Hej guys. I really hope that you can help me with my problem
Have been trying for 2 days and looking at post but haven't been able to get it fixed.
Here goes.
I have been playing around with custom roms on my htc one for a while now.
Then when i was about to install a new custom rom, i first wiped my phone.
I properly wiped something that should not be wiped, because i ended up with no os and no custom rom zip file that i could install in twrp.
I then tryed sideloading revolutions, and it seemed to work because it ended up booting on the phone and i could select what programs too install with it... but halfway through it stoped and rebooted.
now i cant even get into recovery anymore, and booting the phone only gets it to htc briliant logo. Then it restarts and tryes going into recovery, but it cant, and ends up just restarting over and over again.
Tryed flashing cwm and twrp again, but still cant get into recovery.
adb dont fint my device, and i have tryed all drivers i could find.
Tryed using a RUU, but it fails. Properly because its not the right one, but cant fint one that fits.
Sooo... i think im in a real pickle right now.
my radio is :4a.14.3250.13
hboot: 1.44.0000
Thinking about going back with my phone, but with the warranty gone i dont know if they'll even look at it.
Hoping for some advise, or some ideas on what to do.

Well, im really just trying to get an os flashed back on the phone so i can boot it, either by another custom rom or a stock rom.
But since i cant use adb commands, how do i get a new rom on there?

So I'll try here first. I am having the same issue, I can't get the device to boot into recovery, no matter if I clear the cache, or flash either one of twrp or CWM.
I unlocked the bootloader, I think used the all in one toolkit to flash the recovery. When that didn't work, I erased the cache and manually flashed the recovery, and it said it pushed successfully.
I am at a loss, I have no idea what to try next, any help would be appreciated.
******Finally got it, I had to disable Fast Boot in the Power options in Settings******
How do you copy update.zip from external to internal SD?
Sorry if it's a total no-brainer, but how do I manually copy a recovery zip to the internal update.zip? Can I do this from my phone (which is stuck in a bootloop: see below)? Or do I have to use ADB with my computer?

My situation:
Using Open Recovery I tried to install CM7 with custom kernel on my XT720
It gave an error: "assert failed: write_raw_image... Status 7" As I was looking that up, my phone blackscreened. After a while I pulled the battery.
Then on startup it went into a bootloop after a picture of a broken screen saying "2ndboot kernel restart in progress." (Presumably the kernel wasn't properly applied?)
Trying to boot into bootloader says battery is too low.
Phone will only turn on when plugged into outlet.
What I think I need to do:
- Copy a good update from my external SD over the bad update.zip on the internal SD, and apply the update to reset the kernel, etc.
- Open Recovery could do this, if I could load it.
- I could load Openrecovery if I could get the bootloader to run,
- I could get the bootloader to run if my battery would charge
Hey guys, long time lurker and now first time poster. Shame it has to be something very stupid.
So anyways, I wanted to flash the latest CM10.2 Unofficial build so I did the usual and downloaded the zip & gapps to my phone. But upon wiping my phone via TWRP I accidentally left the wipe userdata part checked and ... well now I have no OS installed as well as no zip's :/
I have TWRP installed so I thought why not sideload it, however when I go to advanced -> adb sideload it never starts up. This is the log:
Updating partition details...
Starting ADB sideload feature...

And it just stays there
I know that my ADB works as I have S-OFF & unlocked the bootloader and flashed the latest 1.54.0000 hboot so I can definitely use it, I just don't understand why it doesn't let me sideload for some reason.
Either way, I have full access to fastboot & TWRP recovery so i'm hoping this is a pretty simple thing to fix ... right?
Can anybody point me to the right direction?
Details:
No OS installed.
Access to TWRP & fastboot.
S-OFF, Modified Hboot 1.54.0000 (SuperCID) & Unlocked bootloader.
Windows 8 64-bit, drivers all work.
Latest SDK with all the binaries installed.
P.S. when I connect and try and use adb devices it doesn't recognise my device, and the cmd window gives the following when I try the sideload command:
Error: device not found.

