k50-t5 soft bricked unknown device - K3 Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
i have bricked the phone. i flashed nougat 7.1.1 it and saw that it doesnt have my IMEIs so i used chamelephon to fix them , which usually worked on other roms i used but with this one didnt. and then the problems started. i went back to flash again the rom. i formated all system, data, everything and then tried to copy the rom in to the phone but windows dont recongize it anymore. cant install drivers , its unknown device and cant connect the phone to windows to copy the rom. tried sideload but windows does not recongnize a device. cant sp flash it also because when power off and turn it on ,still cant recognize it ... any help ?

fixed it . it had to do with drivers of windows mixed up. i cleaned them and then it got working again.

How u fixed it bro ?

when you install too much drivers some times it does some sh't. so power off the comp not restart it. if it doesnt fix it, there is a an app for PC called driver booster. it has the option to clean all the drivers for not plugged in usb devices. you disconnect all and run this . it will clear every driver that is not in use by any usb device. then when you plug in your devices it will recognize them and find the correct drivers without having problem.

[Q] USB device malfunctioned

I don't really know what I messed up but my computer doesn't recognize my phone any more.
After flashing Ultimate 8.2 beta and Ultimate 8.2 it just doesn't work.
What could I have done the mass storage is working with everyone except me.
I included some pictures. I'd appreciate getting helped.

I solved my problem here's the steps.
1. make sure that you have a rom on your sd-card to flash (just in case)
2. do a nandroid backup trough CWM
3. factory reset your phone, reboot
4. uninstall the phones drivers from the computer. unless you have a computer which doesn't have them installed
5. Connect your phone into computer and let it install the sd-card drivers
6. remove the mass storage from your computer safely
7. install the samsung galaxy s drivers for your computer
8. plug your phone into the computer. now it should be recognized and you'll be able to flash to stock if you want via Odin

try uninstalling the drivers for your phone on the pc.
factory reset your phone.
Does it recognise in odin when in download mode?
The same issue. I have Ultibread 1.4 and wanted to flash the JVK but windows keep disabling it. Can't find the device either in normal state or in download state. Odin also didn't recognize it
I'm on win7 x86
Did a factory reset - still the same
I tried different cables and PC's - no luck Anyone !! Any idea?

Didn't help in my case. I did the backup and wipe/factory reset the phone. Enabled the debugging mode, removed kies and all the drivers, rebooted the phone and the pc, connected the phone to pc and had the same message Any idea where I could got it wrong?
P.S. ANd the phone is now extreeeemly laggy and unresponsive
Well this is brilliant! I have made it even worse. I thought thought, that maybe the kernel is the cause of the issue, downloaded the SGS KErnel flasher and flashed the CF-Root-XW_OXX_JV1-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1. After the reboot the phone is stuck at the GalaxyS logo and is not booting. I can get into the recovery and the Download mode but the phone is still not being recognized and when I try now to wipe/data or do a factory reset I get loads of red errors Please tell me that I didn't brick it yet

Do you have a rom on your sd-card? Flash it trough recovery.
Or doesn't recovery even recognize your sd-card?

And I guess that there's no nandroid backup either?
Though they didn't work in my case.

It was in the previous kernel. But in the last one I've flashed there is no restore/backup functionality, although the backup might be actually be on the sd card

Well, there seems to be only a one solution.
You have to uninstall the phones drivers, and install them again.
Then plug your to your computer in download mode and it'll install rest of the drivers.
Then Odin should be able to recognize your phone and your good to flash stock.
But you really, really have to uninstall the drivers
Well I did it before. I uninstalled all related to samsung from the add/remove programs. Rebooted the pc and still getting this error. In the properties of the device in the device manager I have "unknown device". I don't have any drivers on the pc as far as I see. I install the drivers from here. Connect the device again and get the same error

Hmm.. I did change the computer.. Maybe you should put the drivers on a flash drive and go to your friends computer to flash.
The thing is that he does not have the drivers installed before either.
Don't know why it worked for me but... it worked.
I am going to try the last thing - I have a System backup from the time I definitely didn't have them on the PC and see if this helps....
Nope.... Didn't help.... I am completely desperate. Maybe anyone would have another magical solution?
Guys! ANy idea? Plzzzzz. I'd do anything to get it back to life
Me too i get "unknown device" when attached with usb in download mode...ive been trying to get it back workin for a week now...tried everything...which means i can't flash it to gingerbread
Anyone got any ideas ?
I have tried different PC's and it's the same. Is there maybe a way to reset the device somehow?

