What is XOSP?
XOSP is an after-market firmware based on CodeAuroraSources (CAF) destinated for a wide range of Android phones. The name stands for the Xperia Open Source Project and the project was initially created by @nilac for the Galaxy S+ (his old device) years ago when back then the ROM was called S+ Reborn. The vision was to create a minimal bloat free ROM which included Sony Xperia specific apps and various tweaks users would expect from a custom ROM.
S+ Reborn became a success and was eventually ported to different devices so from there it was rebranded to XOSP. Calin worked on the project for 2 years always trying to improve it. Eventually, Because of the fact Lollipop was buggy on his Galaxy S+, he decided to take a break from development until he got his hands on the Zenfone 2 in 2015 and from then he started again the development of XOSP and continued it ever since.
How do we release updates?
We release new updates for our Official devices each week by providing Delta updates to the users,so maintainers of the other devices can do the same as well if they want to keep up with the changes. We will make full zip releases only once a month except special cases like for example XOSPDelta is not working or something like it.
You can find all the included features right:
Here
You can find the list of current issues in the ROM right:

Yes,Adoptable SD card feature is functional but Facebook and Messenger App has issue with this feature so move those two app to Internal storage by any third-party app because the built-in moving option still has bug.

No new update yet but Release 8 coming soon.If you're coming from another custom rom then do clean flash to avoid any issue.

Very nice ROM!
Please add nougat status bar and some tweaks for battery perfomance.
Also, my «Phone» icon is different than screenshot.

The xosp nought notification status is already built-in and has good battery performance. You can blur notification center and the option in the xosp setting. Icone are the the same just you're seeing more Google app because I used stock GApps.Xosp nought RL7 is the second release after Initial release update so new features are yet to come.RL8 is in work and will release soon.

1. I mean icons in Status Bar. They are xpereish, not nougat or marshmallow. It would be great if these icons are more modern.
Look at these official Xperia Nougat icons in status bar http://i-cdn.phonearena.com/images/reviews/197908-image/Sony-Xperia-XZ-Review-001.jpg
2. How can I remove the "x" badge from Mobile Network icon in my status bar? I don't use mobile Internet, and this badge on the icon confused me, because the mobile network is works, but mobile internet turned off:
This is wrong indicator, because mobile network is turned on.

Xosp has the modern status icon UI just watch the official sony nougat video from youtube. The xosp battery icon is in landscape mode so you find it different from official sony nougat's Portrait battery UI.and "x" badge you see indicates that your mobile data is off so don't be confused.

"x" badge indicates if something wrong.
I turned off mobile internet, it's not wrong.
Accordingly, the badge should not be shown, because no wrong events.
Usually the "x" badge is shown when a faulty mobile operator.

You misunderstood the fact,The X badge indicates 2 thing 1|If your mobile data turn off 2|If your mobile data connection get interrupt by bad signal or any other issue by your mobile network.

Found a bug: proximity sensor doesn't work. When dialing, the phone screen turns off and does not respond to the approach of the ear or palm.
Is there a way to fix it?

Xposed is stable because I used xposed in cm rom and worked great without any problems. The main problem is with the rom or kernel itself.I have the cm 13 rom last builded by Chippa_a.That is still a great rom.No problem at all.Thank God I kept the rom as a backup.I hope next stable build will be coming soon.

Just test for 4 hours. This ROM is awesome except the system often reboots after a lagging/hanging.
UPDATE: Maybe the phone is too hot so system automatically restarts. I put it on the refrigerator to cool down and it works fine now .
This is what I did (C6603):
- Do a clean flash (ROM + XApps, GApps).
- Enter the google account then let device restores apps.
Ok The Rom is very good.
But the Battery Symbol is not my Favourite. How can i change it?

What release of Marshmallow this ROM has, and also is it synced to the latest CM sources? I see that the release 2 has r13, but this ROM is on release 1, and on the build.prop it has the May security patch, and this is very confusing.

In setting data usage in WiFi no option to disable WiFi access in individual app...?? Lineageos rr roms n other roms has it
Battery drain is minimal. Better that original LineageOS.
I nominate this ROM for Lite or Slim ROM.

Osprey works fine keyboar here.
Its an osprey, though i've noticed lately that this happens when the default keyboard settings have been customised like skin changed and popup on keypress disabled..
Anyways a great rom and can't thank u enough...

I use this rom on merlin. Awesome the battery life, rom is very fluid and stable. I have not had any problems with the data or connections, I have not experienced any type of keyboard problems like the ones that comments dhrjbhtt0. I miss a similar function to live display. These are small details that I have noticed:
- I can not turn off the led when charging battery
- there are several translations to the Spanish language
- unfortunately the problem of the battery has just occurred when the battery goes down by 20%, the cell phone goes off and it is necessary Re-start it
- It is not possible to increase or decrease the volume when listening to music while the screen is locked. I tried different applications

Well, the keyboard issue seems to be an aftermath of customising kboard settings. Stock settings do not cause any problems as such.
As for the other issue, let's hope they get resolved in upcoming builds for both devices as updates are going to be weekly now.
Cheers
Any help installing the latest official build dated 29th April. The phone gets stuck at the warning screen and then nothing happens on my osprey.
(For those unaware, an official rom has been posted on the xosp download site.) Also, I had uninstalled magisk and flashed supersu.
Thank u..

This is an unofficial build of XOSP Nougat for S4 Mini 3G (GT-I9190), DS (GT-I9192), LTE (GT-I9195), and USC (SCH-R890) only.
The ROM is now based on AOSP-CAF (changed over from Lineage) and while nilac maintained as much compatibility with CM hardware as possible, some unexpected bugs are possible. For the same reason build is not the simplest, so do not expect weekly updates. I will try to do my best to update once a month, but no promises.

Will try to build an update at least once a month. So far this is the only AOSP-CAF based nougat ROM for our device and it is quite unique so it would be nice to have it as an option. Problem is that because it is CAF based, building it is not a sure thing. I exchanged a few messages with nilac who helped me get going with it, will see how the future goes.
I like this ROM a lot, but AOKP is still my favourite.
You should be able to turn off Ambient display if you don't like it. I didn't look at home button wake option yet.
Hi all, does this ROM have the "USB Internet" option in network settings that enables reverse tethering to a connected PC? Thanks a million if someone who has it installed can check!

I didn't check volume buttons but you are right about the camera. I' am afraid it could be a CAF incompatibility, I'll try to figure something out if I can.
Update: you are right about the volume too. I will ask nilac if it is normal
Hi, great to see a different rom, CM/lineageos still the same since many years
Great projects dev, thanks

Volume is now entered as bug in the bug tracker. I received a response which works as a temporary workaround:
"It is caused by the feature that makes the tracks change when volume buttons are long-pressed when the screen is off. Disabling it in the sound settings makes them work again."
Twrp 3.1.n1-0
New TWRP builds are uploaded
Starting with this version sources are maintained by my as Matt decided to stop working on it.
A few updates on XOSP: Sources are now updated to 7.1.2_r11; the volume button issue is solved, and the home button wake entered as feature request.
I will hold off for a few more days with an update as nilacis looking into this strange camera issue when taking pictures with flash. Apparently no other device has this problem, yet I don't believe it to be device related as we don't have it on LOS based ROMs
Wonderful rom, just need more customized menue
, camera issue still persist
New builds based on 7.1.2 are uploaded
- Volume buttons should work with screen off
- camera FC while using flash is still there unfortunately; nilac is helping me with this, it is very strange issue
@jason972000 will hopefully maintain this ROM for the LTEUSC variant and this thread will be extended to include this serrano variant as well.
Thank you Jason!
