Worth upgrading now ? - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

hello guys.
I am thinking of getting a oneplus 3T this week.
but i want to know if it worths ?
i have a 64 GB / xiaomi mi 5 now.so i have a little doubt.but i really want to get rid of it:silly:
i want pure android ( not skinned like miui ) and a better battery life than mi 5.it will be my first amoled screen experience.
what do you think.
P.S : here in my place : galaxy s7 / oneplus 3t / moto z play / HTC 10 / LG G5 are same price.do you suggest me to get anything else ?
thank you.

If u want pure android experience then oneplus 3t is the best option imo. anyway, if i were you, i would wait for next oneplus, even if price gonna be higher.

I just got the 3t yesterday and I have to say that this phone just flies through everything. The battery life and the fluidity of the phone is just way better than my S7 edge.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk

i have a 6p, and i just ordered the 3t , looking forward to this !
Look at it this way, if you don't like it you can return it within 15 days.

Hello,
I got the one plus 3T for about 2 months. All I can say about this phone is that its fabulous, from the design to performance. No kind of lag, freezes, crashes. The battery is amazing, as well the dash charge which goes from 10% - 100% in 1 H. The metal design and color are also impressive. These 440 euros are the best spent money on a phone ever. The display is also awesome, the difference between S7 edge screen and OP 3T being unnoticeable ( I also have an S7 edge at work and compared them for a long time ). I work in an office the entire day and having the fingerprint in the front is the best thing for me since I can unlock my phone everytime I want without picking it up. The thing that impressed me most is the gestures customization : double tap to wake / double tap to sleep, glance screen, wave hand over the phone to wake up screen when the phone is on the desk, double tap fingerprint button to lock screen ( not sure if I could live without them now on other phone, since I`m a stock kind of guy and dont like to root phones and stuff)
Also, these are my downsides:
- if you like and take a lot of photos in low light, then I suggest you to go for the S7, or better go for moto Z and buy yourself the camera MOD.
- in low temperatures, if your hands are warm, they will sweat on the phone, metal being very cold. Also, the phone is very slippery
Overall my experience is perfect since the phone meets all my needs . The downsides mentioned above are very small for me which I can live with. I`ve seen a lot of people complaining about bugs and stuff, but hey, its their fault because they update it the minute the update comes out and dont wait for people to test it. Also, after each update, you`ll have to recovery clear cache and maybe factory reset if the things go south after the update.
Hope this helps you to pick the phone that fits you

thank you guys.i got one.
and i have to say it's awesome. !!
better screen , sound qaulity , design ..

Just picked up this devices yesterday and I'm loving it. It's so smooth compared to LG G3 what I used until yesterday.

Trust me, @ 440 euros ( or 480 the 128 Gb one ) is the best phone you can buy in 2017 and you`ll love it till the end
They already started launching P10 ( starting from 650 euros ), HTC U ultra ( ~ 700 euro ) and so on. I believe S8 is going to start from 700 euros.
You wont regret buying it.
Enjoy

My opinion is for such price is still a good deal. Watched MWC and I am kind of disappointed with the XZ (Premium is nice, but I expect it to cost around 850 Euros). The G6 looks promising, but the IMX 258 sensors are not much of an upgrade for me (shooting mostly in RAW). The S8 can be a beast if all rumors are true, but again the price is going to be way more than 439/480.
I gave my S7 to my girlfriend and the only thing I miss is the f/1.7, 1.4 um for low light - on the 3T I have to tinker around with the settings to get a good low light shot. However, when there is enough light I really love the more details thanks to higher MP count.

I recommend the most obvious then ...well actually if you want more customizablilty and a strong sturdy phone with exceptional performance for day to day tasks then mi a2 is good...if you want no customized and on disgusting emui but with a siginificantly faster 710 go for it
To be honest...

Well snap636 should be fast enough for normal day use and medium size games and i am talking about battery issue that when battery get to like 4% it take hrs in charging it and i don't think that everytime 4g net + google or games will work up for 6hrs.
The only thing i want is a durable phone with medicore specs to run smoothly

