Bloatware-free stock ROMs for G800F? - Galaxy S5 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking for a list of stock G800F roms which are bloatware free and not branded in any way. So far I have tried only one, South East Europe (SEE) which is downloadable from sammobile and is completely clean from any branding or bloatware. Which other ROMs are like this?
So far I've found the following clean stock ROMs. The list is getting updated as I test, feel free to contribute.
- South East Europe (SEE) - as stock as it gets, default language is English and can be changed during initial setup
- Germany (DBT) - no branding at all, 3 apps that can be uninstalled, default language is German and can be changed

searching for this too!

Slim6 in ROM section is for F variant. It is very light Samsung free, Google free. You need GAPPS to get Google Play for that ROM. It's really smooth and pretty much everything works.

what about battery stats or camera bugs? is it solved in slim6 rom?? did you find any bugs or is completely stable? thanks

I didn't have problems with camera but I don't use it a lot. Battery life is okay but this is custom made so expect it to lose power a bit faster. However it's so much smoother than what Samsung made that you won't believe your eyes.

its important for me that the standard camera works fine, read everywhere about fc crashes ans so on...

As far as I know it works fine on untouched version, but he made another version that's 2.0 atm and I heard that one has problems but if you install custom application for camera you're good. As always these are custom ROMs so you need to accept risk and be ready to screw around if things go south but from my expirences it's pretty good.

Best STOCK like rom?

I've went back to latest official ROM, 2.3.3 JVH NEE, released in Sweden by Samsung because I got tired to always hunt for the perfekt kernel and the perfect ROM.
Now I know why I started looking for other ROM's.. It's lags when playing musik via Spotify while you surf the net, slow over all respons in UI, I know it's slow due to RFS and I've converted to EXT4, but I'm not fully satisfied.
I want a as near STOCK ROM att possible and stable as original (Yes, the latest Swedish ROM, 2.3.3 JVH, is the most stable ROM I've used and got the best battery time, even tho it's slow.).
Does you know of any ROM that meet these requirements? I would like to not feel the difference if I rebooted my phone yesterday or two weeks ago.

I would recommend you to try SAUROM JVU ROM. It's almost close to stock with huge loads of modifications integrated.
Yes, I would also go for SAUROM if it comes for a close to stock GB ROM. One of the benefits it has over many other Samsung-based ROMs is the integration of JKAY Mod that allows you to customize status bar buttons and power menu. Plus in the newest version it has some handy quick link buttons in the notification drawer.
Thank you guys, I'll take a look at Saurom.
___SAUROM___
I've also tried so many diff ROMs.
All I really wanted is nice working stock ROM.
Tried so many. Did not try SAUROM, cause this is a new one, but tried many SAUROM like. I mean ROMS, that claim that they are just like the stock, but better.
CM was fine, but it was also very complicated. And had some bugs.
Really stupid. I could not sync with google e.g.
Finally I ended up with MIUI. Surprisingly for myself.
Clean, nice, fast, easy swype customization and install.
Here are some screens:
http://db.tt/0gh5gInG
MIUI+Go launcher
It works fast, no lags, no freezes, nothing bad.
GSM works fine, GPS is super fast and accurate, battery is OK.
Finally I don't need to tweak my phone any more.

MIUI & Cyanogen are the real custom ROMS. All the rest are stock-based with tweaks and customization. Saurom is highly customizable compared to the other stock based. But if this doesn't matter to you, you can try Darky's latest ROM from his website. I currently use MIUI Rom, you can try the MINTBerry edition (Which I use ), available on the forum. And I would go for Saurom regarding stock based. Good Luck.

Nightly build still updated, real AOSP, less lag than stock, massive possibilities for customizations.
I've had JVH for some time, later JVU, now latest CM7.2 RC0 with CM7 kernel.
Changed to JVO modem (siky_dude has links to many flashable modems) to fix Hello-Hello-Bug. Better than JVK modem.
T9 dialer, better UI translation than JVU even for Norwegian, native keyboard support nor. + swe. + +
Don't flash each nightly (stress battery time?) but check changelog for interesting fixes. Most of the fixes are not even notable in every day use. Flashing new nightly WILL keep ALL settings, market apps, sms, data... Just clear cache/dalvik/prior flashing, fix permission post flashing.
BTW: ALL ROMs have some lag

Thanks for all your support.
I'll try MIUI first(http://roms.miui.us/2.2.17/MIUI.us_galaxysmtd_2.2.17_Eng_Deo_ZipA_Signed.zip), never tried it but heard mutch about it.
Btw. Tried both the f1 and surface (like f1). Managed to **** up each in less than 2 weeks. Darky ROM was easy. Destroyed it in one week
but probably it is my party doing something really wrong.

