So like almost everyone on C432, I have updated my P9 Plus (VIE-l09) to B360 or Nougat with EMUI 5.0.
These are currently the changes, bugs, fixes and new things added to the Press Touch feature:
New:
- You can now press touch on the gallery to reveal a pop-up menu (but with no icons).
- Settings pop-up menu has new Press Touch icons.
New found bugs:
-When set to dark mode, some pop-up menus display a white logo, this while the background is also still white.
New fixes:
- If you choose to replace the navigation keys, the 3 dots now stay when doing something in full screen.
Have you seen new Press Touch features? let me know!

I guess I was sort of hoping the LDPI phones have gone the way of the dinosaur. ;-) Was also thinking maybe Ultra is a little too heavy weight for lower-spec'd phones.
I'll definitely look into this. The medium DPI images should be scaled down on-the-fly on LDPI devices, but I think keeping Android 1.5 (Cupcake) support broke this.
I like to use forever !!!!! Link ?
Looks like a nice app

Hi, got the Trial from the market...
Where can I change the Dictionary? Or is it disabled in the trial? I found Settings-Gestures-Dictionaries but it only offers me English.
And btw: can I migrate my old HTC personal Dictionary to the german one?
like this.
Updated to 6.2b.
· Increased performance and stability.
· Dictionary/tracing code completely rewritten.
· New theme features: can now stylize the suggestion bar.
· Almost too many fixes to count!
Hi All,
I've change my phone to a HTC One and the 3-dot menu button appears at the bottom in a black strip (that seems to take about 10% of the entire screen) for many popular applications. Some of these applications include:
- Facebook
- Dolphin Browser HD
- many popular games (including some angry birds variants)
This 3-dot menu button seems to waste valuable screen estate to say the least and is very annoyance for some applications (games, video playback) where the full screen game/video does not really take the entire 1280x720 screen.
Do you know a possibility to remove it? for example on my Sony Xperia Z I don't have this problem.
Thanks for your help,
In 4.2.2 based rom you can disable the "3 dots menu" changing the behaviour of the home button,
to do this you have to go:
settings-->display->home button-> and select the second option,
now you'll go to every application settings just keeping pressed your home button
It's a choise of htc because we have only two capacitive buttons.
However, if you're on android 4.1.2 you can remove it with a mod or a custom rom.
With android 4.2.2 we can remove this with an htc implementation