My luck is quite bad with mobiles, zenfone got bricked even after repair some it got bricked again and then purchased honor play then it had screen burn issue so got refund and today honor play price is decreased by 60$ but i don't know to trust honor anymore and all mobiles seems to be concentrating on specs instead of hardware durability.
This phone has NO issues with battery life. The media and the journalists feed us bull**** all the time, they see a number and make an assumption. My phone lasts easily a full day with normal day of use with a lot of calls, a lot of searching on the net and some video watching in the car with some audio book listening. This phone lasts more than my old Samsung s8, than my newer Samsung s9 and on par with my last year mi a1.
Many people already said battery life is good if not greqt., But are afraid to say it is excellent because the tech YouTubers said it's "meh" for some reason, even though many of their phones that they own last less than this one.
This is one of the best phones under 300 and dare I say it comes close to even the bigger budget phones.
The only thing I can't comment on is gaming as I do not play games on my phone. I listed all my activities above you can make your educated guess. I have two phones left right now that I use that is my older Samsung s8 as one of my all time favorite phones, and this one, and I am thinking of getting rid of the s8 as well. The s8 as originally more expensive phone is fluid in terms of UI, better looking to me, better camera hands down, and more powerfull, but to be fair I could not care less about most of the things except I really enjoy the fluid UI Samsung has build in the past years with the S7 s8 and s9, but I am happy with the stock to so whatever.
Go for this phone dude, you won't be sorry in the next 3 years unless you play heavy games (for those I have no clue, you will have to ask some one else).
The only thing I would suggest if you have the budget is go for the 6GB ram version, that will help you last longer with your phone for sure, it's a future proof more than anything else.

Haha, If you don't like poco for the reasons you've posted forget the a2. Screen is a nightmare (compared to other lcd not oled, before some "akhchually" carebear shows up). Bugs talk for themselves. Build quality ok for the price, but it's disgustingly copying the iphone x, or it's just me.

I mean the only key feature that many people think of approaching the Poco is the chipset it has for it's price....that's it

nightmare and disgusting are words that are usually used for phones of the 5-10 usd from china with shipping. I would not call any disadvantages or shortcomings that you think the phone has (obviously comparing to phones with higher price tag or with better individual parts but with other parts lacking) nightmares or disgusting.
but as you said its just you

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus or Huawei Mate 20 Pro?

hey guys, mate is still best! What do you think???
https://youtu.be/6EHQvYTKSWo
i picked mate 20 pro because the the camera punch hole in the s10 would drive me completely insane, worst design i've ever seen on a phone i think
mate 20 here would trade if i could
s10+ becausemy opinion only)
its newer
best battery :less capacity but better performance
best sound: louder and clearer
best screen : its a samsung nothing can beat this guys
camera photo same results dxomarks but its release firmware so it will get even better
best selfie by far
best video by far: we all know mate 20 pro is very bad
best 4k and 4k60fps: jelly efect on mate. cant deal with 4k60fps
best slow mo not fake 960. mate 20 pro was a interpollated 240 fps to seem it is making 960 fps
i have a mate 20 pro because what i said was kinda valid instead of note 9 some months ago.
mate 30 or even p30 pro i think will beat s10+
this is a 3 months king phone period so what you choose today in months it will be old news.
Yeah, the s10+ on paper is better than mate 20 pro.
Better screen, a faster chip, louder speakers, better camera software ( imo mate 20 raw camera performance is better),...
But in day to day use there will not be any huge differences except the punch hole display vs notch. With that said most of the games or apps I use even with the hole punch u will have black bars on the side, hell even youtube app has those unless u are willing to zoom in and cut part of the video (I hate all those reviews on youtube that zoom in the content just for the sake of having it fullscreen while in reality u will have to deal with blackbars if u dont want to cut off the top and bottom).
One thing I absolutely love it about the mate 20 pro but others seems to sleep on is the charging speed. I usually fall as sleep while watching random stuffs on my phone at night. And this is when super charge come in to save my ass. It charges a whooping 70% after my brushing, showering and shaving routine in the next morning. Im doubted the s10+ or even future note 10 could do the same. For me thats a game changer, now I can freely enjoy my sleep without waking up in the middle of the night remembering havent charge the phone yet.
I have the S10 plus arriving this week.
Ultimately it will be nice to have a proper functional always on display again, the lack of this on the Mate 20 pro has become something that bugs me every day and if Huawei added a proper AOD I'd probably cancel my S10 pre-order. It will also be nice have the volume sync properly on my bluetooth headphones.
Is a shame as the Mate 20 pro gets so much right.

wow, orders a new phone just because of AOD? do you have to much money or sever OCD ither way hope u like your new s10+
yes i'm jelly
I will obviously be selling the Mate if I keep the S10+ I'm not made of money!
AOD is a feature that I value, hoped I'd get used to it on the M20 pro maybe if the LED was not so small I would have but ultimately it just continues to bug me.
Overall I think the S10+ is the better phone except for not having proper face unlock.
Huawei really do need to up their AOD game but can't see it happening.
I don't think the hole punch design would bother me. I've never been bothered by notches (I had an iPhone X before the M20pro.)
Still, I can't upgrade until November so will see what the Mate 30 Pro has to offer.
3D face unlock is a gimmick of the past, from now on manufacturers will rely on Under display sensors and maximizing screen to body ratio in the coming years, Samsung is light years ahead in terms of UX and unmatched audio/video quality for android device, although they slack with implementing new camera tech, it's a choice
i just got the mate 20 pro with my carrier . To get the s10 would of costed me 500$ extra so for me it was an easy decision to get the mate 20 pro.

