Galaxy Note 1 stuck in "logo_q1.jpg draw failed" - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I wanted to update my android to lolipop (5.1) and followed the instruction below :--
-Connect your Galaxy Note to your PC using USB cable and copy the downloaded files to the SD card of your Galaxy device.
-Disconnect your Samsung Note N7000 and power it off.
-Now boot it in to the CMW recovery mode: press and hold Volume Up, Home and the Power buttons simultaneously. Use Volume keys to highlight and Power button to select.
-Nandroid backup: select Backup and Restore option to perform the Nandroid backup of your current OS.
-Data wipe operations: go to wipe data/factory reset and confirm the operation. Also wipe cache partition and finally go for wipe dalvik cache to clean it up too.
-Now, select install zip from sdcard and then choose zip from Sdcard. Locate the NightOwl Android 5.1 Lollipop file and confirm its installation.
-When the ROM installation completes successfully, repeat the above step for installing the GApps package.
-Once done, go back to main recovery menu and select reboot system now.
-Wait until your device boots in to the very new Android!
But when i tried to install it, it says installation failed and my battery case was opened and my battery dropped. When i restart my phone it says, logo_q1.jpg draw failed. Is there anyway to fix this? I even tried to boot it in CWM mode but it didn't work, "logo_q1.jpg draw failed" is still there

[Q] Clean fresh Install OS - Required

Hi..
I was trying to upgrade my samsung galaxy s plus (GT-19001) device to Android 4.0.4.
i just installed CWM-based recovery v5.5.0.4 on my device by rebooting and selecting (install zip from sd card).
------using mentioned combination of keys -------
Then i placed the files in my phone's internal SD Card.
files are mentioned below:
1-> cm-9-20121011-ivendor-ariesve-rc5.zip
2-> gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
3-> recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.zip
then install 1 by choosing from internal SD card and then 2nd file.
my device prompted completion success messages but it took very short time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
now what happened after doing this. my device is displaying same booting screen of CWM-based recovery v5.5.0.4 on each re-boot.
i treid many times by unplug the battrey but unfortunately unsuccessfull.
After that i did Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried it through window's based utility Odin v4.43 but it could detect my device usb driver even after success of USB driver installation.
it didn't display Added in message box.
now what should i do ?
i already installed samsung Kies but still undetected.
I tried some old version of Odin 3v1.8 , it detected the port and displayed Added but failed to write ROM on my device.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My desktop machine's OS : windows 8 64 bit enterprise edition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am unable to install new ofor revert back my OS because when i Hold Vol Down + Home + Power, This is not putting me in Download Mode instead Ramdump Mode.
I need your guidence to resolve the issue. Thanks in advance.
Please ask for further details if required.
I'm not sure I got exactly what you did.
1) You installed CWM recovery.
2) You rebooted into recovery.
3) You installed the CM ROM zip.
4) You installed the GApps zip.
5) You rebooted.
Am I right ? And now you only get access to the recovery ?
If you're coming from a GingerBread ROM, this is normal. Simply, re-install the ROM again (and the GApps obviously). If it doesn't work, tell us.

Hi Einril.
I try to summarize in some chunks for better understanding.
=======================================================================================
Hi.
I just started with CWM-based recovery v5.5.0.4 and placed all above mentioned files/packages into the device internal SD card.
That's what i did :
1). Entered into the recovery mode menu by holding down Volume Up + Power and installed CWM-based recovery v5.5.0.4 zip from the selection of Internal SD Card .
2). After reboot, i came up again in Recovery mode using CWM-based recovery v5.5.0.4 application.
3). Now installed cm-9-20121011-ivendor-ariesve-rc5.zip by the navigation of "Install zip from SD".
It took hardly 4 to 5 seconds and displayed a message that it completes . no flash screen or anything came up and reboot.
4). After that installed gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip by the navigation of "Install zip from SD".
It displayed same complete message but within 5 to 8 seconds i think.
5). I Wipe data/cache/Dalvik cache after above step and then again repeat the process.
After that i did Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
Now when i try to start my device then each time it comes into the CWM-based recovery v5.5.0.4' s recovery mode.
Ask further please if anything is unclear, i have tried too many things with it but yet not soft bricked.
I am able to switch into Download mode.
Did you try to re-install the ROM from the recovery ? (flash cm-9-20121011-ivendor-ariesve-rc5.zip again)

Hi Erinil,
I think i installed but not sure.
Could you elaborate the re-install ROM steps ?
I tried but same recovery display of CWM-based recovery v5.5.0.4, comes again and stay on recovery mode screen.
How my OS will be started?
It might be possible , i am doing something wrong.
Could you enlist the steps?
Ok.
1) Boot into recovery.
2) Wipe data/Factory reset.
3) Wipe cache.
4) Go to Advanced, then wipe Dalvik cache.
5) Go back, go to Mount & Storage, then Format System.
6) Go back, go to Install zip from SD Card => Choose zip from SD Card => cm-9-20121011-ivendor-ariesve-rc5.zip.
7) Do the same thing for the gapps zip.
8) Wipe data/Factory reset again (just to be sure).
9) Reboot.
This, I think, is the cleanest install you can do. Tell me the result.

