Flashed resurrection remix and installed the Google camera app. I think it may not be as good as the Oneplus camera app. I'd like to install it if possible.

Here is a link to the ported OOS camera app. I have used it with custom roms (7.1.1). It is not exactly identical to the stock camera but it is close. When it comes to quality, nothing beats the stock OOS cam on the stock rom/stock-based roms.

Shoot. Is it really that much better on stock OOS? I had the phone for a very short period of time before rooting and custom ROM.
Maybe I ought to go back. Most of the features in RR I'm not using. And a better camera is always more welcome.
Did you flash this dirty? Really need to reset?

For nougat, you can simply install the apk files like any regular app. I am not a photography expert or anything. I am just a regular point-n-shoot guy but I feel that the camera in stock OOS is definitely better. If you don't want to be on stock then you can try FreedomOS. It is basically the stock rom but with more features and some customization.

I am using FreedomOS with ElementalX kernel and it gives great performance and battery life besides other benefits of stock.

I think it's MILES better on stock versus something like CM/Lineage/RR. For one, the video cameras stutter a ton. You also lose 60fps video. The photos are honestly comparable, but the unusable video absolutely kills it. Furthermore, the camera works much better in 3rd party apps like Snapchat/Instagram. I don't really mind OxygenOS honestly. It's close enough to AOSP IMO, and once I got a blacked out Substratum theme on it, 99% of the UI is exactly how I had it on CM previously anyway.

I know, there are always problems with the cam in 4.4.2 - unfortunely.
But meanwhile I need a full working cam, so which custom-roms are highly recommend?
Thanx in advance.
PS: I'm well aware that I have to install a version lower than 4.4.2
I have 6 different cameras that work great on rooted 4.4.2 but it is still locked AT&T I-537 so not a complete custom ROM
Including: Stock Android camera, S4 GPe camera, Cymera, Focal and Google Camera. All are free. What doesn't work on yours?
Often the pictures are very overexposed. I can see it in the cam-modus. If I restart the camapp, it is normal exposed.

Would be glad to hear answer to this. Or is it just that every custom ROM (4.4.2) has this problem?
I'm really waiting forward to have KitKat in my S4 Active (nordic countries), as now I can't use for example Polar's sport applications with my official 4.2.*
You can't expect too much from this camera. It will do decent pics, but not more. Which is just fine by my standards.
Stock 4.2.2 camera works best overall, both with photos and videos. For other ROMs (4.3 and 4.4), photos are ok, but the video side has always been poor, regardless of the app or ROM used. Especially the sound volume, which is way too low, really frustrating.
Maybe things will improve with official 4.4.2 and hopefully ROM developers will manage to catch up with Touchwiz when it comes to the camera.
It shouldn't be long now.

I'm now testing unofficial CM11 for SGS4A. I agree - doing decent pics would be just fine, IF camera wouldn't freeze after changing the settings Well, waiting...

I use @spegelius's CM11 build from 03.05 and it's all I need. The only freeze/crash events occur when trying to shoot the first pic after switching to and from HDR. After that it works smooth, although HDR is not really important to me. The other thing is the first film you try to record when switching from 1080p to 720p, which comes out unviewable. I couldn't find any other flaw with the rest of the functions.
The 03.05 is the build you need, if you don't use it already.

Just wondering what everyone's opinions are on what camera is better:
Stock Sony Camera, or the Cyanogenmod 12.1 Camera.
Thinking of switching back to cyanogen but would still like a good camera to use.
Dude, stock camera beats the cyanogen's cam because cyanogen doesn't have the implementation yet, resulting in a fish eye effect. Also stock has the slow-mo recording. But if you think of the battery life, customization and ownage of your phone, then I suggest give cyanogen a try. I sticked with stock rom for a long while but then I started using cyanogen, no regrets, even with the fish eye camera! You can pm me if you got other questions. I'm using 5.5.9 Resurrection Remix.

Can you use Stock camera on CM?

You can use a ported app but as it has something to do with the software of the cm roms so, you'll still have the fish eye effect. Also no slow-mo i guess...
So how is the snapchat performance on the 3T? I remember it being EXTREMELY laggy on the OP3 except when on a CM rom.
Pretty fluent.
It was on the 3 laggy, but this is fixed since OOS 3.5 I think. on the 3T there is no problem at all
Quality is good, no issues with UI lag or anything.

Hi. Can someone post a few photos taken with sc and with stock camera app?
Also, if you're willing to do so, can u take the pictures in both good and bad lightning conditions?
Wanna compare op3t snapchat performance with my iph6
Hi,
is anyone able to make a flashable .zip of the oxygen camera app for cm13/14?
Or won't the app work on cm?
Thx a lot!

It won't work on CM because of a lot of private not open source code that oneplus put into making the camera work. That's one of the limitations of third party roms on this phone or the op3, being that the camera quality isn't the same as on OOS. Google oneplus camera blobs for more info on this.

hows the cam quality
I have been using CM13 and CM14. I am now going back to OOS because you loose a good amount of low light noise cleanup. and you don't get EIS2.0 and Optical Image Stabilisation combined. which is what EIS2.0 is Electronic and Optical combined. Anywhoooo. yeah and the CM snap cam isn't bad......but in low light the camera creates a lot of noise....but w/ OOS camera it can clean that noise up pretty good....I was going to get the pixel where they barely have to clean up any noise and the noise they have is fixed w/ a really good HDR+ mode....but I'm not about to pay over 800 for the 128 Pixel XL.....hence why i got the OnePlus3T. So if you really want good low light stick w/ OOS......CM13 Snap cam isn't horrible.....but it's not as good as OOS's camera app because of the noise reduction blobs stuff (which OnePlus and snapdragon prob wrote to fully utilize EIS2.0 that works really well w/ snapdragon 821 and they know exactly what kinda noise the cheaper camera sensor produces. Snap Camera only fixes generic noise..not noise specific to the oneplus 3t's camera sensor)
Long story short....if you want the best image from this phone...stay on OOS. but isn't freedomOS OOS but w/ more features....I hope so because I would like to have more features built in vs using xposed. and I hate the recents button placement on OOS...with a passion.
I installed the apks provided here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/themes/port-oxygenos-stock-camera-cm-t3451721 on my 1+3T running Resurrected CM14 based ROM and it works like a charm. Just install the apks from under "NOUGAT ROMS." Do NOT flash the zip as they will bootloop your phone. Pretty sure quality is not as good as the stock or latest OOS but gets the job done and RR is too good to pass up for me
Hey guys... So, I just installed the GSI of Bootleggers Rom... The rom is great, very smooth and snappy, much better than stock plus it has a lot of features. The only problem, and arguably the biggest one, is that the stock Camera App doesn't use the second camera so there's no Live Bokeh mode. Is there a way to install all the libs and stuff to get the app to work properly?

I don't think we can. Without any Camera HAL source we can't do that. I think so. May be i am wrong