2 things that are prolly the weakest points on this phone. However I have decided to keep the mate 20 pro (for now though I'm very tempted) and not get the s10 plus. For me the best feature of the mate is the super charge vs the slow ass charge on the s10. Like another poster above mentioned, I have not micro managed this phone charge wise ever since I got it. I used to charge all my Samsungs every night to 100 but on this phone I never do!
Also, I love the fact that EMUI desktop can be done wirelessly unlike the s10 plus Dex. There's just too many things that I really love about the mate. I have been on ever Galaxy s and note device ever been out. I just came from the note 9 , which is collecting dust, to the mate 20 pro and I really really love this phone. From the way it feels in the hand (it's still slimmer by about 2mm compared to the s10 plus, to the way it looks. I think it's very unique looking and much better than the generic looking s10. Also the mate is a beast and I still think that EMUI (no matter how much people hate it) is a far more optimized and efficient software than Samsung's. I'm running Nova launcher and I have it set just the way I like it, so EMUI doesn't give me anything negative, only the positive such as awesome battery management, supeer fast and responsive interact interface, etc...
What are others folks thoughts on this??

I am on the fence re S10 vs the plus. The normal 10 looks a great size and is slightly smaller than the mate too. I too had the Note, it was a beast but I managed it, it was also easier in the hand vs say the Xs max, I have also had the S9 plus. There is something about the normal S10 or Mate though that falls into that goldilocks zone size wise. I think the bigger phones are nice with the larger screen but even if you ignore the one-handed use thing they are also more of a burden to carry around at times.
I'm concerned re the camera and expect the mate to have the better shooter. The battery management on the Mate will also be better I think even if it does come with the downside of it sometimes shutting down apps that you do not want it too.
I'm currently in the same boat to renew my contract with my service provider and really struggle with the decision which phone to pick...
IMHO the Mate 20 Pro is still the best phone out there, but Huawei's and FunkyHuawei's recent stupidities are both not making this decision very easy.
I currently own a Sony and was always happy with it and their software / firmware update policy and speed, except for the bootloader unlock, which wipes a DRM key and breaks some phone capabilities, which can't be restored anymore. For older phones it's still possible to circumvent that, but forget it on newer phones. That drived me away from Sony and although I really love the Mate 20 Pro's specs and internals... I think I would have a very hard time without an unlocked bootloader. F***, why are companies so stupid?!
That said... and although I'm not a Samsung fanboy... I'm that close to just turn around from this phone and choose an S10 model or pick an LG instead. Also for a higher price... Currently I'm just desperately waiting if anybody provides a bootloader unlock service for Huawei and that recent dark chapter for this brand becomes again less relevant.
My 5 cents...
As far as I see it, Samsung is the Apple of Android so won't touch them. Never been one to go for the companies with the biggest advertising budgets mainly HTC's and Sony's perviously and now on the Mate 20 Pro and so far it's been exactly what I thought it would be. Some reviewers go on about how bad the EMUI skin is, can't say I'm too bothered, if I have to tap the screen once more than a Samsung device to get to a particular setting (you know one that's "buried deep down" in the system) then I'm sure I'll live. The S10+ is basically a Mate 20 pro with newer internals that give marginally better performance levels, in the real world there's no difference - you might lose 0.01 of a second opening an app - if that's too long to wait you might have to re-evaluate where you are right now Both phones will still be holding their own in two years time and with the Mate's price dropping steadily you could pick one up for £200 less than the S10+, is there that much of a difference between the two? No, paying £200 more for a name is the preserve of the rich or daft, and I'm neither of those

I could not agree more to the statements. Same as you I have also always chosen the underdogs (loved my HTC Desire HD by the way), but when you seriously start to think who actually are the current bad guys, I would not name Samsung first. IMHO companies should ship their phones with an unlocked bootloader and not penalize the users for unlocking their phones (Sony) or not allow them to do so (Huawei). If it would be still possible to get the unlock codes I wouldn't even think twice which phone to pick. Sadly as things stand I have to confess to consider buying my first Samsung phone. LG would also be an option, but the problem on the latter is as well, that they simply don't allow to unlock every of their phones... Crap...
The lack of proper face unlock on the S10 might be a deal breaker. It's now been proved to be really insecure. The face unlock on the Mate is amazing.
Apart from that, the phones are really similar.

