It only just updated on my phone.
Say, why can't I see all my apps that I've downloaded when I hit "My Apps" now? I only see the paid ones, it seems.

Same problem here, but it shows the missing apps as "installed " when I search for them like xda. I uninstalled the update and had it pushed again and I saw my apps listed but then it went away after an hour. My brothers nexus s doesn't so that. I wonder what's causing it, but not a big deal for me.

Yeah I'm not sure what's going on... kinda of frustrating not being able to see whether my other apps have updates or not.
I agree, its a documented problem, I'm sure they'll push a fix

my list of apps in the market has been randomly missing a lot of apps for at least a year. "Clear data" restores all the installed apps, but after a while some go missing again. I'm quite surprised that it still happens with the new market.
No new market here, though... still 2.3.6
If you have problems with missing apps try to delete the data in the apps settings. Opening the market again will result in again an acceptation of the terms and your apps will be there again...

I still haven't gotten my market update yet, although I am in Canada.
I wish I had the old market. The new one is sluggish and has a lot of "features" I don't need.
i agree... new market is bloated and sluggish... i liked the functionality of the older market (i can browse a LONG list of top free apps)
So, just flash the old market!!! Its much better than the new one

changelog:
Adds +1 For Apps And Games, Pin Number For Purchases, And More…
there’s a brand-new settings menu, as well as click-to-read explanations of app permissions (not developer customizable, unfortunately). There’s also a brand-new Market icon to spruce things up.
Oh, and did we mention you can now use a custom PIN for purchases on your phone, instead of leaving your Google Checkout wide open for anyone that picks up your device? If you have kids, or your phone is stolen, this is one awesome feature to have – and really, it makes a lot of sense.
Root access is not required, but you’ll need Unknown Sources enabled in the Settings -> Applications menu to install it.
will the market be updated to this anyways? does it show all apps or not?
Eh I don't know don't feel so sure about This.

After screwing around with the new apk for 15 mins, it seems the missing apps problem may be fixed. I am currently holding my breath though...
Edit - immediately after making this post the problem returned. I can stop holding my breath now.
just installed. Seems ok.
How do I install? -1.bin , right?

lol you guys think i would really post a virus or something. i found it. if you dont believe its true google android market 3.1.3. and yes the missing apps thing is there still. i use titanium backup. market doctor feature to fix that tho
For some reason this market is showing all apps for me that I've installed from Amazon store as if they need updating. When I yet updating them, it fails but still shows as if needing to be updated. That's annoying.

yea no kidding. if you have titanium backup you can detach those apps from the market so they wont show updating. those are apps from the amazon app store i think, love the +1 feature

What is a +1 feature? Can't figure it out..
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Moved to apps..........
+1 is a new google plus feature. if you go into the market and look at an app it will have the option to +1 it which is equivalent to liking a status on facebook. you can +1 websites and links. and all the links you've +1's can be viewed on your google plus
Market updates
Any ideas as to why the android market is not retrievable from the android market...other than the recursive need for the market in the first place
Loving the pin security, thanks for this.
I have no idea how to install this

Wife just got a message in her notifications that a new app was released. Click it and took me to market for a Task Killer.
Don't like this one bit. Using CM7
Swyped from my Nexus One
Possibly a notification from an existing app, the developer of which used to notify you of his/her new app.
Check who the dev of the Task Killer is and see if matches any of the apps already on the phone
That's from apps using Airpush adds. Go to the market and download Airpush Detector. It'll tell you which app is doing it, then you can uninstall the bugger!

Cool...thanks..will try that.
Thanks Directional! Those ads were getting annoying :/
Didn't find any offending apps. I should have paid more attention to the ad. Oh well...when/if it comes back...

There's a similar thread over at the Asus Transformer forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1314702
Even the developer for Mobo Task Killer stop by the thread but it seems no one can figure out who's pushing the ad. Like here AirPush Detector is coming up empty.
Or you could look at your recently installed apps....I know a lot of apps/developers that do it. Usually they're free versions of games that do it, and I've also seen products from the GO developers that like to advertise their apps whenever they get the chance. Some apps will let you turn off all notifications as well...if you go to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications-> and look at the Downloaded tab, you can scroll through and see what app may be doing it
Seems like it's an app call "First Aid" doing this. You have anything like that install?

Thanks for the heads-up. Got my first notification spam today. I had this app installed. Note emphasis on "had"; it's gone now. Left a 1-star review and comment before uninstalling.
I started getting these ads and found this thread. I had installed Go Launcher (someone mentioned Go apps, above). If I uninstall the app do the notifications go with it? I'm hoping it hasn't installed some malware-esque thing on my phone.
*edit* I used the ad detector app and found out it was, in fact, a Go Launcher theme.
I've been getting stupid pop up ads on my phone for the last week or so. I read that on 4.2+ I can long press on the ad and it'll tell me which app is causing this but it's not working for me. I'm using Dodol launcher; could that be why? I've also tried TrustGo Ad Detector and it doesn't tell me squat. How do I find out exactly which app is causing these ads so I can get rid of it?

Is there anything in the notification window when these ads popup? Do you have a screen shot?
I ask because there seems to be two different kinds of ads: those who have a notification and those who don't. With the first kind, you can just do what you said and kill the app's notifications. If it's the second kind, you will have to uninstall anything that may be causing it until it goes away.
My wife used my old S3 for a while and was plagued by this problem. I had never seen it before, but she had a few shopping apps that I don't use.
Sent from my GS5
There's nothing in the notification bar. The really sucky part is that I downloaded quite a few new apps and now I have to get rid off most of them just to be sure.

Maybe u should post a list of the apps u downloaded, so someone can look into them n find out which one is plagguing ur phone

Hello all,
Back in KitKat (I think), google's default app for phone/contacts had the option to only display contacts with numbers. (great idea!)
For reasons beyond anything I can imagine, they stupidly removed this feature. (Horribly stupid idea...sigh)
Is it possible to run the older phone app/contacts app on newer roms? 7.0?
I like the stock app. Fantastic app, excepting for the horrible stupid decision to break needed functionality by Google.
Thoughts? Options? Ideas?
Thanks!
Just a thought you could find the apk from KitKat and then install that. If it works. Use something like titanium backup and long press on the app from within TB and select remove market link. This should prevent the app from auto updating. Haven't tried it but i agree. The contact with phone numbers only was great.

Thanks for the direction. I'm a technical user, so I can chase this down. Why would they remove it?