MIUI Mintberry 2.2.17 Close to perfection. No... definitely not. It is perfect.
I've been using the MIUI mintberry for a few weeks and it's so frickin' amazing. First impression was "oh this is beautiful" then i noticed it was fast. Few days passed and the battery life seemed great. I did some benchmarks and surprised by the results.
I would highly recommend for you to try that one!
Cheers
I'd go for DarkyRom... It worked pretty well for me, bur then I discovered MIUI Roms and they are much better!!
DarkyRom isnt a fully custom Rom. Its a stock samsung edited. There are only 2 custom gb roms. MIUI and Cyanogenmod7 and they run much faster ofcourse. Im a CM fan either way

In terms of cameras, just search for one on the Play store. There should be thousands. However, can you please link to the ROM you used? AFAIK none of the current ICS ROMs have this issue, so you might have an outdated ROM. I also don't know whether Dorimanx ever released a full HWA kernel compatible with ICS, so please check that you've got the right one installed.

Well, i thought i found the perfect one, lol, thanks for the information,
And which ICS Rom do you suggesst? Ive tried nexusHD i didnt like it because its internal storage was very low, i think its just on my phone so,
Is nexusHD2 the best ICS for HD2 out there?
i think i will have to look out for some new roms..
I personally use NexusHD2, but I'm going to change soon to a JB ROM (hopefully). For internal storage you can just flash an A2SD script or install Link2SD. However, I would encourage you to try ROMs yourself and find the best one for you. What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another person.

It was written that the boot will take a while, and it will reboot 1 time automaticly, the boot time wasnt that long, i expected a longer time, and it did reboot 1 time,
I think that rom is leading the JB roms out for mHD2 yet....

[Q] Captivate SGH-I897 camera/Video/Gallery bugs

Hi..
Updated my cappy from Froyo 2.2 to UCKK4, now on Liquidsmooth v2.9 JB-4.2.2
Camera worked initially, video mode did not. Next day clicking the camera icon resulted in an
error saying "unfortunately gallery has quit/shut down".
Clearing data & cache in gallery helped to be able to take and view pics again but as soon as
i attempt to take video it crashes gallery again.
- Does a gallery problem affect camera or video use?
- Would another gallery app make any difference?
- Would freezing, or turning any google apps/tasks off cause this problem?
Any advice appreciated..........
The issues you have are ROM specific, not device specific. The ROM you use was never released for Captivate and therefore has no support on this device. You may eventually look for solutions in i9000 forum - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223729

Well, thanks again Val D..
I was given the ROM directly from a member knowing I had a captivate, nothing mentioned
about it NOT being released for the Cappy... Hmmm!
Too bad cause I kinda liked it but not without Video/Camera. Possibly could have found
a fix.. another time maybe!
Flashed back to UCKK4... Will take some extra time choosing next!
If you want to actually use your Captivate, then go with light JB ROMs like GamerzROM (don't change default kernel), ported CyanAOSP (with Semaphore 3.0.0c kernel) or just default CM10.1.0 (10.1.3 is a full package ROM, heavier than 10.1.0). If you want just to play with it, then you can try every full featured ROM available for Captivate. Keep in mind though that Captivate is a >3y old very limited RAM device and every single service or feature you run makes it progressively slower. I wouldn't recommend any 4.3.x based ROM, all I have tested are slower than 4.2.2 based. 4.4.x based ROMs are still in development, with some missing device specific features.

Have flashed back to Stock UCKK4 in the mean time..
Not really looking for a full featured ROM; prefer something very slim/light, keeping in mind the cappy's age,
then add the apps I use. It's just a tool to me! Lol
That said, would you think the light JB "GamerzROM" would be the best choice of the ones you mentioned?
Thanks again, really appreciate the suggestions! Very helpful and informative!

You'll need to find what is best for you, there is no universal best choice. I'm running stripped down version of CM10.1 Stable with Semaphore 3.0.0c kernel. Closest ROM to my own version is ported CyanAOSP. SlimBean is also a very good ROM, but unfortunately best 4.2.2 based version IMHO build 6 is not available anymore on their website. Honestly, there is no JB ROM without any lag. Captivate is just too old and slow device to run well newer Android versions. Forget about Liquid Smooth, For Gaming, Fastest, etc. statements, no such thing. Play a little with any new dual or quad core device with more available and much faster RAM and you'll see what I'm talking about. Captivate is good with a basic ROM and no more than 20-30 light apps.

Funny you mention Slimbean BWolf56, basically what I've been partial to.. My particular problem
is being new to all this is, determining just how light/slim a particular ROM is!
I notice quite a differemce in ROM sizes when downloaded but is that any indication?
And Val D, I understand what you're saying, a phone being just a computer so... I'll soon find out what
the captivate can handle!
Thanks guys!!
PS.. I've been keeping a record of what I've done, as well as a database of all the files and programs I've used!
Haha, I hate looking for something twice!
I'll give a holler when I've checked out another!

Incoming call notification

Hi, I tried to find how to enable Incoming call notifications feature like in Note3 (when you are in app you just see small notification of incoming call instead of full screen one which sometimes shut down app).
Is any1 can help me to find or implement this in stock I9295 4.4 ROM.
Thank you
You cannot straight away enable it. You would require to replace the phone.apk with incallui.apk + a few other apk's and make several edits to systemui and frameworks to make it work.
If you are phone model is i9295 then you can flash the super WizCyan ROM which is stock 4.4.2 and having mostly S5 apps including this feature. You will get the link to the thread in my signature.
Thank you Jasonrr. That will be a lot easier if this will be available as a mod. Will wait maybe some1 will do mod with this.

