Hi all guys, I'm using lineageos, flashed a couple days ago with gapps full pack...
I have a question for you: I'd like use google camera but it crashes every time. Do you know if there is something like a fix, or it is a problem with the package? In some posts I read that it's suggested to flash gapps pico, but I fear to flash another time, install and google cam won't work.
Do you have any good advices?
Thanks

Google camera doesn't work properly due to the mixed implementation of the camera HAL by xiaomi. You should use the snap camera that comes with LineageOS, which works well.
If you disable denoise, and set sharpness to 1 the quality is actually quite good.
I do not know of any fix to Google camera, but there's a dedicated thread where different options are being discussed, which might be worth looking into.
Regarding GApps: you can flash them again, and change between different versions when doing so. The installer would check for what's installed already, and switch to wherever you're installing. The aroma package is quite convenient as well, because you can select exactly what you want to install, and enable Pixel luncher and Google assistant directly.

If you are rooted, you can try adding the line below in system/build.prop and then reboot.
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1

Thanks for the tip with the armoa package! it helped me with the camera issue.
The only thing worth mentioning is that in order to re-install the stock camera I had to re-install LineageOS, and then install the aroma package without the google camera.
When I tried to only install the gapps without the google camera so I didn't have any camera app at all.
Anyway now it works, thanks again!

Introduction
microG GmsCore is a FLOSS (Free/Libre Open Source Software) framework to allow applications designed for Google Play Services to run on systems, where Play Services is not available. If you use your phone without GAPPS this might become a useful tool for you.
microG GmsCore is one of the two core components of the microG project. His job is to replace the Gapps (you'll continue to use the PlayStore), thus giving you a longer battery life and performance without loss of resources.
This software is not developed by me, I am just sharing a tutorial for it to get things easy
All the credit goes to @MaR-V-iN for developing the app
And @ale5000 for making a flashable zip.
Guide-
1. You must be on a ROM that supports signature-spoofing. For Z00L, the ROMs available that supports signature-spoofing are halogenOS, crDroid and AOSPExtended.
2. There must not be any kind of GApps package installed.
3. Flash these two files-
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=141201
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=143098
4. Enable signature-spoofing in ROM settings for halogenOS and crDroid. (AEx already has enabled signature-spoofing, there will appear a permission-granting dialogue in microG app).
5. Open microG Settings > click on self-check > Give signature-spoofing permission. Rest all of the settings will be enabled automatically.
6. In Google services, enable device registration, GCM and SafetyNet.
7. Enable unifiedNLP settings.
8.Install google contact sync (apk provided in download section). Give both the contact permissions to it.
9. Reboot
10. Enter settings> accounts and add your Google account as usual. You're done!!
(To check if push notifications are working or not, check it with the testing app provided in download section)
Hit Thanks If I Helped.

Good tutorial.. Now i know how to flash microG. But one doubt, the only diff is the absence of play services right? Others things are same gapps? Does microG sync everything, like Google drive , photos, maps etc?

Its completely minimalistic approach for Google services. Amd google contact sync works. Other apps might sync but not surw about them.

And the contact sync apk that came with the zip wasn't working properly so, i installed contact sync adapter apk seperately and it worked. Haven't tried the new version though.

Pure Nexus ver 7.1.2_r17. Beans Gapps 610. I tried to download the Google Camera but unfortunately it isn't listed in Play store. Trying to load it from Mirror APK it tells me that it isn't supported for my device. I have tried a couple of different versions but still the same message. I was wondering if anyone has come across this with this particular ROM. I have searched but can't seem to find anything.
Thanks
Mini or full? Install the full package to get the camera. Also, don't use 6/10 but 5/9. 6/10 has issues.
Try this then, it's the latest Google Camera for N6

Here it is in the play store
Just to clarify for the benefit of the audience, the OP is saying he cannot see the Google Camera in the Play Store. He's right. Google hides the app in the Play Store if it isn't already installed on the device. This is in addition to the requirement that the device be a Nexus or Pixel. Thus, if Google Camera is important to you, and with HDR+ I feel it should be, install the full Banks GApps package instead of the mini package. After doing so, Google Camera should show up on the Play Store again.
Of course, installing the APKMirror copy of Google Camera may also work, but I haven't tried it.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't think of it that way but that makes complete sense. In the future I will install the Full instead of the Mini to avoid this issue. The Mini was install this time around because of issues with the Full version June 10th.
The reason I keep that link is it allows me to use the mini package, when the only additional app I want in the full is the camera. Works every time. Different strokes for different folks ☺
True. The one difference between installing it through the Play Store and installing it using Beans GApps is where the camera gets installed. With Beans GApps the camera is in /system, rather than /data.
I wonder why Beans hasn't done an Aroma installer? It would mean only having to make one package, and would give the end user some control over what apps are installed.