I'm still on stock rom and for the moment I'm happy. So I need to wait the 4.2.2 who are suppose to out soon.
Thanks
Or you can root and install a custom 4.2.2 rom NOW
Hello I'm having an issue with the button widget looking strange on older devices. Ive set the minsdk to 8 so it will run on my test device (old froyo version). But for some reason my buttons always end up looking completely white with no background or hover effects.
I've tried changing the styles and searched around and no one mentions the issue.
I've reproduced the problem on another machine as well.
Steps to reproduce problem:
Start a new blank activity project, minsdk to 8
Put a button on the layout with the layout editor, then change the dropdown that say "21" to preview all versions. You will then see all buttons are simple white rectangles with no border, except for lollipop version.
When I run it on my device the button background is same as activity background so its hard to tell its even a button, also there is no hover effects, but it does listen for clicks.
But when I use a togglebutton or imagebutton it looks as it should, a button.. with gradient background with beveled edges and onhover effects.. but you cant set text... what am I missing here?
I simply want a button that looks and feels like a button without any fancy custom styling, just device default style..
EDIT: Problem solved, its bug in SDK 22, had to revert to SDK 21
You have to create style for your button, or drawable background for it.
If you use default button it's appearance will depend on version of Android .
Hi guys,
So I was really hiped to see how amazing the S6 would be and got very dissapointed with it (no microsd, removable battery, 40% less features, not water resistant at least and much more **** things about it). But despite all the drawbacks, there are, of course, some good things about it too. So here're some features that you can get on your S5 with some simple apps and configurations
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edge Lighting (it actually works when phone is not on a flat surface)
1. Download Edge Color Notifications.
2. Open it and select the blue options in the center top called "Select contact specific color". From there you're able to set different colors for each of your contacts. If you tap on the 3-dots at the top right and then on "PhoneCall options", you're gonna be able to change the default color for unknown calls, column width and animation type.
3. There are other extra settings as well, but you'll need to check them out by yourself as I only use the S6 Edge ones I mentioned above
4. Enjoy your Galaxy S5 Edge .
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
S6 Camera Launch by double pressing the Home button whereever you are (except on lockscreen, but we have widget for that)
1. Download a very old but very handy app from 2011 called Home2 Shortcut.
2. Open it and do everything as I tell you below -->
-where it says --Step1-- select the "Choose App" button and select your camera app.
-on step2 you can change the response and while they say to leave it at normal, mine is at "very very short" and it's actually better for me. Play with this a little.
-step3, select TouchWiz launcher.
-on step4 press the close button as it's written in the app and choose Home2 Shortcut as your default launcher and click "Always".
3. Now when you double press the Home button while your phone is unlocked the camera is gonna launch just like on the S6 (Edge).
Tip : You know how the Galaxy S6's camera is always in standby mode and ready, but doesn't show up in the recent apps list so you don't clear it by hitting clear all. Well I found a ...bug? maybe.. and am able to do the same on my S5. Follow below steps to try and get it working -->
*Whenever you restart or turn your phone on you need to launch the camera from the lockscreen shortcut and then press home button and unlock your phone.
*Now double press Home to launch camera and again press Home to go to your homescreen.
*Now when you double press Home again camera is gonna launch. But when you press Home to close it, it won't show up in the recent apps list.
*Sometimes it doesn't work from the 1st time so do the TIP steps a couple of times until you get it to work.
*Sometimes toggling HDR on/off "fixes" the bug and camera shows up in recents again. Repeat TIP steps to "bug" it again
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
People Edge (works with no bugs whatsoever, even on lockscreen)
1. Download Drupe.
2. When you open it it's gonna ask for notification read permissions, just grant it that and open app again (if it doesn't open by itself).
3. Inside the app there will be a quick tutorial to what everything does, check it out.
4. Now ,after the tut is gone, you're going to see some of your contacts listed on the screen. You can long hold a contact and remove it by dragging it to the bottom of the page where a little "x" will appear at the left side. Tap the "+' button to add more of your contacts to "Favourites" (starred).
5. On the bottom right there is a settings icon, click it and see below steps -->
-Default View - changes view when app is started. Can be "Favourites" or "Recents".
-Applications - tap to open menu. Hold on the 3-lines at the right and drag apps up or down. Apps which are more coloured will show up on the main screen, those below will not. You can assign E-Mail, FB, WhatsApp and so on to each of your contacts. All of those, one swipe away!
-Theme - changes colour of the transparent background of the app.
-Lock Screen - choose look on the lockscreen, "Dots" is the best, 'cause with the others if you tap on the lockscreen, app shortcut is gone. "Dots" doesn't go away, ever.
-Contacts Suggestion - this will add frequently called contacts which are not in your "Favourites" right under them.
-Vibration - guess what it does
-Email Signature - adds a "Sent via drupe" text under each email you sent using the app.
-Thumb Swipe - with this enabled, no need to swipe all the way to the app you wanna use. Just start swiping towards it and you'll see a highlighted line leading to the app which you can drag to other apps. Extremely useful when operating with just your thumb.
-Orientation - changes location of the contacts and apps. Can be left or right.
6. There's a "Search" bar on the main screen.
7. There's also a dialer on the main screen's bottom left side.
8. If you swipe right on the main screen, you'll see either "Favourites" or "Recents" (depending on which of the two you have set as your default screen when you open the app).
9. Long hold on the 3 dots, which when swiped, access the app, to place them anywhere on the screen by dragging them around.
10. Bare in mind that if you swipe to call from your lockscreen, you'll still need to unlock the phone for calling to take effect. This just saves you the trouble of going to the Phone app and calling from there.
PS : App may ask you for your email and fb account when you 1st start it. Just once though, once you're done it won't bother you anymore!
Hi,
I've been doing some research on Huawei phones and found some tips which I thought I would share. If you find these useful press the like button.
1. Phone Search and recently used apps - Swipe down on homescreen (starting from about halfway down the screen, not from the top or notification centre/quick settings will be displayed) and you will get a search box to search, Apps, Contacts, Browser History, Recent Apps
2. Lock recent apps - In the recents menu (square button in navigation bar) if you swipe down on the App it locks it so it won't be deleted from your recents (I'm testing this to see if it helps with notifications coming through).
3. Photo Focus and Exposure - Long press on the screen when in Camera App and you get two circles for seperate focus and exposure
4. Quick photo - When phone is locked, press volume down twice quickly and it will take a photo really quick
5. Split screen - Long press recents to open the split screen multi-tasker.
