[ROM][XXBLFB][12/7/12] DarkMod [v0.3.0] + AddOn [v0.1.4]

Hi Fellow XDAer,
I made this ROM because I never felt other ROMs were quite giving me the combination of features and removed apps etc that I really wanted.
This ROM has been stripped of much (but not all) Samsung programs and frequently used apps are themed. Removed Apps can be found in Post #3.
There are also several tweaks (partly from the S3 forums here) already integrated.
This rom is designed to optimize battery life as well as be quick while still functional.
There is currently one Add-On package with themed versions of several popular and frequently used apps.
Add-On packages that restore functionality will be released eventually.
As usual for Roms, the disclaimer: I am in no way responsible if this firmware bricks your device, kills codeworkx or deletes this post.

Note: This ROM also modifies the /data partition. For optimal results, flash the ROM again after formatting or wiping /data.

I really dont find either of those two things you mentioned to be significantly superior in AOKP/CM9.
I have to admit I'm missing some features from CM9 but they won't appear just because I theme the settings app. Then again I opted for a Samsung base because there are several apps/features which simply aren't available or comparable in performance on CM9 (the camera for example or S Planner which is vastly superior to any other calendar app I have ever used)

Finally got around to upgrading the base to XXBLFB. Will work on addon packs this weekend

Since the latest release is based on XXBLFB it will have the same voice call issues unless the LFB modem is installed (cwm-flashable zip is available in ROM Manager, odin flashable .tar is available here.

May I ask what your thought process was for removing the NFC functionality? I was loving looking at your ROM specs till I read that.

It was based on the fact that aftermarket batteries don't support nfc and that there are 0 practical applications here in the Netherlands except hacking transportation cards. I can put up a flashable .zip that will restore the functionality if you need it

[P6800][ROM][Disontinued] QuickSilver 1.0Pre - ICS with a JellyBean twist...

I discontinue this ROM in favor of my QuickSilverCM Hybrid. You can find it here​
I built a ROM from the stock ICS P6800XXLQ1. It does not include baseband or kernel, so it should only be flashed over an existing ICS installation. I would recommend a wipe, because I have not tested if it works without. This is still a work in progress and I will probably add more features over time.
Due to buggy signing in older builds, a wipe is required coming from all Quicksilver versions prior to 0.8​

- Rooted and Busyboxed
- Configurable Bootanimation (Galaxy Nexus 7 Bootanimation is default) - If you plan on changing the bootanimation you should read the next paragraph or you may end up in a bootloop
Due to a bug in Samsungs implementation the bootanimation needs to be finite.
All infinite boot animations will play over the starting of the main OS and then hinder you on touching anything.
To make a bootanimation finite, use the turorial here and change the first value of the last line in your desc.txt to a number higher than 0.​- Deodexed

Those will come in the next builds. This was more of a proof of concept for myself and I will expand with tweaks as time goes on

Will test your rom later, it's always nice to see more Rom Makers in the forums

Just pushed a Update to Quicksilver 0.6 with tweaked build.prop and init.d support, as well as some useful init.d scripts. There is an incremental update for 0.5 with under 2 MB but also a full version with it already integrated.

Thanks mate for the hard work but can you remove Samsung lock screen and add the AOSP ICS lock screen.

Downloaded V0.5 and the update, but i am facing a problem of not openning any apk files that i have installed.
Can you please check this.
EDIT : Also with V0.6 all APK`s that i install gets crashed.

Ultra Light is a de-bloated stock ROM without Touchwhiz Launcher and S-Voice. Nova Launcher is installed out of the box. This ROM is for people wanting a more traditional Google 5.0.2 experience, without sacrificing the features of a Touchwhiz ROM. Instructions
- Make sure your device is rooted using PingPong Beta 6 and above
- Join the G+ community using the same Google account as you're using for Play on your phone/tablet Here
- Sign up to receive the BETA versions from Play Here
- Use the link provided after sign-up to download the app.
- Put the ROM someone in a folder on the root directory of your device
- Open Flashfire (Accept root permissions)
- Select wipe (Accept defaults)
- Go to flash zip and select the ROM
- Flash the ROM (Your device will reboot and your golden) Note - Because this ROM is deodexed, it will take a few minutes for first boot.

A tweak to keep launcher in memory
A tweak to slow down the wifi scanning intervals
Some other random tweaks that I cant remember right now :silly:
Its unclear how much of an impact these tweaks make, if any at all, but it cant hurt.

This is not a themed ROM, so I am not sure what your looking for in particular. I have over 100 pieces of software on my phone, I would be more than happy to submit some screenshots if you would like.

What does deodexed mean? Does the Rom essentially look like the stock AOSP? Are the settings and notification center have the same appearance as stock android?

It will look like the stock ROM but will have a ton of stuff removed including the TouchWiz launcher but it will, in no way, look like an AOSP based ROM.

No it means the extra touchwiz apps are gone, what's left is the same systemUI (general look), same settings.apk (the setting menu), etc.
If your looking for AOSP look, go to the Verizon section and get the AOSP theme based on the urban theme.

So what is KryxOS? It's a fully stock debloated Touchwiz ROM. The ROM is currently in alpha stages and there isn't much to see it's
more of a base for future KryxOS versions. There are LOTS of plans for this ROM including a special "Google" edition that will aim to completely

Used wanam v80 custom for Samsung. After installing the same packages I had on stock it goes into a bootloop.

The SD Card is not corrupted it's a bug in the ROM, I will take a look at it and get it fixed in the next version.

fail system launching error when booting up everything,its laggy and i flash the superuser its root it but no frills app tells me my phone isnt rotted, but only on that app,xopsed worked and everything,but its extreme laggy and the error at start up,im try to flash it again bout this time wipe cache and davilk b4 rebooting,i wanna use my gear vr
i flash again but im coming off a another roms, i did it this way wipe data ,cache,and davlik,its working well now ill see,you should note that for ppl coming off the other Roms that,will help
everything working well but rom got issuse with root,some app let me some of them tell my phone isnt rooted it werid
no frills and esfile folder manager
i take it back the vr is still mess up

Also having a huge lag and many freezes.. Photo edit forced closing, theme manager restarting phone after a while, brightness auto from 50% often pulling down to "20%" when unlock lockscreen... A few bugs to work with but overall a nice clean rom ?

it's perfect, Odexed Roms are way faster then deodexed ones. I was looking forward to a custom odexed rom.

As this is a debloated rom based on TouchWiz, are Samsung's proprietary camera features retained, that would otherwise be lost with other custom roms ?
