium? Or is there something else I need to do?

Is there a guide for this? I am not seeing anything particularly for the HTC 10. Does the HTC 10 play well with xposed? I don't want to run down a path of bootloops etc.
If I'm not mistaken, it should just be Xposed SDK23 64bit.

I've installed the apk and flashed sdk23/arm64. xposed installer is saying the framework is not installed. I have even removed all the language packs from system apps to help give room on the partition. Very frustrating. Xposed is the ONE thing worth gaining root access for. =(!
After you flashed, did it go through that whole Android is updating thing?
I haven't used Xposed in awhile as well. :/

Check the areas where Xposed gets extracted to and see if it did flash.
I'd try mounting manually, then flashing again.

Hi guys, today I was rooting my phone, just like I've done many a times, since it had been running unrooted since I updated it to Beta 5. Since then, my phone's home and back button have stopped working. In addition to this, my lock screen doesn't reflect the camera amd search shortcuts.
Also, my notification panel doesn't expand and is stuck to the level that shows only the 5 shortcuts.
Help? Let.me know if you guys require anything from my side.

So do I, but would you suggest a factory reset? I really don't wanna do that until it's absolutely necessary, and is the last resort.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
I'd suggest wiping internal and everything and then reflashing the ROM. If that doesn't work go back to completely stock and start over
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
Also to add to the list of features not working
1. Unable to enter developer options
2. Unable to download and update apps from the play store
3. Unable to change or add user accounts to the phone

yeah, I did that and it solved all the issues. factory resets are a pain! but glad that it's working fine now!
So since you have Xposed means it's rootable, custom recovery, etc. I guess just looking for a phone that is able to be rooted isn't that hard part anymore. It's being able to get a custom recovery on it. If you live in the US any prepaid phones you can buy from BB, Target, Walmart, etc ? About to lose my mind trying to get Xposed on a phone.

Everybody says One Plus so I'm just going to assume this is a module for the One Plus and just give up.
LG G3 (32GB), AICP 12.1 CrazyAqua Kernel 1.0, Magisk 14, SDK 25 Xposed
I have Oneplus 5, running RR ROM and it tells me= module is not activated, although I activated and reboot,
I think problem is with encryption, if anyone can help me
