I've found that the profiles of the alert slider don't quite work for me. In particular, there is no real silent mode that turns off vibrations and OS sounds.
'Silent mode' (top position) leaves vibrations on which is obviously not good when I'm going to sleep etc
'Do not disturb' (middle position) disables vibrations and notification sounds but leaves OS sounds on (the lock/unlock sound for example). This is really annoying when I don't want to wake my Boyfriend or don't want to distract people in a meeting.
Is there any way to disable OS sounds in do not disturb mode?
Also is there any way to enter a profile automatically (when I go to sleep for example)? I've been able to do this on other android phones.
Thanks!
Sorry cm13 was the only way I found to take full control of the annoying stock settings you mentioned

I've recently upgraded my old OnePlus 2 to the new Oneplus 3T. Alongside my oneplus, I use a Sony Smartwatch 3.
When I use the profile slider (is this what it's called?) to select Silent / DND / Normal my Smartwatch will change too. In Silent & DND modes, my watch will not notify. In Normal mode, the watch will vibrate for any alerts.
With the OnePlus 2, I was simply able to put it into Normal (slider at the bottom) and just manually bring the volume down to Vibrate. This way, both the phone and watch would vibrate for any alerts.
Since changing to the OP3T, I don't seem to be able to get this same setting. As before, in Silent and DND modes, the watch refuses to vibrate. In Normal mode, I'm unable to bring the volume down to zero - it seems to be locked.
Does anyone know a way of putting both devices into just Vibrate only mode??
Thanks :good:
I'm in the same boat. I've seen there's couple of xposed plugin for Oneplus 3 to change the slider behavior, sadly none of them seem to be compatible with 3t.
I'd love to control only the ringer volume with the slider instead of changing notifications mode.

Same - Ideally I'd like Silent (for night) / Vibrate (for work) / Ring & Vibrate (any other time)

The only way to get around this is to get a toggle app like power toggle that you can find in the playstore. You place the phone into ringer mode then use the toggle button to make it vibrate. Power toggles is pretty nice and I use it for other things like to toggle brightness to a certain percentages.
Here's the kicker.... You will not receive call notifications on your watch but you will get everything else. You also cant change the stock dialer even if you disable it it will still pop up
This is the reason I stopped using Alert slider as it doesn't play well with my Huawei Watch (there is no plain vibrate mode without DND mode turned on).
Luckily, I managed to make my custom-rom like xposed module (GravityBox) compatible with OOS 3.5 which allows me to
change ringer modes directly from quick settings or by using Quiet Hours.
i had a wearble but coldnt sync it

One Plue 3T does not detect android wear 1.4. Any help / tips to connect?
I just got the MIUI 9 update(although didn't try this before) and I'm trying various applications to allow me to effectively mute all notifications and allow phone calls to ring with sound. I've tried a few and they all work, but they seem to turn on DND mode and don't always release it leaving me with no sounds at all. Has anyone had any luck unlinking the phone and notifications with Nougat and MIUI?
Quick update...to simplify I downloaded silent.ogg and applied it to my default notification sound and each app that used special. This way I have ringing all the time with volume and all other notifications just visual and in some cases, to my watch. It works.
Ehi guys!
i'm trying to switch off vibration on notifications (i don't mind about calls) based on condition, because i really can't stand my phone vibrating while laying in my table at work.
I've tried 2 solution, activate vibration only while in my pocket or while connected to certain wifi.. i have no problem with the triggers but i'm not able to actually toggle off and on the vibration..
i've tried both this script https://forum.xda-developers.com/u/t...asker-t3345309 or the tasker plugin "sound mode" but they both toggle do not disturb mode, not the vibration..
i just want to:
1. vibration off + volume on while on the table
2. vibration on + volume on while on my pocket
Any help?
Thanks!!
I don't think this is possible with Tasker. My guess is, you will have to disable vibration on a system level - driver for example.
Thanks a lot for your reply! Can you be a bit more specific on your solution? I'm not sure I get it
I think it is only possible if you can find the driver file for vibration and make change there.
Some applications, like Viber, vibrate furiously in all situations and users have little control over it. My solution is Xposed and GravityBox, both of which are mostly not tasker-able.
Actually I've noticed that if I block a notification in AutoNotification, then recreate it in Tasker, the vibration doesn't go off. If you don't want to block the app's notifications on a system level, it's a good workaround.
You can also just turn vibration system wide with the Vibrate action (should be in Audio).
thanks guys, i'll give it a try
Just got the Galaxy 210 Ultra, however I'm really missing the quick silent / vibrate feature on my pixel 4 XL. It's been a while since I've been using a Samsung phone, did they implement any feature that allows you to put your phone on silent while the screen is still off?
Putting the phone face down also is not an option for me since I don't want the phone to be completely silent.
Don't know about Q and 11 but there's options in notifications and Do Not Disturb on my 10+ Pie variant... it should be there, somewhere.
I just add the tile in the quick settings
What I just found out also is you can go into accessibility then advanced settings and set up shortcuts to mute all sounds with volume up and down keys
I use the sideActions app amd set double click on the power button to change sound mode. Works great.
Hello everyone.
Question: Is there the option to completely disable vibration in Android 11 on A30?(Yeap, I still haven't upgraded to Android 11. Don't see a particular reason, and I really hate the current style of OneUI.)
But.
As of late, the vibration is REALLY PISSING me off. Notifications vibration especially.
In the settings I can choose only between "Sound (and vibration)" - "Vibrate" - "Mute (all)"
But I don't want to mute the sounds, only the vibration.
There is the setting to disable the vibration for phone calls, but it works only with standard calls.
All messenger applications are ignoring it.
Do not disturb mode is ignored too!
There is no option to disable it in per-app settings either.
And no options under Accessibility menu (like Vibration and Haptic Strength) either.
If it's possible in Android 11, then I'll upgrade just for the sake of this option.
Otherwise, I'm gonna literally rip the motor off.