What do you mean by google edition? there is no google edition ROM for our device (at least that I know of) and even the google edition will not have it as this is a samsung (phone app) feature. Though I remember this feature was available in one of the CM based ROM's, cannot recollect which one though.
If you are looking at an ASOP ROM then the Super WizCyan ROM is deodexed and totally debloated (can compare it with ASOP) with only the goodness of touchwiz (includes S5 Toolbox - floating app bar) with a separate aroma add-on installer for additional apps / features that were removed.
Yeah i looked at your ROM and is really interesting, maybe will try to put it on later. Did u benchmark your ROM vs stock 4.4.2?

Did a benchmark once with antutu and it gave a score of around 29000. Though I should mention that I am not much a fan of the benchmarks and have never tried before debloating and applying the MOD's (if that is what you meant by stock)
Oh yes, the one by Spegelius is the kitkat version, which is still work in progress (but seems quite stable now) and partly based on CM11, while the other is a jellybean port from S4
I'm a week already with your ROM, and I can say is very smooth, performance is better than stock ROM and I see 10-20% better battery life.
So if any1 looking for this feature I suggest to instal WizzCyan ROM developed by Jasonrr. You will never want to back to stock ROM again.

Ok, so the international model. So if you want stock Android 6.x, my personal recommendations are Android Ice Cold Project (AICP), it's very feature rich while being as close to stock as possible and it has nightly updates. It also has really great performance and battery life, I haven't had any lag and get at least a day out of my battery. There's also Cyanogenmod 13 although it hasn't been updated for a month or so to my knowledge. And lastly another good one is crDroid. I personally recommend AICP because of the almost daily updates, and features, I have it installed on both my M7 and Nexus 4. I haven't had any issues and if there is an issue it's normally fixed the following update.

Android Lollipop with the Google Play Editions are pretty much what you'd get on the stock Nexus experience. A lot of Google apps, and pure stock Lollipop without any modifications. Some do have some modifications to them, and some don't.

Cyanogenmod 12.1 is really the only Lollipop ROM that I have used other than the Sense 7 roms, they have almost nightly updates for their Lollipop builds. Google Play Edition+ is another great one for 5.x, you can pick between stock Play Edition and the developer's custom build packed with features.

If your primary rom is Sense-based then simply download this kernel, ElementalX, and flash it to your main rom. It has some pretty good features too that you can pick from during the installation. There also is a GPE build for Play Edition roms as well. Reboot into the rom just to make sure everything flashed smoothly, and then reboot and you can then boot into your different roms in multi boot. Just make sure that if you change your main rom in Multiboot that it has to have this kernel, I haven't found any other one that supports it. There also aren't any Marshmallow kernels just yet either, sadly.

Just make sure that if you change your main rom in Multiboot that it has to have this kernel, I haven't found any other one that supports it. There also aren't any Marshmallow kernels just yet either, sadly.

Hmm. I'm currently busy until around 10-11pm EST, whenever I get done and back home I will take a look around to see if there might be anything. If it's Marshmallow based though there isn't any custom kernels yet. Wouldn't hurt to make like a GPE or Sense rom your primary one and simply leave it there, I do that. I use MIUI 7 as my daily driver but I have InsertCoin Sense 7 installed for my main rom so I can have 2-3 other roms installed. Just some advice if that helps

I think, what would work best for you since you prefer stock-based roms, is download the Google Play Edition+ I linked earlier in the thread, install it as a secondary rom and also flash the ElementalX kernel under Flash Zip. Afterwards go under Advanced, Multirom, Swap Rom, and leave it as Swap primary and pick the GPE+ and let it run it's course. Might take 5-10 minutes so I'd leave it plugged in and charging if you are below 50-60% battery. Then just boot into GPE+, do a quick setup and leave it as a basic installation. That way you can keep your Carbon Rom installation with all of the data and apps, and just pick that every time you boot your phone. Plus it's easier than messing around with different kernels on Carbon trying to find one to make it work and you have a fallback stock rom in case an update or something messes up Carbon. That's exactly what I did with MIUI and InsertCoin.

Yeah, that happens sometimes with mine. Not all the time though, mainly when I'm streaming music in Spotify or Pandora, or if I've been on it for 10-15 minutes on Twitter, email, etc. Sometimes when installing a rom and first booting it, it gets upwards of 50C but cools down after I let it sit for a little while. Also, just throwing it out there because I love the app, if you have $7 you're willing to spend MyBackup Pro is fantastic for backing up everything if you change the rom you use the most. Like data, apps with the app data (not every app backs up the data though) and just like everything else. There's also a free one if you don't care about app data which I'd actually recommend trying that out first. Spares a hell of a lot of time for downloading apps every time. I promise I am no way affiliated with them, like I really feel bad "advertising" them even though I'm not. It's just my favorite backup app xD. Titanium backup is another good one but I haven't used it's backup stuff. Mods you can feel free to edit this if you don't see it fit.
