Hello. I am looking at Lenovo Zuk Z2 pro, as I am sick and tired of Sony being unfriendly to development community: their continuous mantra with dumbed down blobs and crappy camera.
One question: are all Z2s bootloaders unlockable? In other words, I don't want to have a phone with bootloader status unlock allowed - no.
Thanks in advance

There is a detailed writeup of a successful bootloader unlock of Motorola MSM8960 phones, exploiting a vulnerability in the Motorola TrustZone kernel:
http://blog.azimuthsecurity.com/2013/04/unlocking-motorola-bootloader.html
Since TrustZone appears to be an ARM / Qualcomm technology, would it be possible to use this same or similar exploit to unlock the bootloaders on the Sony Xperia T and V?
I don't know enough about boatloaders etc. To give an informed answer, but I would personally lean towards no because I am unaware of the Xperia devices using these software fuses. Furthermore, I'm relatively certain that the kernels will be different between Sony and Motorola devices. I'm not saying there's no chance of it working, but then again I'm not saying it will work either.
I'd be interested to hear what the devs have to say about this though.
Good find nonetheless!

Apparently, no devs are reading the Q&A forum...

Boot loader Unlock and SIM Unlock is controlled by .TA file, People like XperianPro have been trying to unlock the bootloader by flashing a .TA (could hard brick your device, 95% it wont work, 50 it will hard brick device, 100% it will disable radio ( cant call or text ). It worked for one guy
ONE DAY WE CAN UNLOCK ARE BOOTLOADER!

First of all, sorry about my poor English.
There's no Xperia SP forum, so I post here, a Xperia 2013 forum like Xperia SP.
I have a Xperia SP (C5303), and my Bootloader unlock allowed is No. Is there a way to change it to Yes or unlock bootloader this phone?
I am also wondering this. I have reseached this a bit and haven't came accross anything apart SeTools2.
Xperia SP section.
There is no way to unlock a bootloader unofficially for the Z, so I'm willing to bet that the same is true for the SP.
Anyway, go and ask in the SP section. I'm sure someone will know.

As someone stuck with a locked bootloader as neither Sony or O2 can unlock it, I was wondering if there was any way to get that nice system-wide AOSP look on my Xperia T. The selection of actual roms in development for locked bootloaders I could find in the Development section had no actively developed ROMs
I own the Xperia SP since 2013. I recently got a Galaxy S6. The issue with the Xperia SP I had was like many others, even after Carrier Unlock, the bootloader unlocked allowed remained No. Hence I was very limited to the ROMs I can use. We don't even have Lollipop stable enough for daily use. UBL right now has Marshmallow and also Cyanogenmod Nightlies which I would like to try out on my Xperia before I root my Galaxy S6.
So do we have any updates for SP users to be able to unlocked the bootloader? I mean neither Sony nor carriers support the device anymore, they should allow us to play with it now, no?
Please post any updates here
i agree they should tell us how to unlock it as no -one supports it anymore
I read somewhere (i realy dont recall where) that sending your phone to sony so they can unlock the device for you. is possible.....
Any news ?

Surely a lot of guys including me are waiting for Vivo z1 pro development to kick off, but the harsh truth is that currently the future of Vivo z1 pro's android development looks bleak.
Why? you ask.
Because right now Vivo does not support bootloader Unlocking. NO. NIET. NEE. NAHI.
Now, when realme devices were new they were the same, no bootloader unlock support, but there was a demand for it and after sometime they allowed unlocking bootloader.
But surprisingly, I haven't seen a single demand for bootloader Unlocking of Vivo z1 pro neither from the users nor the YouTubers or bloggers.
Check xda for other vivo phones, they all have little or no development, all because of a locked bootloader from vivo.
So guys we need to make some noise to get bootloader unlock support for z1 pro,if we want development for z1 pro.
:good:

I have no idea actually.
But, bombarding tech YouTubers and bloggers with comments related to this and asking them to make some noise may help and might be a good place to start.

Tell me how can I help you guys to request vivo to provide bootloader unlock tools??
Guys, there's an option called OEM unlocking in the settings. This allows the bootloader to be unlocked. I hope this is what you are looking for.
