I don't know if Slim Recents still exists it should be included in most Slim based ROMs. But other than that there is almost no way to get a different task switcher other than the one included in a ROM.

On miui 8? Have you tried the little icon on the top right of the recent apps screen? I believe it changes the apps to just the icons.

How to hide icons

Heloo everyone. I am just wondering if there is a way to hide icons. There is something like that on the iphone called poof where the item is not deleted, just hidden. Thanks in advance.
Where do you want to hide the icons? Are you referring to the application drawer where all of the installed apps are listed? If so, LauncherPro (a replacement for Touchwiz) allows you do hide certain apps in preferences->general settings->hidden apps.
yes

Yes I got it thanks. Is there one like that for touchwiz though?
It's really quite a useful feature, since the number of utility apps you need to get the phone in some sort of workable order is astounding. Titanium Backup, One click this, one click that, Rom Manager, task managers, and on and on and on.

Notification Bar for CM7

after using cm7, I found out that the notification bar is no longer there. I don't use ADW, so there's no setting I can use to 'unhide' it.
basically I am referring to the shortcuts and/or last recent apps bar when I pull down the notification window.
What do u mean? Cm does not have recent apps in notificationbar as sense rom's have.

I know CM7 doesn't have it, I mean what third party can I install to bring back this feature. I actually prefer shortcut than recent apps, so it doesn't have to be recent apps on the notification bar.
It's pretty easy to get used to using long press home to view recent apps. it's so second nature noter I forgot all about that sense feature.
Swyped on transparent XDA app.
Get cape. Wear cape. Fly!
turns out I have to do something different to bring back the power widget in the notification bar. The power widget (if that's what its called) disappeared when I change the theme, and I've to uncheck 'show power widget' in the Cyanogenmod setting, reboot, and then recheck 'show power widget' again to bring back to power widget.
thanks and considered this case close

[Q] Only shortcuts of apps in 4.2.2 ?

In android 4.2.1 , if you moved app to the bar at the bottom or directly on your homescreen, you MOVED IT from app drawer. Now in android version 4.2.2, you just CREATE A SHORTCUT, so apps in the bar at the bottom are duplicated with apps with the app drawer and same with the apps on home screen. Is there any possibility to switch it back like in android 4.2.1 ?

on 4.2.1 if you moved apps from the drawer , they disappeared in the drawer. Now they stay there and only shortcut is created. Its really annoying for me because all apps i have on home screen or in the bottom bar are duplicated also in App drawer and my layout in app drawer is now messed up because of this. I can live with that, but i liked the way in 4.2.1 better
HTC have changed it so you have both

What do you mean? Apps on both places or both options ( move/create shortcut) available?
Thread moved to proper subforum.

You can always hide the app in the drawer. Doesn't that work for you?

^ This.
Also I lol'd at this thread a little bit. Not because OP's gripe isn't legitimate, mind you, but because there were scores of threads when the HTC One first came out complaining about the app disappearing from the drawer when it was put on the dock. I found the irony chuckle worthy.

Personally, i like this on my Nexus 7 , but on HTC One, where you can switch to "custom" in app drawer and have folders there , it seems weird to have same folder in app drawer and also in the dock. But i'll just have to live with that.

Sorry I didn't remember that as I use Nova Launcher where you can hide them and still have the shortcuts.
Why don't you gather these duplicate icons in a folder then ? They will take less of your space.

Yeah, already tried that. But folders has limited capacity so i would need a number of folders, which is quite contraproductive.
Nevermind, it looks like i'll have to deal with this as i dont want to create any other folders or use any other launcher.
Just wanted to know, if there is any possibility how get switch this to the 4.2.1 behaviour.

[Q] AOSP Recent apps on ViperOne?

I have ViperOne 2.7.0 installed on my phone. Previously, I had somehow managed to get Aosp recent apps on it.. I guess this is a built in feature, but I can't seem to find it now.. any clue where the setting is to change from the sense recent apps to aosp? Thanks.
Go to venom tweaks app: then status bar: then all the way to the bottom to dialog style: change to aosp.
Sent from my HTC One
You can also edit the recent apps style in your default.xml
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thanks guys I must've been blind not to have seen it

Touchwiz over Lollipop: App to expand status/notification bar/panel?

Prior to Lollipop, there were plenty of apps that will work as a shortcut to expand the notification panel. This saves one having to reach up to pull down the status bar.
Now, with Samsung's Lollipop, none of those apps work anymore. Nova Launcher recently patched to allow for it, but I have seen no other app that works. This seems to be a problem with Samsung's implementation of LP.
Here is one app that works with AOSP LP:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.technostark.expandstatusbar
Does anyone know of an app that will work within TW LP?

I use a edge screen trigger that allows me to open the notification panel from within any app. I can use a gesture from the bottom of the screen to open the panel without having to reach up. Nova only works while I'm on the home screen.