Hi!
I have a similar problem.
For few days, I cannot connect my SGS to my Notebook.
I have windows 7 x64 installed, and it has never had any problems with connections.
Now, I don't know why, but I cannot connect it.
I tried to connect it to another computer, which has windows 7 x86.
And it was succesfull!
Now, it seems, that I don't have a hardware issue, but I cannot imagne, how I could solve this problem.
I already tried these:
- remove drivers/programs
- tried other USB slots
- downloaded newer USB driver for x64
- removed USB drivers (all of them)
- unplugged my notebook for over 5 minutes (also removed the battery)
Every time I plug my SGS to my PC only this message appears:
"unknown device" - or something similar, because I have a hungarian windows 7.
Sorry about my english.
Has anyone any idea?
Thx for advance

I had that problem erlier. I didn't have a Windows-machine at home to use KIES and Odin with, use Linux normaly so I took a older computer and installed Windows at it to flash my beloved SGS.
But that computer didn't recognized my phone i Download mode either, but all other modes worked. After some time I'd saw that the USB ports wasn't Hi-speed. So I tried to put in a PCI card with USB Hi-speed ports and with those it works.
Maybe your USB ports aren't Hi-speed?
Hope this may help.
Thats probabbly it :/
Ill just have to fix my laptop

Windows Not detecting Galaxy S

Guys , all of a sudden Windows 7 has stopped detecting my Galaxy S . I tried reinstalling drivers / tried another cable . Tried usb debugging on/of multiple times , but to no avail . The phone is not even being detected in the Downloading mode via odin .
The phone is however working fine / charging with the cable as well . I am on Galnet MIUI twooey 3 . Can anyone help me out here ?
anyone ? i have been trying for 2 hours now . But to no avail
Check device manager to see if there are any issues with the driver.
Grab an ubuntu live CD, boot it, plug in your phone and run dmesg to see what it says.. You should see information about the device being plugged in (to at least rule out Win7 issues).
No issues found in device manager . I donot have the ubantu cd . Any other fix for this ?
tried formatting the internal sd card but no luck .Tried connecting the phone on a friends laptop , its not connecting their as well
is this problem related to the rom i am using ?
even after a factory reset , windows 7 is not detecting my phone . I need help
The most interesting thing is where ever i insert the usb cable in , windows its not even detecting anything at all . This is really weird , because just a day back everything was working fine .
Download the Ubuntu CD if you don't have it. Another option is to get terminal emulator from the market, then run the dmesg command right after you plug the phone in to see what the phone if doing.
Run the dmesg command via tha terminal app , connected the phone via usb and run the command . It is displaying a long list of things .
its displaying the same list of commands regardless if the usb is connected or not .
Can anyone help me out here ? I still cannot get the phone to be recognized by windows 7 . I have tried multiple original cables .
Only once it appeared in device manager saying unknown device , and further said that its some code 43 problem .
is this some hardware problem ?
I had this problem recently when I flashed cm7. What I did was put my phone in download mode THEN connect it to the pc and the drivers will be installed automatically. Let me know if this works.

Try to connect another PC and see if its detecting or not. If its detecting it is your windows problem. Download usb driver from samfirmware and see..
anyone ?????
I have tried connecting the phone on three different laptops . But none of them is detecting the phone .
I tried connecting it via tha download mode , but neither windows nor odin is detecting the phone ..
i have noticed one thing as well , the usb charging is going slow now as well .
Guys , can i install my jvo rom backup image over this galnet miui ? i am just afraid that if that doesn`t work , then i`ll be stuck with a non functioning phone , as odin is also not detecting the phone as well . And i`ll not be able to flash anything without it :S
suggestions ?
If you have the drivers uninstall them and reboot your pc. Then put your phone in download mode and connect it to the pc with the cable provided. The drivers should install automatically

buddy i just tried this one again . But windows is not detecting the phone in download mode as well
Does windows actually try and instal the drivers?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Nops . Sometimes it just detects the device and says that no driver found . And sometimes nothing happens .
This happens on all the laptops on which i tried . Shows there is something wrong with the phone . Is it the Rom ? or a hardware problem ? . Keep in mind that the phone charges just fine .

try change port usb 2.0 not on usb 3.0, if you are running Windows 8, maybe you should reboot on troubleshoot mode for install drivers unsigned.

[Q] USB Debugging not recognized by PC

I really need some help here since I'm out of ideas.
WHAT LED TO MY PROBLEM:
I have had custom rom with custom kernel and everything on my x8, however one day after i changed SIM, i couldnt see anything in the notification bar which means no battery icon, no clock or anything. i could open it though and it WAS there.
So i restarted the phone again but this time it was bricked.
THE ACTUAL PROBLEM:
I used SEUS to recover the phone to stock and remove the brick however now the usb debugging doesnt work so i cant root my phone.
I go to settings and turn on USB Debugging and when i connect it to my PC, every program that i open says that the phone is connected with USB Debugging off. Restarting the phone didnt fix the problem...
I need help here since i dont want to use the Stock firmware, cuz IT SIMPLY SUCKS. Youtube isnt working and the UI is discusting (if you know what i mean)...
What should i do?
Check out the drivers that if they are installed properly or not....or else try to re-install your phone drivers

I uninstalled SEUS, then i went to device manager and uninstalled the drivers there. I rebooted and then installed drivers through the installer included in flashtool. Then i connected the phone to pc and it said that the ADB interface driver was installed. I opened flashtool but it still says USB Debugging off....
EDIT: Now i disconnected the phone and flashtool got messages saying that the phone is NOW connected in usb debugging mode, also says that busybox is installed.
EDIT 2: Fixed the problem, I had Bluestacks App Player running -.-