Love my mate 20 pro, I was fortunate I didn't have the green screen problem! I do like switching phones but brought it outright and just on a monthly sim only contract for £10 a month.
As others have said, I used to charge my old Samsung's to 100% every night, I top mine up and normally keep mine between 25-85% doesn't really matter where as I have the 40w charger at work and home and can get that 50% in about 20 mins.
Love the phone wide angle & telephoto cameras, the reviews are raving about these on the s10plus but seem to forget these were already available for years on the LG G series and the mate 20 pro since Sept last year. I know there is a slightly wider FOV on the S10plus.
Going to keep going with the mate 20 pro battery has not seen any performance degrade over the 6 months I've had it too which is great, with Nova launcher I don't use the EMUI.
I choose s10+.
because finger reader better other phone. But I like face Id in iphone. Mate 20 pro face id is a joke.
And green screen problem, I skip mate 20 pro.

Reasons why I bought 7 pro S10 plus owner

Where do I start with this, well let's start with my S10 plus 512gb version as that was my daily driver since launch. For me that's a seriously long time to stay with the same phone. It still is top notch, pardon the punt.
I never thought I would leave my favourite phone for so many reasons on the shelve to pickup the cheaper Oneplus.
The following are the reasons why I'm currently holding on to Oneplus 7 pro, the features which I most impressed with:
1. QHD 6.67" amoled screen, vibrant big and bright all screen. Nearly as vibrant as Samsung's screen.
2. Camera best Oneplus have produced. Images sharp with good detail, really impressed. Obviously not as good as Samsung's but for me good enough. I'm not a massive picture taker or selfies person.
3. Loud dual speakers, again this is top notch. Not as full or rich sound as S10 plus but it's darn close. Another surprise.
4. Triple SSS performance (coin that one) - Super smooth speedy performance. No strutting or freezing experienced yet.
5. Near stock firmware with a few Oneplus touches.
6. Quick updates to latest Android software.
7. Pop up camera prefer it over the hole in the screen, use it unlock phone as it's cool.
8. That damn refresh rate, boy ow boy is it smooth. This has completely spoilt me, it's fluid. This was always missing in android phones when comparing to iPhone. It's not perfect but it's brilliant.
It's pricey but when I consider how much other flagships are selling for its value for money.
I would pick this phone over every other phone even though it doesn't have wireless charging and waterproof ratings and only 256gb storage. Anyone overly reliant on these features then this phone isn't for you. Fortunately I'm not and I'm sticking with it for as long as I can.
So far I haven't missed my s10 plus and I'm glad Oneplus took this flagship route too. And I'm glad they've given people choice of going premium or the cheaper version.
Any questions give me a shout.
totally agree with everything you wrote!
This is my first day using this phone, also switching from the s10+ 512
Also I have come from the S10+ 8/512gb Ceramic White, whilst I very much enjoyed my experience, and Samsung produced a solid device.
The user experience is the selling point for OnePlus, it is simply untouched at this point, it's a perfect blend if you will.
I'm not saying I had any issues with my S10+ it was smooth, and OneUI is a remarkable improvement. However there was 4 Solid reasons for me to switch.
1)The 90htz all screen display, now I have experienced 90htz with the R.O.G and it's something I very much appreciate, also an uninterrupted screen, (the punch hole is not bad) but having the Find X and Next previously I grew to appreciated (no interruptions).
2)30w Fast charging, yeah this is a great thing (currently have 44w with my Vivo IQOO) and when using the S10+ with 15w it was painstakingly slow in comparisons.
3)UFS 3.0 now this was included in the "Galaxy Fold" why it wasn't present in the S10+ or even the 5G variant is Monday boggling, as clearly it can be massed produced and Samsung are in the semiconductor industry so "confused" but another reason to switch it up.
4) Software oh boy do I fully appreciate oxygenOS is clean, well optimised and has a fine blend. It's almost perfect, and in some ways better than stock itself (although it's close to)
5)ok I'm adding in but it is a great development device, still now OnePlus are friendly in this regard and in my opinion I think they are fully sensible as they learn so much from this, the development community gives them information on what we want improved, implemented, the likes and dislikes, even development that makes things better like Gcam, they learn from this. So their is no arrogance, this I like.
Samsung are closing doors and TWRP has to run on the boot partition now (not good).
So I'm not saying the S10+ is not a great device it's fantastic, it's just not quite as good as a user experience you get with OnePlus. Ok camera needs work on the 7 Pro, but I think it will get there and for the pics I take it's perfectly acceptable.
Will get my 7 Pro tomorrow, looking forward to that great user experience.
I only wish the oneplus had the gs10 plus type of curve display since they decided on a curve. The gs10 plus curves almost at the end of the border while the 7 pro curves at 75% of the screen.
I also switched from an S10+ for the display without a notch, better update support, and overall smoothness of OnePlus phones. I'm deciding whether or not to keep it as a back up since the resale value has plummeted.
Goodbye to my nice S10 Plus and hello cool 1+7Pro! Cheers
I honestly was debating whether to get the S10 plus or the 7 pro. Decided on the 7 pro and was going to think about it for the next week since I have 14 days from date of purchase to return the phone. My mind is made up now so now I'm trying to get my wife one now.
I own both the 7 Pro and the S10+
This is coming from someone who hasn't owned a Samsung since the Note 4 and has owned almost every OnePlus device.
While the 7 Pro is a really good phone the S10+ is just better. The only things better on the 7 Pro is the screen scrolling (90htz), OnePlus gestures (best Android gestures hands down), UFS 3.0 storage, and screen off gestures.
The fingerprint reader is faster on the 7 Pro but the fingerprint reader on S10+ works when your fingers are wet, and you don't need to wake the screen to use it.
I do like the size of the 7 Pro (I like bigger phones) but in-hand the S10+ feels better, 7 Pro is thicker than the S10+.
Samsung's new One UI is nothing like the old Touchwiz. The S10+ has so many customization option it's not even funny. I have found no reason to want to root the S10+ (coming from someone who has rooted every single phone they have owned).
7 Pro camera is ok but the camera on the S10+ is good if not great (not Pixel great).
The S10+ will be my daily driver and the 7 Pro will be my rooting, flashing, playing around on phone.
I have both the S10 5g and OP7 Pro. Both are outstanding devices. You can't go wrong with either. But the price difference can't be overlooked. With tax, the S10 5g (512gb) is double that of the OP7 Pro. Think about that for a minute...DOUBLE!! How may things can you think of that are half the price of the competition and actually better?!?!? I can't think of any. Says a lot about OP and what they have accomplished. There are obviously pros/cons with both devices. Depends what your needs are. Kudos to Samsung & OnePlus for making great devices!

