Need help with flashing the Lenovo K3 Note K50-t3s stock ROM. - K3 Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Lenovo K3 Note K50-t3s and I'm in a need of a stock ROM because the ROM that came with is a custom ROM (it's a second-hand phone). I went to this page, https://forum.xda-developers.com/k3-note/general/official-firmware-lenovo-k3-note-direct-t3326424 and downloaded the latest ROM in the "K50-t3s - Full ROM – DEV" part. After downloading, I went to extract it. But as soon as my 7-Zip shows the .zip's contents, it looks like it's an OTA update package, crud...I thought it was meant to be flashed through SP Flash Tool. I then copied the package to the internal storage and tried to install it through stock recovery, but it fails. I've tried other ROMs like the K50-T5, but it just leads to the disappearing of the System Update option in Settings > About phone (I believe that is what causing it to disappear). Not yet tried the K50a40, but I'm expecting it will do the same thing to the System Update option. I think by flashing the "real" ROM, then the System Update appears. So, how am I going to use the .zip I've downloaded to restore the phone when it fails through stock recovery and is not flashable through SP Flash Tool? I need at least an answer to "how to use that "failing" OTA package" or "where can I find the SP Flash Tool flashable K50-t3s ROM". Out of all phones I've unbricked, this is the hardest...

P970 can't install anything?

Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a P970 through the Koodo network. I used smartflash, rom converter 2.0, etc. to root the phone.
I booted my phone, superuser was installed. Everything works well, however, if I go to Google Play store to install any app, the phone freezes and I have to take the battery out to get it started again or the phone will just reboot as soon as it tries to install it. I tried downloading the apk and uploading it to the phone and installing it with superuser but it does the same thing.
I reinstalled everything twice now and it still does the same thing. I've read around the website but can't find any answer. Can anyone help please?
Try to flash another rom.
The phone came with V20j. There's a Telus rom that's V20i. It's ok to try that one?

I meen that you can try to flash a custom rom like zeus.
I can't download rom manager or anything like that without it rebooting.
I followed these instructions found on this site:
1. Get original Koodo firmware
2. Extract BIN/FLS with LGExtract.exe
3. Patch in CWM image with Linux DD (I used p970 rom converter 2.0 to do the extract and CWM image)
4. Flash with SmartFlashTool
The only apps that came with the superuser was anreboot and es file explorer
Can I just flash a rom like zeus with the rom conerter 2.0?
You have CWM,right? If not, try cwm flasher by redy in Development sector
When the phone is restarting at LG logo, press Volume Down to Recovery.
If u not have e/g-recovery, power off and try to press Power button and Volume down in the same time
And u can wipe all data or flash any custom rom
Already U know about CWM and injecting root
So, just download Gingerbread V20S Rooted .bin and .fls files from google
And flash with Smart Flash tool
Or else, U can try Zeus (excellent ROM) with (if u have to install Zeus, U should have some ROM installed with root and ROM manager)
If now ur phone has root option, just install ROM manager (download separately ROM manager and install)
Even if yours is not rooted, basic features of ROM manager will work for Reboot into Recovery, so that you can flash the zip file of Zeus ROM (try to install latest is 6.39n and its update file)
If unable to install just Factory Reset, even that is not working..
Try to open the settings of Play Google and clear all the cache or history u can find and restart the phone..
Try the Zeus ROM, amazing ROM and No. 1 now..
Press THANKS if I helped you
Hi there,
darrenp76, I too had just rooted my own LG P970 (my carrier is also Koodo). I used a different method to root my phone, but the result was a success.
I found myself in the same situation as you; every time I tried to download an app, the download would complete but then the phone would hang on when the installation portion began. The phone would power off, and boot back up.
I have solved this issue by doing the following:
1) Go to Settings
2) Go to Privacy
3) Select "Factor data reset"
4) Reset phone. I did NOT check off "Erase SD card"
My phone restarted, I saw the ClockWorkMod screen, then my phone continued to restart normally.
I was then prompted with LG's little tutorial, and I entered my gmail information when prompted.
I was then able to access the Market - which updated to the Play store. I was able to keep Superuser on my phone, but I lost the 2 applications that were automatically installed when I rooted my phone (one was a file browser and the other was some sort of restart.) I did not have these programs installed for very long because I reset my phone shortly after rooting, and so I wasn't able to familiarize myself with those 2 apps, and I don't remember the names of them.
Anyways, I really hope that this helps you. Having been through the situation myself, I was very worried, but the factory reset seems to have fixed this issue.

