Hi. A relative from abroad gave my daughter this tablet just this Sunday (26 Feb 17). When we tried to open it only opens up to the sony logo and stops there. Any help will be much appreciated. Daughter is very disappointed right now.

Hi all,
I recently bought my TX overseas, and updated to 3.197. It was fine for the first few days, until today, I turned on my phone, it came up with a blank screen.
All the functions seems to be working fine, even the touch screen, except that the screen itself is blank. I don't know what is wrong with it. I live in New Zealand, and I bought the phone in Taiwan a few weeks ago, and they don't sell TX or T in NZ, and I don't have a way to repair unless I go to somewhere that sells TX, or fly to Taiwan and get it fixed. :crying:
I called Sony in Taiwan, and did everything they suggested me to do, including repairing through PCcompanion, resetting, waiting for a few hours then turning it on again and the screen is still blank. Is there anyone that knows a way to fix this or have experienced similar problem?
I really want to be able to use my phone again. Any help would be truly appreciated!

I thought My phone died a week after I updated via Sony companion. Just needed to turn it off an on. Hold Power and Volume up until it reboots. If you have done this already I can't say I have much hope for it and return to base.
Have you not insured the phone?
In the UK you are asking for trouble if you don't insure your phone.
Sounds like you will need to pay for a recommended repair centre to fix it. Sony should be able to give you a list of contacts near you if you have to send your handset abroard then it's what you have to do.
****!! don't scared me I just bought tx today.

Did you try any of the following?
1) Install a stock .FTF using Flashtool, preferably the 7.0.A.1.307 firmware that came with the phone.
2) Downloading the Sony Ericcson Update Service program and using that to force an update to .3.197?
I am having exactly the same issue today. The phone is working but not the screen. The backlight, touch panel are all functional except the lcd panel. Could this be caused by the cable connector?
By the way, I don't think it has anything to do with firmware upgrade. Mine has been running the latest firmware for weeks until today.
Update: I opened the phone and checked all cable connectors and they are all firmly connected...Maybe the screen is busted... OP, were you using the oem battery?
Update 2: atteched some teardown pictures of xperia tx.
silly me was talking on the phone in a rain storm to ask my brother to pick me up, then pocketed the phone, after a while to check time I took my phone out, the screen was getting dimmer, and dimmer. It came to a point after 24 hours that I couldn't see anything on the screen, though I get messages, calls, listen to music (obviously no changes), touch wasn't recognized. So I took it like around 10 phone repair shops, all couldn't fix, did some research and ordered a FULL LCD (Sony LT30a Xperia T - Complete Display+Front+Touchscreen-MINT) from Berlin, Germany. Got here and was excited to install it, (have experience in phone hardware installation). After the installation, started the phone and finally screen is back YAY! Came to the setup screen, choosing a language and touch isn't working. So I thought maybe I need to do a complete clean (OS, memory, cache) up, I did it with sony PC companion, took 30 mins. Still don't have touch. I did some research and they talk about digitizes etc. I know I have full LCD so I don't know why.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
P.S didn't send it Sony because I called them and they said it is liquid damage, no physical or chemical damage (what a warranty) ..
Xperia T LT30a
I bought my Xperia Z a year ago and the phone worked perfectly all the time but everything changed yesterday.
Yesterday when I was playing Modern Combat 5 on my Xperia Z, the screen suddenly went black and I thought it was just a reboot.
However it wasn't going to reboot - the phone powered off! I have to switch it on manually and nightmares were approaching.
Then, the condition became more and more serious and the phone often automatically powered off.
I thought it was rom related so I re-flashed stock rom via Flashtool and wiped everything this morning.
Now it's even not able to boot - powers off when displaying boot animation.
If the phone is connected to a charger, it won't power off and works like before.
Why and how can this problem be solved?
Thanks!
If reflashing hadn't worked, then most probably it's a hardware related issue. In most countries warranty is 24 months for a product. It's been less than 24 months since Xperia z launched so i guess you still have warranty. The best thing you could do is to send the phone for repairs.

In China warranty is only 12 months so I have decided to repair my XZ by myself.
After times of testing and consulting, it's believed that there's something wrong with the battery.
I have bought another battery and some tools, I will peel off the back panel of XZ and replace the battery.
Thank you!
I just got my xperia Z1 from Sony service they changed my motherboard.. i opened it and it was working perfect! i downloaded some apps used it for like 20 minutes and after i locked it and didnt use it for like 2-3 minutes it started rebooting it self and they said its a brand new Sony Xperia Z1 Motherboard... please help me and thanks for your time
Hey everyone,
I've recently been trying to get my super old Sony Xperia E1 D2005 running again, after my actual phone died.
It's been off for quiet a bit, so the battery most likely depleted completely. Obviously, I tried charging it, only to be greeted by the Sony logo appearing for a few seconds, then the screen and the attention light turning off and it repeating. I left it in this state for about a day, but got nothing different.
Some notes:
I'm not trying to boot into Android, the phone is just trying to display the charging level.
Tried charging it using several different cables and 2.1A, 2A and 1A charging adapters, which all work perfectly fine.
The OS is rooted, but that shouldn't really matter here.
Thanks in advance!
Replace the battery and go from there.
Hi All,
I have just about exactly the same problem.
I'm new to this so please bear with me as I feel that I need some EXPERT help, and quite a bit of hand holding.
I bought an E1/D2005 some time ago and, after failing to get on with it, it lay in a drawer for a few years.
Recently decided to give it another go. Replaced the battery and charged it up, but it just sits there with 'Sony' on the screen.
Tried Xperia Companion but it just returns an error. It also takes quite a bit of time for the PC (I3,Windows 10, 8Gb) to connect to the phone. Also get the same/similar problem using FlashTool. Maybe I should have come here 1st before messing about, sorry.
Repeated the process with Flashtool on one of my laptops (Vaio, 8Gb Windows 7) with very similar results.
I also have to pull the battery to get the phone to switch off.
1st 'stupid' question;
Do I have to replace the rear cover before trying all these things? It's a bit inconvenient having to remove it just to pull the battery.
I'm not 'dumb' technically, but getting kinda dazed and confused, so any help or guidance will be much appreciated.
TIA

A quick follow up with some stuff I forgot to include;
Xperia Companion reports that
1) Unlock Required
2) Allow Data Access
How can I change these settings if I cannot get the phone to start ?
Any ideas ?