It has something to do with the build script. It's referred to in the current TBO release post.
Having read what you linked to, that seems interesting. I've dabbled with Aroma, and I think the issue boils down to Beans' usage of just an updater binary, like what Chainfire uses in SuperSU.
There are kludgy ways to get around this, but as I install the full package anyway I'm not going to try and find out.
Speaking of GApps, did Beans ever get the issues with the 6/10 package resolved?

From numerous posts referencing Beans and other GApps with much confusion, I think it comes down to Beans using a unified package and script for both arm and arm64 that simplifies things for him (not to mention the less informed user ).
He helped the TBO guys adapt the unified arm/arm64 script and they are abandoning Aroma, so my guess is the two are not compatible.

You can install Google Camera on every ROM by yourself, so you don't have to judge ROMs by this feature
Dirty Unicorns is incredibly stable, it is what I would recommend.
I would recommend OMNI 8.1 as the performance is top notch for this ROM that will help you in gaming. As far as customization is concerned, this gives good amount of customization but not like resurrection remix.
And at last , use Skull shaddy GCam which is readily available without any further fix or setting.

Use OpenGapp ARM64 pico version, as this will give you minimum system apps such as google play store and google. After booting to the system you may install required useful apps such as gmail, youtube, maps etc from playstore. These apps can be easily uninstalled as they are installed as apk files from play store.

Magisk is not specific to a ROM or even device. Current/latest Magisk version marked "stable" is the usual recommendation. Unless you're asking what version number is known working on this particular ROM (question wasn't specific enough to know exactly what you intended).
Use the link given in the previous reply.
Since Sultanxda has now unfortunately changed his smartphone and stopped developing his excellent ROM for the OnePlus, I will have to look for a new ROM. :crying:
With LineAge OS from sultan I never had a problem in the past, absolutely stable, super battery life and never an error, although I always installed all updates without ever reinstalling (only dirty flash).
Now I am looking for a ROM that runs as stable and problem-free as possible and is ideal for daily use.
Updating should also be possible without any problems and no new installations should be necessary, because clean flash takes so much time.
Customization of the ROM is not so important, I don't have to be able to adjust every color of every symbol
I would be very pleased about suggestions!

Hi gFknQ,
As you probably know I am following your posts a little and saw your switch to GZR Gapps which made me curious.
Although I find the package on the internet, I can not find a description of it.
Why your switch to GZR Gapps and do you know any references on the internet about it?
Which GZR Gapps are you using btw, the zero or the nano package?
Zero seems the same as pico for OpenGapps but is much smaller in size.

It's only been tested on US998 ROMs. There's nothing specifically in it for stock ROMs but I haven't used a 9.0 rom. Like how files moved locations from nougat to Oreo, something similar might have happened with pie
There will likely be conflicts if you have either installed via magisks. If you want the other parts of my mod just edit it.

It's the stock Google dialer in the mod. It's better to just edit the preferences in data/data so you can still use all the features like spam stuff.
YouTube Vanced will work with only the official mod or mine. The official one just has more code to determine arm Vs arm 64 vs x86 etc. There's no apk difference.

The dual speaker mod is essentially the same as the one whiskey something made. I just compared his files to the stock one on US998 and made edits. To ensure it worked with us998
I can't guarantee there being non issues with a non stock based kernel. There's support for overclocking in the scripting as well as underclock. But I haven't been on an aosp rom since I had the One M8.

That doesn't make sense. A magisk module is just a zip archive. Extract it like a normal zip. Read over the magisk developer threads to understand how everything works. It's user friendly in my opinion. For basic app adding, removing, file changing all you do is place them in the system folder in the same location they'd be in the rom.
This should help.

Simply deleting the app folder and priv-app folder and (since Google dialer and Vanced where the only ones in there) did the trick rezipped it and flashed in Magisk while having Vanced installed and the modded Google dialer and nothing bad so far...I can upload the edited one if you allow it...

I'd rather other people learn how to do what you just did on their own. Though there's one line of code that may sometimes completely erase the YouTube folder. You really should read the support documentation for magisk. It's very straight forward. The issue is that you had two modules trying to replace the YouTube folder. The mounting of two modules into one location is why YouTube disappeared. Not a bug. It's user error. Lol

Ahhh okay lol I will give it a read, maybe I'll come up with something...
Small update. No noticable difference on the users end. I probably won't post for every update, but I'll update the title of the thread everytime I do.

I flashed the original and I don't see another version of YouTube installed and the one I do have has ads. What am I missing?

See if you have updates to YouTube installed and uninstall them. You can't have any updates over YouTube Vanced because then the modified version won't be loaded. The newer version will

Thank you, that worked. I went to Google Play and "uninstalled" it and it just left the Vanced version. This phone comes with YouTube already installed, so "uninstalling" it just uninstalled the updates -- which then left the stock app which was already overwritten by Vanced.
