Please i wanted to upgrade my ZTE v995 phone from version 4.0.4 to 5.0.1 , i couldn't do that so someone refer me to this site, please little help here.

I have LG optimus model no -LG-P990 with kernel version 2.6.32.9 . I need to upgrade to any Android above 2.3 as my whatsapp won't be supported after 31st december, Can someone please help me . I have never done a ROM upgrade before. Can some one share step by step procedure to do that . It will be really helpful