[HELP]Xperia SP stuck in cyanogenmod logo after update

Hello,
I flashed CM11 yesterday and everything went alright. This morning I noticed I had an update for it and proceed to do it.
After the instalation and optimizing all apps it asked me for my simcard PIN and after I unlocked the phone it just went back to the cyanogenmod logo over and over.
I tried to reboot phone but it didn't help.
I've tried to search for similar threads but since i'm a newbie (first time I ever flashed anything) to this I decided to create this thread.
What should I do?
Thank you!
try to use flashtool. google it on how to use flashtool or check other threads.
So I guess i have to flash a stock ROM with flashtool and do it all over again right?
And btw, any reason you guys might think It got stuck in bootloop after I updated CM11? I came from a fresh stock rom. I'm kinda scared it might happen again after the reinstall.
Can't you enter recovery to flash a nandroid backup? (If you have one)
If not, you have two options to choose from.
Fastboot or flash a kernel with CWM or TWRP.
ADB push a zip file of a ROM and flash that.
Flash an FTF file using flashtool and start all over again.
There are many reasons why you're stuck in bootloop at the moment.
With the info you provided, there's no way of telling what caused it for you.
Well, i flashed stock ROM with flashtool, installed CM11 and I had no problems.
Went to settings and OTA update was available. Downloaded it and installed it, stuck in loopboot again. I just can't figure out what's wrong. My phone has bootload unlocked.
Might just do it all over and not update, is that a problem?
Don't use OTA, just download and flash updates manually using recovery.
In the future, for your ease, if this happens again just wipe the phone very clean (cache, /system, /data etc except /boot) and then re-flash the CM zip that you have.
It is a good practise if you make a nandroid backup before flashing a newer version of zip, in case of breaks. Or, you can have Titanium Backup to backup your apps automatically (pro version) everyday, so that you can be ready if there will be something bad happen.

Huawei P7, bricked, somehow restored, further assistance

Hello all my fellow Huawei P7 users. Last week, I finally decided to update my Huawei from EMUI 2.3 (B136) to "next level". For some reason, when I tried to download the rom through Updater, error was reported. something with "checksums". So I download rom, and tried "local update"... and it's gone (TWRP was installed, don't know if this could be reason). So yeah, our beloved bootloop became my second friend. So I tried to restore stock rom, with stock recovery 3.0, extracted from updater.app, recovery.img and boot.img, created dload on sd, started procedure, "Verifying install package" and at some point just "FAIL". Tried even with the first stock ROM (Because in manual there was no "previous versions") still got "FAIL". Tried to install "MyRom 1.2", again bootloop, as far I concerned it's because I don't have "stock rom". So I tried, X-Rom. and you know what, it worked without any problems. Even though I like it, I still want back to stock ROM. So I want to ask you my dear friend. how I can get back my stock ROM? If I again try "very first stock rom" and it will "FAIL", is there anything else I can to do bring back my stock? Or maybe someone knows, why it "fails" to verify package

If I'm getting this right, you're currently on EMUI 2.3. If that's true, you'll need older version of TWRP like 2.8.1.0 for EMUI 2.3. Once in recovery you need to wipe ALL DATA by confirming YES. Once everything deleted you'll be able to flash stock recovery and force-update the stock ROM (EMUI 2.3). I had a similar problem until I realised that I was using wrong version of TWRP.

Any clean (or stock) MI 3 roms? Can't find original!

I have a Mi3, I bought it used off someone a while back and it came with a dirty unicorns rom on it. I eventually switched to CM13, which I've had until today. I've decided to try Pokemon Go again, I stopped when it booted out rooted users back in September. I've unrooted on CM13, but it still rejected my login, so I guess I have to find a clean stock rom somewhere, but I have no idea what the stock rom is.
Googling just brings me to the miui page, and I've downloaded the miui 8.2 (something) for the mi3, but CWM gives me a 'status 0' error. Not sure why, but yea. As of right now I'm on a 7.1 aosp, but it's pre rooted, and removing the root still doesn't allow me to play the damn game. I'm assuming clean rom, stock kernal, please point me in the right direction.
Thanks :]
Hallo. I'm not sure if this is your situation but just this morning I had to go back to MIUI on my Mi3w, after a bad ROM flashing.
All I've done was:
1) install MiFlash tool on my PC (windows 7)
2) search for a Fastboot ROM for Mi3 (I found a 6.6.23 one via Google, was in tar.gz format)
3) unzip & untar Fastboot ROM file
4) with MiFlash I flashed Fastboot ROM (some notes in http://xiaomiadvices.com/miui-7-flash-fastboot-rom-on-xiaomi-phones-using-mi-flash-tool/)
5) after ROM install I decided to use a stable one, so I updated 6.6.23 to last stable ROM (8.2.1.0). I downloaded stable ROM zip on my PC, transfered it to Mi3w (creating a dir called 'downloaded_rom') and installed via 'Updater' app

Awesome you solved my issue! I tried the fastboot method after your post, but I was getting an error about partitioning. Looked up the error and found someone with a fix, and now I've managed to flash miui 6. Updating it through the OS now.
Thank you :]

Didn't you choose a right ROM from miui 8?

Updating Modem/Bootloader

Hello,
my Note8 is still on 7.1.1 (IronMan Rom) and I want to update it to Hadesrom with Pie.
I asked in the thread if I can update without problems and they said to me that I have to update my modem/bootloader
So I downloaded the files (which are tar.md5 files ofc) and I read that I have to flash them with Odin
But the USB Port is nearly broken, it charges over it occasionally so that I charge it over Qi.
After googlin' i saw that I can flash it with Flashfire, after getting it runnin (changed date) I dont know how to go any further
Just put them on my phone and let it go? Is it safe to do so? Or can i flash it with TWRP?
Only used LG before, updating them was SO much easier than Samsung.
Thank you already!!
you have to upgrade TWRP to 3.2.3.0 (via twrp if you already have it from microsd card) then install rom and make sure you mark to update bootloader and modem in AROMA durning installing the rom
Thats it?
So I dont have to Update it before flashing?
