I have somehow disabled the Google Search Bar from the home screen of the Oneplus 3t. I am using the oneplus launcher. When I hold down the screen and bring up the customise option, I only have the option for Gestures and Icons. There is no option for the search bar.
Can anyone tell me, how to enable this option again?
Thanks

I think it's not you, but the Oxygen OS update. I think they removed the permanant search bar ... :/
Ah OK. I was unware of this? When did this update happen? I got my phone 2 weeks ago.

they did it in the nougat update..
I must not have had it enabled then as my phone updated to nougat as soon as I got it. The only customisation I have now is with the gestures and icons. There are no other sections to choose from.
Google Search Bar
It is now a widget.
Thanks. I see it now.

If you on Pie and using navbar you cannot hide it anymore.
Samsung has taken that option away.
You have to basically use the swipe gestures.
However if you use, certain apps like
eg
Shortcutter Quick Settings (Play Store)
I just tested it now, yes then you can hide navbar.
or maybe some Bixby remapper can do it.?
I however use the swipe actions .
Takes a bit, to get use to it,
but i now prefer swipe to navbar, as it seems pretty obvious
Samsung is "forcing" you to opt for
swipe.?
I've got a feeling that Samsung will drop navbar all together for swipe. (at some stage. or later ?)
Good luck.

I discovered that too recently. But the swipe gesture navigation is actually not that bad.
i recently got a note 9 and i was wondering where that silder / bar on the homescreen went
its hard to describe and i think it was removed after the pie update, but maybe someone knows if there is still an option to enable it (see attachment for visuals)

I believe its samsung pay. Download it should be there already and open it. You might have to go into settings to enable that bar back.

I updated my phone today but the option for the gesture navigation option stays grey and I can't get into the menu. I want to use this nice looking and smoothly working Google bar that I've seen in the beta one ui 2.0 Videos. Is it just for me like this or are there more people with the same problem... Really don't want to reset my phone. I already reseted my settings
It freezes right? Its still updating. After a reboots ita back to normal

Select full screen gestures (the second option of your screenshot) and go on "other options" (the button immediately under it), from here you can choose Google gestures. ?

The more option tab stays grey, I deleted cache and restarted the phone so many time already. Don't know what it is. Before the update I had a lot of unnecessary apps disabled with adhell. After the update my multitasking window wouldn't open no matter what. After uninstalling adhell it worked again. There could be a connection but I don't know which it it
Samsung seems to of broken something there. It is good news for me for whenever my carrier updates my S10+ to Android 10 as I don't like the gesture crap at all.

On Reddit there is and adb command to get it work, but didnt on mine. I used lawnchair, but Samsung one is raster imo.
In Nova Launcher settings there's a message that the new gestures aren't supposed to work with third party launchers, cause Google implemented a barrier for this in Android 10's source code which checks if the launcher is a system.app or not. Maybe it works on rooted phone with systemized Nova.

That’s a shame... Would love to use Google-style gestures with the Rootless Pixel Launcher.

Rooting does nothing. But the new security patch allows for it to work on pixel phones, check xda news, we’ll eventually get it

Got a link? I'm on Lawnchair too.
On Nova's Discord they said that this won't happen on Nova and even with Lawn chair it doesn't work for everyone. We just can hope and wait...but I have to admit that I tried the old and the new gestures for a couple of days but switched back to the classic navbar because it's easier if using just one hand and also when the phone is mounted in my car.
I'm using Nova and it's fine

You could try following the tutorial here:

It seems to work for me, but has to be redone after a reboot...
Unfortunally it's too glitchy!

Gestures as normal work, not the side to side feature which is annoying

Hello, since the android 10 update (ww) the navigation gestures have changed. I seem to have lost the original rog style swipe up from home etc, without any bars etc showing onscreen. Is it the same for everyone?

Yes is same. I like it, but we cannot use it across other launchers
I am using an app called Hide Navigation Bar to hide the white bar, which works great. I tried to use xda's Navigation Gestures for the same purpose but it does not work well in fullscreen landscape game, while Hide Navigation Bar does. That being said, I hope ASUS can implement an official hiding gesture hint feature just like what Samsung does.
I'm using the "adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural" command to re-enable gestures in Nova Launcher, but it's not a perfect solution and resets to standard navigation when the phone reboots.

Many thanks to you both. I'll have a look at those methods, as google's implementation is uuuuugly compared to asus!
Im using these two apps and I can say my experience is even better than what I had on a9 because now I can cboose different options and actions for my gestures
Xda navigation gestures, to hide the navbar (other apps I have tried didnt work) it also has the issue when using the phone in landscape mode the volume control bar goes out of the screen
Fluid navigation gestures, now this app offers everything I could have asked for!

Hi!
I just upgraded to android 11. On Android 10 I used Vivid NG for gestures but because overscan has been disabled on Android 11 it's not working.
Has anyone found a way to get around it? I want to keep using gestures but I don't care for goggles side swipe too go back - it interferes too much with the apps I use

If I change to 3 button the navbar is still visible both in immersive and fullscreen. Also chrome keeps closing a few seconds after opening. I guess I'll just have to do with google's gestures for now ?
Thanks for the help anyway ?

In my thread I have a mod available via substratum to remove/hide 3 button navigation bar. You just need to have a 3rd party gestures app already setup before enabling the overlay. If you don't care to mod the pixel launcher (the purpose of my mod), then just install the apk in the second post and just build the top overlay. The last post on the thread has a picture showing what it is.

I've always had issues with the regular substratum in Android 10 and have since been using Substratum Lite. That's what I recommend my users to use. Give substratum lite a try.