I may be only one, but I think the overall performance of the 7 pro is in a whole other league. I've yet to ever see this thing stutter at anything I've done on it. Cannot say the same about my current S10+ ceramic or any other one I've had including the crazy 12gb 1T variant. I've had the U, U1, W, F and F/DS and most of the time phone will stutter. It was most noticable when unlocking it and going to the home screen, mind you my home screen is not a clutter fest but a simple single row of 5 icons and one clock. Then in general use, chrome would take a bit to open etc.
Then there is the wireless power share, total gimmick if you ask me. It's cool sure, but useful to what degrees? Maybe if you got the Galaxy buds (which wore also asstwine aipod sounding hot garbage) and charge them when going to bed.
Wireless charging? Could careless for it, never use it anyway.
Built quality tho will have to go to Samsung. The 7 pro feels nice in the hand and you can feel it's much better then the 6T which felt like a $200 toy but it can't beat the feel of the S10+. I've also noticed OnePlus uses some sort of lower quality of metal for their housing as I'm noticing some fine scratches from 2 days of use and being super careful with it. Never had that issue with the s10+, no case ever, no screen protector and not a single micro scratch.
Coming from a Note 9....I really like OP font and speed. As others mentioned, even chrome is faster loading. Yes the screen on the Note is much better and the gcam loaded on the Note owns OP...for now anyways, but something about this phone smoothness and speed has me hooked on it. I'm still in the 14 day window on it and thus still deciding to keep it... But otherwise I love it. Love the OS, speed, gestures, etc. The screen curve is ok, but could have been better. Look at it like this guy's.... It's better than what's coming from pixel 4....
True, the Pixel's are always behind and have a hard time catching up with once a year release...
What I prefer Samsung S10 plus ceramic
over Oneplus 7 pro.
S10 plus build quality ceramic version feels and looks much more premium
S10 plus is thinner
S10 plus speakers
S10 plus camera and video recording options
S10 plus 512gb memory option
Would I go back to S10 probably not as I'm Oneplus is almost my ideal phone. After using Oneplus software, screen refresh and triple SSS performance I couldn't.

Overall love

Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Samsung galaxy note 20 ultra
Yes this is great phone i already using it great company
So far I have to say this phone is on its way to becoming the New GOAT. Build quality is stellar, i don't mind the camera bump, small sacrifice for a better shooter. Plus I always rest my finger against it. But that being said, it's pretty much the perfect phone IMO.
The display, the smoothness, the cameras. If I can get 6h + SOT on top of that it'll definitely become my GOAT Samsung phone. Dethroning the Note 7 who dethroned the Galaxy S4 Google play edition but I digress.
I don't see myself moving to another phone any time soon.

