[Question] DAC/Amp for S7 Edge (Exynos) - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

Hi fellas,
Just want to ask some advice on what particular DAC/Headset Amp is best for our device.
Is Fiio K1 a good fit? By the way, I'm using a SkullCandy Ink'd 2.0.
Tia for the reply.

Any FiiO will work really, I have the E18 and that's been working out great, I've recently upgraded to an iFi amp/dac combo so am interested to see/hear the difference, I currently have/use the E18 on the PC and with Tidal HiFi...wow, sonic bliss.

I concur. I have an old skool FiiO E11. Small footprint and works well.

In all honesty with skull candy headphones, pretty much pick anything supported and use it (audio snob and despise skull candy as an FYI)

I have used the Soundblaster E3 https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Portable-Headphone-Amplifier-Bluetooth/dp/B00J79KNPM
for the Past 8 months works very well for running my Etymotic ER4 earphones. Has the Bluetooth as well as plugging in to my Galaxy S7E via USB as a DAC/Amp.... I use Neutron
http://neutronmp.com/ as my music player on the phone which has a direct USB driver for a pure audio experience. Pictured are the setting screens for Neutron that show the hardware options while using the E3 as the external DAC... Hope you find the perfect audio experience.

I'm using the Fiio Q1 and love it, I use it for my PC, my laptop and my phone. The battery life is great as well as delivering a stellar amplification (IMO). Can't recommend it enough!

Some times used my ifi DSD Nano (original Without Bluetooth) with my havi b3 pro 1 and the S7 edge. But most of the Time i use the havi with the xduuo x2 DAP on the Go.

Jabra Halo

Does anyone have the Jabra Halo? It looks like a decent headset. How is it with the Galaxy Tab? Do all the buttons and functions work? What about the sound quality and battery life on it? Im looking to get it soon, but im worried about the sound quality coz im used to loud, bassy, full sized headphones.

I had one but returned it because it was very uncomfortable for me due to the lack of any hinges.
All the buttons and functions worked fine and the sound-quality was pretty good compared to other bluetooth headphones (i went through 6 or 7 different models). Battery-Life was also quite good, about what has to be expected when you have some room for the batteries. IIRC at least 4-5h.
Ok thanks. Anyway i bought a Nokia BH 503 instead. Decent sound quality and battery. Plays nice with the galaxy tab and Power Amp!

I am looking for new desktop speakers

Hey people as I said in the title I am looking for some new speakers for my desktop. However, thanks to my current dual monitor setup I need either really short speakers or something like laptop sound bar so the speakers don't get hidden behind the monitors. So if someone has any suggestions that be great.

No I do not unfortunately, here is a pic to show how much space I have, as you can see I currently already have a speaker hidden behind them.

Bump I'd still like to hear some suggestions, preferably for speakers under 100 dollars and I only need 2 speakers since I wouldn't be able to spread out surround sound speakers properly in the room I have my computer in.
Under your budget are the m-audio av30 speakers.

At $149, I'd definitely recommend the av40.

I had various Jawbones and BlueAnt headsets, most recently the ERA and the Q2.
The Jaewbone ERA was good and fit my ear well even without the ear hook, but the call quality was sometimes not so good. Some people had a hard time hearing me. Not sure why but I had this issue with all the jawbone headsets I've used. Sometimes people tell me it sounds great and then their are some that can hear me. I did get complaints about wind if it was windy. It may work great with the Note II don't know I lost it before I got my Note II.
The BlueAnt Q2 fit's a bit loose in my ear and requires I use the ear hook. But the overall call quality is been better for me. Another feature I like it that it downloads you phone book and can tell you who's calling (if their in contact). This feature workes great with my Note II, on my S2 it did not, though I was running a custom ROM and that my have caused it. The Jawbone only let you set up 10 contacts to readout their names. Wind can also be an issue with the Q2 (as with every headset I've ever tried including the Jawbone).
Update: just noticed the Q2 won't announce callers in my contact list now that I'm running a custom ROM.

It was around $12.00 on
Ebay. It looks cheap, it is cheap. It works great. It's quite a bit smaller than a regular mouse. I tried to post a link but it didn't work. It came up on the first page searching "Bluetooth Mouse".

Pic 1..... is a logitech bluetooth mouse
m/n: M-RCQ142, it has worked very well with both the note1 and the note 2.
Pic 2 & 3 ......was made by Think Outside, bluetooth keyboard
m/n XTBT01 ...this little baby can be tough to find but well worth the search. It is a full touch touch typing tactile keyboard that locks in open position. Folded up it fits in a coat pockect. It took a little work to pair with my old note 1, but it easily and seamlessly paired with my note 2.
The note 2 with this mouse, keyboard, and allcast dongle have completly replaced my laptop for weekend travel.

Apt-X Support

Have not found clear info regarding this -
I know that my Note 4 supported Apt-x.
Does anyone know if Note 5 supports the protocol, and if so, do you have an official source?
Apt-x to me is the only thing that makes bluetooth streaming tolerable.
For those who don't know - it eliminates (to my ears) the extremely loss of fidelity you normally get when using bluetooth a2dp type streaming.
Once you hear the difference, you can NEVER go back

It's NOT shown on the http://www.aptx.com/ website. (Odd, as the Edge+ _is_ on there.) I believe it does support AptX, but I don't see any "official" documentation stating it.
I was using Apt-X on my GS4 with a compatible atonishing headset, now I'm using the headset with my Note5 but as you have noticed there is no official document about it while GSM Arena mentioned it in an article beside of lack of apt-x feature in Note5 specs at the same time !
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note5-review-1286p3.php
Now I'm more curious about it but one thing I'd rather to fool myself with is all flagships by Samsung at the release time of Note5 had apt-x, which means there is no technical limitation to have it in Note5 as well, plus I can't recognize any loss comparing to GS4 with my headset
I use my note 5 with several apt-x accessories such as my htc stereo clip adapter.
I would know instantly if it was not apt-x. Rest assured, it supports it
I'm gonna disagree with the above poster. I don't think my Note5 supports aptx. I have a the Sony MDR-1RBT mk2 headset. I also have a Sony NWZ-A17 player. Both Sony devices support aptx. When playing music with the Note5, it just sounds much worse than playing music with the A17. This is using the same music files so same bit rate and format.
I just captured Bluetooth traffic between note 5 and Bose Apt-X Bluetooth receiver. It's All Apt-X.