Sounds like a driver issue to me but it doesn't make sense that the drivers would suddenly stop working ???
Here are screenshots of odd device behaviour when switching from fastboot to recovery (please copy & paste, I don't have enough posts to post images yet):

Bump for help
I can't seem to get sideload to work in TWRP at the moment either. CWM works fine though, try flashing that and use the sideload feature.

Tried that already, same issue in not detecting the device. I'm downloading these drivers in a hope to fix something.
Thanks for the reply
EDIT:
Finally got sideloading in TWRP to work, it turns out it was a driver issue :/
Anyways, these are the drivers that worked:
androidfiles.org/hasoon2000/getdownload.php?file=HTC%20Drivers/HTCDriver.exe
why is everyone always wiping their storage these days? just use CWM next time and you wont accidentally do this again..

TWRP is much better for people who know what they are doing. There are more options and also a built in file manager. Also, the wipe button in TWRP wipes the 3 main partitions at once (data/cache/dalvik), so he must have actually selected internal sdcard from the advanced menu, and I have no idea why he would do that...
Doing the slider is all anyone needs to do in twrp to wipe yet I read more posts about people wiping with twrp than any other problem in these forums
so basically, i wanted to flash pixel experience based on Android 10, unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP with adb etc.. but.. i forgot 1 important thing, back up before wiping and reboot, now im in boot cycle and no OS installed on my device, i tried sideloading with adb, tried adb push too, havent tried mount OTG since i dont have cable for it, when i try to sideload, it only goes up to 46-47% at most. and i tried doing both things in CMD and power shell, same results for sideload, i tried push, it says successful, but cant see the zip folder on the directory i put it, so, any advice for it? its my only phone so yeah.. i did goof, plus the current pandemic. no work so no money to spend to another device and ofcourse lockdown, so any replies would be appreciated! Thanks in advance, best regards to all.

In the error shown by miflash it's refering another directory. So close miflash and try to select the present location. If same scenario repeats, then unzip again and try in C drive freshly.

Hopefully you've restored the phone again now.
Have a look at my guide for flashing ROMs on this phone.

This should help you get up and running with a custom ROM.

That answer isn't going to get you anywhere. Before you ask someone to write YOU a really detailed walkthrough because YOU aren't willing to search . . . How about you lay out exactly what you've done and exactly what's happening when you try to boot?
The first one to answwer your Q was helping you, in that they wondered what happens when you run that command through FASTBOOT. That is the exact command you would run to flash your TWRP.img
So . . .

Fixed (But as an aside: isn't the command Fastboot, but the shell ADB?I haven't looked it all up in a while.
flashing twrp it says invalid partition name recovery failed
To let everyone know you cannot install twrp you can only do a boot to it through fastboot. they have it security blocked on the z3 play so it cant be installed yet. but if you do want a differnt recovery for it use magisk i have it installed on mine and it works great.

So question, I'm currently trying to boot into TWRP, however when I send the command "./fastboot boot twrp-3.5.0_9-0-beckham.img" it basically just sits there, it says sending boot.img but nothing happens. I've let it sit there for a while and nothing still. thanks
UPDATE: used a different computer and it worked perfectly my guess the USB port had some issue

Yeah that would have a lot to do with the issues that you were having I have been using a usb 3.0 port on a laptop and haven't seen any issues with it. Also I have installed the new ASOP Pixelrom and is a awsome rom if i were you i would give it a try.

Anyone here that is running a custom rom wanting a custom boot logo let know I'm gonna attempt to make some and I am looking for some ideas. also to let everyone know the custom logo gets rid of the pesky boot locked screen.

You cant flash recovery on Z3 not just because of security but there's no recovery partition.

TWRP won't see it if it doesn't download properly. I would suggest downloading it to your PC and transferring the rom to your device.

Yes ok. Thanks
I have the same file.
Boot recovery works.
Ok to flash recovery ?
Have you read the instructions? You do not flash the recovery, you use the ADB command to boot into it and then flash your rom. The rom will permanently install TWRP.