Initial thoughts after final setup:
Going from a A20 ultra to a Note 20 ultra, I think this phone just looks and might even perform better. The feel in the hand, the fingerprint reader, everything seems to run smoother. I'm loving it so far.
My main concern is the battery life with heavy use. I've tweaked the settings a bit, so I guess I will have a better idea after a few days of use. But so far so good! :good:
I just received and configured my Note 20 Ultra. It's so similiar to Note 10+ but faster. Software looks almost the same. I already have 1 software update with security patch from 1st of August
edit: what is annoying is that pen is from the other side it's inconviniet if you are using right hand to operate and hold your phon in your left hand
It's an incredible phone. So much smaller than my first mobile phone 35 years ago. How far we have come since Palm first put a PDA and mobile into the same unit. Luv, Luv, Luv.
PS. The Beans are wonderful. So nice to not have a bud sticking into my ear canal.
PPS. Now I have to wait all over again for my Tab S7+.

Lol, I remember those. My first phone was a brick phone with a battery that lasted an hour if you were lucky, and a hand calculator sized screen. Times have changed indeed. It's amazing.

I have waited on the Note series for a while. What finally took my commitment was finding out the s pen is on the left. As a lefty, this is the most convenient placement I can imagine.
Anticipate that the placement will change back to the right in the next iteration after feedback from rightys.
If the s-pen was on the right, it would be perfect. Fingerprint scanner is brilliant now, screen is unreal, battery life is phenomenal, speed is beyond belief... Perfection. Good luck topping this, Samsung
Love this phone! It's definitely my favorite phone ever. It just barely beats my love for the OnePlus 8 Pro. I like the form factor of this phone better with less display curves. Plus all the tons of software features. However the colors and brightness on the OnePlus 8 Pro are better.

Can you elaborate further on the brightness? Everything I've read says the Note 20 Ultra has a brighter screen than the OnePlus 8 Pro, and the rated nits value is quite a bit higher. It might only go up to highest brightness in adaptive mode and being outside? IDK, but you're the first person I've seen say this.

This is the best way I have of describing my N20U screen brightness.
On a no cloud sunny day, I can take my phone out and see the screen perfectly. No more having to turn to use my body for shade and my hand to see the screen.
I am 69 with mild Adult onset Macular Degeneration. This phone is fantastic for me with auto brightness enabled.
I hope that helps.

Couldn't agree more. After owning note 2,3,4,7,8, and 9 with the pen on the right it will take some getting used to.
Battery life is also a bit meh coming from a Poco F2 Pro but it's good enough to get me to the end of the day so I can live with it.
Apart from those two factors I love this thing. Even at 60hz the screen is very bright and vibrant. It's very responsive, plenty quick enough for day to day tasks, and I've got the inferior Exynos model since that's all my country gets.
Camera is also beast. Low light isn't quite as good as my P30 Pro but it's still pretty impressive compared to a lot of smart phones out there. One thing it does have over the p30 is that it's much faster to grab focus so much better for quick snaps.
great phone, super screen, great that the diagonal has become larger, very convenient !!!
I bought note 20 ultra it is most bs phone i ever use it
No complaint in the overall experience
I've had Note 1, Note 3, S7, S10+ and now N20U from HK with Snapdragon. I've only had it two days, but I'm very happy with the phone. Big £ savings vs UK Exynos are icing and a cherry on top of the cake.
Having pre ordered the phone and having used Notes 3,4,7, 8 and now the 20 Utra 5G with 512gb internal storage; I wanted to wait to make a judgement call but I can say while there are things I like about the phone, I don't think it is what I expected and I am done with Samsung products.
I mean they have tried un-successfully to get rid of the micro sd card slot so then they go after the head phone jack. They skimp on the 120Hz display at full resolution. I mean there are a number of things for a flag ship $1549 phone that just say crap. I was interested in a watch and a tab s7 also. but that isn't going to happen.
I've owned a number of Samsung devices in the past, including Notes 8 and 9 as well as an S10e provided by my company. The Note 9 is, to me, an icon and the last no holds barred, everything but the kitchen sink, no compromises, Note. I do a lot of mobile photography and have always gravitated toward devices that had impressive camera/audio/video capabilities as well as feature-filled in other areas. I wanted to get my hands on the Note 20 Ultra but wasn't willing to relinquish my still pristine Note 9 for the pre-order trade in discount. So I waited for the software problems to get sorted out and the prices to come down. I regularly scanned the Offer Up and Swappa websites until I was able to a factory unlocked 512GB model from a good seller at a great price. This device is a juggernaut of power, form, function, features and fun. I found it not to be too much larger than my Note 9 which fits oh so nicely in hand in its Caseoloy Paraxell case. The camera and video set up is a mobile photographer's dream. I've utilized Google Pixel software apks (GCam) on all of my devices going back to my LG V20 and the stock cameras work so well that I have found no need to port one this time out. This is just overall a top notch piece of tech that does so many things and does them well. It is a quality, powerful, feature-filled piece of technology that will fulfill your needs, whether it's mobile photography, work productivity or content consumption/creation and everything in between. I'm glad I added it to my lineup.
Hardware is great ! With a few greed related exceptions, ( Like Non-Removable Battery, No Audio Port,etc... ) Scamsung's Locked Bluetooth codec really burns my ars !
It could Do/Be so much more/better if they would just fix the Hardware/Firmware lockdown BS.
Coming from a Rooted Note3, this is a really bad experience trying to do anything with this thing, Nothing works without agreeing to some sort of sketchy user agreement. No one is making any usable apps any more, Most of the Best Developers have quit bothering with Android. Even simple widgets don't even work anymore
I DO NOT OWN this over priced phone, They Do ! And they do/steal what ever they want to/from it !
They forced Assdroid 11 in the middle of the night with a corrupt image, I was forced to send it back to them to get it re-flashed. Now None of the apps I was using on version 10 will work on ver. 11.
I will NEVER buy another assdroid, scamsung again. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.
Sad that almost all the hardware/software makers are using these creepy/greedy tactics to spy, steal & dictate what you should do. No other choices out there any more ...
Soon you will have to log in just to wipe your ass ! & they Will be counting your turds.