Einril I tried it same as you explained in steps.
It didn't worked nor display any error during this process.
I think my problem is that. when i start my device it automatically entered into the recovery mode of CWM-based recovery v5.5.0.4..
whether i hold Vol+ and Powerbutton or not, it entered into the recovery mode each reboot.
It might be possible that OS has been installed sucessfull but how the OS will be started now?
Hum, that's strange. You say you can access to Download Mode ? Are you able to flash back the Samsung stock ROM ?
Hi Einril,
What does that mean? Means that Reverting to Gingerbread through Desktop Window OS?
I am unable to revert from my One Laptop (i7 3610 & WIndow 8 - 64 bit) but i am able to revert from my OLD laptop (OS is : window 7 32 bit)
Ok, I heard that some people are having issues with USB drivers on Windows 8. But if you can restore Gingerbread with your old computer, this is great.
Can you try to re-install a stock gingerbread firmware, with re-partition enabled, and then to try again the procedure I gave you ? This way, we are sure that your previous attempts have no effects on the result.
Einril, I have installed stock gingerbread firmware on my device and it is working now.
now guide please how to re-partition? Do you mean using CWM recovery ?
Could you simply enlist the thing which i will have to do now on fresh gingerbread OS?
I 'll tell you today night because right now i am not at home.
Well, if your gingerbread frmware is working, you don't need to repartition.
Now, simply re-install ClockworkMod Recovery, and re-do the whole installation process I gave you. By the way, you said you installed ClockworkMod recovery by flashing a zip in recovery. Isn't it supposed to be a .tar.md5 to flash via Odin ?
Yes i installed ClockworkMode Recovery from recovery mode.
I haven't tried with .tar.md5 using Odin4.43.
I 'll try with both throught Clockworkmode and Odin.
In fact i have tried many time 2-3 months ago too through TeamWin Recovery . problem was same.
It didn't start my OS instead displaying its recovery screen and operations.
i tried but all in vain.
Couldn;t be successful.
it just start from CWM recovery mode and so. not switching into the other mode.

[Q] Phone is always booting in TWRP Mode

I'm new to this forum,
I tried to flash using signed-broodROM-JB-Release-1.zip.
I have followed these steps
Turn off your phone.
Reboot the phone into Recovery Mode by holding down the Volume Up and Power keys. When the Samsung logo appears, release both buttons. When “Android out of the Box” is displayed, tap the Menu button. DO NOT press the Home button during bootup, or else the phone will enter RAM Dump Mode.
On the recovery menu, select Apply update from SD card or Install ZIP from SD card.
Locate the twrp2.2.1-recovery.zip file and confirm that you want to install the file.
Reboot your phone afterwards.
Turn off the phone.
Reboot the phone into Recovery Mode as in step 2.
If you see the TWRP Recovery menu, then you’ve successfully flashed the new custom recovery over your phone’s stock recovery.
1.Copy the signed-broodROM-JB-Release-1.zip file and the Google Apps package to the internal SD card of your phone.
2.Turn off the phone.
3.Boot your phone into Recovery Mode. You can do this by pressing and holding down the Volume Up and Power buttons at the same time. You can then let go of the buttons once the Samsung logo on the screen appears. When the icon bearing an Android inside a box shows up, press the Menu button.
4.Select Wipe data/factory reset and confirm the action on the next screen.
5.Select Wipe and choose Cache. Confirm the action on the next screen.
6.Select Install ZIP from SD card. Select Choose ZIP from SD card and locate the signed-broodROM-JB-Release-1.zip file. Confirm the installation on the next screen.
Once the installation is complete, flash the Google Apps package in the same manner as in step 7.
Go back to the main menu and select Reboot system now to reboot your phone. It would take about 5-7 minutes to boot for the first time.
But NOW my phone is always starting with TWRP Mode...Help??
Is my phone bricked??