Question A bit underwhelmed

Had the pixel 7 for 4 days now and not that impressed with it
Actually thinking about going back to my OnePlus 7 Pro
The charging is poor on it and generally scrolling on webpages menu etc its no better than my oneplus
Dont know maybe I will persevere with it and it will get better
Got the pixel 7 on a killer deal with 5g coming from 4g with EE - I literally got the phone for free but not feeling it
Anyone else not buying into the hype?
So I've had the phone for the better part of a month and my takeaway from owning the device is that whilst is not the best or does it have any killer features that stand out above any other phone I've used. It does everything that it does really very well
The auto brightness is basically perfect.
The camera is reliable, it's not the best. The video is a bit lacking, but everything else about it is very good.
Is probably not the fastest at navigating between apps and multitasking but when I use the device it's reliably smooth in operation.
The battery isn't as good as my previous device, Poco F3, however, it gets me through the day and it's reliable in battery drain.
Notifications work unlike MIUI
Signal is much better compared to my 7T Pro
I can use speaker phone in my car and the other side can hear me clearly, couldn't do this on the 7T or F3
The screen is accurate and well balanced
I could go on
The phone doesn't have anything amazing that will make you want to go out and buy it or talk about how amazing it is, but once you just use it day in day out as the tool phones are now, it becomes the best phone I've used as a package.

Thing is my oneplus is a better phone than the pixel
I am not trying to downplay the pixel its just for a new phone/upgrade its not what I thought it would be
If it works for you great and I genuinely mean that
Going to give it a few more days but I can honestly see myself switching back I miss the fluidity and charging speed of my oneplus
I only got the P7 because the carrier I'm with would only give me a better deal if I got a new phone. It's been nearly 3 months and still haven't used it other than to take pictures and see how it runs lol. It's a quirky thing.
I do have plans for it down the road, once it's rooted with a custom ROM, but won't be using it as a primary device. 128 GB without an SD card slot was what killed it for me. I know most phones don't have the slot these days, but with specs similar enough to my S10 with 512 GB and the card slot, I've just stuck with using that. I know the P7 has a better battery and charges faster, but the extra storage is more important for what I need. Not bad as a back-up device though.
I have a pixel 7 after almost 3 years with the OnePlus 7pro and I was the same... OxigenOS have a lot more stuff than pixel except for the exclusive stuff. I was missing my OnePlus a lot and hold this P7 for a month or more... After that I went back to the OnePlus and noticed the quality of the phone. OnePlus felt so cheap in my hand and idk, it was not the same. So yes I understand your feeling about OP7pro it was a hell of a phone but , I think pixel 7 is just more premium feeling and a "mature OS" nut fun but mature.
Oneplus have a great deal on the 11 at the moment I can get £180.00 trade in on the 7 pro plus - free buds plus if I link my device and a 5% student beans I have got the price down £400 very tempting
I went from the OnePlus 6t to the pixel 6 and I kinda felt the same way. I knew it was a better phone in theory with higher specs and all, but the 6t had a better screen to me and seemed faster in charging and smoothness at first. However, the camera on the pixel was waaaay better and I was happy with that trade off. Fast forward a year and I got a good trade in deal from the pixel 6 to the 7 and it is a way better screen than my 6. Not much else other than slightly lighter in the hand with better weight distribution (6 was top heavy). It is a much better overall experience though and I love a couple of features I've only found on pixels like the ability to copy text from your recent apps slider, amazing speech to text, and I will say the scrolling speed/smoothness has gotten way better with time. I think the software needs a bit of time to smooth out.
I came from the OP8. I did like the phone, but got really tired of the hit or mostly miss camera. I know there are better camera phones than the P7, but I'm not buying a phone I can't root plus I really like the smaller size. The OP11, IDK, like another said, my P7 does everything I want and does it really well. Also there's the whole Chinese and Spyware thing.
I get what everyone is saying!! I came from a Pixel 3XL. The 7 didn't blow me away, but works very efficiently. At least I can unlock my bootloader now.

That depends on if you use your phone as a phone, once you get used to not receiving spam calls and having call screening there is no going back.
Also the speech recognition is faster and more accurate than any device on the market.
Thing is phone's have been fast enough for years and you won't notice a huge difference between modern devices.

I was in the same situation, upgraded from my oneplus 7 pro. I agree that the screen was better on the oneplus and looking at a spec sheet it is obvious that it is the better screen. Other than that and charging speed everything is better on the pixel 7. The NFC is more reliable, better sound quality, better networking, camera and so on. I think it is worth the upgrade if you do not mind the screen. I rarely ever used the dash charge and mostly stuck to slower charging for over night so I do not have issues with the charging and the battery lasts me the whole day anywaay.

I've had my pixel 7 since late November, and I'll never buy another. I regret trading in my Galaxy S20fe for this turd of a phone. Google has locked down so much of the stock OS it's ridiculous. Very Apple -like. If I want that garbage I'll just buy an iphone.
But by far the most miserable part is the awful--and I mean TRULY, epically horrifically bad--fingerprint sensor. It's hands down the worst I have ever seen on any phone.

I can't comment on the OS because I just got the phone and rooted it right out of the box, but Samsung phones are fairly limited themselves IMO not to mention with tons of bloat. I went from an Honor View 10 to an S10(because ATT blocked my V10 from service last year) and the s10 is crap in comparison and has very restrictive OS.
Do you have a screen protector? Did you rescan your fingerprints after? Lots of issues have been reported for those who haven't rescanned after a screen protector install, even changing brands I would recommend it.
GL
I bought this in December after accidentally destroying the screen of my OnePlus 7 Pro. It's everything I loved about that phone, with the bonus of NOT having a curved screen. Best phone ever? Nah. But a damn good and reliable phone? Absolutely.
You need to give Pixels some time, as the software is supposed to be intuitive and adapt to your usage. Also, I think some people coming from a different OEM don't realize Pixels are pure android with no frills, so they don't always "wow" you right out of the box. Pixels aren't for everybody, but those of us who love our Pixels tend to be happy with them and enjoy special features that others may not get due to carrier software manipulation, etc.
At the end of the day, all devices are subjective and it just depends on what you're looking for. Don't like the Pixel? Cool. There are thousands of other options out there. Go find your happy place.
Pixels can run grapheOS, others phones can't. That's me reason to keep pixel phones.
I regret trading in my P3 for this phone
The OS is cleaner and it has some nice functionality, but even my Xiaomi mi 10 that I traded from feels like a better phone. And the battery life, which was the only reason I gave up the mi 10 (which had dropped to 60% battery), is **** on the pixel 7.
cannot talk about the OS, i immediately switched to LineageOS as i'm used to that.
i tend to agree to the general feeling, underwhelming it's a good summary for this device.
in my overall experience, it's a barely good device which could've been great if they wanted to.
Screen: 5/10
mediocre screen... it only looks good on darker colors, lighter ones look terrible with visible rainbow effects at very little movement.
minor, almost imperceptible, flickering on static images.
i completely fail to understand why pixel 7 has so many positive reviews about the screen.
thankfully xda and other reviewers made interesting insights about this issue, sadly we as the customers got a indecent panel.
Battery life: 8/10
usually allows me to do 5h of screen usage with ~50%, which is more than enough for me, just in time to put in charge for the next day.
Camera: 7/10
i expected more, considering the reviews.
i've tried it a few days on stock and gcam but i really don't see why all the praises.
anyway it delivers more than i actually need and care.
front camera is actual ****, really bad for video calls.
About the rest:
fingerprint sensors, odd enough, works ok for me: it always recognize my fingerprint. it's just a tad slow which isn't great.
stereo audio balance is weird.
i'll always complain about 3.5" mm audio jack lack.

It also doesn't have digital to analog conversion, soost USB-C to 3.5mm converters won't work.