I can't get it back to stock ROM

I have a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II and I tried to get my phone back to stock ROM following this directions:
"1. Connect your device to your PC and copy uvlg3.flash2stock.zip to your internal SD.
2. Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery. To do this,
i. Power down your devi ce.
ii. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons until you see the Samsung logo appear.
iii. Release both buttons.
iv. Press the left bottom Menu capacitive button when you see the Recovery logo (white box with the android icon).
3. On the next screen, select apply update from sdcard using the Volume Up and Down buttons to navigate and the Home button to select.
4. Highlight uvlg3.flash2stock.zip on the next screen and press the Home button to select it.
5. Go back to previous menu and select reboot system now to restart your device."
It all seemed to work fine but in step 4, when i applied the update from sd card it appears in yellow:
E: short write of /tmp/sideload/package.zip(no space left on device)
Installation aborted.
As you can figure, im desperated!! so please if someone could help!!!
THANKS

Sent from my SGH-T679 using xda app-developers app

I did all that, the CWM doesnt appear now, im in the android system recovery <3e> and my options are the foollowing:
-reboot system now
-apply update from sd card(here is the stock rom but when i apply it it doesnt work because of "insuficent space"
-wipe data/factory reset(did that already)
-wipe cache partition(did that already)
-install fota(dont know what it is but i did it anyway).
Thanks for the reply
aditional info
when i reboot my phone and press down the volume i appear in odin mode, it gives me 2 choices: reboot or download mode, if i enter the download mode it appears:
ODIN HOME
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-T679
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO
CURRENT KERNEL: UNKNOWN
(ANDROID ICON)
dOWNLOAdING...
Do not turn off target!
There is an alternative way to enter recovery, just pull your battery, hook up the usb cable (ummm phone to pc), press and hold the volume up button then drop in the battery. When you see recovery start let go of the volume button.
You can mount your computer through cwm or twrp recovery an move the stock rom from your pc to your external sd. Do full wipes before flashing (any ROM in my opinion)
Sounds like you need to put the .zip on ext_sd, then wipe your internal sd, or manually delete all of the files. Something is eating all of the space. You might want to put the custom recovery back on it, CWM or TWRP, then wipe it all and reflash the zip, then reboot.

wipe data/factory reset changes doesn't apply (Note N7000ZSLO2 Model:SHV-E160S)

*NEED HELP PLS*
1-My phone doesn't keep time/date/language when I reboot
2-The language goes back to French when I reboot
3-All my apps show the stop error when i make any setting change after reboot
4-Any app that I install after reboot will disappear on the next reboot, except the SU app I installed as zip from sdcard in CWM-based recovery window
5-The phone make sound when I connect to pc but doesn't to ask to chose connection mode, so pc doesn't detect it even though I have USB Debug enabled
6-I did the wipe data/factory reset several times but there's no change when i switch ON the phone even though the wipe data/factory reset was successful.
7-The only button combination that works is the one to go to Download Mode (Volume Down + Home + Power )
8-I can only go to Recovery Mode when I try to factory reset in the phone settings. The phone will restart and take me to Recovery Mode
-Odin is unable to detect the phone.
I just think is the internal storage that is corrupted or something but i can't tell for sure. So please i need ur help on how to fix this problem or if there is any app that i can install as zip from sdcard in CWM that can scan or format or fix this problem

Root & Install Xposed Samsung C9Pro SM-C900F Indian/Indonesian/similar version

Note :
I did it on my C9Pro SM-C900F, I don't know if it will work with another variant of C9Pro.
BACK UP YOUR PHONE BEFORE PROCEEDING.
Tested by my self and work perferctly.
Steps,
1. Boot into Download mode (Vol. Down + Home + Power), select Vol. Up to continue.
2. Connect your phone to PC & flash TWRP recovery.tar.md5 with odin. Keep pressing Vol. Up + Home while flashing, that will boot directly into recovery after reboot. Remove your phone from PC.
Note : If you already install TWRP just start the steps from no. 3
3. In recovery mode, go to backup menu and backup all partitions (choose SD card storage) then reboot to normal OS.
4. Connect your phone to PC and copy the TWRP folder from storage to PC. You will use that for recovery. Back up your data, pictures, vids etc too (if important for you). Remove your phone from PC.
5. Reboot to recovery (Vol up + Home + Power), choose wipe and format data. After format data done, in advanced wipe, format system, data, internal storage, cache, and davlik/art cache. DO NOT REBOOT.
6. Connect phone to PC, now you can see internal storage. Download & Copy :
a. no-verity-no-encrypt from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424949989
b. SU from http://download.chainfire.eu/1220/SuperSU/SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip
c. Copy your TWRP folder back to phone/internal storage. Power off and Reboot to recovery (Vol up + Home + Power).
7. From restore menu install the back up from TWRP folder. Do not reboot. Then go to install, select 2 zips above and nstall. Reboot to normal OS.
8. Now you have rooted phone with decrypted twrp.
Install Xposed,
To make official Xposed working properly in your phone, you should have a deodexed ROM.
First, do step 1 and step 2 (to have TWRP).
If TWRP already instelled, reboot to recovery (Vol up + Home + Power) and flash this ROM :
https://goo.gl/GeYTRq
After flashing that ROM, continue to step 3 - 7. Then install XposedInstaller.apk, just the .apk file (no need .zip file, no need to flash from recovery). After Xposed installed, just follow the steps to install framework. Reboot, it will take some minutes.
Done.
Thanks to all xda.dev & member
